I find the white chalkiness is actually a by-product of the steamer, not the chemicals. Using steam on older plastics has a drying effect and it "shows" itself as white. Just what i've noticed but ill also be on the lookout for the chemicals.
The worst mistake that I've made as a professional detailer was using Chemical Guy's speed wipe on a vehicle that I ceramic coated. Iwas out of my normal detail spray ( it was back ordered ) so I ran to Wally World to grab something. It left red splotches in white paint after the car got rained on. I had to clay bar the entire vehicle and ceramic coat it again. It's like it burned into the ceramic Coating. I'll never use speed wipe again.
Just with your first tip. I always tell people microfibers suck so bad for absorbing anything but all my friends will say is microfibers for everything. Glad to see im not crazy in using other towel types.
I’ve cleaned several cars, including my own and others', using a product from Chemical Guys called Nonsense, which is a very strong all-purpose cleaner that can be diluted. In my opinion, it’s a great product. However, when I cleaned the plastic parts and wiped them with a microfiber towel or brush, the plastic started to turn white, which really worried me. Sometimes the white residue came off after further cleaning, so I assumed it might be dirt, but I’m still not entirely sure what caused it. Some people say it could be because the plastic is old and was already damaged, not because of the product itself. After applying VRP or any plastic protectant, the plastic returned to its original color. I’d love to hear your thoughts and experiences as well!
The best thing , is i went and got my IDA certification .plus took the Rupes courses . And only use products that are pro use only and not consumer grade .
I applied VRP from Chemical Guys on a friend’s car. It’s a great product that restores and protects plastic, but since it’s water-based, it doesn’t repel water. After it rained, the product didn’t hold up well. It left streaks on the car's paint near raised plastic areas, and the plastic itself had water spots where the rain seemed to break down the product unevenly. Later, I switched to a water-repellent plastic protectant, also from Chemical Guys, and it worked perfectly. There were no water spots or streaks at all after using it.
I always start my interior with a rinse less solution 256:1 dilution and microfiber towel for the interior before reaching for any chemical, it's safer and cost effective! To be honest a Rinseless is great for cleaning the entire interior and works great for glass, vinyl, plastics, and leather.
Fill up your foam cannon entirely up with it and give your car a prewash with it. Just spray it on, let it dwell for like 5 minutes, it works great! It works even better if your car has black paint and is baking in the sun! 😀
I used a brush attachment for my drill to clean the upholstery and carpets in my car. At first, I used a very strong brush attachment I bought from AliExpress, not realizing how aggressive it was. After seeing the damage it caused, I ordered softer brush attachments. Unfortunately, by the time I realized the mistake, the upholstery was already damaged-not completely ruined, but definitely not as good as before. It's a mistake I can’t undo, but I learned an important lesson for the future.

Yup, this guy makes some good and bad videos. The products he uses aren’t the best in my opinion. I stick with specific cleaners for specific materials. I do not use APC for interior. It’s just a problem waiting to happen. Koch Chemie makes really good products!
@calebgendron15 you're absolutely correct. He loves to use apc on everything. He even suggested super clean on the exterior of the car on a previous video. He's the worst
I actually tried your glass cleaning method today. It worked. Just like that. Amazing. Been struggling for years
That leather cleaning tip was great! Never thought of spreading it around but that makes sense.
This guy is NEXT LEVEL!! Great video!!
thank-you Luke i have learnt alot as im a weeknd warrior

I’ve noticed it with the meguiars apc like he’s said never used a steamer in the past.
@@unkxwnmopar2214odd because that’s the only product that’s accessible by nearby store that hasn’t given me that issue

I hate the carpet lines. Lol
Great video. Thank you
Citrol is my favorite thing to use lately and it's smells great also.
I like cotrol. Used it in industrial maintenance. Excellent and food grade.

I have the Snake skin type of towels have you used them
The Rag Company Glass towels are a Godsend
Funny the product i used on a infiniti g37 was the P&S interior cleaner. Left white chalky residue on center
How much deluted

Save your money and stop buying chemical guys. Try Malco aqua bead

Just spray super clean degreaser full strength on the entire interior, super safe. It’s also very effective if you let it dry before scrubbing.
😂😂😂
Yea yea for sure will do😂😂😂😂
Wut a fabulous idea. Came back after a day and everything was dissolved.

Wow this video was amazing
Thanks
did you speed the video up by 1.15x ?
Great Video!
Careful using 50/50 IPA. Overspray can discolor some interior surfaces.
Good info
Thanks great vid
to do carpet lines i use distilled water in a spray bottle and let it air dry

Made the same mistake when I started, luckily it was on my own car. Now I use the white brush attachments.
Oddly enough, Meguiars APC is the one product I won’t use anymore. Unless I dilute it past its effectiveness, I get residue on everything.
Wire brush on leather is a big no no
😮
did you think it would be good?

Never apply product directly to any surface.
Don't waste time and use a dedicated professional car window cleaner that doesn't streak.
dont hire for help, rather charge accrodingly to do it myself
You can have those carpet lines, No thanks
