I feel like I am discovering Led Zeppelin again for the the first time! I love seeing you guys react to this great music... PLEASE try Kashmir next... They have so many great songs and Kashmir is definitely one of the most popular, but that isn't why I want you to listen. I just thing you guys would really enjoy it. I don't think the idea of ' how songs are supposed to sound' applies to LZ songs. There are just variations, and the studio version is one - the best they can do in the studio.
yes kashmir! I also think if it hasnt been done (i just discovered Zay & Zei today so im on my second vid only), good ones are over the hills and far away and black dog
@@robbob5302 they placed microphones one floor up a staircase in an old English house they were recording in, and set up the drums on the ground floor. Used the Rolling Stones mobile studio to run the recording, with wires running everywhere from the truck outside.
This song was written in 1929 by Memphis Minnie and Kansas Joe McCoy. Delta blues artists. It’s about the Great Mississippi flood in 1927 and moving to Chicago for work… Most people don’t like cover songs but Zeppelin kills every cover they’ve done!
If Zep didnt cover the blues nobody would know bout these songs, so they actually brought the black american blues into the mainstream. They added so much to the song that i dont really see it as a "cover" but as their song, they killed it!
. Hey guys! Am 63, retired veteran and now live in Philippines.. seeing you "Puppies" ( Respectfully said) dig on my jams from my past makes me smile. Am from Detroit, I saw LZ LIVE in 1976 ... can't top it!! "Peace-Out"!
I saw them in 1975 in London. It's blows my mind and fills my heart full of joy that you two young guys can feel the Thunder of the Gods today. . I will have another glass of wine and dedicate it to Z and Z
I was born in 1953 so I just missed out on the initial appreciation of LZ. In my 20s I liked their music but I never really sat down and listened properly to them. It's s taken me until I'm 70 to become a total obsessed fan. I've heard so many bands over my life and there have been so many great ones, Queen, Metallica and the wonderful Pink Floyd but Zep are the greatest for me. Every song is brilliant. The day these master musicians got together we were blessed. Love your reactions when listening and keep on the Zep trail.
Four immensely talented musicians … the stars and planets were aligned in the cosmos for them to arrive at the same point in time to form the most prolific rock band ever … 50 years have past and their music is still relevant !!!!
The drummer is the legionary John Bonham aka Bonzo. Arguably the Greatest Rock/blues drummer ever. Hell one of the best drummers ever! 😎👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏🔥👏👏🔥👏🔥🔥👏🔥👏🔥👏🔥👏😂👏
It's literally not possible to listen, and re-listen to Zeppelin and not be in utter awe of the music delight they relentlessly deliver. And that you all capture so all in your reactions.
Lol they got you!! Now it’s time to get into more versatile tracks! Ramble On, What is and Should Never Be, Hey Hey What can I Do, Going to California, The Lemon Song, Stairway to Heaven, Kashmir, Your Time is Gonna Come… personally I’d recommend the studio versions before any live versions. Enjoy!!
The drums from this song were some of the most sampled in early HipHop. All the instruments and vocals were recorded at the same speed then the instruments only were slowed half a step in the mixing to help give them that slow, sludgy sound while different vocal effects were added to make his voice extra raspy. In addition, a backward echo effect was added to the harmonica. Not only were they masters at performing, but masters in the studio; guitarist Jimmy Page produced all their albums and made sure he got the best out of the band he possibly could. What their music has is "dynamics", meaning a song changes and evolves, which, consequently, keeps you on your toes. Some of their credos are "light and shade", "tight but loose", and "whisper to the thunder"; these are all terms often used to describe their music. I hope you guys consider starting from the beginning and going in album/track order because you will miss some phenomenal songs if you go by most requested alone. Plus, you will hear their musical evolution in songwriting, instrumentation, performance, everything. You guys are doing great and happy to see two more Zeppelin fans added to the family.
🔥🔥🔥One thing about led is there always bringing something new to the table ,unexpected, different & nonetheless sheer perfection with a whole side of Greatness! TIMELESS MUSIC💫
Led Zeppelin took its inspiration from post WWII delta blues guitar players--repacking and updating these gut stirring songs with a modern RnR vibe. Robert Plant (lead singer) and Jimmy Page (lead guitar virtuoso) were immersed in the old delta blues R&B music and saw the genius in the old songs. Their musical perspective and reverence were a big part of their success.
Love how you guys're loving Led Zeppelin! I was first infected with LZ at 16 (way back in the 80s) - and to this day their music moves me, energizes me, makes me bawl, but mostly: feel ALIVE! - such a gift. So, welcome aboard! When The Levee Breaks one my all time favs: what a stomper! John Bonham - GOAT! And Robert Plant's vocals and harmonica - wow! The drum track such a monster; it's been sampled loads of times, i.e. by Beastie Boys, Eminem, Dr.Dre, Beyoncé, Massive Attack etc. etc.
I love that speechless moment at the end. In reference to your comment about the drummer John Bonham, hoping some day you’ll hear his “Moby Dick” solo.
Really enjoying your reaction! Just for the fun of it, I would suggest you react to their first song on their first album, “Good Times Bad Times”. It was our introduction to them, and listen to the drums in that song.
This band is the GOAT! Theres nothing like music performed by real people that have mastered their instruments and bring it all together, there is no substitute! It's so cool to see the younger generation discovering the legends of rock, your journey has just begun with this band, they have so many masterpieces, looking forward to some more LZ reactions from you guys!
Great reactions guys! If you go down the Led Zep rabbit hole, you might find their is no escape from their musical genius. The "Lemon Song" and "Over the Hills and Far Away" are must hear songs. Thanks for making my day!
You two Dudes are in for a ride and so glad to see you so open minded and willing to open your eyes and ears to new genes of music. I can tell you you will be rewarded for sure and it's such a kick to see your reactions.. Keep going guys...
Led Zeppelin Drummer, John Bonham, along with Rush's Neil Peart, two of the GREATEST DRUMMERS in ALL History! You guys do a fantastic job! Love Led Zeppelin! Keep up the great work/channel!
Although considered a hard rock band, their music was rooted in blues, folk, country. Based on your reactions so far, I don't think there's going to be many, if any, songs you won't like. When the Levee Breaks is classified as country/blues/rock. And yep, they were very young when they started out as a group. Individually gifted, together they were a frigging force. If you're going to dive into LZ, I still recommend that you work your way through their catalogue of songs by starting with album 1, track 1. But if you don't want to go that route, and although I could recommend just about every song, for some early stuff, try Baby Come on Home and How Many More Times for some blues/rock , Babe I'm Gonna Leave You and Ramble On for songs closer to folk/rock, Black Dog and Communication Breakdown leaning more toward just hard rock. Great reaction, guys. Really enjoying listening to LZ with you! Get those headphones quick! ;)
I would have to agree with this comment for any group from that era!! It looks like these guys have definitely started at the early stages of Led Zeppelin so hopefully they'll stay in chronological order!!
I can watch you 2 all day... 😅There is literally NOTHING greater than watching someone getting turned onto Floyd and Zepplin for the first time... You both are the gift that's keeps giving! Keep it up... Looking forward to more...

And even if you don't know the album name.... Trust me.... You will recognise the album Artwork 😎😉
I was 12 when I first heard Led Zeppelin my older brother and his friends played them and all the other great bands all the time. Such great music ! all genres of music were killing it 60s, 70s & 80s
One of the best covers ever. Made it their own. Drumming and the groove is insanely good and lit 🔥. No one comes close to Led Zeppelin. They are the GOAT hard rock act.
Robert Plant...vocals/harmonica Jimmy Page...guitars/Theramin John Bonham...drums John Paul Jones...keyboards...bass...mandolin and just about everything else!
Lads you’ve made my day watching your expressions listening to this stupidly talented band you’ve only just started wait to see them live if you going to do live once check the 69 Denmark 70 Albert Hall Remember they was so so young
I listened to this back in the late '70's and early '80's - rediscovered it many times since - spent last week just rocking out in the car - nearly swerved ;-)
So happy to see you guys enjoy them! Black Dog is another good one to check out next along with soooo many others from them. I grew up with my dad always telling me stories about them and so many other amazing artiest that honestly had talent we don’t get to see now days. Hands down, Led Zep had the best drummer and so unfortunate he passed way too soon.
Awe!! I'm loving your reaction. I was born in 1968. I was raised on classic rock. When I was 11 yrs old I had Led Zeppelin posters and many other British bands posters including the Marlboro Man Poster covering my walls and ceiling. I have so much to add for you two. I'm from Philly. I've been to most concerts that you have finally been introduced to. I've seen most rock concerts at the JFK stadium back in the day cause that was an outdoor event back in 1980's.... Then of course.. the Spectrum!! WOW!! NO ARENA like it since then. I mean, c'mon,. Live Aid was performed there!!! No other place in North America but here in Philadelphia and in Europe, at Wembley Stadium. That concert was in the middle of July and amazingly...growing up then seemed to be the greatest event ever in the world. Why? Cause we were ALL kids!! So much fun. I've seen all these amazing concerts like, the Who, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, Genesis, George Thorogood, The Clash, The Supertramps, U2 (JOSHUA TREE) GRATEFUL DEAD, B-52'S, The O Jay's, and so many more that right now I can't think of with exception to Luther Vandross when I was 15.
Zepplin was the first 'Super Rock Band'- took members of many successful bands & then rewrote things. You are enjoyable to watch, you're doing good work.
You guys look just like me and my friends back in the 70's! Everytime I play Zep at home, I have to pick up the roof shingles in my yard. I'll keep watching.
First time dropping in on your channel. Love your passion for my favorite band ever! You make me go back to when I first bought the album and would vibe out on the family stereo with my headphones on! 🎧 Love it! I hope that you will also go down the Pink Floyd, Heart, Rush, and Tool (and the list goes on and on!) rabbit hole in the future too. So much stink face to be had!
You guys breathe new life into songs I have taken for granted for decades. Love the authenticity of your reactions and the sheer joy and admiration of a truly great band.
you made 3 good choices to discover Led Zeppelin and you still have some tracks to discover to be convinced that it is the best band of all time. After that, I can't wait to see you discover lives. Thank you for your reactions I feel like rediscovering Led Zeppelin with you !
Your reaction was mine 45 years ago. In my car jamming to LZ cruising town. The guys are a top shelf act. It really doesn't get much better for classic rock. My daughter in law and granddaughter love them too!
So.... I've been binge watching your reactions to The Zepp and I am loving it!! It really warms my heart seeing a younger gen enjoy the music I grew up on! Enjoy the ride!!!
It’s been amazing watching you guys react the same way we reacted when we first heard it. It brings us back to those many mind blowing moments. Thank you for that. It’s as fun for us as it is for you. Enjoy!
Like Nichole DiSaia says, the first time you hear something this good is reborn seeing others feeling it as you did many years before. Gentlemen, you have so much more to hear and not just Led Zep, enjoy the ride!
It's like you guys breathed new vigor into my life. Watching you guys makes me as hyped up as back in my days. That stank face? I've had it since high school. Love you guys Love your names. Because of your names (2, Z's) a non Zep song Zor And Zam. Have fun guys see you next video! ✌️
Memphis Minnie. Was the first person to record this song back in 1929. They often rook songs from the southern black dinners/songwriters. England had never heard of southern blues back then and Zeppelin brought it to England in their rendition of these songs. It's now in the public forum being nearly 100 years old.
Thank you I loved your reaction Same as mine in 1971 , 19 year old me watching them do this on their tour after this album just came out An incredible experience. You should explore more from this era Ya I’m 72 years old now
Yes this is definitely one of the more prominent drum rhythms that Bonham has done!!! If you were to ask any member of Led Zeppelin what is it that makes their sound so incredible and unique, undoubtedly they would each say John Bonham!! John Bonham is recognized by most rock drummers even the best as probably the most Innovative and best drummer of rock ever!!! If you really want to see John Bonham at his best look for the song Moby Dick live from 1970!! Features an incredible drum solo by John Bonham where, in the middle of it, he starts to play with just his bare hands!!!
Masterpiece!!! THAT GROOVE!! They are all geniuses. Thank you for the reaction. So agree with Julie Manarin Please do some live stuff! They did this song only a handful of times live - but there's so much more out there from live filmed performances and bootleg - It's a whole different experience. ☮

Robert Plant...vocals/harmonica
Jimmy Page...guitars/Theramin
John Bonham...drums
John Paul Jones...keyboards...bass...mandolin and just about everything else!
The greatest band that ever was, is, or will ever be from the best country on Earth.
Lads you’ve made my day watching your expressions listening to this stupidly talented band you’ve only just started wait to see them live if you going to do live once check the 69 Denmark 70 Albert Hall
Remember they was so so young
I can 't wait for you guys to watch them live at Madison Square garden . It is Going to blow your minds . So much fun watching you guys react .
Made my day watching you guys enjoy the best band ever!
Some of John Bonham’s best drumming is in “In My Time of Dying”. Y’all will love that one for sure!
Ha, you guys are awesome. This is exactly what we looked like driving around in our cars, blasting Led Zeppelin loud, head bangin!
Love it! I hope that you will also go down the Pink Floyd, Heart, Rush, and Tool (and the list goes on and on!) rabbit hole in the future too. So much stink face to be had!
Wow that’s amazing! We appreciate you and we are most definitely going down that path!
Love your comments!! ZeppelinForever
I remember back in the 70's attending high school parties where groups of guys were "air guitaring" to all the Led Zeppelin songs.
The Mighty Zeppelin.
Your reaction was mine 45 years ago. In my car jamming to LZ cruising town. The guys are a top shelf act. It really doesn't get much better for classic rock. My daughter in law and granddaughter love them too!
Great to see your Zep passion guys! The music lives on! Start with the first album and go through it. Amazing stuff!
Appreciate you so much man!
WHOLE LOTTA LOVE
You guys are my new favourite reaction duo!
We appreciate you man fr!!! ❤️
You two are truly an inspiration. Add "Traveling Riverside Blues" to your journey!!
Badass! I wish I was chillin with and listening to the greatest band of all time. Good shit, fellas.
This came out in 1971 guys. John Bonham on drums. Saw them live in '1969 when I was 15; great reaction!
Again...LOVE watching you guys discover Zep!
It's like you guys breathed new vigor into my life. Watching you guys makes me as hyped up as back in my days. That stank face? I've had it since high school. Love you guys
Love your names.
I called Stankface Maximus within 5 secs and you guys didnt disappoint
Us old Fu*ks really did have the best music
Biggest Band in the world!!
Musicianship and vocals out of this world.
Thank you I loved your reaction
Same as mine in 1971 , 19 year old me watching them do this on their tour after this album just came out
An incredible experience. You should explore more from this era
Ya I’m 72 years old now
I’m jealous. Wish I could hear zeppelin for the first time again. But then again they’ve a part of my life 😂
Yes this is definitely one of the more prominent drum rhythms that Bonham has done!!!
This one is haunting because it’s about the flood. Always gets to me. Keep on going down this Led Zeppelin rabbit hole guys, they’re all so different!
And with climate change hitting hard now, thematically it is more relevant than ever
