3:14 One set are buttons, the other set are for elevator keys. Either to lock the elevator on that particular floor, or lock it from being able to go to that floor. Not sure which is the case here, but either way it's a building maintenance thing.

They are used for the latter. Only people who have keys for those holes have access to those floors.
Edit: Oh, you're asking why there's a keyhole AND a button for every floor? That's most likely because this is a twin-door elevator, meaning there's two entries to the elevator. In these cases, if the same floor has two buttons/keyholes, the door that opens is determined by which of the two buttons is pressed.

@@jeanbean_bc yeah they used to show likes and dislikes on everything, because even back then there were some bots, as well as blatant assholes posting the stuff like "so and so's rotting in hell lul." i dont know if youtube did it but there was one website i used where if comments got a ton of dislikes compared to likes it would usually get auto reviewed to see if it was content like that, and deleted if it was

Concerning the power adaptor thing? The 'squished' three prong female cable you plug into a male recepticle on the computer or monitor has been a standard for at a minamum thirty years, and probably longer but I can remember it being a standard for PCs for about that long. So, I'm actually in favor of this move since often those power cords do get kept rattling around. It's not much given the e-waste involved in trashing a monitor or tower (hopefully you're recycling those by sending them to people who WON'T send them off to bumfuck africa for kids to play in the toxic chemicals to scavange components and metals from.)
The thumbnail one isn’t to bad. The bottom buttons look like they need a key, possibly for say, a second door on the other side of the elevator. Sure the number layout is pretty dumb but it’s not that bad.

Yeah, it looks like what you see for penthouses in elevators in fancy apartment buildings. If the penthouse floor is just one giant apartment instead of multiple apartments on one floor, then it makes sense to need a key to open the penthouse floor. (Though that method seems like a pain for inviting guests over...)
Seems to me the buttons with key lock is for elevator technicians to lock the elevator on a specific floor for repairs etc
If anything it should go on Crappy Design, I don't believe it was made to intentionally confuse people.

In a lot of countries you’re allowed to make backups of software you “own”. Always download a backup so that steam and others can’t just steal your stuff from you.

I'm familiar with the phone plan change one - the plan on the letter is month to month, not lock in, you can change or cancel the plan whenever you want with no charge. Only reason the person posting the letter can't go cheaper is that they're already on the cheapest plan available. And it's being changed from a $55 4g only plan to a $58 plan than allows 5g.
On the other hand, you do need to have an active plan if you want to get a phone on repayments instead of buying outright. There's no extra fees involved or anything, no early exit fees, they let you take the phone immediately, the only requirement is that you keep an active plan with that company until you've finished paying for the phone.
Haven't been able to get an old style contract (phone included with the plan) from the major providers since at least the start of COVID when I went looking for new plans myself. If you sign on for a multi-year repayment plan for anything of any value, and you don't take the time to make sure you've understood what you're paying for, you've brought it on yourself.

At 6:50 the post talks about a "contract" with their phone company. Phone companies don't do contracts for service any more. They finance phones for a length of time (usually 36 months) and you are required to sign an agreement that states in short, "If you cancel your line, you have to pay the remaining installments on your phone, because we financed it to you." There is no cancellation fee.
As for the phone plan price going up, that's not cool of the company to do, but being a person who has and does work at a company that handles similar services I can tell you that plenty of people think that a 12 month discount is a contract. I always make it a point to explain that they are in fact, NOT contracts.
Edit: Also, this person was going to cancel their service over a $3 per line increase? And at $58 / mo it's still a decently priced plan. There are some cheaper ones out there, but there are plenty that cost way more.

My old bank charged a Very ethically questionable "service fee" on my account. As long as the account was open and NOT having a certain amount money withdrawn regularly, they charged me a monthly fee. The screwed up part was they never told me about it, not a letter, not an email, not even a pop up in my app to say "Hey, we'll be charging you extra money in order to keep your account open." Most people probably wouldn't notice it, but I'm disabled and don't work and almost all my living expenses are taken care of by my family. What little leisure money I did get usually as gifts, went straight to my bank account for saving, and when I did spend that small amount, it wasn't enough to count, so I'd still get charged. Then, when my account ran dry from this fee, they'd charge me an overdraft fee and the other one. I was literally being charged for saving money! After I finally realized why my bank account always had less money than I remembered, I switched banks the next day.

I got the Microsoft Edge ad on my computer IN THE MIDDLE OF A TUTORING SESSION. meaning i had to stop for 5 minutes to figure out how to get rid of the damn thing. and for anyone who needs it, you just look on the taskbar and close microsoft edge.

It's great comparably with power usage.
It has 6 active processes at once and the rest of them are pretty much absolutely off.
It even comes with searching for them in a convenient way when I want to replace it.
It has disadvantages, sure, like fast auto-lock of screen or lack of brightness adjustment (making it hard to see and use outdoors during day) or worse (still really manageable most of the time) app lag. Also can't remotely close processes (you still can by removing it from the 6)
Neutral point being lack of customizable background.
The thing is. People are willing to deal with all this crap. If people just wouldnt give the companies a chance to make money, they would change things, but people wont, so companies wont.

If LinkedIn was bad, Indeed is just the tip of the iceberg. During the start of 2020, I had just came back from taking a couple of months off from school to relax before I started seriously looking for my first job. I decided to use Indeed since, most of the jobs will somehow end up on there. It's how most of my family got jobs was through Indeed...of course, they went to the actual website to apply and not apply through Indeed. Anyways, I made a quick and simple account with not to much information other than an email, name and phone number. I got texts *NONSTOP* from a random number *DAILY* in Spanish about a harvesting job paying about $15 dollars an hour. No job title, no company name, the number didn't even belong to anything related to a food production farm. And I couldn't block them since the number changed every day. It was awful and it only stopped once I deleted my Indeed account. Never again.
That data thing is Verizon who have been greedy for YEARS. They do actually have great rates for shared plans that have more than one line, but to hell with their single line prices.
After I put 400 dollars on a Walmart debit card it tells me account denied and when I call the number to try to get it fixed they put me on hold for hours then hang up

Ah yes, I've came across this one a few times. You usually can't exit that page unless you close the site. They usually have a cancel button but the cancel and install button is just one redirect to play store or app store.
