@@f0xtai168 Hello! College freshman here. College is really different from high school. In high school you have a full day with lessons and work time for a full year (typically). In college you just go to lecture and do all of your work outside of class (typically) for one semester (then you pick new courses for your next semester). This means that whatever takes a year to teach in high school, is taught in 16 weeks in college (it can be hard at times, but I have survived so far haha). It depends on the classes that you take, but they tend to be challenging. I definitely recommend doing concurrent enrollment or take AP classes to at least get a feel of what College courses are like (if you aren't already). But oh boy when exam period rolls around the corner… you will not catch a single person with brushed hair, makeup or even wearing jeans😂 it’s yoga pants, tons of caffeine and messy hair for WEEKS
I like dressing up because it makes me feel good and confident. I used to be a student in a prestigious school for the whole of my pre-college years but i decided to apply to the top best college in my region which happens to be a free public state university. In this economy it better anyway, i have no student debt and i can work with a nice diploma to my name. The culture is different the schedule was similar to my old school. Fashion has been a part of my whole life as a student from then point on and continuing it just makes me feel more productive. Alot of people in the university who used to be from private schools does the same. The professors as well dress up well.
The last one is so accurate. You could usually tell someone’s grades based on how nicely they were dressing about halfway through the semester (at least at my college). If they’re doing well they look like shit and if they’re not doing well then appearance is usually taken care of because something’s gotta look nicer than those grades lmfao.

I did one maybe two classes a day, and weekends completely free 😂. And no early classes. My earliest is at least 9 am. Like bsffr I’m not living through the nightmare of highschool classes again
I dress up at least 2 days a week because I don't have class in the mornings. But on the days where I have an early class and have a PE class, I will often just wear comfortable workout clothes. And take a nap in my car in-between classes.
If you go to a place that is windy though, umbrellas are useless. They try to take you away like Mary Poppins, but you are too heavy and the umbrella breaks.
I wore jeans to all my classes for the first week of my first year. I have worn pajamas to every single class since that day and I'm now in the last few weeks of my second year. No one asks, no one says anything. Sometimes people just quietly nod or give a thumbs up
Great advice! This is coming from a junior in college. I always forget to bring or take an umbrella. It was terrible. And it’s okay to not dress up for class, yesterday I saw a grown man wearing a unicorn onesie. If he can wear that then y’all can wear sweatpants.
After going through my whole life having to do class after class I ain’t gonna make my schedule like that. I need a mental break after each thing, maybe even add in a few notes I forgot or didn’t have time for. I also just need time to process the information before I’m thrown into the next thing
I like to dress up to class, I dress up like I just woken up, like I'm homeless, like I'm a skater, like I own a small business. The earlier the class the less effort I put into it and that's okay. Some of my friends go in pj's and crocks to class and honestly I don't notice until they point it out
I'm currently an adult student who 100% prioritizes food and sleep. From *day one* I was only scheduling 4 classes a semester and making sure I never had more than 2 classes in a day. I'm here to learn, not die of exhaustion.
As a soon-to-be freshie, I’m absorbing any advice I can get like a sponge, so thank you for this! However, I will forever be stubborn about dressing up for class every day because I’ll be damned if I’m not the most dapperly-dressed mf in the room
the rain one confuses me. Like I had rain in my childhood, and I also never had a car in my childhood, so I'm kind of used to being prepared for it? The rest are very relatable though
Kids don’t think to pack one. I guess nobody thinks about how they’ll be walking 10 minutes or more to get to the next class outside. Most kids in the US go to school via the bus or car and their schools either have all the classes in one building or covered walkways to get to the outdoor ones. Never having to deal with rain during school makes them forget that will be an issue at university, hence why they don’t get rain gear.
@@Whoknows-mf1cv Well in Germany we mostly go by bus or by bike. But there are no school buses. You take the normal one and if you're unlucky you have to walk quite a bit. Also it rains a whole lot, like 50/50 almost. So you're always prepared for rain, except for in the middle of summer
@@naomif9964 yeah. It's the same in England. A lot of kids cycle or walk to school and we have to bring coats because it rains even in the summer. It takes me 35 minutes to walk to school and without a coat I'd be soaked by the time I get to school. Also our school is made up of lots of buildings so if it rains during the day we'll get soaking without coats. Also the fact that he said bring an umbrella is confusing as well seeing as it's always too windy and umbrellas break so easily. I never use one.
@@heidi4125 Haha yeah I have a pile of broken umbrellas cause it's almost never rainy without wind, and I always had a fold up umbrella in my school bag
I did 17 credit hours my first semester, 14 my second and between 12-6 after that. Grateful to past me though, I wouldn't be able to graduate after covid hit if I didn't have most of my classes out of the way already, I've lost all motivation and care about school, and honestly my will to live took a nose dive I'm still recovering from.
This is all very accurate. When I was a freshman, I brought an umbrella a couple months in, and literally, on day one, I left it in a lab room and never saw it again. And yeah. Don't even bother dressing up for college classes. You won't find it worth that effort after a while.
Another reason having multiple classes everyday is that your going to have a lot more homework than high school so luckily as a freshman I only have 2 classes each day right now
As the semesters go on I am slowly becoming more and more raggedy. Went from : wearing makeup, eyeshadow and all, nice outfit everyday, hair made correctly To : “I almost never got up from my bed but I managed to put clothes on in and brush my hair quickly in 10 minutes to leave” Sorry but waking up at 5 am and coming back home at like 7 pm is my death. Then I sleep for 15 hours straight and forget to study and then cry over my results to then do the same thing and I just want this to be over someone please save me please please I’ve been having exams FOR 5 WEEKS STRAIGHT I’M GONNA BREAK AND I’M TIRED OF LEARNING EVERY LYMPH NODE IN THE BODY 😭😭😭😭
The class one is so true!! There are days where mandatory events are held during everyone's dead hour, but they are so inconvient to attend because that takes away the only break for most students. I've already had too many 8-3 days without lunch
I will be moving into college this time next year, IT'S SO WEIRD TO THINK ABOUT, IT FEELS LIKE IT'S 5 MONTHS AWAY. And I promise you, Scott, I will bring that damn umbrella and I will wear the comfiest shit to class

this dude is good for social college tips and gohar khan is good for highschool/college admission tips
THANK YOU! i'm going to be going to collage in september to study design tech so wish me luck
You may have just saved me from making some horrible mistakes. You have my thanks. And my subscription.
As a college freshman, this advice is legit
I’ve never used an umbrella in my life. I live in a desert where it only rains like 8 times a year 🧍♀️
I've hardly used an umbrella but, here it rains almost daily.
Another College Tip from a freshmen: invest in some rain boots as well 😊
Jokes on you, I brought an umbrella out of paranoia 🌂
Where I’m from dressing up for class is not only common, but sometimes is recommended, especially at exams!
I live near a desert it doesn’t rain here we don’t need umbrellas
These videos are actually rly informative
the rain one confuses me.
Personally I love rain and I always have a jacket with me. So not a big deal unless it's absolutely downpouring
“You can embarrass those people on the weekend” why is that so true
Bringing an umbrella is so crucial. It helps so much during sunny days too
I got rained on once and my math professor told me to go home and drink hot soup and get warm I really loved that professor she was amazing
This actually happened to me the first 2 weeks, my shoes took 3 days to fully dry and I ran out of shoes to wear. Third week I learned my lesson
You make me not scared for college 😂 thank you for posting these amazing and helpful videos 💜
Also pay attention to what buildings classes are in so you're not like me with 10 minutes to sprint across campus
This is all very accurate. When I was a freshman, I brought an umbrella a couple months in, and literally, on day one, I left it in a lab room and never saw it again. And yeah. Don't even bother dressing up for college classes. You won't find it worth that effort after a while.
Another reason having multiple classes everyday is that your going to have a lot more homework than high school so luckily as a freshman I only have 2 classes each day right now
Ok that umbrella one is really good, I’m the first gen college kid and so this advice helped!
Thanks for sharing....Everything you said is so TRUE... Especially the dressing up part :-)
Me taking notes for this fall
I start college in the fall, so every one of these videos I see of yours, I write down the info😂
Wear whatever you’re comfortable with.
If you feel comfortable and confdent, you’ll feel better no matter what.
*when Raggedy Anne dolls scare you because of the Annabelle situation*
As the semesters go on I am slowly becoming more and more raggedy.
Went from : wearing makeup, eyeshadow and all, nice outfit everyday, hair made correctly
To : “I almost never got up from my bed but I managed to put clothes on in and brush my hair quickly in 10 minutes to leave”
Sorry but waking up at 5 am and coming back home at like 7 pm is my death.
When you live in Southern California and don't even know what the concept of what an umbrella is.
Thanks for the tips! I’m going to college next year!
My morning routine is basically just asking the phone voice assistant "will it rain today"
Not to mention the extra time before class to start/finish the work you were supposed to do.
Who is 👀watching this not in college
The class one is so true!! There are days where mandatory events are held during everyone's dead hour, but they are so inconvient to attend because that takes away the only break for most students. I've already had too many 8-3 days without lunch
That last one hits different 💀
Going to college this year, thanks for the advice👍
Thanks for the advice lol- imma need it in a couple months !!
My required classes only have 5 minute breaks in between 😭😭
I will be moving into college this time next year, IT'S SO WEIRD TO THINK ABOUT, IT FEELS LIKE IT'S 5 MONTHS AWAY. And I promise you, Scott, I will bring that damn umbrella and I will wear the comfiest shit to class
💀 I dont get the people who think its “weird” or “uncool” to bring umbrellas.
Fr my umbrella is cute and adorable and I probably picked out my outfit to match it. Umbrellas are fun people just don’t like carrying things
Thanks for the tip on schedules, now i know how to cut out more social interaction!
Me watching these videos as someone who lives in Europe and is not planning on going to college: 👁️👄👁️
as a freshman in college the idea of taking 4 back to back classes makes me want to die especially since i have a 30 minute commute there and back
College classes especially 8am’s are no fashion show. I’ve seen people in some of my classes show up looking like they just rolled out of bed 😂
Im heading into my freshman year of college next year thanks for the advice i needed it and its good to know thanks
