Just got back from four weeks in Chiang Mai. Spent 18 fun days with a bar girl I picked up on 9/9 to celebrate my 74th birthday. Spot on, Dr.Mark. I had an interesting encounter with a bar girl last month in Bangkok. As soon as she started paying me special attention I asked if she did this to all the guys. She answered yes and that it was her job to talk to the customers, get them to buy her drinks and get a tip for it all. I thought that was so refreshing I ended up buying her three shots. Yes, they will kiss you to some degree, put your hand on their hips, and even put your hands in other places. But as soon as they feel they've reached the end of the money train, they move on. My girl soon slipped away and was working over the next guy. I walked over, apologized for interrupting, thanked her for her time (it's a floor show, guys!) and slyly slipped far too much money into her hand. I felt good about the encounter until the next morning when I realized I was probably pegged as a guy who would likely pay more for the truth, and so perhaps I was played after all. Years ago I had a Russian scammer trying to play me, I played with her (him?) for about 6 weeks before they asked for money. She (he) said that her Mom was sick and needed an operation to save her life. I replied " Let her die"! That was like lighting a fuse on a tampon, she (he) went crazy and said I was not a nice man. Then they asked for money again, and my reply was just "Let her die". Then she (he) dumped me......

I requested a naked photo and she complied. The naked picture has some dude's feet at the bottom of the photo apparently reclined on a couch taking her photos. So, I asked her if those feet belong to her BF or husband's. She never replied after that.

Actually I think Bob got off easy compared to some farangs. You have farangs that bought cars, and houses only to be shown the door the day the contractor finishes the home. There's lots of nice civilian girls. If you're lonely, be honest with yourself, and stay in regular areas to be around normal people. If you know you're a softie and want someone nice, Philippines is the better place for that. A lot less places to get in trouble and the civvies speak English. I think the Filipina bargirls will rip you off even more than the Thai bargirls. They're really not worth getting to know.
the trouble is there's not a lot of civilian girls in the tourist areas yes you can find some of them in the hotels but let's be honest they do freelancing on the side the majority of them anyways to help supplement their income because they do not make enough to live on. as far as the Philippines I honestly don't know I've heard mixed stories about it so I really don't have a strong opinion or the ability to make an informed opinion on it myself. One thing to consider, is also that bar girls or freelancers will sometimes pretend to go for free after bar fine. Say nothing about money and the next morning. Guess what? You pay me 5000 baht! One guy told me that she threatened to call the police if he didn't pay. He then threw 3000 Baht at her, told her that this is all he got, and off she went out of his hotel room. Nothing is for free. Personally, I'm not judging men who go for some holiday fun. But they need to walk into it with the following mindset: She is not girlfriend material, she will never be your only sweetheart and money makes the world go round. When the trip is over, you and her is over.

It seriously took me 15 + minutes into the video to realize this wasn't a troll/disingenuous video. Everyone involved is so naïve there aren't even words. She broadcast her intentions from the first moment possible by offering to pay for my drink, pay half our expensive meals, and so on. It all took me quite utterly by surprise. I *expected* she has to earn a living and that she was going to hit me up for something, it'd be more than I am comfortable making a regular part of my budget, I'd give it once or twice, and then move on. Well that hasn't been the case. But seriously - this whole video to me is like so hard to understand because I would have known better by age 25. The father of a mate of mine, now passed, used to go to Thailand every so often. He was in his eighties at the time when he go emotionally involved with a bar girl and he was so lovestruck they he couldn't see reality for what it was. He paid and paid while he was there and when he got home the bar girl constantly cried poor and begged for money. My mate only realised what was going on when he went over one day to borrow some tools only to find they were missing, then he noticed a lot of things were missing. He asked his dad where everything had gone and it all came out that he'd been selling whatever he could to help the bar girl financially. I never really got into details but apparently it took a long time and a lot of effort to convince him that she was only after his money. You're doing a service putting this video up. If it save just one guy from being financially and emotionally taken advantage of then it has been totally worth it.
this is such a sad story because so many of these girls prey on older gentleman like this they take advantage of their kindness and they do milk them out of every single thing that they have.

Good for me, I am who I am, and don't easily fall for a trick. I told her that I won't pay the dowry as where I'm from, a man only pays an escort for her service, and I told her that since I can't buy a house in my name, I won't buy it at all. The relationship wasn't quite over yet, but it became clear to me, we're heading in that direction. Remember guys, it's your cash in your wallet, and it takes two to tango. She can only fool you if you allow it.

Spot on, Dr.Mark. I had an interesting encounter with a bar girl last month in Bangkok. As soon as she started paying me special attention I asked if she did this to all the guys. She answered yes and that it was her job to talk to the customers, get them to buy her drinks and get a tip for it all. I thought that was so refreshing I ended up buying her three shots. Yes, they will kiss you to some degree, put your hand on their hips, and even put your hands in other places. But as soon as they feel they've reached the end of the money train, they move on. My girl soon slipped away and was working over the next guy. I walked over, apologized for interrupting, thanked her for her time (it's a floor show, guys!) and slyly slipped far too much money into her hand.
I felt good about the encounter until the next morning when I realized I was probably pegged as a guy who would likely pay more for the truth, and so perhaps I was played after all. It's all a wicked game. And as Dr. Mark says, leave your emotions out of it.
You didn't get played. You willingly gave her the extra cash and she was honest with you, and you decided to help her out. She didn't deceive you, and you both did a good thing so in my eyes, it was a healthy exchange you should feel good about. Cheers.

I requested a naked photo and she complied. The naked picture has some dude's feet at the bottom of the photo apparently reclined on a couch taking her photos. As an expat living in Thailand for many years, we get to know the girls and they tell us there stories and I can confirm this type of thing is so true and many of the girls find it funny and so do we, but it can be sad to when we here of girls having houses built in the village on there free land given by the king, which also sometimes they charge the tourists for the land they already own, the family own the land the girl has been sent to look for a tourist to build the house, usually the family then move in.

Yes. The reality is that these lovely ladies get passed around thousands of men (mostly from India). It takes a miracle to avoid physical and mental illness under such circumstances. You don’t have to pay bar fines I have been travelling to Thailand for about 18 years I think I paid bar fines twice that was on my first visit . I always pick up freelancers they are everywhere even the bar girls would meet up you after work just exchange phone numbers .

Seen the same thing happen with Filipinas and Dominicanas. However, the Thai women seem to have this down to a blatant and transparent scam. For Bob and others, just a note - these women are just to be used and abused and never put on a pedestal, not the other way around.
Apart from their beauty and manipulation, these women are very feminine. Unfortunately, many men never experienced a feminine woman in their country, especially in the west. When they travel to Thailand and experience the charm and femininity of Thai girls, all common sense goes out the window and you end up having all these horror stories about foreign men taken to the cleaners by the bar girls.

Just back from Kata beach, met a girl had a great 2 weeks. Girl I met one of her friends was telling me she had 6 different guys she was texting/messaging. Everything you have said is true in my experience of several years going to Thailand. I don't drink or go to bars and only dated nonpros, lol I spend my time in Chiang Mai. I do know several Bobs and everyone has crazy stories. I do think your stories are a little jaded because of the cities you are going to. You did mention this in the video.

First of All, I never paid more than 2.000 thb for a Bar girl zo stay all day with me. Maybe they were not 10/10 girls but 9/10 girls. There's lots of nice civilian girls. If you're lonely, be honest with yourself, and stay in regular areas to be around normal people. If you know you're a softie and want someone nice, Philippines is the better place for that. A lot less places to get in trouble and the civvies speak English. I think the Filipina bargirls will rip you off even more than the Thai bargirls. They're really not worth getting to know.
the trouble is there's not a lot of civilian girls in the tourist areas yes you can find some of them in the hotels but let's be honest they do freelancing on the side the majority of them anyways to help supplement their income because they do not make enough to live on.
as far as the Philippines I honestly don't know I've heard mixed stories about it so I really don't have a strong opinion or the ability to make an informed opinion on it myself.

One thing to consider, is also that bar girls or freelancers will sometimes pretend to go for free after bar fine. Say nothing about money and the next morning. Guess what? You pay me 5000 baht! One guy told me that she threatened to call the police if he didn't pay. He then threw 3000 Baht at her, told her that this is all he got, and off she went out of his hotel room. Nothing is for free. Personally, I'm not judging men who go for some holiday fun. But they need to walk into it with the following mindset: She is not girlfriend material, she will never be your only sweetheart and money makes the world go round. When the trip is over, you and her is over.

It seriously took me 15 + minutes into the video to realize this wasn't a troll/disingenuous video. Everyone involved is so naïve there aren't even words. I met a Thai girl in a massage parlor who wanted to see me outside. She broadcast her intentions from the first moment possible by offering to pay for my drink, pay half our expensive meals, and so on. It all took me quite utterly by surprise.
