I have seen so many couples that got together after a little “break” I find it hilarious
This also kind of sounds like "I wanna marry harry" - fly 20 North American ladies to the UK and gaslight them into believing the "bachelor" is prince harry
Either the first girl was a plant or they messed up. I find it weird that they didn't do a quick search to see if any of the girls have connections with them
I have never seen someone so excited to talk about a reality show that now I have to go watch it. I remember the original getting a lot of flack and I can kinda see why, but I do think this is a much better premise. I know what I'm doing tonight.
great video! one tiny note: the original joe millionaire wasn't gaslighting, just lying. gaslighting is a specific form of manipulation and the term has been thrown around a lot lately when it doesn't apply. can't wait to see the follow-up video!
Please continue to review the rest of this series! I can't bring myself to watch these shows due to the cringe factor, but love to see watch you recap it with such passion!
You know, I can understand having reservations about dating someone who is a single parent that still has the father/mother in the picture. Though I have thar reservation cause when I've attempted those relationships in the past the woman I was dating still had a deep connection with their baby father that got in the way of the relationship the three times I tried. It's tough cause not only do they share a child, they are apart of each other's life in a way that you as the new person entering their life.......just I don't even know how to explain it, but yeah long story short all those relationships ended pretty badly. Though you can't use one bad experience, or three to over generalize a whole group of people. I also realize that my own insecurities play a role in the situation as well, since I have also been weary of women I dated who are very close friends with an ex or male friend that blurred the line of friendship and relationship in the past, without becoming official. With the right person Though I feel like those insecurities are put to rest since they make you feel secure to an extent (still falls on you to also keep those insecurities in check though).
I don't think it's insecurities, necessarily. It's wise to be wary in those situations. You're just being a man, and we have to mate guard sometimes, lest another man poach our reproductive opportunity.

OMG I remember the show with the three moms choosing their sons' girlfriends. It had "In My Arms" by Plumb as the theme song, which by the way is a HUGE bop about parenthood.

Their bromance is adorable and I love that they look out for each other. (Sidenote: they act like Kurt is soooo poor. I wonder if Amanda would be interested in the Irish language dating show Paisean Faisean (pronounced and more or less translated as Passion Fashion) where participants have to pick outfits for the bachelor/ette and then the person chooses who they want to go on a date with based only on the outfit. Kind of a twist on blind date I guess but surprisingly successful at the time.
Ok the honesty is actually commendable that early on, I think. Relationships are so f#%^ing personal (duh) but you can have reservations and hard lines about the dumbest things you want AS LONG AS YOUR PARTNER IS ON BOARD WITH THEM. And if they’re not then they’re not for you. If she’s interested in a dude who doesn’t want to enter that whole coparenting kerfluffle then he’s just not right for her. That’s it. People get so bent out of shape about liking parts of someone and complaining about the parts that don’t line up but that’s not how this works, and it’s what makes finding someone who actually fits with you so special.

I vaguely remember the original Joe Millionaire, but I would love the recap episodes of the reboot to continue. This was so entertaining and the only way I want to "watch" a dating show
I was 12 when the first one came out and putting the reality TV aspect aside even then I knew how messed up it was to expect a relationship to actually work out of such a lie lol. The premise of this revival sounds much more fun.
I had to do a double take, because I’m old enough to remember the original Joe Millionaire from 2003 (19 YEARS AGO!? - MY BONES HURT). My mom and I watched all of the Bachelor copy cats back then.
I actually watched a show at like 12 with the same concept but it were 3 men in total and only one of them the millionaire...this brings back memories buried deeeep within💀
(the bachelor is so unhinged right now)I have watched a few episodes of this, and the problem I have is that the host/butler is a snitch to create drama, which doesn't feel organic. There are serious double standards in how they expect women to behave. Like a couple of women expressed that one guy in the production was cute. One of the girls was particularly loud about it because she felt neglected by the guys (she wasn't making the connections she wanted to, and I think that sometimes in these shows the guys don't realize that relationships are a two-way street and expect women to be handed to them on a platter), and they kicked her off because she "wasn't there to fall in love" with the two guys, and its like these guys are dating 18 women at the same time. This is present in the bachelor, but it feels exacerbated in this show. There is also the problem that the show self-selects for gold-diggers, so all the girls care about money, but the guys want them to fall in love with them for "the right reasons", which is kind of nebulous, but one of those things is that they don't want the girls to like them for their money. There is inherent conflict in that, and there still needs to be the appearance after the season ends that the couple is compatible and will be together for the long term, a notable problem in the bachelor franchise. Also, it is very obvious watching it that man-bun has money, but I can understand it being difficult to tell in the actual situation.
When Jennie told Steven she won a lawsuit for $13 million I feel like he lost interest in her cuz she was worth more than him but then he says he doesn't want a gold digger 😭
Thank you for recapping this! I love this show and no one is doing recaps of it yet. Please do more of these! The next episodes are just as amazing as the ones you watched.

The premise of this show sounds amazing. It's like someone saw that dating show where they gaslighted a bunch of women into thinking that they were competing for Prince Harry, and was like "this could be spicier AND less problematic!"
oh my god, i'm at the part where you talk about the premise and i wanna watch... but i also love how you're telling it so passionately that i wanna finish all the joe millionaire videos of yours... but i don't want the spoilers... i'm... in a conundrum. i'm finishing this video for sure tho.
I loved the original Joe Millionaire, and I loved your recap of the first espisodes of this one! Keep em coming, because I don't havr access to the show, and your summary was so entertaining.
I remember the original iteration of Joe Millionaire being advertised and even thinking back then that this was going to be crazy. Not gonna lie, I feel as though if I watched the current version that I would still not enjoy it and be turned off by the whole production of it; but you going through what happens is definitely keeping me interested in this video.
One of my favourite unhinged dating shows lately has been the 'love island' ones where they get a bunch of hot party people and then tell them they can't kiss or bang and if they do they lose money from the pot. It's supposed to be about "becoming a better person" and "learning how to have a long term relationship" but really it's more the AI tells the group that a rule was broken and money is being lost but not who broke it followed by the entire group going at each others throats.

Also, it is very obvious watching it that man-bun has money, but I can understand it being difficult to tell in the actual situation.
The man-bun guy isn't the one with a $10 mil net worth though. It's Steven thats rich not Kurt
When Jennie told Steven she won a lawsuit for $13 million I feel like he lost interest in her cuz she was worth more than him but then he says he doesn't want a gold digger 😭
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE CONTINUE COVERING THIS SHOW. PLEASE
Thank you for recapping this! I love this show and no one is doing recaps of it yet. Please do more of these! The next episodes are just as amazing as the ones you watched.
Been watching since before you made your intro, I’m glad you’ve stayed true to yourself this entire time.
27:32 Chills literally chills, like what!?
Im so invested in this show and I have no plans on watching it. Please keep these reviews going
i think this remake is WAY more interesting than the original premise
I used to think I hated reality TV but seeing your love for it makes me think maybe it isn't so bad
Literally binged all five current episodes because of this video, and I just...need, need, NEED you to keep talking about it. I've been stunned by literally ever episode, I would love to see your joyful retellings
I would gladly watch more of your commentary/recaps of this show,; I hope you continue!! This was a joy to watch!
I think this episode may be the happiest I have ever seen Amanda.
The premise of this show sounds amazing. It's like someone saw that dating show where they gaslighted a bunch of women into thinking that they were competing for Prince Harry, and was like "this could be spicier AND less problematic!"
THAT ONE WAS AWFUL
I would never watch this show, it’s really not my sort of thing but watching you describe it is wonderful. Your excitement is very genuine
Yay, this video is finally out!
oh my god, i'm at the part where you talk about the premise and i wanna watch... but i also love how you're telling it so passionately that i wanna finish all the joe millionaire videos of yours... but i don't want the spoilers... i'm... in a conundrum. i'm finishing this video for sure tho.
Talking for 30 mins about reality TV passionately....yes....my people...
Also, your MANIACAL laughter while talking about the premise is me af
Oh God I'm old. I'm old enough to remember the original joe millionaire when it aired on fox family.
Joe Schmo was my favorite 'dating' show. But only the first season. It may have all been fake, but it sold as if it was real.
Omg poor Joe though when they did the reveal, his mind melted
I really wanna hear you talk about the rest of the show as it comes out please make it a series 🙏🏽
I loved the original Joe Millionaire, and I loved your recap of the first espisodes of this one! Keep em coming, because I don't havr access to the show, and your summary was so entertaining.
Im not gonna watch it but I am intrigued because of you. Please tell us about the rest of the season. :)
I also
Like how everyone live tweets during the show, i was tweeting last week and got 3 responses from people on the show which was cool
"I'm like YEAH! F YEAH! Do it! Why not? This is great!"
Please keep covering this
One of my favourite unhinged dating shows lately has been the 'love island' ones where they get a bunch of hot party people and then tell them they can't kiss or bang and if they do they lose money from the pot. It's supposed to be about "becoming a better person" and "learning how to have a long term relationship" but really it's more the AI tells the group that a rule was broken and money is being lost but not who broke it followed by the entire group going at each others throats.
I remember watching that old Joe Millionaire show. I was thoroughly entertained as a middle schooler.
I just love how invested you are it's a true joy to watch haha
pleeeease do more videos about this show!!!! this is INCREDIBLE and i am OBSESSED 🤩
Swell, please update us on the next episode and so on :) I enjoy listening to you tell me about the show while I do dishes :) it’s like you are FaceTiming me about it 😂 loves it

Loving it. I paused this to go watch the five existing episodes! Would love if you wanted to do a part 2, I wish Bachelor Fantake was recap/reviewing this too. Was too young to watch the OG show but yes want to watch that so much now.
pleeeeease keep up with covering this series omg
listening to you talking abour something you genuinely enjoy its the best
please do an update every few episodes, your hype for it makes me feel the hype and makes me so happy! ❤
I'm so excited to see you in a reality tv dating show. You seem so into it and so passionate about it that I can't wait to see you giggle and laugh on the show. I hope whichever you get into treats you well and is fun for you, even if producers have their strings on everything.
Swear to god: I thought you said you reviewed FLAVOR of love, I paused, and went scouring through your whole channel trying to find it! 😂😂😂
I keep coming back to see if there’s an update to this cause I loved watching you talk about it so much

Omg, I saw this show on tv and decided to give it a shot because of your video. I’m 23 minutes in. I think I enjoy your description and dissection a lot better😂😂

Videos like this is why we keep coming back to you
