Compact and light for what it is (since you'll be spending more time carrying than using it), integrally suppressed with subsonic ammo to not attract too much attention (always useful as an explorer), a scope and enough range for enough long range precision as you'd actually need, and full auto just in case you really need it.

1911 is a staple in every video game. Never get enough of seeing that Gun. All in all.. the gun designs are pretty dope and sound alright. Starfield came thru for gun lovers.

Models and designs are nice Novablast and Va'ruun to be exact, have the best " Futuristic " look, while the others are like cyberpunk, nonetheless, the animations and sounds are a bit of a hit or miss, overall, this is good for a Bethesda game

It seems like they're sampling the sound that the hl1 glock used. It's quiet, but really noticable (Best heard at 2:41) Also, these animations are really basic for a AAA game, but at least the sound design is pretty good.
I don't give two fucks what any hater says, Starfield's aesthetics and gunplay are downright beautiful. Gives me Halo Reach or Destiny vibes. It even has a little Cyberpunk mixed in. 11/10

Also just play the game like you would in real life and you have no problem. Use the full magazine. No sane soldier would reload mid combat after firing 8 bullets from a 50 round mag

I love their customization with the weapons, but the reload rly reminds me of Fallout 4 which by todays standard is awful imo with no Tac Reload and it feels so slow and clunky. well at least they did have accurate shotgun reload whereas Fallout 4 just doesnt care and just reload 2 shell and magically spawn the rest into the barrel

A lot of the animations are bad. The slide (or sci-fi equivalent) on pistols needless lock or open when reloading, even with half a mag. Then they need to be manipulated by the non-firing hand. Most modern firearms, even cheap civilian ones can be reloaded without taking sights off target. Go check out Keanu training video for John Wick for a great example.

@@IdkWhatToPutHere145 player charges the weapon (racks the slide, pulls/drops the bolt, pumps the action, etc) on every reload regardless of wether the chamber is empty or not. Realistically, the weapon only needs to be charged if you fully empty the weapon of all rounds when firing as you will need to load another round in the chamber to resume firing. If you reload from a partially empty mag, there would still be a round in the chamber and you would simply only need to load another mag then continue firing. Exceptions do apply but it's generally only for revolvers or the really exotic stuff like the laser and plasma weaponry.

I mean they couldn't even add certain weapons like repeaters and pump shotguns because the engine doesn't allow different reload animations based on how much ammo is left in the gun. If they added a pump shotgun and you fired one round and reloaded the animation would still be your character reloading all the shells as if they emptied the shotgun. It's actually really funny and pathetic that they're using an engine in 2023 that is entirely incapable of dynamic animations. Every single animation has to be indentical every time. So they have to limit weapon variety strictly to mag fed or single shot weapons so you don't notice the logical inconsistencies in the animations.
