what's it like living as a retired Canadian expat in the land of smiles???
it can be absolutely amazing however at times it can be downright punishing and scary....
here are the things that I've learned and a little bit about myself,,,,,
You cannot believe what it's honestly like living here in Thailand as a retired Canadian ExPat.....
I haven't been able to figure out how or why it keeps deleting my descriptions I can't figure that out guy so I do apologize I'm going to redo the descriptions again and hopefully they don't get deleted or removed....

I’m getting ready to retire by August or September…. Moving to the Philippines but I want to check out Thailand as well…. Not for the beautiful women as I already have that in the Philippines but I want to try the food and so on…. And I won’t ride the elephants as I agree with you about how mean the elephants are treated….
That's awesome man I hope you have a wonderful time in Philippines I hear it beautiful there there's some challenges that you're not going to face in Thailand that you're definitely going to find in The Philippines....

@whyhellotherewithdrmarksabean I think South Africa may have more disappointing things to you than encouraging things. I am not discouraging you from visiting just stating the facts. South Africa is a beautiful Country but it is a violent Country with high levels of serious crime and getting worse. People get robbed and murdered for little. Criminals prefer to kill their victims even for a small amount. You cannot walk around late at night like in Thailand. Good game resorts and upmarket hotels are geared for rich tourists so the price is very high for most local people. Having said that there are some beautiful places to visit and your currency is strong in South Africa.

Those are gonna be great videos one of my favorite TH-camrs right now is Ken abroad and he travels all through Southeast Asia. He kind of tells people what he’s spending on food and rooms and I think that if you travel it will be fantastic. I can’t wait to watch them.

Yep, point number 1: plan, for years, and sacrifice everything you can to throw every single penny you have into a stock portfolio with growth stocks. Eat oatmeal and cottage cheese, don’t drink, don’t smoke, work 6-7 days a week, lift weights 6 days a week, work more, don’t go out to eat, don’t go out on the weekends, and go to bed before 10pm. After about 5 years of this you will be on your way.
I’m 41.5 years old, and I have a plan to go when I’m 45. Been saving and doing this exact thing, 7 days a week, for a long time now. Have a white board and put your main long term goal at the top! Then, spider web down to yearly goals, monthly goals, and weekly targets. Every goal should be one step closer to your 5 or 10 year goal. Doesn’t have to be Thailand, this works for anyone that wants to do anything
2022 I lost 75% of my stock portfolio value. In about 6 months I lost almost everything! Did I panic? Yeah, big time! What did I do you ask? Left it alone and for 6 months deposit more money in there and buy more shares of growth stocks like Apple and Tesla and Google. Fast forward to today and guess what? It’s back up bigger than before. It’s not an overnight get rich quick scheme or some trick nobody knows. It’s discipline and strength and structure in your life

I'm trying to figure out if it is genuine danger (you gonna d...) or frustration (dang it, the roads out, again!).

I've actually talked to a bunch of people who have done it and it's surprisingly easier than most people think....
As long as you have all your proper documentation you got all your ducks in a row you should be perfectly fine that's what I'm being told...
You might have to grease upon here grease upon there but for the most part I think it should be pretty easy I hope anyways....

When you come back to Thailand, and riding up the coast towards Pattaya. There's quite little beach front area, near a fishing village in Sattahip near Waters Edge Condominium. Right there is a nice little beach area with a line of beach front restaurants, Surf Beach Café, and some others. When I finally do get to retire in Thailand, I plan on living there for 6 months, a year or more. If you need one, there are rooms to rent in that area too.

TH-cam is tough work and many hours. Some people use it for money, and some use it to keep themselves occupied. It doesn't pay a lot, but you can live off it in Thailand. I know a few that live off of mommys and daddys money and some hit it big like selling their house in California for a million or two. There are some, like many that live off their retirement like social security.
I am also at a age where I am not in to the bar scene, I havent been to any of them as of yet. I am living off a budget of $1500 which is fine for me

Hey Dale basically yes that's what I'm invested in they call it a managed equity fund at investors group I'm not quite sure why they call it that but they do....
I'm in the lowest risk one possible so it's unbelievably safe and stable....
Literally man I have zero thought about it I just get paid every single month the same amount of money and each year so far I've had a surplus left over and that just gets reinvested back in.....
If you are in Canada I would definitely reach out to the guy that I put in the description he's fantastic and quite honestly I trust him with my life that's just not a cliche either like literally I trusted him with my life cuz I gave him pretty much everything that I had....

You're not alone in that sacrifice boat. I've been planning my move to Asia for almost 5 years now. It will probably be my last move even though I mostly plan on slow traveling. If all my personal affairs are settled, I hope to be there in September. Re ladyboys. I was in a club in Spain with a girl. She saw me looking at these amazingly beautiful girls across the room. She sked if I like them. I just saud they look nice. Then she whispered in my ear: they're men to my shock and horror. She got a great laugh out of that. It's easy to be fooled.

I am glad you are able to live your dream. However every human has different goals and values so with all due respect you cannot say that most people wish they lived your life. For many having family, children and community is important, for others it is being productive at work, for others it is following a religious path etc. A good friend of mine is very happy taking a vacation in the same town on Jersey shore every year with his family and has zero interest of traveling anywhere in the world. So ultimately all of us have to decide what is the best life for each of us individually; there is no universal prescription.
