- While retiming this, I suppose it slipped my mind how Adobe Premiere "represents" frames on the timeline. The true retime is 41:59.98, not .96. As it turns out, to conclude a run infested with frame perfect tricks, this minute barrier was broken by 1/60th of a second, or simply, one frame.

In memory of Sonny, our amazing mascot and my partner in crime. Sonny struggled against a long battle with brain cancer for 15 months, and further complications grew as time marched on. Our boy passed away on the Saturday following this run at 12:28PM Eastern Time. Thank you Sonny for supporting me through some of the hardest times of my life, and hanging in there to support me one final time while I struggled with my own health issues late last year and early this year. Around Christmas time he began to show more serious signs of decline, but he rallied once again to great health and continued fighting for just a little longer. When things finally started to turn a corner for my own health, and especially after overcoming the long and stressful challenge that was achieving this milestone, I believe he realized his work was done, and that I now had the strength to continue his legacy on Earth. He spent over 17 years supporting me, raising and growing up with me until I in part began taking care of him. His life was an inspiration across all communities I've been part of in my personal life, and especially here on the internet where he touched many of you. Rest in peace to a superstar, and thank you for giving us not just one, but two more Christmases together. You had far more than nine lives. May your spirit rest under your favorite holiday tree in the afterlife.

This was absolutely insane to watch live. I've been staying up late every night the past few weeks anxiously watching and the wait has been worth it. I'll never forget the pit I felt in my stomach last night at 2am when that timer said 42:00...
BFBB might be the greatest speedrun game of all time, yet SHiFT insists on carrying it even further beyond.
That title would go to Super Mario 64

I however can say without doubt, SHiFT is definitely one of the greatest speedrunners of all time. Just look at the WR history on SRC... every single WR since 5/19/2016 (1:06:35)...

A lot of communities that were once large in the previous decade are much tighter now. Doesn't discount the effort knowledge and skill that pushed the games this far. Why not learn about the run instead of basing your opinions solely on popularity? By that standards Subway Surfers is the "greatest" run of all time.
its impossible to say this is the last barrier you'll break with the kind of stuff that gets found over time, but for now its the greatest accomplishment the game has ever seen, congrats shift very poetic ending to this one.

Not gunna lie, I thought the 43:59 after AGDQ 2022 was going to be the last minute barrier. Two years later, you've blown my mind two more times. Good stuff man.
My guess is 39 will be it unless something huge is found.
If SHiFT can do that it will be one of the greatest achievements in speed running history.

You should do a bfbb speedrun tutorial for 2024 your old ones kind of outdated
If it were outdated I would have updated it. Beginner strats have not changed in any major way, and if you'd like to implement Goo Cage Bash in Graveyard that would be a good first route upgrade.
Pretty crazy to see the WR still being improved, even with some route change. Kinda astonished to see a skip for the platform raising cutscene after gary.
Can’t believe since starting to watch your TH-cam/Twitch a few years ago, four minutes have been cut off of the total time to beat this game, or 8.8% of it since the first 45 which is mindblowing

I dont know much about the game and its community/history, but the level of authentic dedication and commitment to the speedrun is highly appreciated and overly inspirational. To know where you were a day before this run in a drought and pulling through, not stopping no matter how many variables are out of your control. I support not necessarily for the end result of a WR, but the journey and what is learned throughout. Congrats on the clutch 41 and breaking that overdue mental barrier.
