Good finds at the thrift store. The sheets will certainly work and shorts will work out also. Another pair of shorts can’t hurt.
I wish I could come with you to Iowa . You could drop me off right after you cross the Mississippi in Bettendorf and I could stay at my daughters. I haven’t been out there since Covid. She comes to my house but I don’t want to drive that far anymore.

I concur - the Berkey system is *AWESOME* and the water tastes "natural", unlike some of the other systems!
The filters are so efficient that we have not needed to descale our coffee maker since we bought the Berkey.
We got ours for the house because the town water was so horrible tasting and was often declared unsafe to drink.
Every time I watch an episode with you, you have me laughing, smiling and inwardly applauding you. I often vocalize “Awe, I love you Lulu! So awesome!”

I think you made the right decision with the cooler. It might even work better as a lot of those cooler covers are nothing but air inside anyway. I’ve seen people fill them with spray foam. As for the roof rack, could you put a spoiler (is that what they’re called) in front of the rack. It would help with aerodynamics too, as long as the panels are getting enough air circulation. The van is looking sooo good!

I love finding great things at the thrift store! I have bought many really nice sheet sets at Goodwill that would have cost me so much more at a regular store. I am particular with condition and what they are made of and even the color, but somehow I usually find what I want. Your reference to napkins and hotel sheets are spot on.

If you haven't sewn the cushions together yet, sew the two straight sides of the cushions together and then you will have the rounded ends to fit the rounded ends of the of the top of the cooler.

Fantastic little upgrade to that cooler, Lulu! I think you’re going to be pleasantly surprised about your new cooler lid, we had an antique fridge which was wood with sheet aluminum over an insulation type board... and THAT was on the side made for the old ice blocks they would deliver.... my point is it’s probably better insulated now than it was from the factory!
I think you might be right!! I just used it for a full day and I went to change the ice packs at night, like I always do, and they were still cold, just like before! YAY!!!!

Hi Lulu, cold sinks, heat rises. I think your new diy lid is fine. Another thought is pack your foods in those insulated bags for cold/frozen foods before putting in the cooler. That helps with the shuffle to find certain foods, too. I buy best brand name towels and sheets at thrift stores too. A good wash, dry in the sun, finish in the dryer and all is good. I trust me better than a hotel/motel. 🤗 Safe and happy travels !!!
Hi Lulu...all you'd need to do to create more headroom is to install a huge skylight in the roof or raise the sides on the roof as well. That would add more value to it....by taking away and then installing...just tinking.Ciao girl.
Also the usage of rock salt in layers of ice may prolong cooling....tinkin again.

Your insulation is not only inside the cooler, but once you put that foam cushion on top, that not only will help insulate your bottom, but your food inside the cooler. Thank you for sharing.

In New Zealand we call thrift stores Opp shops (opportunity shops.)
I find all sorts in the Opp shops, in fact pretty much everything I have.
Im a Massage therapist and I buy all my sheets for the table second hand and my bed. Single fitted and top sheets.
I love cotton sheets and the old sheets are the best.
Also old blankets are cool too.
A friend of mine made a duvet cover out of two old blankets, its lovely.
When my grandkids come to stay they sleep in retro sleeping bags I found.
The kids say"Nan is that from the Olden days"!!!

What do people think you do, just go buy used clothing and sheets and use them without washing them?! Like you said, hotels, hospitals, cloth napkins in restaurants......people blowing their nose in them and Lord knows what else......LOL!!!! It's true though!!! Gross as it sounds, that's why we have washing machines and dryers!! I've seen some true grossology in my 63 years, working with kids in elementary school, and goodness knows what gets on things......that's why the washing machine was invented!! Hahaha!!! I'm sorry, but I'm having too much fun with that one. I love thrift store finds, and even if I buy it brand spanking new, it's gonna get washed before it's used at my house! That's just my rule!! 🤣🤣🤣. Anyway, I'm really excited for you about your upcoming trip, the house, and everything else you have coming up! Thank you so much for sharing your videos with us! Adorable and you can always get a magnet sign made that says anything ….. Lulu’s books….. or organizing by lulu….. or anything there’s a million things you could say and it one on each side if needed you will look like a business

You could almost use a wooden cooler like a cold storage house in the olden days. Just use the insulated covers and ice packs.
