I originally used this product on my brand new dark blue sedan and my wife's three-year-old dark blue SUV back in mid-February, in both cases applying a second coat after waiting 24 hours. I clayed, polished (TW Hybrid Solutions Polish), and prepped the SUV with an IPA prior to application, but did nothing to prep my sedan other than washing and using an IPA to clean the panels. It has now been almost seven months and both vehicles are holding up extremely well. The gloss is still extremely good on both cars and water beads and sheets like crazy when it rains and during washing. I admittedly use a drying aid when washing both vehicles, (TW Hybrid Wet Wax in the case of the sedan and P&S Bead Maker in the case of the SUV), but I am beginning to wish that the protection would fail so I can try something else. My impression of this has been that it is extremely easy to use and it performs as advertised.
Having ordered this product from Amazon only to find no english instructions I turned to TH-cam and happened upon your video which helped greatly. I washed my canvasite blue Merc and my wife's silver grey Volvo V40 with Turtle's ceramic wash product. I then dried the cars and applied the ceramic coating both by direct spraying and wiping on as per your method. It's winter here in north Essex, UK and 10.5c. All I can tell you at this point is both application methods worked and a streak free result was obtained. My purpose in all of this is to get 1 winter's worth of cars staying cleaner when our roads are mucky and awful. We'll see...
I got incredible results with this product. I applied two coats 24 hours apart on two vehicles and I did get nearly one year of water repellency. I also use waaaay more than two sprays per panel.
@@AzanAli- Same. The smears on my black car are unworkable using this product.. will try the damp cloth method tomorrow morning but Im staring at it on my driveway and its terrible.
Greetings from the USA. My Taurus is dark grey. I did run into some streaks on the hood, (used a little too much), however took a damp microfiber cloth (used distilled water) and gently leveled. It got rid of those streaks. Excellent product and I'm very satisfied. Great video - keep up the great work!!
I have a black car and have found that if I start by spraying my microfiber towel twice with the ceramic spray, i can then I spray the panels and gently wipe the panel with the same cloth, I don't get the streaks. I then wipe it off with a dry cloth. If I fail to spray the cloth itself beforehand it always streaks in my black car.
Keep both videos... they are both honest experiences... & I really liked the honesty. I too had the streaking experience but found that either a quick wipe with a damp cloth or Rinse & towel dry cleared it. Having used the TW hybrid for over a year now. I also do this.. wash the car with PH Neutral products, then using a cheap garden pressure spray bottle Two or three caps of TW Ceramic wash & wax shampoo & Fill with water, & spray over the car liberally, and leave a couple of minutes...then rinse off & towel dry... the protection really builds up, It's really easy & the beading on my car (Gunmetal type metallic gray) is excellent! (I wash the car about every two weeks.)
Love this stuff. Spray your towel and the panel. Give it a heavy crosshatch coat. Use the slightly damp towel to smooth it out. Reapply in 24 hrs and you are good to go for months.
you got me into car detailing/valeting, started up my own business whilst doing a levels and just done my first two step/stage enhancement the other day. Still love watching your content very funny and informative :)
I put this on a 2013 ford fusion, black with flakes and I had zero issues. I applied two coats, and waited a week to wash my care with CG's "hydrowash ceramic soap" (not sure if thats the name) and the water beading was incredible. The car looks amazing (Like a mirror in the sun) and was easy to clean and dry. I also put it on my glass, tires, and mirrors. I didn't even need to use my wipers the rain just blew off.
@@epicautomotivedetailingyou have to learn the knack to using this product. This product is so easy for me. I just apply it to a 2x2 section at a time and wipe it with dry cloths until I see it disappear.
I have a 2024 Mazda CX-50 in dark gray metallic (Mazda refers to it as machine gray metallic). After washing and drying, I applied the first coat of TW Hybrid solutions first by spraying directly onto vehicle and then onto a microfiber cloth. I decided not to wait 24 hours and applied the second coat about 2-3 hours later. So far so good. Leaves a really nice finish that really shines in the hot Texas sunlight. Didn't notice any streaking despite the dark color.
Literally adjust finished doing my car, Ara blue rs 3 saloon. It was a nightmare to get off once applied on a 11c day. After trying a few different things I found to put slightly more on than they say, spread well and leave to dry. Buff with fluffy clean micro and all is goof. Impressed with shine even on a cloudy day. Will second coat tomorrow 👍
LOVE your candor! Though I am 3 years late seeing this video, I am a female watcher and subscriber to your auto detailing channel, who's recently purchased a new car that she details weekly. Glad you revisited applying the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wax Spray. I LOVE that product and have used it on my car which is a dark color. What really makes it pop is the Graphene Flex Spray, also from the Hybrid Solutions line. Not sure if you've tried that one, but it's excellent on any color of a car, but especially darker-colored cars.
Glad to see you gave it another go, I do have a garage so application is easier. It definitely is not a 12 month wax, 2 coats will give you 6 months at best. Great on the windshield as it beads the water in a rain storm.
I fully agree. Similar to Maguire's hybrid spray. Amazing product, just a bi/%h to apply. I've just gotten in from putting the 1st coat on my wifes black Forester. After a couple of pannels I remembered you saying "less is more" wow did that make it easier. Thank you for the help 👍
I bought this as it was a stupid price on Amazon with the attraction of 12 months protection. I did both coats 24hrs apart on a 2017 Volvo V40 and a 2019 Toyota Yaris. I did the spray on the cloth technique which definitely helps with the over spray, I found it applied well but the buffing was hard work and quite a workout. Now it's been done (2nd coat now curing) it gives an amazing finish and quite honestly better than the Autoglym ceramic spray which has a shorter life and a higher price. I've put 2 coats on the diamond cut wheels so hoping it helps to keep the brake dust down. We will see how long it lasts but so far so good and pleased with the high gloss finish I've been left with.
I’v been cleaning my car other day, and I’v applied that coating all over my car including windows and black/chrome trims, and it’s astonishing! Of course starts raining an hour later, so excited how it beats water. You don’t even need to use wipers. 👌👌
RainX does better for glass honestly. This stuff is incredible for the finish considering how little is needed and how much you get for the price though.
Be careful with FogX btw. If you smoke or vape or the glass isn't spotless and dry before you'll get a rainbow effect. Of course RainX or this applied inside will do worse because of humidity though....lol.. never use RainX or a product like this inside the vehicle.
@@CynHicks I’m never using anything on glass inside car, just cleaning with magic sponge water, then wipe dry cloth. No smudges, and I hate smudges really bad. Had fogx kind a thing ages ago on mine first car when over a winter fan wasn’t working, but film was left on glass and I can’t stand it🤷♂️
@@epicautomotivedetailing it does cause it silver, and paintwork isn’t perfect either, water beating was what I looked for, and did work for few months 😉
I've used this on 2 new cars now--Acura MDX and Ford Expedition, both metallic silver. Great results on both--slippery smooth and water beads like crazy, but not sure how long they last yet (it's only been a few months on the Acura, and just today on the Expedition). I put two coats on, waiting 24 hours between each, then letting the last coat "cure" an additional 24 hours before exposing to elements--everything done in a garage. One thing I noticed is that the quality of the paint definitely affects results on application. The Acura has thick smooth paint with little orange peel, plus I clayed it before application. Putting the product on I had very few smears, and those that did happen came right out with a little extra rubbing. The depth of shine on that thing was incredible. The Expedition paint quality is not as good as the Acura, plus I did not clay it before putting the product on. Therefore the paint is not as slippery smooth as the Acura because of small imperfections--feels rougher. The depth of shine is not as good either, and smears were more of a problem (but still not really difficult to deal with). But still impressed, assuming it will last. I also bought the Turtle Wax companion product (Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Wet Wax), which you are supposed to spray on after washing while the car is still wet--spray on then dry with towel as you normally would. This is supposed to make the coating last indefinitely if you use it after each wash, but we'll see.
Dave, your glass cleaning method....wort y of legend! About the spray, I found working on black paint, I had to have a damp cloth to hand once I applied and buffed to go over it again to take out the smears that were left. once done the results were fine. I didn't like this product at first as I felt far too much effort was needed to apply 2 coats and as you say via the instructions allow 24 hours for it to cure before further application. On my silver Passat I went on well, however after the first couple of washed the hydrophobics went south really quickly (bearing in mind I had not applied any of Turtle wax hybrid solutions wet wax or the detailer) once applying the wet wax on the next wash, hydrophobics came back with no issue. Think another go will be in order, thanks for another great vid and tips.
Thanks Phil. One thing that is clear is the fact this probably the most unpredictable product I have ever used in my life. Next ceramic spray I got is from yum cars so that should be interesting because they are seriously good
TW still suggests you apply in shade, but overcast or early morn, or near sundown works well too. I have found that in higher temperatures, besides shade, it helps to apply by spraying a slightly moist microfiber towel with the product, then levelling any stubborn buildup with the the clean side of the moist towel.
I used autofinesse oblitarate during prep, but the instructions didnt mention wash again before lsp. So ive used this tw ceramicvhybrid spray, but now need to take it off, contact wash any tar remover reminents and re-apply...what is best to remove the tw ceramic coating? Tia
Just got pointed to you from Paul Dolden - like the content and your style, well done fella. Subbed. The TW range has worked for me on 2 cars, wife’s selenite grey merc and a pearl red DS3. Merc was in very good nick, it lives with me so gets good, regular, careful maint washes and had a 2 stage DA Megs 105/205 minor correction the previous year and sat outside by the sea under NXT wax. Been a Megs guy for years but fancied a go at some weekend warrior ceramics you can use in the open, and TW reviewed well for that purpose at the start of this year, so went that route four the merc’s spring spritzer. This time, (hot April sunny weekend) it got a foam, wash, clay, TW ceramic one stage DA polish and then TW ceramic spray coated the next day - an unseasonable hot day. Result was fine but you had to be quick in the sun while spreading fairly lightly in a cross pattern and I used the damp towel before final buff too. If you try to rub too hard or buff the initial spray application, that is where the problems start imo. Just get it sprayed on, immediately spread it relatively lightly, give it 30 secs and use a damp towel to level it before the buff. Daughter’s DS3 was a bit of a shit box, not much maint washing done in 3 years of her ownership. Seemed softer paint than the merc, so roughly the same process, foam, wash, Tardis lower half, clay, single stage TW ceramic with localised 2 stage in problem areas, and all was good again in the hot sun on quite darkish pearl red. This time it was windy so I sprayed it it to the towel instead of to the car and it also worked fine. One thing I do like in their range is the ceramic wet wax. Super easy to use and maintains the hydrophobic properties, meaning that I probably don’t have to use the ceramic spray coating as often as I would. Just done my silver Freelander 2 this weekend which was in a right state from the previous owner. Used old school decon routine with lots of Tardis down low, a clay and started on a TW ceramic machine polish on the bonnet. It didn’t touch most of the defects, so will be going back to Megs 105/205 combo (or heavier if I have to) to get that right on very hard (seemingly even harder than the merc) paint when I have more time. Then it’ll probably get a TW ceramic spray over that, but for the moment it will have to sit under some old Megs NXT wax protection with its defects intact but looking okayish from 10 feet away. I see the TW range as a keen amateur’s product that gives good results IF you follow the instructions to the letter and recognise their limitations - especially the one stage polish, it is very mildly abrasive. Using the maint wash ceramic stuff seems to keep its hydrophobic properties going well. But that stuff isn’t cheap (unless you just buy 2 bottles for 22.50 with the 10 quid off 30 quid spent discount code they just reminded me I had)! TLDR, horses for courses but it meets what I expect of it.
I must thank Paul for the mention. I've got the hang of it a bit more now. I was bang out of order saying what I did but i was expressing the anger that many people had with it. It's working great at the moment now the Temperature has dropped. Thanks for watching mate 👍
Tested this on a black Tesla yesterday, and almost had a heartattack when I tried wiping it off. Streaks everywhere. Then I learned, use a damp microfiber in one hand to wipe out the 2-3 sprays with. Then use a dry microfiber in other hand to wipe off with. Worked perfect.
Glad you revisited this. I fully committed with their system, decon, polish etc. Waited 24hrs and still the spray was difficult to apply. I ended up doing similar to you, multiple clothes. The car looked great...in the end! If I was doing it for a living I wouldn't reach for it either Protection seems good. Deffo not putting it on my Windows😁 Cheers, Simon
@@epicautomotivedetailing I squeezed it in to the garage and did it over a few days during lock-down in between working at home as car wasn't in use. Wouldn't want to do it again LOL.
I had a major problem with smearing with this product on my black fiesta. I would have to do tons of buffing afterwards with a damp cloth and then a dry cloth. I think ill try your methods of spraying it onto the cloth and also making sure its a cool day.
Can you apply it in cold , in like +5 Celcius ? If you apply it on top of Glaze , Poor's boys black hall for example . How long both of them last on daily driver kept outside ?
i tried using a damp rung out quality rag company towel to applicate this stuff . then let it haze and wipe off with a dry towel. seemed to work well and even. It was 5 am and humid. The towel seemed to "grab a little but eventually got smoove . I have a new black truck so paint was good . I hand washed and clay toweled first.
I wouldn't worry about it blowing into the glass. I use this stuff instead of rain-x now. It's way more effective in my tests. I guess, equally effective but much longer lasting. just needs a dry cloth to wipe smears off at the end. I also just apply it in my garage, rather than taking a chance on weather. I've had awesome results with this on my dark grey Golf. It doesn't say anything on the bottle I have but I'm sure my last bottle said not to use it in direct sunlight. Might have been the issue with the last car.
@@epicautomotivedetailing Did my brand new Polo yesterday, (Reef Blue /Black roof), spraying it on the cloth,, no streaks or smears, !!!,, also did the diamond cut wheels too, !! Looks fantastic,, thinking of getting the Auto Finesse Lavish, as a maintenance treatment, what do you think, ??
Just got in, from doing the Ceramic Turtle-wax on my Jag XKR, medium Pearl grey, I washed & clayed, then (with trepidation) began applying the “stuff” as directed but like you, quickly changed over to squirting directly to the micro-fibre. I did the windows, chrome and paint-panels all at the same time. The stuff is brilliant!! Looking forward to doing again in 24hrs. 👍🏻🇨🇦😎
I had a Similar Experience the First time I used it,,I think my Second Application was Much better But I Don't know why . I put it on my 2020 Barracuda Silver Low rider S Harley Davidson.. She looks Super..
For a 1yr old car with a weekly automated carwash - can't DIY- no water supply in my garage, do i need to apply rubbing compound first before applying the ceramic spray?
Thanks for the vid mate i used it on my black car it was naf to start with then the damp cloth trick and all was fine no problems i will continue to use it until its empty then may try something else not one for shelves of half empy tubs but thats me and the flunky is still working
Well done I probably should of just carried on with the old video till ingot it right but glad I tested it again. It wasn't too bad but then this paint was very different
@@epicautomotivedetailing I still like using wax though and my old winter combo of collinite 476 topped every 4 washes with aqua wax got me through 6 months no problem
@@simonturnbull5011 go for it. Whatever works for you so many people are so quick to judge if you use a product that they don't like. I'm the same use what makes u happy 👍
Ok, I used a quick trick someone sent me after my earlier comment.👍 Here it is- Apply the Polish as advised, then wipe over with a damp cloth (almost dry) - then proceed to buff up! Doesn’t take as much effort and It is absolutely amazing! Can’t say any more than that! Good luck.😁👍
@@wilacam11 I originally buffed up straight after rubbing with damp cloth. Only 30 minutes ago I used it again for a second time and it’s worked a dream without a damp cloth. Absolute pleasure to use. Spray on , quick polish off. Yep, 1st coat a nightmare but 2nd + brilliant! Hope this helps?
The Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic wax can be used on glass as well as bodywork so over spray is never a problem. More to the point it is excellent on both glass and bodywork too
I've used this on my last two cars, one black and one deep red and it just smeared all over the paintwork. No amount of buffing would get the smears to go away. Yes it has a lot of rain repellancy but the smears drove me nuts.
After testing on several cars, I apply with an applicator pad, buff, wet towel, buff. A lot of work and STILL may find some streaking which i take out with a traditional carnuba wax. I am definitely not over applying the ceramic product. I did have some good results with the Ceramic Wet Wax but the Ceramic spray coating is much too much work for me. I'm coming to the conclusion that I need a product that hazes for streak and coverage control.
I have similar problem. I've just recently used this for the first time, I washed/dried, decontaminated vehicle (tar/iron/clay). I applied two coats, (24 hours apart), following the instructions to the letter. Everything seemed ok, no streaks/runs/excess etc. Dry streaks started appearing approx 4 hours after application of both coats, which were extremely difficult to buff off.
Used this product when it first came out and hated it, so streaky and a ballache to buff off. However tried it again recently and it was absolutely brilliant and so easy to use. Strange
Dave, give the Yellow wet wax one a go. That is good. No smears! Good on you for trying this product again...I am still stuck with a bottle of it. Ceramic coated the rubbish bin the last day :)
I’ve just tried the Turtle Wax Ceramic range for the last couple of months and It’s pretty good but not blown me away. The all in one polish was excellent stuff. I found any streaks are easily sorted with a slightly damp microfibre which is common on a lot of these SiO2 sprays. I’ve recently tried a sample of Car-Chem Lockdown which is a similar spray sealant. I think it was slightly easier to use but a damp MF was still required at times for the odd streak. I have a few Garage Therapy bits on their way including Three so I’ll see how that compares. I’m planning on using that in a month or two to see me through the winter.
Nice one Chris yeh think more winter tests are due I got 2 more ceramic sprays that I may film later as it's freezing today. Let us know how you get on with Garage Therapy 👌
Got a new video in this coming out at the weekend my friend. Going through the process on black paint. It's definitely unpredictable that's for sure. Some days it's easy some not so easy. Never known a product like it
Definitely easier on lighter colors. I have a white car and it went on easy. I also have dark blue almost black car and you could see the haze. This made me go back and buff the white car since i thought maybe it had high spots and i just couldn't see it.
I like your honesty. I tried this on my grey astra the week before your vid and i wasnt impressed. I've GT'd mine and its looks great. I prefer turtles wet n wax. Used that on my folks car and its great. And show some love for your nan's Volvo! Looks ace. Nice wheels 😁
Bang video dude I've tried some turtle wax hybrid solutions and it doesn't spread easy it's robust but a bit of a ball ache buffing off and yes much better to spray it on the cloth thanks again 👌👍👏👏👏👏😊
Hello. Do you recommend this product to a newbie :) which doesnt have a garage. I will apply this thing outdoors like you. Will it last 12 months with 2 coats? Do i really have to wiat to apply second coat?
I sprayed my bumper an now it’s gone dull tried to polish it with meguiars but it won’t bring the shine back any recommendations how to get the shine back without having to spray it with clear coat again
It takes a while before it gets fully absorbed into a towel. Spraying it then wiping wont do any harm just like applying blob of wax on an applicator pad :)
I just applied this today, only had the car from new for 2 years so didn’t bother clay barring or polishing (although there were a few tar spots) So I washed the car Meguiars wash n wax and then tried it. I used a meguiars applicator pad to apply, another cloth to buff off and then another one to really make sure it was silky smooth. So far it looks great. I have previously used meguiars hybrid ceramic spray wax and while the beading on that was amazing and Better than this turtle wax tbh. It literally came off after one wash with meguiars wash n wax ( a ph neutral shampoo) I applied it perfectly and it was great until it just came off. I reapplied it by spraying on wet car and rinsing off but it was never the same. So I’m hoping this turtle wax has better chemical resistance and will last longer, although I’ve only done one coat so far
I did a recent video on a karcher and I returned to Tesla model X few months later after applying this. I have to say it's unreal ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was way too quick to judge First time using it
Dave. Need an index/ quick ref attached to each vid. There is two I need to find in back of my mind. I saw briefly or heard you mention. That I will try and find now.... 1: applying products to black cars. 2: your window method.
Epic vid. Got a bit scared for a moment at 3:53 thought the crappy background music from meguiars videos was following me about. Once I got over that thought great vid as usual thanks Dave (first vid you appear uncomfortable with products I've seen) as supporters of your work I take your opinion seriously. I prefer turtle Wax sealant/ice. Leave the old vid up. Balanced view different days different car. Real life experience. I don't think any less of you. Thank you for the videos.
I admire the fact you took the time out to give the product another go by making another video with a different car. So couple of comments..firstly (and correct me if I'm wrong) but isnt the product you used a protective 'coating' more than it is a polish? And since TW also do a ceramic polish (which is also a cleaner), to my mind it makes sense you perhaps should use that first THEN apply the coating product? I think the way you have done it is you have tried to use a 'quik detailer' coating product as a type of 'all-in-one' which its not and I doubt theres any product out there which is. If I'm right it might explain why you got better results on this car than the one in the previous video, since one explanation is the paint on this car was already in better condition when you started than it was on the Range Rover?
Hello David, yeh your right it's a protective coat not a polish but the idea I wanted to point out that most people using it wouldn't of bothered clay barring or polishing first. People only read the bits they want to see. So the way it was marketed was like this (spray on wipe off for a perfect finish) but to get that finish u need to do all the steps before hand to paint. So that's why I was annoyed too because I wanted to get in that mindset of an average Joe. For me the reason this sucked was because of the weather. I truly believe that was the difference between the applications. Range was done on scorching hot day. Volvo was done on cool day so I think that's the reason it didn't quite go to plan. That and the fact I wasn't having a good day anyways lol
@@epicautomotivedetailing Yea I totally get it. TW I think have produced a great product with this ceramic range by all accounts but have done themselves a disservice in the way the coating product is marketed. In fairness though, its not dissimilar to what their competitors do. To my mind though watching your first video I didnt really expect an amazing result from a spray on wipe off product lol. Products such as this are for detailing after all the hard work is done. There's still no substitute for hard buffing with a good polish/cleaner (and a clay bar first if required). I've just ordered their polish and coating (even though my cars only 5 years old and the paint is in great condition) and I expect a great result used in that order. I suspect you using that coating protectant on an average paint and in the sun just resulted in the product working its way into the degraded paint instead of sitting on the surface. From there it sounds like it became impossible to get out with the resultant average finish.
@@Freedom_Now_2024 was a really silly video on my part. I'm waiting for colder weather to try it on a black paintwork as most tests I've seen are all in hot conditions. Thanks for watching my friend
I used this last week on a Mid blue metallic Astra. It look awful when i finished. The bonnet is covered in streaks. How can i improve it ? Remove it and try again ? Or can i just wash and dry the car and go over the top with another coat ?
Hello yes sio2 does this. Simply wash again and that will sort it. Or use damp towel. I made another video on it because at first I was shocked how bad it looked. So I made video on how to correct it
Dave this stuff is rubbish simply because you really need to get the car indoors if you live in the UK. The weather here is messed up all the time ie. too bloody hot or drizzling rain and to get 2 days the same even for the likes of me (weekend warrior) its too involved with just too many things to make it take longer. The 1st vid was spot on lol all the ladies have told me so lol. Keep it up and stay safe.
Cheers Jonny. Yes it is rubbish, but then it is very good too... Confused, you should be lol. It all depends on so many factors. So I was fortunate on this day but I wanted to prove a point that the product can be so hit and miss
Does the ceramic spray ruin the towel, as in does some of the ceramic stick to it even after rinsing the towel, cure and then mean it is unsafe for the paintwork? Thanks
Thought you were making a big fuss over applying it BUT NO tried it yesterday could not spread it what ever I did had to use a damp cloth on it took me along time going over it and not knowing what was left on paint after wards. The other thing was I found some spots of air deposit had embedded into it before it cured which is 24 hr not good for outside work and don't know if I can get them out when its cured. In the bin with this product for me. Shows your review was Honest This may work under ideal conditions but not in general use
Thanks Barry, I was very harsh but yes to get this to work u need 100% perfect conditions I feel. Cool cloudy day no heat and a lighter colour. Yum ceramic and garage therapy are better in my opinion
I over applied on a brand new car, and the haze I've got is taking a RIDICULOUS amount of elbow grease to work out by hand. What can I do? Will a damp microfiber just make it worse?
@@epicautomotivedetailing Its possible. I think Europe is more strict with the "chemicals" in consumer products than USA is. And I know that Soft99 Fusso Coat has a different formulation in Europe than it does in Japan.
Dave, I bought 2 bottles of this and I can’t work it out? It seems to stain on the panel. I’ve been valeting for years. It’s the only solution I’ve had trouble with
Just used for 1st time...hard work on glass! Car is brand new and white so hard to see any smears. But i think there are some. Not that easy to use in my opinion. Now for the 1st rain shower to see how it performs.... the main reason i applied it
Awesome vid Dave , just done my dark blue metallic car with this 2 coats 24hr period and first thing in the morning in the shade , then back in the garage. It does smear and a wipe with a damp cloth gets it sorted . If used like your GT 3 video it works . It's shit on hot panels and in sunlight ,smears like fuck ! By the way tried your window cleaning method on interior glass and it's spot on , no smears and great cleaning . Keep keeping it real Dave :)
Holiday tickets in the post from turtle Wax ☺️. Another good review. Easy to get frustrated like you did in the first video. I use turtle wax rinse and shine. I think it's easier to use than the ceramic one.
They won't ever invite me lol. But I'm providing so many points. Even though the last videos were negative I still think they need to rethink the marketing strategy and be more relatable with their audience. Thanks for watching mate

I applied two coats, (24 hours apart), following the instructions to the letter. Everything seemed ok, no streaks/runs/excess etc. Dry streaks started appearing approx 4 hours after application of both coats, which were extremely difficult to buff off. Another great video Dave. You made very valid points about the weather and the car's colour. I think I would still have reservations about using that Turtle Wax ceramic spray coating on a dark car and I definitely wouldn't use it on a hot day. I just don't buy into this ceramic spray hype. I would far sooner use a product that's easier to use more regularly. That Volvo did look great afterwards though I have to say.
Thanks Karl j needed to put this one up. Because so many people have good or bad experiences and it seems so 50/50. I don't love the product but based on that car with that paint it did well. It still needs some tweaking and no I wouldn't use it again on a hot day with a dark coloured car but it has made me rethink a few things. Thanks for watching mate 😊
It's hit and miss mate. So I had a look at the Volvo this morning and tried a water test with one coat and loved it so the biggest flaw is the application process. Unless you get it right in good temperature it does cause problems. I've never known a product to be so random but this time it was easy to apply 👌
The probem with this spray is it has to be sprayed on the car directly. I wish the flash point would be a little slow so I can use it on an applicator pad to go through those nooks and crannys without over spray.
@@epicautomotivedetailing will look forward to them... they have a new extreme wax I used it today be good to see your thoughts on it in the future... its a thumbs up from me...
Great video! I bought some of this today to use on my new Tiguan and wish I hadn't bothered!! I followed the instructions, washed the car from top to bottom, dried it and then felt i had to wash it all over again! It did nothing but smear the paintwork which I couldn't seem to remove easily or polish out! I ended up using a different product entirely just to tidy up the mess this rubbish left behind! Never again!
My impression of this has been that it is extremely easy to use and it performs as advertised.
well done Douglas Im pleased to hear you had great results from it.
Haha I'm the same. I want the protection to deteriorate so I can try other stuff!
I had a similar experience. Applied it to two vehicles (24 hours apart) and I had almost a year of very effective water beading.
Hi, after applying this can we apply polishing agent after a week?
Can I use it on my bike ??
I really appreciate your humility. It's hard to find these days. Glad you tried it again and gave your honest feedback.
Thank you. My newer content is better ⭐
A 69-yr-old grandmother watching. So yes, women watch! Thanks for your helpful vids, Dave.
Thanks so much 🙂
Having ordered this product from Amazon only to find no english instructions I turned to TH-cam and happened upon your video which helped greatly.
Unfortunately, the extreme smears made me give up on this product. I will give it another try soon.
@@AzanAli- Same. The smears on my black car are unworkable using this product.. will try the damp cloth method tomorrow morning but Im staring at it on my driveway and its terrible.
@@kay9_damn.. I just got it for my black car. Now I’m concerned 😂
Hello USA, greetings from cold, wet UK 🇬🇧, my next video is all about this on black cars
It’s just take your time, do a small section at a time and keep wiping until you see it disappear.
Hi, thanks for the video. Very informative. Noob here. Is it safe for a new car and wheels rims? Thanks
Thank you Oscar really appreciate that well done on your new business venture 👏
I put this on a 2013 ford fusion, black with flakes and I had zero issues. I applied two coats, and waited a week to wash my care with CG's "hydrowash ceramic soap" (not sure if thats the name) and the water beading was incredible. The car looks amazing (Like a mirror in the sun) and was easy to clean and dry. I also put it on my glass, tires, and mirrors. I didn't even need to use my wipers the rain just blew off.
Yeah this is amazing but they definitely didnt make it easy for themselves thats for sure
Darker paint is very tricky if Its not been decon washed but once you get hang of it you're left with great finish
Thanks for sharing Rob this will help others who think it will last 12 months
I love the honesty, "I f&%ked up, I was a bellend" lol awesome video dude.
I did balls it up. To be fair it's brilliant it's just the application method which sucks
@@barrygwilliam5367 nice one mate well done. I like the new flex wax but still think this ceramic is just as good.
Thanks for the info it defo better on the cloth to car 👍🏻😎
Nice one hope it looks good in direct sunlight for you ☀️
RainX does better for glass honestly.
I've got the graphene but not tested it yet. Ive done durability tests on this and think it makes a great upsell for your business
Hey it’s been ten months, how is it holding up?
Amazing stuff 😎
Watched it now thanks. With the Black stuff I used the polish first and did not wait 24 hours still worked well. Black cars always a challenge.
Thanks I'll order some next month and give it a go 👍
Glad you revisited this. I fully committed with their system, decon, polish etc. Waited 24hrs and still the spray was difficult to apply. I ended up doing similar to you, multiple clothes. The car looked great...in the end!
If I was doing it for a living I wouldn't reach for it either
Protection seems good.

I had a major problem with smearing with this product on my black fiesta. I would have to do tons of buffing afterwards with a damp cloth and then a dry cloth. I think ill try your methods of spraying it onto the cloth and also making sure its a cool day.
I promise you once you crack the method it's actually one of the best ceramic sprays by far

Going to give mine another shot today, will defo spray onto the cloth too. Makes sense to me!
Nice one. We got hotish weather today and I'm having day off so may try few more attempts
Can you apply it in cold , in like +5 Celcius ?
If you apply it on top of Glaze , Poor's boys black hall for example .
How long both of them last on daily driver kept outside ?
This is easier to apply in colder conditions
i tried using a damp rung out quality rag company towel to applicate this stuff . then let it haze and wipe off with a dry towel. seemed to work well and even. It was 5 am and humid. The towel seemed to "grab a little but eventually got smoove . I have a new black truck so paint was good . I hand washed and clay toweled first.
Well done.think people have so many different experiences with this stuff
Hi! thanks for your video, is it better to wax the car before applying the ceramic coating?
I wouldn't worry about it blowing into the glass. I use this stuff instead of rain-x now. It's way more effective in my tests. I guess, equally effective but much longer lasting. just needs a dry cloth to wipe smears off at the end. I also just apply it in my garage, rather than taking a chance on weather. I've had awesome results with this on my dark grey Golf.
It doesn't say anything on the bottle I have but I'm sure my last bottle said not to use it in direct sunlight. Might have been the issue with the last car.
I havent used this product much since. ODK waxes solo is a good alternative 👌
Thanks for the tip about spraying on the cloth,, great video btw.

The Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic wax can be used on glass as well as bodywork so over spray is never a problem. More to the point it is excellent on both glass and bodywork too

Yes but you do need a few towels, cloths especially on darker cars. However I will say this is a great product
@@epicautomotivedetailing thanks for your reply !!
Next video is all about the streaking on a black car which comes out in few days. Thanks for watching 😊
Strange

When you say “damp MF” do you mean damp with the ceramic spray or damp with water?

Thanks for sharing. Do you discard the cloths, after use?
With these I wash by hand then demote them to wheels
Definitely easier on lighter colors. I have a white car and it went on easy. I also have dark blue almost black car and you could see the haze. This made me go back and buff the white car since i thought maybe it had high spots and i just couldn't see it.

If it rains before the 24 hour curing period will it ruin the coating? Will I need to re apply it?
Trust me it won't last that long. Use a shampoo that can remove old waxes or clean with stronger alkaline products and you'll soon remove it
most of it soaked into the cloth doing it that way and how do you get an even coat spraying it directly on the cloth
It takes a while before it gets fully absorbed into a towel. Spraying it then wiping wont do any harm just like applying blob of wax on an applicator pad :)
What microfibers do you use to apply and then clean
I use bit of everything, Autosmart , kent car car, Yum cars
I have to say it's unreal ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I was way too quick to judge First time using it
@@epicautomotivedetailing great thanks for the reply
I just put it 4hrs ago and it rained.. What should i do? Help pls
@@epicautomotivedetailing I'm subscribed :)
@@Freedom_Now_2024 thanks mate your supporting a small channel so I'm really greatful
So I made video on how to correct it
Can i used it on ceramic coating , maintenance? Is it safe any ceramic coat thanks
Yes 100% safe. I prefer ceramic quick detailers for maintenance though
I take a damp micro fiber two sprays level it out let it set a few seconds an buff off works out perfect
I used 2 coats on my model s dolphin grey but the beading effect is not so great compared to other ceramic coatings i used before.
Can this be use on dark grey car?
Does the ceramic spray ruin the towel, as in does some of the ceramic stick to it even after rinsing the towel, cure and then mean it is unsafe for the paintwork? Thanks
they say it doesnt but i wouldnt risk it. I ended up throwing out afterwards
Bonjour de chez moi en Guadeloupe j'ai acheté ce produit pour ma voiture 🚗 et je suis très satisfait
I over applied on a brand new car, and the haze I've got is taking a RIDICULOUS amount of elbow grease to work out by hand. What can I do? Will a damp microfiber just make it worse?
Yes mate. it's a terrible thing to apply but get it right and your enjoy the results
The bottle says made in E.U., I wonder if the formulation is exactly same as the ones made and sold in USA
Thank you. I have always thought that and questioned that myself. It's so random you never know what finish your going to end up with
@@epicautomotivedetailing Its possible. I think Europe is more strict with the "chemicals" in consumer products than USA is. And I know that Soft99 Fusso Coat has a different formulation in Europe than it does in Japan.
@@milch13 I may even ask them that
Dave, I bought 2 bottles of this and I can’t work it out? It seems to stain on the panel. I’ve been valeting for years. It’s the only solution I’ve had trouble with
It's a nightmare mate. I'm surprised they still sell it to be honest
Really love your videos
Just used for 1st time...hard work on glass! Car is brand new and white so hard to see any smears. But i think there are some. Not that easy to use in my opinion. Now for the 1st rain shower to see how it performs.... the main reason i applied it
Can we use this on car glasses.?
Hi Dave,it's the same process as the GT application, but you have to do it in the right weather conditions.
Yeh weather seems to be the key, weather & patience. Two things I don't always get lucky with 😂
Great video as usual bud. Which fo u prefer this or the meguiars ceramic liquid wax
Meguiar's hands down mate 👍💪
Thanks again for watching my videos appreciate anyone who takes time to watch and comment
@@epicautomotivedetailing there really useful and they do help very informative. Keep it up cheers mate
@@simonattwood4363 thanks Simon
Awesome vid Dave , just done my dark blue metallic car with this 2 coats 24hr period and first thing in the morning in the shade , then back in the garage. It does smear and a wipe with a damp cloth gets it sorted . If used like your GT 3 video it works . It's shit on hot panels and in sunlight ,smears like fuck ! By the way tried your window cleaning method on interior glass and it's spot on , no smears and great cleaning . Keep keeping it real Dave :)
Thanks so much. Please give me a share on that glass video 😅 I need to tell the world about it. I need an OBE by next year lol.
@@epicautomotivedetailing You need a knighthood for it lol Sir Dave !
Lol thanks I know you're 100% right
Can i ceramic coat easy applying in home?? Ty
Can this product be used on a wash and wax soap, or does the car have to be way less?
You can apply it to anything but bear in mind ideally for best results car needs to be clay barred and polished first
Holiday tickets in the post from turtle Wax ☺️.
Do you have to wash the car again in between coatings if the car has stayed outside overnight? Or just apply?
Yes I would because there would be loads of contamination, dust that would interfere with it
@@epicautomotivedetailing that's what I thought. Thanks
Has anyone else had this problem?
Damp clean towel is the key to removing it my friend
Hi Dave mate, great video as always. Thank you 💪😉😂 not to bad then..
It's hit and miss mate. So I had a look at the Volvo this morning and tried a water test with one coat and loved it so the biggest flaw is the application process. Unless you get it right in good temperature it does cause problems. I've never known a product to be so random but this time it was easy to apply 👌
Epic Car Show Detailing lol 😆 that GT is something else 😮😍 definitely going to get some of GT’S products..👍
@@daveroberts703 yeh GT is great. I'm still going to use turtlewax up eventually as I think more testing is needed but it did alright on this occasion
The probem with this spray is it has to be sprayed on the car directly. I wish the flash point would be a little slow so I can use it on an applicator pad to go through those nooks and crannys without over spray.
It's a nightmare product for most people
Yo Dave, is it ok to let the car sit outdoor for its curing time? Like maybe overnight?
H Dave, I do think you was right in your first video. I think there are better products on the market. 👍
Yeh there definitely is better out there but had to do this one to prove a few valid points about the unpredictable results
Your doing a great job keep the video coming.
i was actually planning to buy this one or the ice seal and shine
Seal and shine is easier I would say in hot temperatures
@@epicautomotivedetailing yeah its hot in this place. thanks for the advice its also cheaper
Try out Ez ceramic wax be good to see what you think
Yeh I've got that on my list for future videos. I've got 3 others which in yet to test and film. It is interesting aas they vary in so many ways
@@epicautomotivedetailing will look forward to them... they have a new extreme wax I used it today be good to see your thoughts on it in the future... its a thumbs up from me...
Can ceramic product go over wax finish and vice versa?
No it's not a good idea to apply on top of wax. And waxing on top wouldn't achieve anything either. Just a ceramic detailer is good enough 👌
Can this be applied to matte finish/satin bodies please?
No way! dont do it mate
@@epicautomotivedetailing thanks a lot
