      I own a 2004 FX35 paint is called liquid copper and a 2012 Genesis, Platinum Metallic...clay bared over 2 years ago, used everything under the sun, nothing compares with TW ceramic spray, both these cars look amazing. I am one of these guys that could never get a car shiny enough, well TW ceramic has finally got the shine I strived for, for over 55 years!

    Nice review. Watched on 1.5x playback this got the point across without wasting half my day. I've been using the meguiars since June. Can't believe how simple the process of waxing a vehicle has become. I rejected these types of "quick wax" spray-on products for years because I didn't think it was possible to get excellent results without hard work, like some crotchety old man. Now I actually enjoy detailing my vehicles again.

    I have some real world results. I applied Meguiars HCW to my new suv twice in the 13 months that I’ve had it, and used the Hybrid Ceramic Detailer after some washes.
    Results:
    1. SUV always looks slick and shiny. Even when it gets dusty, you can hardly see the dust as there is so much shine that it gets lost. You really have to look for it, or rub your finger through it.
    2. When it rains and I’m on the road, the water beading is so good that by the time I get home and drive it into my garage, it is completely dry, and I mean completely dry-no towel required.
    3. It is so easy to apply, especially wax(which you can just rinse after applying), and it has a great smell.
    For these reasons, Meguiars is my choice!

    • @largol33t12
      @largol33t12 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Er, be careful there. Just because there's no water on the paint doesn't mean there's no road grit. I'd still completely rinse down the car with a hose and then dry it. You might be surprised how filthy the water is when you rinse and see it running all over the garage floor. I've done this once and the rinse water was full of very tiny black specks, which obviously came from the road. Just rub your hands on it. It might feel gritty. Trust me, your paint WILL feel that grit. That's why I sometimes cringe a bit when I see neighbors pull into their driveway and immediately wipe down their expensive-ass car. Soon, their clearcoat will need a professional detailer to buff out all the scratches again...

    Turtle Wax Ceramic wipes off easier than Meguiars Hybrid after cure time. Turtle Wax lasts a bit longer and is safer on plastics. Turtles Wax beads slightly better. Turtle Wax receives fewer complaints. It is a personal preference, they both do well but got to give the advantage or upper hand to Turtle Wax. For natural warmth and gloss with nice shine just use a carnauba wax paste.
    Using a spray wax or sealant is just temporary and needs to be done every month to keep up the great appearance. Remember that Ultra Violet/sun light, oxidation, nature such as tree sap, bug splatter, bird droppings, acid rain, weather, and road contaminates will wear and diminish any wax and paint job. Auto manufacturers are doing you no favor as they put a thin layer of premium paint and a clear coat so thin that without a professional sealant you are done for. Beware and use caution with any silicone / silica-based products as they are harmful to you and the environment. I would avoid using synthetic ceramic products and go back to the basics. Probably best to use Meguiars Ultimate Liquid Wax or Turtle Wax. Spray is the easy and quick way, that is 15 to 20 minutes per coat which you should do 2 coats if not 3 taking 1 hour of your time and another 20 to 30 minutes to properly wash, in time you'll spend several hours trying to keep your vehicle looking nice each month as you will need to wash each time before re-doing the spay technique. Better off spending 3 to 5 hours and give your car the beauty treatment it deserves and save yourself time in the long run. Oh! if you think cleaning and waxing your car is tough, try cleaning and treating a military aircraft or civilian aircraft. We do a lot of repainting and touch-ups, but no wax job. It's bad to have static electricity. Have you ever seen a big flash in the sky?

  • @Altruistic00
    @Altruistic00 5 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    I haven't used the TW product yet since it's not available in my country but from my 3 months use of Meguiars HCW, if you apply it properly using the wet towel method and top it off every wash using the pressure washer method, one bottle will definitely last you for a LONG time no joke. It's pretty thick & you'll only need a spray or two on a panel & you're good to go. Mind you I live in the extreme tropical climate of South East Asia with blistering heat & also super torrential monsoon rains for days & so far HCW seems to hold up pretty well.

    So I just used the Maguire's on my new black Ram and since I had already spray waxed it once, and per directions I did not perform the more laborious initial treatment. Protection died in 4 days bad. Was it due to freezing or just time...idk. honestly I feel the quality of waxes and sealants took a giant step back since the reduction of VOCs in car care began.
      We're just starting to catch back up to where we were 15+ years ago. VOCs create ozone and that's bad but the synthetic candy shell it produced back then would last months longer than any otc stuff out now. Bittersweet compromise to me as no one talks about VOC acrylics that would flash as you applied it and threw away the microfiber towel because it would crystallize. DIMETHICONE will never catch up to the protection of acrylic. Ever.

      I have been using the turtle Wax ceramic for a couple of weeks on about four different vehicles now. And several motorcycles. It is NOT difficult to remove. It appears so, because you get some streaking. If you have covered the panel with product the streaking is no issue. Leave it alone. When you are done wipe down the vehicle with a very damp to wet microfiber towel and let it dry. No more streaking perfect finish.

    • @tonymattisson6158
      @tonymattisson6158 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Test to do a thorough prep and you will see a big difference in the longrun performance. These kind of products does excell when you thoroughly get the paint clean. Use products to decon the paint that leaves nothing behind as in protection and glossenhancers. Then even clay and use a panel prep wipe product of some kind. And apply the products in good conditions as in no high humidity and out of the sun and heat or extreme cold. I had TW ICE Seal N Shine fail after 6 weeks when I applyied it on in high humidity as it started to rain directly after the SNS was applyied literally. It where a mess to apply and wipe it off. Gived it another go in a better weather conditions and got almost 5 months longevity from it side by side with the HCW that's used in this video. Thoroughly preped but not polished and still getting great longevity from them. So it's possible to get a great longevity even if you don't polishing. It's more certain to get all of the contaminants off by also polishing and get off any residue left by the polish is easier with a panel prep wipe product to get a squeeqe clean paint to apply any LSP on it. You can also use a paint cleaner by hand that leaves nothing behind as in protection and glossenhancers and then a panel prep wipe product wipe down afterwards. And getting great results if you don't have a polisher or a paint in very good condition that don't need to be polished. Especially SiO2 based products can be finicky to bond so hard as they need to be doing on a not so well preped paint. Prep is key as many says and that's especially true with these kind of products used in this video.

      I think either one will do well. Just avoid Chemical Guys. They're all fluff and no substance, LOL. But TW and Meguiars have established their reputations through hard work. Consider this, Meguiars got its start making coatings for furniture varnish and then the invention of the car caused them to branch out into car care products. Yes, Meguiars has been around for over a CENTURY, making it the oldest car care products brand in the world...

    hey luke hope the holidays were filled with special moments that will be cherished memories with the ones u love....good review and what I like is that u didn't rub in the chemicals....our vehicles get contaminated with chemicals but they don't get "rubbed in" to or vehicles....so your durability is more realistic than when panel gets sprayed then wiped in...well done...fyi...I have used the hybrid solutions spray....prepped correctly etc 2 coats...used wet wax after 1st wash....after 2nd wash I topped with puris jade A68 reboot 2.0....the gloss, depth and clarity of the paint was VISIBLY greater than with the wet wax...I first did trunk half and half with the two.....try this combo.....crazy glossy, slick and easy to maintain. be well my friend

    I really like the new Turtle Wax Products. But not the Hybrid Ceramic Wax(non black version).
    I completed my 2019 Honda Ridgeline.
    I first thoroughly cleaned the truck.
    I polished with 5" rotary, using blue foam pad, and using Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Polish&Wax. This worked nicely for application, clean-off, and swirl removal.
    I waited a few days and applied the Turtle Wax Hybrid Ceramic Wax. This I didn't like! Apply and wiping off left light&dark streaking, uneven.
    I had to wipe down with a damp microfiber cloth and immediately with a dry microfiber.
    I have used the TW ICE Wax and Detailing on my Corvette. Works easily, and has the shine.
    I will not buy the TW Ceramic Wax or Detailer again!

    • @ronchappell216
      @ronchappell216 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Coincidence - I picked up my 19 Ridgeline last fall and have been using the Meguiar's HCW on it. And, I've really been mis-using it. I didn't do a full prep before the first application, just applied to the "clean" surface right after I bought it. I've been refreshing it about once a month. Just two or three sprays per panel then rinsing mostly w/ garden hose pressure (flat spray pattern). No rubbing or polishing. For what I want that's been SO easy and has given me good beading and good gloss (so far). I'm 80% through one bottle now after six months. To me it's amazingly easy to use and gives a great result.

    After using both of these. The Meguiars HCW smells better. Has an easier application process, and stays cleaner. Water blows off much easier after say a rain storm. The TW feels slicker to the touch but doesn't seem as hydrophobic. The TW is definitely more chemical resistant. Gloss wise they're about equal. (2019 MX5 RF in Soul Red Crystal is the test car) What I'm going to do is keep the TW as a base and use the Megs as an after wash topper.

    You don't see much difference, because they are chemically the same. Slight differences in fragrance, maybe color, but the actives are the same. If you were the active ingredients salesman and TW had a killer new product, don't you think you would go knock on Meguires door as well? Even easier now that Meguires is 3M.
