There is a setting where the mirror will drop down for you when its in reverse and you can set how far you want it to go down in the settings but you need to set it where you want it while you are actually reversing by starting to reverse then lowering the mirrors to where you want them and save in that position. That way every time you reverse the mirrors will lower themselves to that position.
@@clintonherring no we didn’t because it was painful to watch. Even more painful knowing he was capable of parking normally but chose to ruin his car to prove his own retardism.
Didn't expect it to go like this - since I had already parked here last time before I got the Vision Park update... goes to show you shouldn't rely too much on technology 🤣
I usually look for the biggest space I can find ,there's no need to park that close to the curb, those type of curbs with square edges I give a wide berth.
For paralel parking, I created a new User for which I lower the passenger side mirror to see the rear wheel in the side mirror. This prevent me from scrapping the edge of my rear passenger wheel against the side wall border. Note: The steering curve on the Model 3 is very bad, compared for example to a VW GTI, so this makes parallel parking very difficult and you need to perform several manoeuvers when doing parallel parking, while with other cars that I owned I was able to park in a single manoeuver.
Wow thank you for this - I’ll definitely try it! Ahhh I was wondering why I’ve been struggling to parallel park this car compared to my huge BMW X3 I used to drive - this makes a lot more sense now…
Ouch , really painful . I have been driving my model y since last June and till now i stick my heard out to check for front wheel clearance for every parallel park I have done . I know people consider this silly , but better be safe than to be sorry in my opinion .
You can only adjust how far the mirror will go down in reverse by actually putting the car into reverse and then starting to reverse then stop while in reverse go into mirror settings and adjust it then save I know it is a bit tricky but it can be done as thats how I did it and now it works well and lowers the mirror to exactly where I set it every time and it goes back to the correct position as soon as I come out of reverse.
@@europeinatesla thats strange! Have you tried accessing them with your foot on the brake as maybe thats why. To be honest I can't remember whether I had my foot on the brake or not but I was definitely able to access them. That was in my 2023 Model 3 which I just sold as I have ordered the new Highland so maybe it can't be done in the Highland! I will have to try it when mine arrives soon I hope.
I've tried it again and can't get it to work. Another commenter on my other video said he creates a separate "parking" driving profile where the mirrors are adjusted perfectly for parking, so he just changes profiles - I think that's a great idea too! If you figure it out - please let me know :)
When you park so tight wouldn't you worry about other cars bump your rear or front when they have to get out? Do you check for front/rear damage each time you get in, and if sentry mode catches the plate of the offender car can you get their insurance to pay for the damage (in Portugal)?
That is normal parking in most of european cities, noone check their car every time they get in. It rarely happens that someone bumps into your car. Obviously if you would have proof of someone damaging your car you could file a claim to get your car fixed on their expense.

This is why I'm scared of a new car, I'd get a new curb rash every day or every parking spot I would say better not park here. I wonder if you can sell the new rims and buy used ones for half the price :D I think you can also buy some protections.
That was painful to watch 😅 With this wheel size and low profile tyres it’s just a matter of time before you get curbed. Nothing can be done about it. A 360 bird view would have been more useful in such situation
The new vision system more or less gives you exactly what a 360 cam is giving you (and more as you have more height informations in vision). Of cause they could add a 360 cam too - but they like to use the 3d modelling :)
I will never understand why they would solely rely on thr cameras and then just outright refuse to put a camera into the front bumper... That would literally resolve basically all the issues that Tesla Vision currently has
It’s okay, was bound to happen 😅 although it really shows not to rely on technology and actually look out the windows - pity the Tesla’s don’t have 360 cameras, that would’ve made it a lot easier
7:00 - Say what?! What a stupid design! You really need easily accessed outer mirror adjustmentbuttons (yes, buttons!). That would drive me nuts (amongst other stuff about this car). Especially when reversing with trailer (like our boat).

That wasn't the Car's vision's fault lol.
Right?! 100% operator error
I don’t think you watched to the end where he did it perfectly without relying on the car sensors.

That's a lot of sacrifice for a video dude. Respect for uploading it to YT anyway 😅

Yeah, such an easy solution that most cars have these days. Don’t know why Tesla is so cheap and don’t want to install a few more cameras

Die Hard parking. The sidewalk is higher than the tyre and the car is as long as a Station Wagon.
Good content thanks
Nice videos keep it going
I Will not buy a new tesla until tesla resolves this stupid thing. Why Tesla remove ultrasonic sensors? And not put front bumper camera?

Oh my god. The parking situation is horrible. Why do they decide to live like that?
Lol have you been to Europe? This is how a lot of European streets look like
That's actually not that bad, it can be worse, like a curb with poles so you don't go over the curb.
Why at 5:24 when a car passes behind while in reverse, there was not any noise or warning sign ? is that normal?
He wasn’t moving
Damn, fucked the rims front and rear in less then 10 minutes lol
