Pink Floyd is a different experience than Zeppelin for sure, but both are rock music masters. As many others of said, Floyd plays better listening to the album as a whole. The songs flow into each other and the albums tell a story. That said, their song Comfortably Numb should be on your list, has one of the most famous guitar solos in history. I always recommend studio version before the live version.
Welcome to the world of Pink Floyd! You guys need to do the whole album (Dark Side of the Moon) in one sitting (or two parts). The songs blend together and it's one of their concept albums. btw, they're known for their long intros. The great David Gilmour on guitar and vocals.
Seriously, listen to this song when you're older like 40's upwards the lyrics can hit like a sledgehammer. Especially if you haven't achieved all you wanted. Never get the time back when it's gone
It’s funny so many young listeners get caught up in the music and miss the content! What is really cool is when they realize what is being said. PinK Floyd, so profoundly good on all levels .

"And then one day you find ten years have gone behind you. No one told you when to run...you missed the starting gun." - one of the greatest and truest lyrics ever sung. Masterpiece tune and album.
On the album The Dark Side of the Moon, this track "Time" transitions via a repris of an earlier track "Breathe (in the air)" into a track called "The Great Gig in the Sky" If "Time" makes you stop and think about life, TGGITS will let you contemplate death like nothing else you will ever hear😉
For those who do not know where the name “Pink Floyd” came from…… Syd Barrett - original founder of the band had two favorite Blues Guitar Players in his record collection, two black men, “Pink Anderson and Floyd Council”. One came from North Carolina, (Pink) the other came from South Carolina, (Floyd).
Now you see why headphones are so popular and suggested when it comes to Pink Floyd! I was younger than you guys when I first heard Pink Floyd and that's how I listened to it laying on my bed with headphones and there's nothing like it in the world!!!
Floyd is really an album oriented band. If you want to get the most out of your journey with them then you’ll want to focus on each album. Great stuff!
Yep Zay, “The Floyd” are famous for long intro’s, interludes, passages etc. Patience is the name of the game, because the payoff is more than worth the wait. Welcome to another group on the mountaintop. Nice ridin with you boys. You’ve been killin it!

In "Pink Floyd," the intro is not an intro, but an important part of the song. Pink Floyd also means: Music longer than 3 minutes and the entire album is one part. Very difficult for people of today, but it is worth it. Also trust in "Comfortably numb, pulse concert 1994." The result for this: David Gilmour with the best guitar solo of all time.
In my opinion one of the best guitar solos in history is on Pink Floyd's "Comfortably Numb " live pulse concert in 1994. Mind blowing. Guys, you get the best experience of pink floyd through headphones 🎧 you'll thank me later. Keep it up, 💯
This guitar solo is why David Gilmour is my favorite guitarist. He can make it cry and sing. One of the back up singers is Doris Troy who had a hit in the 60's called "Just One Look"
Pink Floyd creates a universe of sound and then they take you on the tour. The best news is it never ends. I've been listening to this band for 50 years and their music never wears out.
Glad you liked it.Dark Side of the Moon is a concept album, meaning there is a story or theme that runs through the whole album. The first side is about life and death and the 2nd is about the things in life that can lead to madness. One song leads into another so the whole album is like one continuous song so it is best listened to all together.Us and Them is great and very mellow and Money is more of a rocker. Just wonderin have you turned any of your friends on to Zep yet. I think it would be cool to do a reaction with some of your friends in the back seat!
When you start to listen to Pink Floyd, you listen to the music. After a while, you start to listen to the lyrics. That takes you SO DEEP!!!!!! A whole new level!!!

You don't so much listen to Pink Floyd as much as you experience them. They will wash over you, transport you, make you think, make you dream, make you sad, make you happy. Gilmour's guitar will cry, scream, laugh, weep, mourn, and reflect on days gone past. Let them envelop you, savor each note, listen to the lyrics. There is no band like Pink Floyd.
Watching Pink Floyd's masterpiece in the 1970s come back to the younger generation in 2022. This makes me excited every day. I also ran into Pink Floyd from my father, so their expressions matched mine. Like Richard Wright's 04:00 vocals, Pink Floyd is not just music, it is a spiritual experience. (Zay also said spiritual) If I had to choose music to listen to for the rest of my life, I would not hesitate to choose Pink Floyd.
I’ve been listening to this song since I was 12, so 36 years now. And I’ve never gotten tired of it. Hundreds of listens. The meaning of the lyrics hasn’t really changed for me, but it’s become more meaningful, more profound with each passing year. In my opinion, Pink Floyd’s best song, and maybe the best “rock” song of all time
Pink Floyd is a whole vibe. They are masters at making you feel the music on different emotions and will have your brain spinning in deep though. Lyrics are so true in their songs and make you think, yet like David Gilmore’s guitar, or Nick Masons Drums, Wrights keys or Waters bass have so much to say on their own.

That's one of the best sounding Stratocasters I've ever heard. ( the guitar. ) pretty sure this is the black one that David Gilmour sold for charity. Got around a million for it. He said it wS just a guitar to him, held no great value over his others. I was like " WHAT !!?" Man, I've sat in music stores, shops, countless hours playing strats until I found one I loved, and even though I paid less than 2g for it, I feel like I got at least half a million in time spent looking for it. It was stolen once, gone for a year and miraculously a couple young boys walked in a pawn shop trying to sell it, didn't know how much to ask, the guy thought " nobody has a '64 Stratocaster with no clue what it's worth, " checked the hot sheet and damn... I got it back. In good shape ! Anyhow, glad you dug P.F.

We once listened to the entire Dark side of the Moon album played at the laserium show. Zeppelin too. Before we went inside, we hiked down a dirt trail and got high, then went inside. The mid 70’s!
Just found you guys today through your Zeppelin stuff. Loving it. Going to be an off beat request, but it’s worth it I promise! The Main Squeeze, covering Pink Floyds, Have a Cigar. New bands take on a classic.
Back in O.C. Calif when I was 27 my wife heard a commercial on the radio about a P.F. show coming up. Knowing I am a Floyd fan she called the radio station (KMET - LA, “The Mighty Met”) to get information on the concert, The DJ on live radio Cynthia Fox…. said...."Congratulations, YOU are caller number 10, YOU just won tickets to the show and the Sound Check Party before the show"... I met David Gilmour back stage. He gave us both a signed album that I have in my music room. We talked for 22 minutes. I called him…“The Master Of The Stratocaster” He smiled. I told him his music will stand the test of time with anything from Beethoven or Mozart. He smiled even bigger. I asked if I could shake both his hands that make such great guitar solos, he smiled bigger and said “Sure” and shook both hands at the same time, making a cross between us, I smiled HUGE. I asked him to describe his technique of playing guitar, he replied… “I strike a note, bend it, shake it and then release it”…. Yes, he does that quite well, better than any other guitarist I know. . I told him in my eyes he’s a “Legend“. He thanked me and said “Enjoy the show”…. during the concert after the song “Money” he looked right at me and said…. “On saxophone, another Legend, Mr. Scott Page” … acknowledging my comment to him. It is my favorite moment in over 300 shows I’ve seen.
I'm jealous that you're hearing this for the first time....I highly (pun unintentional...but you know....) recommend listening to the ENTIRE release on a good sound system start to finish, the best 43 minutes you'll ever spend....this release is a like a spiritual massage ..... and like wine...it gets better with age
First, I heard this in high school just after it came out during a spare class in a friend's car just after smoking weed. Wow, 65 now and still enjoying only 70's music 🎉🎉 and yeah, still smoking nothing but the best B.C budd!
Since y'all are from NC, here's some info you might like about Pink Floyd. They got the name from two Piedmont blues artists. Piedmont blues is a style of blues that was popular in Durham and other towns in NC years ago. It was played around tobacco warehouses etc. Pink Anderson, from the Spartanburg SC area, and Floyd Council from Chapel Hill NC are the artists they were fans of, and that's how they came up with the name.
You really owe it to yourselves to listen to this entire album in one sitting, it all flows together. It is an excellent record to see just how great stereo actually is when a proper sound engineer is mastering the tracks. The Wall is the same way, listen to the whole thing at once. Enjoy your musical awakening, I am so glad to see the younger generations seeing what came before and really feeling it.
This time period of rock and roll was amazing, I wasn't even though of then, but all the good music came out in the 70s. Pink Floyd and LED Zeppelin are 2 bands that are to be played on Maximum volume Everytime.
LETS GOOOO!!! ECHOES ITS A MUST DO, STUDIO VERSION OR POMPEII LIVE, SOME GREAT SHOTS IN THE LIVE VIDEO THO JUST SAYING, PINK FLOYD WERE GENIOUS JUST LIKE LED ZEPPELIN MAN DAMN
Okay I'm sure doing a complete album side or even a complete album is a totally different animal than just reacting to a song!! So I just want to suggest that once you guys have listen to the songs on Dark Side of the Moon that in your private time you listen to the entire album without stopping because that's really how it is meant to be listened to and it will make a little bit more sense as the songs meld into each other!! Now making this comment before I'm actually watching the entire video it's at the very beginning show at the end I'm a make another comment but I'm excited to see that you guys are getting into some Pink Floyd now so the rabbit hole is deep Brothers!!!
Been into Pink Floyd for 40 years now ,great to see people hearing and experiencing it for the first time,my recomendation if you want to hear some heavy Floyd try Young Lust.

Before we went inside, we hiked down a dirt trail and got high, then went inside.
The mid 70’s!
You guys need to listen to the lyrics, but the key is to listen to the whole album from start to finish. It's an incredible experience.
Wow what a story!!!! Thankyou so much for that! That’s amazing 🙌🎸❤️
OMG Great gig in the sky dudes! Clare Dorey will blow your shoes and socks off!
You guys are on a classic rock journey.
"Money" is a PF great funky song I think of these days. This is a favorite too.
1) I love how much you guys love this track. 2) David Gilmour *definitely* sings with his guitar.
Pink Floyd and LED Zeppelin are 2 bands that are to be played on Maximum volume Everytime.
the guitar solo here always gets me teary eyed everytime. dunno why
LETS GOOOO!!! ECHOES ITS A MUST DO, STUDIO VERSION OR POMPEII LIVE, SOME GREAT SHOTS IN THE LIVE VIDEO THO JUST SAYING, PINK FLOYD WERE GENIOUS JUST LIKE LED ZEPPELIN MAN DAMN
Great appreciation for great music!
Glad you liked it. I strongly suggest to use head or earphones for PF to get the ultimate experience.
Been into Pink Floyd for 40 years now ,great to see people hearing and experiencing it for the first time,my recomendation if you want to hear some heavy Floyd try Young Lust.
You got to be wearing headphones when listening to Pink Floyd it's a must.. there are sounds that you don't hear when listening to it without headphones
great reaction...saw them in the 80s...try it with headphones!
Terrific reaction. If you’d continued to the following song, “Great Gig in the Sky” you’d have been blown away!
great gig in the sky will blow your mind
Gotta listen to this whole album from beginning to end (with good headphones).
Support from Australia 🇦🇺 guy's, was listening to this before you were born, I'm 60 this year, I do BJJ and MMA 6 days a week put this on at training. Ossss take care guy's life's a marathon not a sprint.
Man what!!! You’re a legend, we appreciate your so much and that’s some amazing insight. Thankyou for that my man! 🤝❤️🎸
waiting for the rest of the album and echoes, shine on you crazy diamond ... ;)
Pink Floyd Dark Side of the Moon is absolutely one of the finest musical compositions in the history of humanity.
Pink Floyd Dark side of the Moon, we had parties with blacklight posters and glowing posters on wall, big bean bag chairs and spacing out to the album, plus it was the guys make out music in 1975 on...
***WAZZZUP Z n Z !!*** THANK YOU!!
I am 63, US Coast Guard retired veteran , I now live in Phillipines with a beautiful Filipina wife, in 1972 this album dropped..I was 13, vynil record, headphones..first time Pink Floyd AND my first "J" ... my BEST ... DAY..EVAAAAAH!!
Love And Peace (ya "PUPPIES!!")
.
(Ooops.. my wife saw this reply.. I mean to say "SECOND Best Day...until I married YOU Baby!" .. (( I just SAVED my ass from a woopin! ))
A familiar cocktail from my youth, I remember fondly...The Dark side of the Moon...the automobile-as-kicked-back listening soundspace...and appreciative musical homies riding next to me...The age of discovery. All that's missing (or perhaps not...?) is the pre-session mood calibrator of choice. It was the 70's, so there were choices aplenty.
Incredible song.
