I’ve seen alot of comments talking about the part I said ‘my wife is not working rightnow’ while answering the immigration officer. I thought people should be able to put 1 & 2 together after i mentioned my Son’s age at the point. But I guess with TH-cam I gotta literally spell everything out. 😂 Sorry I’m new here so yeah still learning 😊 Anyways she wasn’t working at that point cuz she was on maternity leave. I thought people should just know that considering I mentioned the age of our child Buh yeah y’all didn’t get it. That’s ok.😊 In the spirit of spelling everything out,😊 She’s British, she has two degrees from UK universities and yes she works 😊 To apply for a spousal visa if married to a British citizen, the citizen has to provide 6 months payslip prior to application date or bank statement and tax records for people that are business owners, you also have to include receipts of 6 months rent payment for the address you put in your application. With the way some people are speaking so much with so much confidence in the comments one will think they know everything about visa application process.😊 Anyways thanks a lot for watching my video guys. I really appreciate ❤
@libby4608 the chap should have consulted an immigration attorney on how to present himself at the border. He could at least have watched TH-cam videos on how to answer a UK border Officer.
Even in the U.S., is the same. The visa is just a gateway to board a plane but doesn’t guarantee entry into the country. It’s up to the immigration officer at passport control to officially grant you admission. The visa can be rejected, and you can be deported back to your country if the immigration officer deems that you can’t clearly explain how you acquired your visa and the purpose of your trip. It’s kind of weird, but we should learn from them and implement these kinds of policies in our African countries. What goes around comes around.
An Australian passport holder was denied entry into Canada. He was clearly of South Sudanese descent. Or possibly born in South Sudan. Canadian Border Security denied him entry. Stating that "they believe he has insufficient funds to support his stay in Canada." Even Africans with "Five Eyes" passports are denied as well.
One presumes all checks would have been executed by the embassy at the originating country I don't have any pictures of my wedding All the immigration officer has to do is put him aside in a room and do their checks I believe the Americans do
Thanks for sharing your story. I feel like I was on the edge of my seat to hear the end of the story. I’m really glad that you weren’t sent back home.❤

Thanks for sharing the story. Yeah, I can relate! I use this opportunity to beg all those spoiling the name of Nigeria to please help us. It is such a burden to carry our green passport. Just a few days ago, I was passing through Addis Ababa, and the semi-illiterate officials immediately put me aside as soon as they saw a Nigerian Passport, since I was coming from South America. When they saw the rest of my documents that I live in Europe they became very apologetic and started treating me special😢. Our politicians are not a help either, but we can all do better….let us try.
I work for a government agency in the United States and you’re right. Nigerians are scrutinized harder than any other immigrant group, at least in the US.
This not about Nigerians...I travel too to meet my husband they requested for my marriage certificate too...if you going to join your spouse you must have your marriage certificate and wedding pictures with you ...learn from it don't criticize Nigerians ok
Visa from Nigeria is guaranteed that you will board a flight. It does not guarantee entry. lmmigration officers decide at the point of entry. It is sad that most people are not aware of that.
My sister, it's crazy most don't notice it in the application stage o! If one can't clearly state your reason for travelling, even after paying school fees, after securing a job, those guys have the right to turn the person back. If it's for tourism, have a list of places you want to visit and have enough money for the trips. If it's as a student, know a thing or two about the school and course. Same goes for a job. "I don't know" and "I will find out when I enter" would get one in trouble.
@mummyuk5c But why don't we Nigerians just stay in Nigeria and respect ourselves, than making videos of how to enter a crappy country as if it is paradise.😕
I don’t comment often 😂 ❤❤ but i love this story, sweet one.. the “i just want to see my son” part. God spoke through you as he spoke through balam’s donkey ❤Enjoy UK 🇬🇧. I believe soon.. God will speak for me too and take me out of this lagos. Congratulations 🎉
Am surprised you were so confident on entering Britain. I was a ball of nerves when going to see my daughter in Spain. I was like what if they deny me to enter at the airport. I had carried all evidence I needed n rehearsed in my head what to say to the immigration officer, I kept praying to be let through while on the plane. When I reached the officer, he just said hola, to which I responded back hola and he stamped my passport. Nothing else. Unbelievable n I was in Spain. I am now back in Kenya after my visit n I can’t believe that you went so confidently yet I was a bag of nerves. Of course the immigration officer can stop you n send u back. If you watch TH-cam videos that happens a lot
An experienced traveler will never go through all that unnecessary drama. A visa is NOT a guarantee to entry into a country. In fact, a Visa can be cancelled on entry. Even if you “successfully” pass through immigration you can run into problems with Customs. That’s why I enjoy the Australian series on “ Border Security”.
What you had was entry clearance which can be revoked by the officer on duty if not satisfied by the answer you gave them. It’s always good to come prepared and confident; many have gone back because they lacked the confidence to respond properly and ended up throwing themselves under the bus. Congratulations on your reunion
Prepared for what why can they come to our countries without visa but we need visa to enter their shit unhealthy countries as an African I would never step my foot in my enemies land what are people even looking for in a country which most of them hate you I have problem understanding the reason.
So sorry for your experience am happy how you took it, it good to always carry the evidence that link the person you are coming to see, , it all good, but next time don’t think of you delaying they can wait, they have the time never let their presence intimidate you.
That is why I always have pictures of my documents on my phone and also in my email, just incase my phone goes off, I can access my email from anyone’s gadget.
This was a good story. And a Great lesson for those people that don't know you can be turned away even with a visa. You can be deny if you don't have enough money, if they think you are coming to work. A lot of people bring their resumes or CV with them. On a tourist visa. Don't do it. They can confiscate your phone and go through it to see if you have any information that's going to prove to them that you're staying in the country. Yes it's true. I do a lot of international travel. And as a US citizen it's pretty easy for me to get through. I have 2 adult children that have dual citizenship. They have a Nigerian passport and an American passport.
If you're a resident they can't chat shit to you. 2 years ago this coked out bitch at the bristol airport asking me questions because the fingerprint machine don't work. She went upstairs for 10 mins then came back asking if I got my status because I married my girlfriend next to me . I said no you've refused my indefinite because of my criminal record and told me apply in 24 months . She's like okay and grant me. She can't do nothing to me and she know it. I'm a resident why the hell you asking me question. As soon as the 24 months ran off I applied again . Soon as 12 months ran off with the indefinite I applied for naturalisation now the passport on the way.
Actually when you apply for visa anywhere you should familiarise yourself with the rules of the country coz most of the countries have it in the visa rules and regulation: YOU CAN BE DENIED ENTRY EVEN IF YOU HOLD A VISA.
The struggles we go through to make it abroad 😢!! I’m glad all went well at the end. For some strange reason i was also asked so many questions at the immigration in London, while everyone else was passing through! 😅 quicker. I felt like I was being targeted for some reason unknown to me even up to this day. I will gather the courage to narrate the story on my channel too one day.
So there’s no confusion to anyone as to why this happened, a Visa is a CONDITIONALLY authorisation to enter a country. Therefore only when you satisfy the conditions of the immigration in that country will you be allowed to enter. Just last week I went to The Netherlands with a British passport, I don’t even need a Visa but I was still asked questions and only when they where satisfied that I was there for a quick break, they stamped my passport to allow me to enter. I have been blessed to have traveled to over 35 countries therefore I have learnt a lot about travelling internationally and the rules etc. Visa does not equal guaranteed entry, unlearn that please 😊
I also didn't know u could be sent back at the port of entry when i was coming to the US and i took it for granted but i thank God they never asked me so many questions but when my mum was visiting us , i had to tell her to be careful because visa doesn't guarantee entry but we thank God she was only asked how long she is staying.
Thanks for sharing your story. You always need to have all your documents in place when you get to the entry point. Pictures only are not enough proof. Lesson learnt to all of us
Yes, it can happen I took my son here with me in the days we need no visa, everything was in place yet was denied entry. They kept him one day in the country and give him a tour before flying him back to home country. Three years on I sent for him to join me and he was given entry he’s living here twenty four years as a British citizen.

lol my case as an international student back then. I was held at the airport for 2hours. 1- I was underage and my guardian was not at the airport at the time. I didn’t have a cell to call or anything I only knew his number. 2- the university had a foundation branch for international students. I thought I was going uni straight. So I said the name of the uni instead of the foundation. Took a minute before she realised and called to confirm. Will I was waiting she was so kind, kept reassuring me made me connect to the WiFi so I could talk to my mom. Soon as the guardian came she made sure I was handed over in person and that it. Moral of the story it’s their job to probe to the highest degree. They ask you the same question 4 different times and 4 different location and 4 different ways Also how you carry yourself matters. lol and yes that’s all you should have. My wife is British. You are an immigrant them no know you.. lol
In this day and age you need to be looking at online documents, tv programs of immigration stuff etc to see what happens at border/immigration crossings.
Visa from another consultant in any country doesnt mean your going to be allowed in another country its up to the immigration officer from the country your arriving to decide..
When you have time, try and watch the UK Border Force and the American one as well. It will give you more insight into how immigration entry system works as well. Welcome to Uk and stay bless
Anytime you are flying as a Nigerian citizen with a visa. Print everything out ahead of you. -Letter that confirms your employment - Recent bank statement - hotel booking - friends and family contact list - marriage certifcation It makes everythijg easier
Once she see you start to sweat. She said "Got him... Harry get the Plane!!" A VISA does not guarantee you entry into any county it only grants you permission to travel to that county. You still have to prove that you are eligible for entry to the officer. The officer has the power to approve or deny entry based on your present evidence.
It happened to me as well, but I was prepared,I had my marriage certificate on my phone. It made it easier.i am glad you were granted entry. Welcome to 🇬🇧.
Why do i have a feeling that Nigerians don't love their country they celebrate entering a foreign country, you say "Entering uk was like heaven ".For me heaven is my Country South Africa is only country i miss when iam overseas n when i come back iam so happy Ive been to UK.IRELAND, USA,Canada, Australia, Newzeland, Ghana, Hong Kong China, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Holland, Turkey, Singapore, Malaysia, France, Botswana, Rwanda, Germany,Italy,Namibia,Namibia, India, Cambodia, Argentina, Ethiopia, Philippines, Kenya, Mozambique n many more i don't pray n hope to stay in those countries i love SA with all my heart ,Soul n Spirit
my own experience was at the accomodation i booked online.......it wasnt funny,i landed police station same day i entered london not for my bad but to make a report of scam or fraulter and to let myself be helped since i didnt know where else to go......................it ended well sha!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will follow you
A common mistake made by travellers is that they think a visa guarantees you entrance. It does not. A visa gives the traveller the opportunity to knock on the door and ask to come in. The officer then makes a decision as to wether or not entrance is given. Some travellers come with false documents and immigration needs to ensure people are who they say they are. The truth is, the information on your wife and child is in the system and was collected before the visa was issued, and she knew this. That is why she asked no more questions when you gave that information
I always tell people this lol visa doesn’t guarantee access into the country. Even me as a British citizen born and raised once the gate doesn’t work I’m about to wee myself loool. Thank GOD for your journey
I always tell people this lol visa doesn’t guarantee access into the country. Even me as a British born and raised citizen when the E gates don’t work I’m pissing myself so scary 😂😂
As someone born and raised in the UK, yes she had the right to ask those questions. But scolding him for saying “what”, was rude and unnecessary, she could’ve explained it kindly ESPECIALLY knowing that despite him speaking English, there’s a culture barrier.
The power of foreign entry is seen at the port of entry. Did you see her asking of any money from you? Did you see her asking that , Oga, make you settle me before you will go? That is the system working . Lessons learnt. Get all your documents closer to you whenever you travel. Not allowed to be checked in. Stay alert on any other travels in the future. Good luck with your channel.
This is General information. Having a visa does not guarantee you enter the country. The questions she asked you were basic questions, you mentioned that it took you six months to get this visa. In those six months you could have done a decent number of research on entranceClarence to better prepare you for that moment. It’s 2024 every important documents such as ID card, drivers license even your passport copy and including the new visa you just got should be on your phone. If you use an iPhone, iPhone generally create album based on face recognition of people you have on your photo library I guess you could have used that too. Congratulations🎉
It's your mixture of language that got me glued to know and hear how it all ended But Bro,let just say the Heavens were there to assist you Because, those people love the next available flight!!!😅😅😅
This happened to me in 2016, they cancelled my visa, held my passport and let me go after 24hrs in detention. I had to go pick my passport on the day of my departure. They cancelled my 2yrs visiting visa. Had to go back to 9ija to re-apply for spouse visa in Nigeria and came back with entry clearance march 30th 2017.
This is standard procedure. You have to be prepared next time. They need documentation and not picture proof. You can also ask them for wifi access if needed , they're accomodating. Be more prepared next time
Anyways, always necessary to know all u need to present when u have to travel. Your wife should have briefed you. You also didn’t ask questions. Thank God you got through, all a lesson of life.

When you have time, try and watch the UK Border Force and the American one as well. It will give you more insight into how immigration entry system works as well. Welcome to Uk and stay bless
Anytime you are flying as a Nigerian citizen with a visa.

A VISA does not guarantee you entry into any county it only grants you permission to travel to that county. You still have to prove that you are eligible for entry to the officer. The officer has the power to approve or deny entry based on your present evidence.
You have a new follower today. I love your storytelling act.
It happened to me as well, but I was prepared,I had my marriage certificate on my phone. It made it easier.i am glad you were granted entry. Welcome to 🇬🇧.
For all new travelers coming to the UK, use the Birmingham Airport and save yourself from all this stress
It made me sad when he said it’s like entering heaven 😢
Lol there’s misery in Nigeria you won’t understand
my own experience was at the accomodation i booked online.......it wasnt funny,i landed police station same day i entered london not for my bad but to make a report of scam or fraulter and to let myself be helped since i didnt know where else to go......................it ended well sha!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i will follow you
You are an amazing story teller bro
Congratulations to you on your move to the UK
A common mistake made by travellers is that they think a visa guarantees you entrance. It does not. A visa gives the traveller the opportunity to knock on the door and ask to come in. The officer then makes a decision as to wether or not entrance is given.
Some travellers come with false documents and immigration needs to ensure people are who they say they are.
The truth is, the information on your wife and child is in the system and was collected before the visa was issued, and she knew this. That is why she asked no more questions when you gave that information
Hello, new subscriber here. I appreciate how you just gave us the whole story without cho cho cho 😁
Thank you for sharing your experience with us, quite interesting and you are a naturalle😅
Lesson of the day - never ever check anything that’s important to you or is irreplaceable. Hand luggage for that stuff always.
Just stumbled on this. You are a good storyteller.
The problem you never go back 😢to Nigeria this is what brings all these problems😮😢😢
I always tell people this lol visa doesn’t guarantee access into the country. Even me as a British citizen born and raised once the gate doesn’t work I’m about to wee myself loool. Thank GOD for your journey
You're not making any sense, why would you feel scared of entering your own country, or are you on here pretending to be a Brit
@@xAce99xhe is mocking people.
I always tell people this lol visa doesn’t guarantee access into the country. Even me as a British born and raised citizen when the E gates don’t work I’m pissing myself so scary 😂😂
505th subscriber, Mr Olayiwola David.🙂 you sure do know how to captivate an audience. Congratulations, bro.
Thank you for going straight to the point
Visa is not a guarantee for entrance, ypu must prove your purpose of coming before an entry clearance Officer. This could also require documents.
Congratulations, sir. Kò ní bàjẹ́ láéláé 🙏🥰
That's why a visa is called an entry permit. It is the entry point officer that determines your fate! Nice narration!
I love your video, it's so funny and interesting, look forward to more
This is General information.
Excellent story telling, japa is not for the weak
Funny story and you’re a good story teller, all the best with your channel brother ✊
Omgg it was nerve racking for me just listening to you. I can’t imagine how you must have felt right there and then.
Very interesting video! I'm happy for you 👍🏾
Although there was a slight sound distortion - the levels may have been too high
Your story reminded me when i was coming in with my children, OMO the question no be here o
Please what question did they ask?
It's your mixture of language that got me glued to know and hear how it all ended
But Bro,let just say the Heavens were there to assist you
Because, those people love the next available flight!!!😅😅😅
I'm always nervous about going through an immigration booth, your ability to enter the country is on their hands
We used to celebrate visas back in the day, nowadays we don't until someone leaves the point of entry in those western countries
😂I love your story, I imagine the psychological impact this event had on you.
Nahhh you’re doing amazing!!! Seee video quality!!!
I actually just subscribed after watching this video because you started your video well..straight to the point and it was nice thank you
This is standard procedure.
It is God 's work . Congratulations
