    Nice review man! Last year I was trying to figure out if I should get this M240i RWD or a used M2 Competition. Got a Comp with only 8000km and I’m enjoying the car since then. I was wondering how it would’ve been to get the M240i. In this video I got a lot of hints that I made the right choice. Well see which one holds it’s value better. Thanks and keep it up!

    Keeping what you said in mind about your main reason for selling it, would you recommend me to go for an 2020 M340i or a 2018 F80 M3? The fastest car I've owned is an M140i, now on a 435d GC but I miss the power and the sound🥲

      test drive them both and see which one you like. But they are quite different cars. The M3 is the more fun car, 100%, but the M340i is easier to live with, has better tech and so on. If you're only interested in the driving aspect, I'd say M3. So you need to figure out what you want before deciding.

    I don’t understand how you could have made this error, unless you hadn’t test drove the car before buying it.
    I had a M240i for a day while my M2 comp was in the garage and within an hour I could tell it was a gran tourer and not a sports car like the M2.
    Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad car. If I needed to swap my Comp in for a daily, the M240i is what I’d go for.

    Exactly what can be expected from a 'car for everyone'.
    I'm not interested in tech, comfort, 0..60 times top speed or whatever.
    Only fun on B-roads and cornering and slow enough to not danger your driver's licence.
    So, after owning a 2002, E30 2.7 (tuned) Peugeot's GTI, Golf V GTI I now ended up with an UP! GTI and an MX5.
    Most interesting car for me of any car is the Alpine A110, however I do not like automatics. Don't care about any supercar.

      quite big differences. The RS3 is FWD most of the time, while this is RWD. The Audi is more practical, but this is faster. I will say thought, surprisingly for me, the RS3 is the better handling car. I loved it, but the price of the Audi was just too high for me

      BMW usually underrates the power of its cars. So the M240i is actually close to 400hp. And considering the superior 4wd system, it's going to be faster than the rs3. Not by much...

    I'm interested to know if you regret selling your F87 M2 Competition. I used to have the F Series M240i, but always wanted the M2C. I was so looking forward to the new G series but was utterly disappointed when it came out. When I was in a position to get another BM, the choice was between the F87 Comp, and the new M240, and for me it was a no brainer. After the release of the G Series, the F Series became more desirable than ever - the last M car that was highly regarded as the spiritual successor to the E46 M3 (which I always wanted but never got to own), the last M car with the quintessential twin halos, round dials with needles, and classic BMW good looks. For these reasons alone I believe the M2C will quickly enter classic car territory because we now know those days are gone and won't be coming back. And I hear the next M2 will be a hybrid. The one after that no doubt fully electric. I looked for an M2C for a long time, several times a day and when I found a 1 owner with only 7,500 miles, I couldn't have phoned the dealership faster. It had only come in the day before - the photos hadn't even been taken to upload to the BMW Appoved Used website. I paid the deposit, viewed it 2 days later, and the following weekend I was driving it home. What a feeling. That model made perfect sense to me. Truly last of an era, low milage, beautiful looking and amazing performance. It's my garaged weekend toy and I love nothing better than going out on a lovely dry day on my favourite roads. After a session in that car I feel like I've had mind blowing sex and need a cigarette afterwards lol. And being a weekend toy is perfect - I honestly think it would be bad for my health to experience that performance every day, it really raises the heart rate and takes my breath away. What a car.

There should be an option to pick speeds >100 and speeds 100 (greater than 100) you will be limited to 130 by default.

So you were impatient and taking a risk...as you say. This is why I tell friends and family to base large buying decisions on large well established sources. • @TunedIntoCars
      @TunedIntoCars  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No offense, but that's very bad advice. Any purchase this big should only be based on how you personally feel about that car. If you don't like it, don't buy it no matter what any journalist says.
      And yes, i did buy it without a test drive because, again, there were no test drive cars in Sweden.

    • @gerard1153
      @gerard1153 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I advise people who want additional means of making a decision to review major reputable sources. I don't need to advise them to 'actually' test drive the car to make their final decision...they know to do that...and how it feels for them is just 'understood'.
      My point here is you have stated you have owned lots of sports cars and still got it wrong with your interpretation...even though highly respected "journalists' out there have already stated it is not M2-like (not a sports car)...had you done that research?
      Fair to say...all people should do their research wisely and thoroughly before making a purchase. So even reviewing people who got it wrong, is valuable - no offense =-)
      @@TunedIntoCars

    • @TunedIntoCars
      @TunedIntoCars  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I don't advise people. The only thing I reply to people asking me about cars is to go and drive it for themselves.
      No matter how much 'research' you do, until you drive the actual car you will not know if you like it or not. Both M240i and M2, new generations, are far from the old cars. They are more GT than sports car.
      So even if I would've bought the M2 instead of the M240i, the end result would be the same: I would sell it.

      If you have the cash to go up to an M2, for sure you'll be getting a better car. My only issue with the new M2 is that with BMW's price hikes, it's now just as expensive as a Cayman GTS 4.0

      Yeah cars are crazy expensive now. I was thinking about a used M2 Comp F87.
      Or something completely different like a X3M Comp pre LCI - they are good value at the moment compared to a M3 xdrive and it seems like they are very sporty despite being a SUV.
      New M2 maybe a good deal in 1-2 years because the think it’s not very loved because of its looks.
