- Overlanding as a family of six has its challenges. After a day and a half battling wind and rain, we welcomed in the sun and spent the remaining day and a half checking out some of the most beautiful places in the San Rafael Swell.

I really like that Fuel Bag.
So far I am really happy with hit. I still want to find a way to carry it that I like better than inside the Trasharoo. I am pretty sure I could just hang it from the ladder but I was worried about it rubbing a whole long term. How compact it gets once empty is incredible to me.

I was wondering about the wear too. I would want to hang it off the ladder of my Gobi rack.
@seanmiller140 long term I think I’ll attach it to the side of my spare tire trash bag or put a backing plate on it on the ladder.
Looks like you are getting everything dialed in really nicely. I've been in those situations before when you really have only 1 choice: to hole up in your rig. It can get pretty boring if you are not careful.
Luckily we spent most of the day exploring so we only had to wait for about 2 hours. But I can see why people who travel full time opt for enclosed campers or things like that to have a break from the wind and rain .
I always feel guilty exploring out there with the kids in the back seat , I try to find areas with ancient history like dino tracks or panels to check out on both sides of 70 . The swell feels like a never end sand box .

That trailer is a great setup, with my four kids I definitely run out of space quick in my GX.
Do you use bins on the top?
@@BackroadExploration Just a softshell roof bag and tie-downs for other items.
@rossluzz I’ve always used hard boxes but they are not great for bulky sleeping gear. I think the soft bag is the way to go with those.
