I forgot my smoked paprika at home, so I’ve a walk to the tiny supermarket and do some research. Amazing how you’re always looking forward to your meals. We’ve camped for years so we’ve camp customs, too. I always prepare 'bowls' and we grab them and eat outside, if the weather isn’t too cold or ugly. The neighbors are making fun of us: you’re ALWAYS eating… WRONG! We’re the only ones 'eating out' every day 😁.. I’ve some potholders and some metal trays to hold away the heat from my hands. I like to sauté my cabbage in olive oil until it’s lightly browned. I cook my carrots in the sane skillet. And I have mine with mustard too. But I might try baking it. It looks good.
I feel so blessed to LOVE cabbage. Love it prepared ANY way. And, cabbage is so very good for the gut! It really is. Everyone should do research on how cabbage can actually 'heal' our gut. But, if you have an ulcer, be careful. With eating cabbage on a regular scedule, 3-4 times each week, you'll never need any Roland's or Tums! Seriously, it corrects the pH balance of the gut. Soooo, I'm a 60ish year old American woman, & I've never heard of, or tried any type of mustard on my cabbage. I'm not a big mustard fan, & I have only used traditional mustard on hot dogs, or brats. I'm going to buy a bottle of the mustard you used. I'll definitely be interesting! I'm a very southern Hoosier. I'm at the very bottom of Indiana, only one mile NORTH of Louisville, Kentucky. Very nice! Baking cabbage, new for me! I use the scissors also. One idea: Instead of a knife, try a 'bash and chop' (may be other names for this) It's a piece of wide steel with a handle, edge not sharpened, but GREAT for cutting with pressure while cutting things like cabbage, watermelon, acorn squash and the like.

Miss Lulu, if you've never had a sweet potato latte... You should make one... I had my first one at a Korean cafe in Atlanta and was blown away... No coffee, just roasted Korean/Japanese sweet potato, blended with non-dairy milk and sweetener. I haven't made one in quite some time, but I'm sure you can find a great recipe online.

Yes, there's something fabulous about cabbage and mustard, isn't there? I haven't seen that amazing smoked paprika you keep raving about, but I'll do a deep dive to see if I can find it. Any alternative you would recommend?
As a Canadian farmer, I love this video. It is so easy to contrast our cultures and our space. We sell thousands of pound of veggies in a year. I can't imagine working in a kitchen that small. You have my admiration. Maybe move to Canada.

LuLu, your forod looks delicious! However, I'm 4'11" tall and if I are that much food at a setting, I'd weigh 400 lbs. Also, I noticed that you discarded the core of the cabbage. It is packed with vitamins, cooks to a soft consistency and adds a spicy flavor. I never discard the core of the cabbage and I always peel tomatoes to eliminate the bitter taste.
Just omit the chicken (or any other animal food) and you could eat two or three plates like this delicious food and not gain weight and not consume any other pro inflammatory, disease-causing foods.

I’m learning something new, we boil our cabbage in a pot with corned beef, turnip and potatoes, makes a delicious second meal fried out. It’s a very common meal on our island, or at least it used to be, the younger crowd are more adventurous and with washing machines and dishwashers and such they have more time to spend in the kitchen cooking and baking, my opinion of course. Love your videos.
We call that New England Boiled Dinner. That's how I always ate my cabbage. But I found out by trying cabbage steaks (cooked in the oven) that cabbage can be delicious baked too.

This time, I’m going to use your recipe, but I my Ninja Foodi . I I do have some spicy mustard, but it likely has sugar. I’ll try a tiny bit 9f it just to see if I like it with the cabbage. I’m pretty sure I will! Loving your food 0lan and videos! Very nice! Baking cabbage, new for me! I use the scissors also. One idea: Instead of a knife, try a 'bash and chop' (may be other names for this) It's a piece of wide steel with a handle, edge not sharpened, but GREAT for cutting with pressure while cutting things like cabbage, watermelon, acorn squash and the like.

Miss Lulu, if you've never had a sweet potato latte... You should make one... I had my first one at a Korean cafe in Atlanta and was blown away... No coffee, just roasted Korean/Japanese sweet potato, blended with non-dairy milk and sweetener.
I haven't made one in quite some time, but I'm sure you can find a great recipe online.
FYI, Lulu does not use "sweeteners."

Cabbages should be at the local farmers market by now. Going to look for a huge one to make cole slaw and this lovely cooked cabbage recipe. Yes, there's something fabulous about cabbage and mustard, isn't there? I haven't seen that amazing smoked paprika you keep raving about, but I'll do a deep dive to see if I can find it. Any alternative you would recommend?

As a Canadian farmer, I love this video. It is so easy to contrast our cultures and our space. We sell thousands of pound of veggies in a year. I can't imagine working in a kitchen that small. You have my admiration. Maybe move to Canada.

I LOVE smoked paprika! One of my favorite spices. The smell is amazing! I have a homegrown cabbage in the fridge that I’m going to try this recipe on.

LuLu, your forod looks delicious! However, I'm 4'11" tall and if I are that much food at a setting, I'd weigh 400 lbs. Also, I noticed that you discarded the core of the cabbage. It is packed with vitamins, cooks to a soft consistency and adds a spicy flavor. I never discard the core of the cabbage and I always peel tomatoes to eliminate the bitter taste.
Just omit the chicken (or any other animal food) and you could eat two or three plates like this delicious food and not gain weight and not consume any other pro inflammatory, disease-causing foods.
Core tastes great cooked, just takes a bit longer or slice it up

I’m learning something new, we boil our cabbage in a pot with corned beef, turnip and potatoes, makes a delicious second meal fried out. It’s a very common meal on our island, or at least it used to be, the younger crowd are more adventurous and with washing machines and dishwashers and such they have more time to spend in the kitchen cooking and baking, my opinion of course. Love your videos.
We call that New England Boiled Dinner. That's how I always ate my cabbage. But I found out by trying cabbage steaks (cooked in the oven) that cabbage can be delicious baked too.

Hey, Lulu! This video popped up at the perfect t time! I just bought a savoy cabbage-my favourite. I generally simmer it briefly in a little chicken broth. This time, I’m going to use your recipe, but I my Ninja Foodi . I I do have some spicy mustard, but it likely has sugar. I’ll try a tiny bit 9f it just to see if I like it with the cabbage. I’m pretty sure I will! Loving your food 0lan and videos! I hope to be able to join a meetup either before or after meet a group of my camping friends-my U.S. Camping Family-in May, July, or Sept, or when I’m at a quilt retreat. I have also been invited to 3 quilt retreats in 2025: VA in April, PA in June, and TN in Sept. Linking trips makes it affordable, since I’m 5 1/2 hours from the 1000 Islands border crossing at I-81.
