TH-cam Description
If you are looking to enhance the look of the interiors of your new Tesla Model 3 SR or LR, this product from Yeslak is a great small upgrade that makes the dash look a lot more sporty and elegant. Does weight affect EV range? | Moving in my Tesla Model 3 (2024)

In this video, I am doing a roadtrip and moving my stuff from Vilamoura, Algarve to Matosinhos, Porto - for a distance of 550km (340mi). I do a range test to see if there is a significant impact range when having a fully laden car (over 250kg/550lb of cargo passengers) vs without the cargo. If a Chinese firm had been the first to do this, people would've seen it for what it is: A cost cutting exercise that makes the car worse for the driver. Instead Tesla manage to market it as progressive and modern. Same story with physical buttons on the dashboard.

    Love the detail walk through. I wish you had time to cover one pedal operation as this is the one area I’m still not fully comprehending. Locally it makes sense, but what happens at highway speeds, and I have an “itch” and my foot releases the pedal for a second or two? Does the car start decelerating really quickly?

    • @europeinatesla
      @europeinatesla 15 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hi Andrew, thank you for watching. At higher speeds, it's not as apparent, it does start slowing down but it feels like it's more wind resistance slowing down than it is from the one-pedal. Usually, I just enable auto-pilot on the highway to maintain the speed without having to step on the pedal.

I did similar trips like this (me, my wife and our 5year old kid, with climatization running) and never had to stop more than once. Saw the Cybertruck yesterday in Gothenburg Sweden. I totally agree with you it's a monster in size. But only Tesla would build a car like this and put it in production. All other car manufacturers they make cars like that as a concept. Then they use some of the features to make "normal" cars... But not Elon. I like that thinking. The car is totally outrageous and crazy but that's what makes it absolutely fantastic and brilliant. If it was allowed in EU and I had the money I am not sure I wouldn't buy one... If only to make all people start talking. That's the fun part. Will go to Portugal with my Highland LR probably next spring so hopefully if I pass Porto I will tell so we can say hello and talk Highland and compare what our thoughts is about the car. Charging to 100% on a SuC is usually a waste of time. Charging to 100% on other chargers is not only a waste of time, but a waste of money - they charge by time, as well as energy, so the slower the charger, the more expensive it gets.

    • @europeinatesla

      Hi! Thank you for watching. I haven’t looked into that, but I highly doubt it’ll be cheaper than the Tesla superchargers. Is it ONLY 7c/min or are there other fees? Usually, from my experience, there’s a connection fee, then a kWh fee and then a per min fee. I’d be very surprised if it was only the per min fee. Also you’re assuming the chargers are 150kW chargers to achieve that sort of charge, a lot of them are 50kW so it’ll take much longer

      That is not correct, that is just what Shell charge you, in Portugal you still need to pay all the other taxes attached to Mobi.E like opc taxe etc. But if you really need to use the mobi e network shell is indeed a little cheaper then all other cards in Portugal i believe. But you can't order one shell card if you leave in Portugal, you need to ordered it leaving abroad.

      I find also he has allways high consumtion, I have a M3 highland SR but with the Photons, I have on highway trips 120km/hr a 134wh/km average consumption (chill mode and normal driving)

      Hi! I think Gizmo is referring to the rated range displayed on the screen… so this estimate is based on the EPA range, not the WLTP range. It is definitely possible to get above 450km per charge on the SR if you drive on chill and not on the highway. Regarding Rsca’s comment, I wonder if the photos have a huge benefit especially for highway due to aerodynamic drag increasing at higher speeds 🤔

      Haha great suggestion! But It'll definitely be slower - if I weren't in a rush, I could do this.

    Welcome to Porto, My Chinese wife and I (Bangladeshi) are also new immigrant like you. Porto has lots of rain during winter but summer is so nice and full of people. People are also so nicer here up in north. Also now you will be close to Braga beautiful mountains but also Aveiro and Coimbra (Awesome Cities).
