    Just got my M240i!!! I was looking for one for months. Someone in Ft Lauderdale ordered it and their finances must have fallen through. I happened upon their website the day it was posted. The smoothest small car ever...I bought it thinking I'll be looking around in 3 years for something else...not so sure now. Mine is all black exterior with red interior. I have a fake right knee but I can get in and out easily. Drove it 4 hours home from Ft Lauderdale and got out once, not sore or cramped up at all. Seats are outstanding. Love that I can put 2 sets of clubs, luggage and cooler in it. both seats fold down. So far, wife doesn't want to drive it, not unhappy about that!

      It's good looking overall, but many argue that it strays away from It's roots to much! Some say it would be tough to recognize it as a BMW going down the road now with the extreme changes to the lights front and back, and it's tail end being so different now!

    Great content as usual Joe, I spec'd and ordered a 22' and ended up with a 23' opting for the wheel and tire pkg, best car I have owned. Having driven my car for 4 months and watching you snap off the gears you were knocking on triple digits after the twisty bits, and thats confirmation that it is one on the best daily drivers under 60K, load up the trunk head out of town and smiles ensue. Oh and on regular 100-200 mile trips ill see 33MPG, can't do that in the turbo 4's.

    Now this is an excellent vehicle for the money. Light weight, fast, economical, and compared to other vehicles in its price point it makes a very compelling argument. The reliability of the BMW I-6 can't be understated. I am very curious to see what the new M2 or M2CS are going to look like, perhaps a twin turbo for around 430hp but lets hope the price increase isn't that much because it starts to compete with some other heavy hitters.

I think that if someone is a great driver, he can be really efficient using a manual, plus it adds an extra "sporty feeling", but for most drivers who aren't professionals, a well made automatic can be faster in most situations. Yes they cost more and require more mainteinance, but they are better in traffic too. Personally i am done with manual transmissions, i would get even a Ferrari with an auto, lol.

  • @FFE-js2zp
    @FFE-js2zp 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    This is the evolution of the135i. My 135i was ok til about 4 years old. It has incrementally cost me far more than I paid in repair costs, including the global I6 recall for sheared VANOS bolts migrating into the oil pan requiring a full tear down and rebuild that took BMW's master tech three weeks to fix. And the electrical fire that destroyed the ECU and fuse panel and all electrical components. Then all the flat panel melted in the 🌞. Endless oil leaks, broken lines, bad starter, bad intake seals, blown charge pipe, bad throttle body, brakes failed, two battery harnesses, leaking coolant reservoir, cracked coolant lines over the radiator, rattling windshield, cracked windshield three times (excessive body flex), leaking oil pan, bad oil sensor, fouled VANOs solinoids, failed boost solenoids, two water pumps failed, and a hundred things I'm forgetting.
    There are still $10s of thousands in pending repairs that I'm not doing. Needs a new convertible top, the transmission pops out of gear, has torn fake leather dispite being babied, needs a new AC compressor, has numerous oil leaks and boost leaks and disintegrating plastic engine parts. Disgusting crap. Worst car I've ever owned. Just a putrid disgrace. 130K miles.

    That's a really nice machine. To be sure it's at least half a second quicker than what BMW quotes it at (0-60 @ 4.1) and I threw all the options at it in the BMW configurator and only barely passed $57K! That's even with that red leather and the optional cooling package that fortuitously removes run-flats from the option-list. If we make it through 2022 this might be my vehicle! Melbourne Red for the win!!

    One of the best new cars you can buy for under $50k (This one has almost all options at $57k)
    Toyota Supra with more conservative styling, a back seat, a good trunk, good rear visibility and AWD

    You give all needed information and videos are great. There is only one thing that’s missing , what’s the conclusion. Is it worth the money or is there better cars for same price available.Obviously the reason we see car reviews is that it will help us decide whether to buy the car or not.

    • @ianmacdonald4163
      @ianmacdonald4163 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think I saw one review that said basically if you're looking into a golf r then they should just stretch their budget to this. I guess I see the comparison in vehicles, but they were basically saying that the increase in cost is absolutely shown with the increase in performance. Also I'm pretty sure the ecu in these new bmws hasn't been cracked yet, but this engine can easily get like 450hp with just a downpipe and tune. These things are kinda my dream future depreciated used sports car.

  • @pokerfred68
    @pokerfred68 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I own an M340i xdrive and the engine HP is more than 382, prob over 400 as BMW underestimates their reported numbers. This M240 is a monster and other than the back seat room, the trunk is larger than my M340. For 57k it’s a performance bargain.

      Yes I have the m340i and it is 400. I reckon BMW say 382 as a Germanic definition that in a mass production run, no car will be less than that....but the median car will be better for sure.
