There's an 80's sitcom called "Just the Ten of Us" that stars three actresses (including Heather Langenkamp) that appear throughout the Nightmare on Elm Street franchise. One of them is in the bus scene. Some subtle and not so subtle NOES and Freddy references pop up in the show every now and then.
Actually Wes ended up having little to do with part 3. They completely butchered and rewrote most of his original script and only used the premise of his script which is why they still gave him a screen credit. Even the actor who played kincaid said in a Q&A when someone asked him how it was working with wes. He said wes wasn't really around for the making of that film. Why would he be? I wouldn't either if they weren't using my script as I wrote it. I've read wes' original part 3 script and it's WAYYY darker and less humor, if any humor at all really if I remember correctly. They butchered Freddy's character 3-6. They basically turned him into a Saturday morning cartoon. Instead of him being in the shadows and scary, they put his face in the camera at every turn with the obnoxious "brah hahahaha" stupid laugh every 5 seconds. They should of kept the tone of the first 2 throughout the series
This entry and this version of Freddy are different for many reasons, most notably how Freddy pursues Jesse in the same way he pursues every other final girl in this franchise, "Flirtations" and all; that's how this movie's writer (Who's also gay) described it in the Never Sleep Again Documentary when he said that Elm Street 2 is the movie where Freddy came out as bisexual. The writer wanted to tell a gay story using Freddy, but it was 1985 which made that difficult; so he kind of, "hid" the actual story he wanted to write in the story we wound up getting.
@Scared Pale After Nancy pulled Freddy out of her dream in the first film, Freddy was stuck haunting Nancy's house in the real world. He would only be able to get back into the dream world if people feared him again. So the basic story of the second film is that to enable himself to kill others he possessed Jesse. He was able to do supernatural things through Jesse where ever he went. I thought it was cool that the film took us to the 'real' boiler room where Freddy had worked because previously we had only seen the dream version of it.
The coach was also in Starship Troopers. Yeah, depantsing isn't so much an issue as an adult. Quicksand also isn't as big an issue as I thought it would be as a kid haha.
In a franchise that’s weird because of how dreams are which are weird, this one definitely stands out and could easily skip cause it’s not mentioned ever again in the sequels. I don’t hate it I do like it but I’m never really in the mood to rewatch it. The scene of Freddy coming out of Jessie is iconic like the practical work is amazing in this franchise.
Freddy attacking those kids at the pool party goes against the notion of being only attacked in dreams. It loses that mystique. Part 2 does not feel like a Nightmare On Elm St movie, but the good news is part 3 steers it back in place. Part 3 is perhaps the best one in the series
First time watching one of your reactions. Really enjoyed it. Before I stumbled upon your video I came off a different reactor watching an Elm Street movie which really dripped with insincerity. You on the other hand come across unfiltered and raise thought provoking and engaging viewpoints and topics as you watch. Really enjoyed the reaction, although I disagree on the score. Like most horror franchises, NIGHTMARE takes a while before it figures out its own rules. Here it feels like the writer was more interested in the "bringing dreams into the corporeal world" thread than the "killing people in their nightmares" thread. I don't think they were quite sure what made the first movie so popular and went with a tried and true horror trope (possession). Also the notion of Freddy taking revenge on his killers' children is completely absent here, since Jesse's family only just moved to town. NIGHTMARE does have a built-in continuity escape hatch in that it's fairly easy to handwave any contradictions from movie to movie by invoking the Actually That Scene Was A Dream rule.
Never Sleep Again is another great documentary that examines all the Elm Street movies. But if you want to avoid spoilers, I’d save it for after your finished with the series.
I don't think the producers knew what they had at that point. I think they just thought of going in a very original direction but it just didn't work. The score isn't my fav either. Also you can tell they had to reedit the film several times. Just look at their clothes. You can tell some scenes were moved around.
Nancy didn't have time to cry or bleed, she was too busy kicking Freddy's butt! Seriously, Nancy was on top of that entire situation. Until she wasn't but that's on Bob Shaye. People keep saying Laurie Strode is THE final girl, but Nancy would have made quick work of both Michael and Jason. She doesn't get that respect. Still, Kim Myer gave a great performance of Lisa!
It's been a while since I've seen the documentary, I may even be thinking about a different much longer Doc. But I think they will be scenes from the other movies and spoilers. So if you haven't already watched it, you may want to hold off until you've seen the whole series.

cool review and reaction : ) I subscribed to your channel...definitely watch the rest of the Freddy movies...3 and 4 are two of my favorites ( I saw part 4 in the movie theater way back in 1988 when i was 7 years old ~)
I always saw this as Freddy using Jesse to bring fear of himself back to elm street so that he could grow more powerful. It’s the only time he has ever WANTED to be in the real world.
P.S. I Respectfully Disagree Scared Pale i love the soundtrack it's done by Christopher Young who also did Hellraiser 1987 Christopher Young is a great and underrated Film Music Composer
The gay subtext is BARELY subtext in this one, and it was revealed to have been intentional 😆 The pantsing/jockstrap scene, the leather bar, the coach being towel-whipped, the relationship between Grady and Jesse. Even Freddy coming out of Jesse was symbolic of Jesse's sexual frustrations-which is essentially the entire plot. And naturally, as a gay man, I love the hell out of Freddy's Revenge. It's not my favorite, but it's camp af, and Freddy is probably the darkest he's ever been!
@ScaredPale Lol, I don't blame you for not immediately catching on! I'm excited to see your reactions to the rest of the series. New Nightmare is supreeeme! The rest are... something 😅

I think he wants Jesse's body so he can continue to effect the real world. I think the gay bdsm bar is a little more gay then the dance.
Those weren’t Fu Man Shu cereals on her fingers they were called Bugel’s they were a very popular snack back in the 80’s and 90’s. They are really tasty as well they come in different flavors my favorite ones were the ranch flavor.
I’ve always been a little confused with these movies. They only seem to make sense to me if you consider the entire film from start to finish for each part 1-6 as dreams. It’s all a dream, a nightmare. There is no reality. Maybe I’m mistaken.
I believe that Jesse ditnt die because in my opinion the end of the second film is another dream , and also because he was never mentioned in the later sequels as one of the many victims of Krueger!
It's super simple the director of this movie completely hated the idea of Freddy Krueger in the first movie. So he literally and figuratively recreated Freddy Krueger how he thought he should have been from the start. So he hated Wes Cravens idea of the character he created. So he threw everything Wes Craven established for Freddy Krueger as in his powers and abilities. Away then remade Freddy Krueger how he thought he should have been from the start. So that's why no one dies in their dreams and everyone's awake when they die. That is also why Freddy Krueger has powers in the real world now instead of only in the dream world. That is also why Freddy Krueger wants to possess someone like a normal demon. Whare as Freddy Krueger loved being in the dream world because that's where he had power only in a Nightmare on Elm Street. So basically the director said F you Wes Craven an your character I am going to completely rewrite him into my character with new powers and new abilities. That is the truth about everything that happened in this movie. The director literally hated A Nightmare on Elm Street so instead of just making his own character from scratch like a normal director wood. He took a preexisting movie A Nightmare on Elm Street an pre-existing character Freddy Krueger. Then ignored everything from the first movie because he hated it an then took. Everything he wanted to do with his original character an did it with Freddy Krueger. This is why hardly anyone talks about this movie. Because of everything the director did Freddy Krueger powers and abilities and all this hate is Justified. This is literally and figuratively only a Nightmare on Elm Street movie in name. Because no one dies in dreams dream things happen in real world Freddy Krueger possesses somebody. This is literally not a Nightmare on Elm Street movie because. If it was people would only die in dreams Freddy Krueger would only have powers and abilities in the Dreamworld. Freddy Krueger would not try to possess somebody because he loves. Being a dream demon that can go to anyone at any time in their dreams. On a documentary about the movie franchise even New Line Cinema said they have no idea why the director. Did anything he did in this movie but they made sure it never happened again. So it has nothing to do with an subtext or anything at all of anyone's sexuality or whatever in the movie. It is simple fact in A Nightmare on Elm Street Freddy Krueger was established as a dream demon killer only. He only had powers an abilities in the Dreamworld an he only killed people in the Dreamworld. This director hated every part of it and ignored it in this movie. He literally and figuratively gave Freddy Krueger new powers an abilities he never had and would never have. That is powers and abilities in the real world then he only killed in the real world. With wird dream world things happening in the real world. Then he had Freddy Krueger possess someone this director made Freddy Krueger into a normal everyday demon. So he was not a dream demon killer like he was in the original Nightmare on Elm Street like he was set up to be and only be. This is why this movie gets the hate it does an it deserves it. Then if anyone thinks it's acceptable what he did with Freddy Krueger. Lets take Michael Myers from Halloween an in Halloween 2 he now only kills people in their dreams. He also now has dream powers and abilities. Completely ignoring the fact that in Halloween Michael Myers only stalked an killed people in the real world. That's acceptable then because what the director of this movie did to Freddy Krueger is acceptable what I'm saying is acceptable to do with Michael Myers. Seriously this is why after this movie New Line Cinema went to Wes Craven. For help with Nightmare on Elm Street 3 because they had to do damage control and get everything back on track because of what this movie did. Then New Line made sure Freddy Krueger stayed a dream demon who only had powers and abilities in the dream world.
Love watching your review. It has gay overtones but i always felt it could show depression too. The key to Elm st. Is the door on Nancy's house. Its Blue in the first and in New Nightmare, but Red in the others. One theory is there are diff Freddy's. Keep Rockin
Nightmare On Elm Street Part 2 is my favorite of The Series i prefer it over the original Blasphemy i know but i just love the look of Freddy he looks like A Witch i also really like him Psychological torturing Jesse
this ones really weird and doesnt fit the lore of the series (Freddy doesnt kill anyone in their dreams) and it's kinda the black sheep of the series but it's my favourite out of all the sequels (besides the fantastic Part 3)
It was definitely a slur in England when I was growing up in the 80s & 90s. Who knows these day's. It's hard to keep up with what you can and cannot say.
The first two are really the only good ones. Part 2 was the last of the truly scary Freddy. After 2 is when he became overly comedic and ridiculous. I'll never understand how people can watch the first two portrayals of Freddy and somehow come to the conclusion that part 3 is somehow this fucking masterpiece of the series. Give me a break. I will say a new nightmare brought back the real Freddy. That's how he should of been through each and every sequel and then maybe it wouldn't of been so horrendous.
You were the best thing about this crap-fest. Mark Patton was 25 when this was filmed. He looks about 80 in his IMDB profile pic. By the way, what size shoe do you wear?
No I didn’t know about it. So some of it stood out but honestly wasn’t that obvious to me until I edited this video together then I was like….oh ok I get it now.

Fans have really warmed to this movie in the decades since. It's lovingly considered the gayest horror movie of all time
9:20 that´s the real nigthmare haha
i´ve experience something like that xD
wow ive watched till the end and bad dreams do come true.... :O
Definitely my favorite Freddy movie 🍿
Can't wait till you get to part 3
this ones really weird and doesnt fit the lore of the series (Freddy doesnt kill anyone in their dreams) and it's kinda the black sheep of the series but it's my favourite out of all the sequels (besides the fantastic Part 3)
Can you please react to the horror movie Stigmata
Starring Patricia Arquette Oscar winner
Please , pretty please
Love your hair so long ! Wow
8:30 Uhh, can we use that word now ? That used to be a slur
Not a slur as far as I know 😊 I support all LGBTQ (q stands for queer)
It was when I was a kid 🤷♂️
@@Nicolas.Vincent Same. Maybe we're just old and out of touch
It was definitely a slur in England when I was growing up in the 80s & 90s.
Who knows these day's. It's hard to keep up with what you can and cannot say.
@@Lasher667 never say that, brethren.
It's today's generation that are out of touch.😂
part 2 im guessing Jesse was gay and had a struggle about. But i could be wrong
gurl ure cuttin out the best parts lol
Gotta for copyright reasons :)
This is your reminder for a good re watch later
The first two are really the only good ones. Part 2 was the last of the truly scary Freddy. After 2 is when he became overly comedic and ridiculous. I'll never understand how people can watch the first two portrayals of Freddy and somehow come to the conclusion that part 3 is somehow this fucking masterpiece of the series. Give me a break. I will say a new nightmare brought back the real Freddy. That's how he should of been through each and every sequel and then maybe it wouldn't of been so horrendous.
I just watched 4 and oh boy, it’s so camp.
I agree the first two he’s way more menacing
Why did you never watch the sequels ?
Not sure, they never came up on TV. I had the first one of VhS so it was an easy go to.
............kids🙄
Thanks!
Thanks for the support!
Nightmare on em Street 2 (1985) movie: pool scene was best
You were the best thing about this crap-fest.
Mark Patton was 25 when this was filmed. He looks about 80 in his IMDB profile pic.
By the way, what size shoe do you wear?
Get a grip, Incel.
Is it a burden to constantly have to outdo your general douchebaggery with casual creepiness?
@@DanJackson1977 you tell me?
@@Nicolas.Vincent awww, you even came riding in on a white horse.
@@peachbottomblues9944 But you're the Incel. Incel.

❤Great Review ❤
There's a reason no one talks about this movie. Because it's awful lol
Yeah? let's see your IMDB filmography.
@@DanJackson1977 Lame take. Try harder.
@@ImOutOfMtDew Except there are Documentaries about it specifically. Get a grip!
@@ImOutOfMtDew Really great content btw 😂
@@Nicolas.Vincent Ohhhh a doc that makes it good? 😂 Nope it's trash

Thanks for the super thanks!! Never got one of those before :)
@@ScaredPale No worries, I really appreciate your reactions so it’s the very least I can do to support.
Didn't care for this one
Over the counter Stay Awake pills have many different brands but they’re all just caffeine tablets in 200mg amounts. See: vivarin, etc
"I don't see why she likes him."
You have something against guys named Jesse? 😂
Lolol nooooo!!!
Did you know about the gay subtext beforehand? It was intentional though many people involved denied it or pretended not to notice.
No I didn’t know about it. So some of it stood out but honestly wasn’t that obvious to me until I edited this video together then I was like….oh ok I get it now.
