- FIRST DRIVE: The ALL NEW M2 is here and BMW is raising the bar for 2023. On the outside you will discover all new sheet metal, carbon fiber roof, 19in whees and flared fenders. On the inside you will find the M competition colors, leather seating, massive 14.9in infotainment screen and 12.3in digital digital gauge cluster. Raiti's Rides always the best reviews on the internet hands down. These cars are almost impossible to find unless you order one - I have had the M2Comp for 2 years as a daily driver - Comfortable & fast - Love the car - like (and the same size as the old M3.

The Zandvoort Blue looks great to me interesting name for a color. The front BMW anniversary emblem is awesome, I like how the fender treatment is sculpted without any vent designs, the wheels are cool, definitely a sharp design. I don't mind the carbon fiber roof keep it clean save some weight. The interior is nice always have been a fan of BMW interiors. The inline 6 is powerful with crisp smooth shifts very engaging. The interior looks great and packs some goodies. The on throttle action is in your face goodness so thanks Joe and Steven for bringing us some German brand awesomeness!
Great review Raiti! I bought an MK7.5 GTI and an RS3 because of your past reviews. My 2019 RS3 is now built to around 1000 hp, however I’m getting that itch again.
What do you think of the new M2 vs a GT500? One of these may be my next vehicle.
That is so fantastic Matthew! That RS3 sounds like a beast. I would go M2 because I would want the manual.
@@RaitisRides Saw some reviews that point out that the M2's G87 manual gearbox is not up to standards... feels like an afterthought, just like the Mk8 Golf R's. For the Golf R, you can tell it was an afterthought to appease the North American market since it's not even available for the German/EMEA region. That curious thing about the G87, though, is that the chief engineered pointed out that he made sure the M2 had a manual option and that he would personally order one for himself with a 6mt... yet the gearbox seems to be subpar for many other journalists.
@@karmahunden I guess time will tell as more people start racing these on track. I’m excited to see what the future facelifts of this car will bring.
@@karmahunden Just the normal BMW manual gearbox. Been that way for years and years. They aren't going to invest heavily in developing a new, better one when there are so few manuals ordered and their future is bleak. It's plenty good enough though and can be upgraded (a short throw for example is a quick easy upgrade for it)

So will my new one, upgrading the exhaust (This one clearly needs a Performance Pack Exhaust)

Those wheels are sick. Love the square shaped openings in the front. Different and bold of BMW to change their look. Should definitely have a sunroof.
Sunroof is additional weight in the wrong place. They gave it a carbon roof for a reason..

Definitely on the short list, and I don't know if you heard but people put this thing on a dyno and it's putting 482HP to the wheels. And the manual is only 0.3 seconds slower to 60 so I'll be watching when you get your hot hands on that bad boy!

Raiti, would you personally get this (69k worth) over mustang GT performance package (50k worth) considering the factors resale value, etc.
You will see 50 gt mustangs before you see one of these
@@atg1338 well that's why he is asking the question. It's more of a value proposition but I think at that price point it's more of what someone likes.
If you're thinking about value proposition, you might consider buying a low mile used instead. You pretty much light $10-15k on fire right as you drive off the dealership lot with this level of vehicle.
Not with current Gen m2/m3/m4. If you check depreciation is like 10% after two years.

This color is so good I saw one at my local dealership and haven't forgotten about it since!
When i was a kid in the 80s i wanted a transformer so bad. I begged and begged my mom to give me one for my birthday. Fast forward to my birthday. I was so excited when she handed me that wrapped present. I eagerly tore apart the wrapping only to discover she got me a Gobot. My disappointment was real that day.
Incidentally I have the new M2 on order. Can’t wait to get it.

I wonder why people complain about the digital screens in the new gen s650 ford mustang but the same setup is found on most new sports cars and luxury vehicles but they say nothing about it, the funny thing is that i see most people in the comments praising the setup when its found on bmw and mercedes sports cars and many other cars but it's the opposite when it comes to the mustang

I recently sold my e90 IB M3 and ever since then I've been looking for something that is more grounded. Because of my budget, I'm looking at either a e46 M3, e46 ZHP or maybe I can stretch my budget to a first gen M2.

I probably will do the black one with red leather interior. A classic combo. However red is a very hot look for the M2 !
When using the paddle shifters in manual mode, does it hold the gear up to the limiter or does it auto shift once you hit redline?
The color is great! Also, good job BMW for not using that new grill. I absolutely detest this new trend of the flat, rectangular digital driver's displays that look like they were just glued to the dash as an after though. It has no character. I say "trend" because I noticed it in the new Mustang as well.

When I first saw the new M2 and the blue color, I didn't like either. However, a second look has completely changed my appreciation for this car and the blue color.
This is so unique and creative that it will prove to be highly desirable going forward. Nothing looks like this on the road today, in a good way. It blends old and new design ideas seamlessly. Very creative, so hats off to the design team!!!
