Great Job Edd! I usually watch you in Wheeler Dealers here in Brazil. What happened with the new episodes? You're really made great transformations in every car you fix. Amazing performance. Congratulations from Roraima State in Brazil.
Edd, you need to do a show where you go to a fan’s house and work on their cars WITH them. Not a handout, but a hand UP. I’ve got 3 Toyotas that could use your touch. Cheers!

Ceratec is great stuff .... the only thing i would have done differently was the injector clean BEFORE the oil change to minimize oil dilution and any deposits that may have gotten into the oil from the injector cleaning. Love ED ....Ed please do your own show ...perhaps a collaboration with the Top Gear kids ???
Yes, the gearbox flush should be carried out every 100,000 Kilometers on Mercedes 6 cyclinder Motors with automatic gearboxes, even though they say their Gearboxes are good for life, but their Internal recommendations read differently. I had a problem with my S-Class where the Gearbox kept disengaging when giving high revs, just stop engine and restart, no problem if not on a busy road. But for a permanent fix just flush out the gearbox and refill it as Edd shows in this video. Costs about 300 Quid in the Fatherland but worth every Cent/Penny. Many Taxidrivers just binned their old Mercedes for new Mercedes, but this fix saved them small fortunes, especially small one man bands like myself, It almost like getting a new car! Highly recommended.
I say that Ant and Edd should team up and make their own show. Who needs Mike B? I used to watch the old Wheeler Dealers and the new WD to see the mechanics fix the cars, not Mike. Think of all of the knowledge that could be shared by these two guys!!!
What I find confusing is that Ed says he quit WD as they were wanting to cut back on the workshop content yet with Ant in the USA there is way more in depth workshop stuff than when Ed was in the show....puzzling.
I was always taught not to flush Engine oil as modern oils have detergents in them and flushing may cause damage to seals etc. All you need to do is change oil and filter regularly! 🤔🙈
You don't need to flush your oil on a well maintained vehicle! I would only consider it on a neglected/barn find vehicle that you questioned the severity of the deteriorated oil.
I've found engine flushes to be beneficial on modern engines where cheaper oils or oils with high temp volatility (read: easily burnt off) create sludge problems in the engine. I had a 2006 Volvo S60 2.4 T5 that got conventional dealership changes every 7500mi/12,070km and after the first 4 synthetic changes, the bottom 1/4 of the filter had sludge flakes in it. After a liquimoly flush, the filter was about 2/3rds full of a layer of flakes. There was a noticeable decrease in NVH from the engine and 20k miles later when I changed the VVT solenoids, even the top end passages were just sunflower yellow. No burnt oil deposits at all. Never had a problem for another 70k miles

Sadly most car manufacturers realised their oils were too good in the detergent area and reduced them by over 50%, the result is dirty engines and less mileage for their Oil Company shares to rise drastically, Liqui Moli is a great developer of engine and petrol additives that keep your engine clean, If you believe the car makers you are doomed to be your Dealership´s best customer! I just spent over €4,000 on repairs, even on a Petrol Pump that hardly gets used as I have LPG. Be carefull of US made additives, some will eat your engine´s rubber seals for breakfast as some US engines have no rubber seals to get eaten away! Flushing an Automatic Gearbox not only makes sense, it is essential to get rid of bits of metal that start to damage he gearbox and cause horrific bills, flushing it saves thousands on repairs.
Thats why you have w124 Mercedes, which has a separate drain plug on the automatic gearbox turbine so you can drain that aswell and you don't have to flush the whole gearbox
You don´t have to, but If you experience slippage you should flush the gearbox about every 60,000 miles. The W124 Mercedes is very robust and I wish I´d kept mine, however the Petrol costs must be a horror story these days? Had to sell mine as there was no Catalitic converter for it in Germany and car tax rules changed for cars with no converters, about 3X IIRC.
Dear Paul, thank you very much for your positive feedback. We are very pleased that you are happy with our LIQUI MOLY products. We will keep on working hard to satisfy our customers´ needs in the future as well. Best regards, your LIQUI MOLY team www.liqui-moly.com
The residual is so low that doing an extra 'cheap' oil/filter cycle is really only to make owner feel better! I'm going to change again at 2-3K the back to ~5K for my mostly city driving 2006 Tundra 4.7 with 102K. If mostly steady highway 7500K is probably not an issue whatsoever.
Bought the MoS2 Anti-Friction Engine Treatment 3/30/2021, poured it in the crankcase then drove off. After 2.5 miles of driving, engine started misfiring, lost a lot of power and barely got us home. Checked the codes when I got home and P0300 and P0305 showed. Shut the engine off, checked for loose connections but didn't find any so I started the car again. After a few minutes of idling, engine struggled then died. Now it is seized and would not start again. Engine had adequate oil and wasn't overfilled when added the Liqui-Moly, coolant level was adequate, no overheating and no issues. Now it's just dead. Car is a 2007 Mercedes ML350 with 165k miles and oil change was only ~1,000 miles ago.

Best reserve these treatments for older vehicles like that Mondeo.. The gearbox flush isn't a bad idea if you then do a 'proper' refill.. Still think Ed should have found his own maintenance channel.. Obviously not easy but there are many idiots out there that have succeeded so Ed being smart should have succeeded really..
Guys, take it easy on Edd, he’s a good guy, he’s got to pay the bills somehow like everyone else, he’s not doing anything that all the rest of us don’t do on a regular basis in our jobs, anyhow I recently serviced my Honda Civic, after let’s say an ‘extended service interval’, quite a bit extended in fact, all filters, engine flush, even went to a slightly lighter grade Castro’s fully synthetic oil thinking I’d get better fuel economy, used a ‘quality’ fuel injector cleaner (one of the higher priced ones) again for better running & improved fuel economy...... & WOW!!!!!...what a difference it didn’t make....I’m still getting the same fuel economy, it’s probably running a little smoother...I think..can’t really tell tbh but either Honda’s are really that well built & robust enough that they’re not affected much by lack of servicing, which I believe to be the case as I know plenty of people who hardly service them much & don’t have any problems with they’re cars including a guy with a Honda Accord from a by gone era who hasn’t even checked his oil level in the 4 years he’s owned it (it has almost 300k miles on it) never mind changed the oil & it runs perfectly fine, it still has the same oil filter when he bought it 4yrs ago. Maybe with more complex cars (turbo diesels etc) with high performance injectors & fuel pumps, these products may actually have an beneficial effect but in my experience they didn’t make a single bit of difference, the car was as smooth, quiet & pulls just as strong as it did before the service, it has less than 120k miles on the clock & it’s a Honda so just about broken in, so maybe it’s just as good as new hence why the products made no difference. Can’t see any harm using them very once in a while, nothing wrong with a cleaning every now & again, even if you don’t notice the difference.
Hello Carlos, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can. But please ensure not to exchange more than around 10% of the oil amount with additives Kind regards, your LIQUI MOLY team www.liqui-moly.com

Please answer my question. I read online that ceratec is not compatible with molygen as it can cause faster sludge build up. Does ceratec only not compatible with molygen only or with other liqui moly engine oils as well such as top tec n other liqui moly engine oil?

Hello i use LIQUI MOLY injector cleaner on my PD 130 asz/arl 1.9 tdi with many miles on the clock, can i use this ceratec with LIQUI MOLY 5w-40 Top Tec 4100 oil
Hello maxthecaddy, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, you can use our LIQUI MOLY Cera Tec with your mentioned LIQUI MOLY oil (Top Tec 4100 5W-40). pim.liqui-moly.de/pidoc/P000017/3721-CeraTec-46.0-en.pdf Kind regards, your LIQUI MOLY team www.liqui-moly.com
I use 4200 5w30 in my audi a6 3,0tdi engine. If i will use ceratec on next oil change, what amount of ceratec i have to add? Normally 8,2 liter of oil it takes. Do i have to decrease the amount of oil while using ceratec? Thank you
Hello METE, thank you for your inquiry. We recommend to use 60ml Cera Tec per litre of engine oil. Kind regards, your LIQUI MOLY team www.liqui-moly.com
J'utilise liqui moly d-pour ma mercedes W124 essence de 1994, j'ai directement ressenti la différence. J'ai fait la même chose pour mon nouveau coupé w207, moteur plus souple moins bruyant, plus agréable en conduite.
Edd is a good mechanic, but, if your car has high miles, with possible neglect or unknown maintenance from a previous owner, then flushing engines and transmissions can be very bad.
I’ve never believed in these Liquid Miracles and I’m surprised Edd does, changing the transmission oil in that Range Rover was a complete waste of time if the filter is Not done at the same time. If the filter is blocked that gearbox will Never operate properly no matter how many times the oil is changed and I can’t believe Edd didn’t realise that and as for using oil additive in engine oil is definitely a no no. The engine oil manufacturers say it’s Totally unnecessary to use additives as they already put in what is necessary to protect the engine. If your vehicle is still in Warranty you should Never use these additives because if you have to claim for engine problems and they send for an oil analysis they will reject the claim immediately leaving you to foot the bill.
IF it is blocked - and is it? It is better to once change your gear oil for 150 bucks half way through the car's lifetime than running that old juice for 15 years with the ignorant argument that the filter could be blocked after 6-7 years, which of course it most normally is not. I don't use engine additives because my manufacturer is allergic to that and I am under warranty, so don't care whether the engine explodes either way (in fact, a free new engine would be amazing after 6 years :) ), but I use LM fuel system cleaner ca every 1500 miles and the octane booster, because often, there is only regular fuel in the countryside. Btw, apparently LM does not recommend using engine additives with long life oil, because they are trying to do opposing jobs in your engine... but this car here does not have a 20K mile oil interval, so I guess it's OK.
Hello Nick, The ammount of Cera Tec which is added has to be substracted from the oil ammount as you otherwise would overfill your oil level. Best regards, your LIQUI MOLY team
Hello Damo, thank you for your inquiry. What type of car (brand/model/engine/power/kilometers) do you have? Kind regards, your LIQUI MOLY team www.liqui-moly.com
Hello Damo, for your car we recommend the following LIQUI MOLY oils: For your transmission: pim.liqui-moly.de/pidoc/P000239/3650-TopTecATF1100-41.0-en.pdf For your engine: pim.liqui-moly.de/pidoc/P000207/1091-MoS2Leichtlauf10W-40-49.0-en.pdf Kind regards, your LIQUI MOLY team www.liqui-moly.com
The oil is that good quality you need an oil additive and flush😂😂😂 far better of just doing regular oil changes every 5k for my focus rs with manufacturers recommend oil, no need for this other shit, oh well he got paid for add I suppose
Suggestions that ED is selling out... Well you've gotta pay the mortgage somehow! BTW anyone know if Liqui Moly 1200 top tec can be used in a Renault Espace 2.2dci 2007, apparently the auto box in these is a bit fussy
Hello Future, thank you for your inquiry. Do you know our oil guide? www.liqui-moly.com/en/service/oil-guide.html There you will find the right oil for your vehicle. If you flush out before you put the good oil filter you will be pleased to see the new cheap oil has much moli in now you can change for good oil and filter
@@liquimolywebtv what is the reason for the flush? If someone changes their oil regularly is there still deposits that need to be removed from the engine by the flush?
Hello Bushy556, thank you for your inquiry. Yes, deposits can appear even with regular oil change. Therefore we recommend to flush the engine at every oil change. Kind regards, your LIQUI MOLY team www.liqui-moly.com
Hello C.ShuWei, thank you for your inquiry. No, please do not mix all three of your mentioned products. Cera Tec should not be mixed with both of them. Motor Protect and the Oil Additive can be mixed. When mixing these two please keep in mind not to add more than 10% of the engine oil as additive with the engine oil. Kind regards, your LIQUI MOLY team www.liqui-moly.com
Is it true that mos2 is bad for some types of metal .. (Yellow metall ) .. I used your additive ( not ceratec) and im scared now please help . i have a bmw 320i e36
Hello Alex, thank you for your inquiry and for using our LIQUI MOLY products.😊 Regarding your question: No, that is not true. Our MoS2 is totally compatible with all kind of coloured metall. Problems with fully synthetic oils and coloured metal like copper are true. This combination can cause demages. For your BMW E36 the Oil Additive is the perfect suitable additive to protect the engine against friction and wear. Below please find the product information: pim.liqui-moly.de/pidoc/P000005/1011-OilAdditive-35.0-en.pdf Kind regards, your LIQUI MOLY team www.liqui-moly.com

Holy crap. Edd has aged a lot since the last time I saw him on Wheeler Dealers. I wonder what happened to his funky wrapped van.
How do you get paid for endorsing snake oil
Should I flush the engine with economy oil since there's still some flush solvents left in the engine?

I'd rather use what the manufacturer's state and no additives.

Agree . Why would you need to add oil additives to a top quality oil ?
Maybe this oil is lacking vital additives when it’s made ?
Is it enough to add a bottle of injection cleaner to 20 liters of gasoline?
Hello Milan,
we would say at least around 30 litre per can.

Big mistake doing an engine flush. You'll be sorry down the road!
Can you explain why an engine flush is bad?
Where is Martin McFly? The video only include doc…😮
I used lique moly ceratec product and I drove my car about 2000km . Can I use engine flush now? Any one help here.
I use 4200 5w30 in my audi a6 3,0tdi engine. If i will use ceratec on next oil change, what amount of ceratec i have to add? Normally 8,2 liter of oil it takes. Do i have to decrease the amount of oil while using ceratec? Thank you
Hello METE,
thank you for your inquiry.
We recommend to use 60ml Cera Tec per litre of engine oil.

@@liquimolywebtv thank you for info. What abaout oil consumption? Does it reduce as the amount of ceratec that we would add?
When oil is consumed, of course the oil with the Cera Tec mixed in gets reduced.

J'utilise liqui moly d-pour ma mercedes W124 essence de 1994, j'ai directement ressenti la différence. J'ai fait la même chose pour mon nouveau coupé w207, moteur plus souple moins bruyant, plus agréable en conduite.
Interesting that Ed only used the ceratec and fuel additive in another car and not his Range Rover. Why?
Tendrían que estar traducidos en castellano saludos
Ceratec goes on top from the oil or you have to suck some oil out to fill with Ceratec to the top ?
Hello Nick, The ammount of Cera Tec which is added has to be substracted from the oil ammount as you otherwise would overfill your oil level. Best regards, your LIQUI MOLY team
Don't you clean the engine flush with a first oil change ?
Ok all right, yeah, yeah..
Can liquimoly be used in classic cars automatic transmission.

Is it me or does he remind us of Doc Brown from BTTF?
The oil is that good quality you need an oil additive and flush😂😂😂 far better of just doing regular oil changes every 5k for my focus rs with manufacturers recommend oil, no need for this other shit, oh well he got paid for add I suppose

can I mix ceratec and molygen motoe protect oil additive?cuz I buy too many, lol
Hello C.ShuWei,
thank you for your inquiry.
No, please do not mix all three of your mentioned products.
Cera Tec should not be mixed with both of them.
Motor Protect and the Oil Additive can be mixed.
When mixing these two please keep in mind not to add more than 10% of the engine oil as additive with the engine oil.

Hello Alex,
thank you for your inquiry and for using our LIQUI MOLY products.😊
Regarding your question:
No, that is not true.
Our MoS2 is totally compatible with all kind of coloured metall.
Problems with fully synthetic oils and coloured metal like copper are true.
This combination can cause demages.
For your BMW E36 the Oil Additive is the perfect suitable additive to protect the engine against friction and wear.
