Use them twice a day..I’ve been learning about this stuff. I’m just doing what a dermatologist would do that read a book and listened to an instructor and got their degree or whatever. I’m not sure why but I’ve only been peeling in certain areas...I have them in very strong percentages as well...not sure why it’s only destroying layers in certain areas...

Hi Dr Dray. I’ll be 60 in a few months and LOVE your channel! Thanks for all the info on peels. I am in favor of mild peels, but the deeper peels scare me. Great video💝💝
Chemical peels have worked for me! I have had 3 medium chemical peels so far, once a month. It’s called the VI Peel. I had an outbreak of comedonal acne (seriously was all over my lower cheeks and lower jaw) and along with other prescriptions my dermatologist suggested, this has helped decrease and get rid of them about 80% now. You might get an initial breakout like me though cause it pushes the gunk out, so it’s not for everyone. But with patience, you will see results.
Very informative. I don't think I will ever have a procedure like this done. Not only because my skin is dark, but also because peels sound so scary to me.
If the correct steps are taken then damage won't be done and POC and light skin with dark pigmentation must by all means use a melanin inhibitor for a minimum of two weeks twice daily and prep the skin for two weeks before getting like a TCA peel

Hi Dr Dray! I was just diagnosed with a basal cell carcinoma on my chest which has now been surgically removed. My dermatologist recommended getting a chemical peel on my face and chest to prevent future cancers by getting rid of sun damage. Do you recommend this for that purpose?
Hi Dr. Gray, I already received two chemical peels from the PCA skin care line. The second peel consisted of the sensi and salicylic acid. I wasn't being careful with sun exposure for the first two days following my peel and by the second week, my skin began to break out more than usual compared to the first peel. And the face washes I've been using contain lactic acid PCA Facial Wash and PCA Facial Wash Oily/Problem skin. Once I added the PCA Smoother Toner with the Facial Wash Oily/Problem my skin began breaking out more where my congested had already existed. Some where becoming cystic and very painful to sleep on either side of my face. The esthetician I went to see for my chemical peel didn't even want to do my chemical peel because of how raw and dry my skin was. Currently, I'm just washing my face with their regular Facial Wash and moisturizing with their ReBalance and Skin Balm moisturizers. Do you think this breakout was triggered by introducing the new cleanser and toner or maybe a combination of the chemical peel and new products? Hope to hear from you soon! Best, Nancy
I keep seeing all these people on TH-cam doing skin peels at home with 30% TCA. I’m not a doctor but that sounds insane. Thank you for putting the message out there that these peels need to be done by board certified PROFESSIONALS ONLY. Thank you for the educational content :)

Dr Dray, thank you once again for the wonderful information regarding skin care. I have learned so so much from you. I am 60 years old, I have been using Tretinoin for about a year and a half. I am looking to add something to help reduce fine lines, sunspots from years of not using sunscreen. I am diligent with sunscreen now. I have been researching microneedling with PRP. I intend to find a good cosmetic dermatologist who offers that service..What do you think of micro needling? The stronger peels scare me a little. I would appreciate any more information you can give. Thanks again, Anne
Dermatologists wouldn't touch 10 or 30% AHA/BHA. It is more common for them to be performed by dermal therapists/aestheticians (trained, not self proclaimed). Superficial, light and some medium solutions can be performed by DT's. Whereas some combination, medium and deep peels 50-70% should only be performed by cosmetic doctors or dermatologists. I'm also a fan of mineral sunscreens as opposed to chemical sunscreens. It's worth the slight whitey film.
Dr. Dray 😄 can you please make a video about laser peeling (for acne)? Do you think it's effective? because it's really pricy Thank you for the information ❤

We did glycolic peels in esthetician school. It was 40% free acid so could only be left on the skin for up to 1.5 minutes. That was some stout stuff. We used RX Systems from a derm Dr. Samuels. It was great. How do you feel about using glacial creams with glycolic acid in them everyday?

I am not advising u to go ahead and do it but I am just suggesting that it really is one of the best treatment you can do for deep scars if you are not looking to spend on the expensive treatments
I did 30% TCA chemical peels before but I never had any discomfort during the procedure or after. In fact I usually fall asleep during them.My skin gets slightly red and the results are quite subtle even after 2-3 times. I have thick oily acne prone skin. I’m still happy with the results but I’m always wondering if there is something that would suit my skin better.maybe different percentage or different kind of peel? I don’t any results with glycolic peels at all.

I would really appreciate if anyone who had a similar experience can share their success stories in getting rid of hyperpigmentation. Dear Dr.Dray, please if you could guide me on this

Can i use 6%glycolic acid cream to exfoliate my facial skin at home? I used it daily at night for a week and my skin tolerated it. Is it safe to use at home like i am using? Does it work in this way. How can i exfoliate at home?
I'm naturally olive skinned and looking to get a superficial chemical peel, I recently heard that a chemical peel may cause hyperpigmentation of people with brown and dark skin, I have olive skin so I don't know if I fall into that section
Love love your channel . Can you do more videos with inserts of skin conditions. Like what certain skin issues look like....Visuals are awesome...love all the info you provide
Saku... I hope you got that peek in a safe manner. If you got it done at a professional they should have tell you what to do before and after... always use SPF best 50... SPF 30 can be ok but for best coverage 50 is the bomb...also after that peel do not use any actives, retinol... just use a good moisturizer that is rich in lipids like Cerave ( if you can use Cerave) try Euricen or Cetaphil. Ok please don’t mind that I came in with my 2 cents... lol
Does anyone know what long term effects these cause on the skin? For instance if you have a few done every year for, say, 10 years? Would this damage the skin long term in any way? Sun damage to skin, more wrinkles long term or even dehydrated skin. Or does it not work like that? Thanks.
Long story time share about back acne and peels for anyone interested- I had moderate to severe back acne all across my back which also had left some pigmentation left from healing spots. I asked my derm about a chemical peel, which she never had done before on the back. I was overall happy with the results. I had a series of 3 peels. It definitely kicked off my acne healing and then I was able to maintain well after by consistently using a SA wash on my back a few times a week. I remember my derm was excited I wanted to do it because she wanted to see if the results were worth it for others with back acne. The first treatment was pretty meh because she used the lowest strength and the skin on the back was just too tough it seemed like for that to be effective. The second two, whoo boy! I felt those. Not in anywhere unbearable but I definitely felt the burn. Then the following days it was kind of funny/gross because when I went to take my shirt off at the end of day over my head a little cloud of dead skin would poof all around me. Was the peel necessary to heal my back acne? No probably not but I am glad I did it because I am someone who gets really discouraged if I don’t see results and give up, so kicking it off with a peel gave me confidence and a great head start to heal it and it definitely encouraged me NOT to pick because I didn’t want anymore of those dark spots all over my back after going through that.
I hadn't watched any of your older videos for a while but the difference is jarring. You've come so far!

Phenol peels. It has to be the deepest peel to really work for anti-aging, according to my dermatologist. I’m not sure how often is recommended.
Thank you for the informative video! I love Vi Peels and am now more educated about peels overall.
Best, Nancy
Whats a skin balm moisturizer?
I keep seeing all these people on TH-cam doing skin peels at home with 30% TCA. I’m not a doctor but that sounds insane. Thank you for putting the message out there that these peels need to be done by board certified PROFESSIONALS ONLY. Thank you for the educational content :)
This video was really helpful, please do a video on microneedling ❤
Thanks!
Dr dray you are the best! Thank you so much for all of you informative videos! I look forward to watching them everyday❤️❤️
thanks!
As the speaker relays " a chemical peel is recommended for tired skin, but not acne or scares." Ironically, in my view, and bout proximity 6:15 the lecturer appears to have red-to-scourge skin. (she said Sylleric acid) What kind of peel is that? Also, she recommends putting sunscreen : doctor Roche. afterwards, " is it for smoldering? In Andria's opinion, people depend on remedies for body & appearance beautiful. So, is a hydroxyl more like it, and board certified dermatology does it have to have a certified stamp or can you print it on a computer? Lisa
great video! i had microdermabrasion and chemical peels when they first kind of became popular about 17 years ago done by a plastic surgeon..i used s copper based cream they recommended for the dryness. i think the procedures made a big difference in my skin.
glad to hear you had good results Ms Jill! Thanks for sharing :)
Please do a video dedicated to laser procedures 🙏🏼
i said i would :)
I love chemical peels ... they take time but are worth it
Love, love, love your daily vlogs and great skin care information. I feel like I am enjoying time with a friend. I would be most interested in learning more about the laser resurfacing...how long do the improvements last? Thank you, sending "warm" wishes from Alaska ☃️
Thanks! Stay warm :)
Great video again. You should be paid for this!
thanks!
Mrs Senta
She is getting paid! That’s what having your own TH-cam channel is about!
Yes, would love to hear you speak on lasers! Thank you Andrea🌸
:)
Dr. Dray, how effective is chemical peel for post inflammatory hyperpigmentation caused use to insect bite? 09:00 ?
I'm done watching my series on Netflix so now your channel is going to become my new series 😊 I've already watched several of your videos && I feel like I always learn something from them && I really like that! One quick question tho, I know this is oot but was wondering at what age can i start introducing my daughter (she turns 12 in April) to moisturizer? TIA!!
Thanks! now
Hi. Dr Dray. Love your videos. I like the fact that you are honest and not trying to sell expensive products that are costly for us normal folk !. Question, I had some skin tags around my neck that occurred during pregnancy. Was informed that they were not related to pregnancy hormones. However, they have not reoccurred. What is your take on skin tags? Thanks again.
Thanks! i address skin tags in one of my very earliest Q&A videos
I see folk in u tube doing these peels and so glad I listened to you today . I I’ve used Peter Thomas Roth 20% Glycolic Jumbo Swabs and it did okay especially on pores and brightness of my face
My main question, If I got a 40 to 70% TcA peel, could it lesson appearance of my deep furrow line between my eyes. ?? Please lmk I so trust you.!
Check out platimum skin care. Also they have channel. You need to look at preparing the skin to about post peel inflamtion which can leads to discolouration
Dr. Dray just wondering what you think about RODIAL products? Would love to hear your feedback plz. Thanks.🌸
Thank you so much for doing these types of videos. So much amazing information.
thanks!
Thanks again, Anne
i wouldn't chase after prp or microneedling.....data is not there yet and i haven't seen anything yet that makes me think they are worth it
Vh
Thank you Dr Dray, getting one done and didn’t know what to expect. Thanks 🙏🏻
You rock Dr Dray.... don’t ever change. what is the bottom line. Ya or nay to chemical peel.
Do you think it's effective? because it's really pricy
Thank you for the information ❤
I think you are not only saving us money but also from doing damage to our skin.Eating properly, sun protection, moisturizing, thats good enough for me.Not a fan of pain or looking like a lobster. lol
:) pain is not fun
Does chemical peels have an expiration date? I bought some peels (tca, glycolic) a few years ago and I stopped using them when I started having babies. Your videos are so helpful and informative
Great video. Always learn something new from your channel. Can you do a video on skin cancer? I've had three basal cell carcinomas over the past 8 years. I am diligent with sunscreen, hat, and clothing but I still develop these around my nose area.
Thanks! good idea
Hello Dr ur information is very good. I done the chemical peel and am having itching in the face after complete peel. And which is best moisturizing cream I can use. Plz reply
Hi please read this! I have a small surgical scar on my cheek that I really want to get rid off. Can anyone give me some advice as to what I should do? Chenab peels, home remedy’s etc!! Anything at all would be greatly appreciated
Vikings123456789 TCA cross!! Its amazing!!! I do it at home myself and I know I shouldnt but i did ALOT of research before trying it and i’ve had no issues. If anything, I am so happy with my results!! I have never been this happy with my skin, ever!! Its great for deep acne scars and any other scars that you might have. I am not advising u to go ahead and do it but I am just suggesting that it really is one of the best treatment you can do for deep scars if you are not looking to spend on the expensive treatments
Look into microneedling it's helped me with my scars.
Hard pass now on this. Thanks for the info Doc!❤️
:)
Maybe it was 30%. I can't remember but we as esthetician did these.
Hi Dr. Dray! Would you recommend chemical peel for extremely dry skin. The lady at the clinic told me I have dehydrated oily skin. But all I feel is dryness and tightness. I’m assuming that’s dry skin no? Anyway would you recommend chemical peel for already dry sensitive skin with acne scars + wrinkles? If so which one? Thank you so much for posting these educational videos
Wow if you cut your hair short, it looks so good on you! Great change.🤗
Thanks for this great info,
How do I know if my dermatologist is a cosmetic dermatologist and has had special procedural training?
ask
So would you advise against at home drugstore AHA/glycolic peels even at low concentration?
Can you make a video about atopic dermatitis??? I’ve had it for yearsssss it comes and goes. But now I’m getting them on my eyes. Anything to help it???
These informative videos are just fabulous! Thanks so much.
thanks!
Thank you so much for all the info on peels, you're always such a fountain of information!!! XOXO Sharon
Love your channel I e started using habo laba and I love it compared to my old skin medica I feel like it works just about the same with out the budget draining fees so Thankyou I’ve learned so much 😁
Thanks!
My dermatologist told me to get CP to remove acne scars and when i asked her to give me information about she said it’s a simple procedure and will only take 5 to 7 minutes….
Andrea! thank you for your video!!! My question: some blogger wrote that people who really love chemical peels & do them all their life, in their 70s-80s they'll have more wrinkles than their peers who've never had peels in their life. IS THIS TRUE?????
I was burned two years ago with a 70% Glycolic Acid peel which left me with hyperpigmentation on cheeks. Since then Ive been trying to find solutions treatments to treat the spots. I would really appreciate if anyone who had a similar experience can share their success stories in getting rid of hyperpigmentation.
Dear Dr.Dray, please if you could guide me on this
Your dermat burnt your face or you done it from your own
Thanks for all your information!! I’m about to do my first chemical peel and I’m looking for a lot of questions I have!!! You gives me a lot of those answers!!!! 😀
I'm in my undergraduate studies and I'm obsessed with your channel! I want to go into dermatology, but was wondering if you could do a video on your education/advice! I have 2 years to decide to pursue medicine!
study hard
Schedule a chat with the person over your school's pre-med program, your academic advisor, and some bio/chem/health science professors. They can give you a good idea if you're on track, how to get there, or if there are other directions that could be great career pathways for you to consider.
Can i use 6%glycolic acid cream to exfoliate my facial skin at home? I used it daily at night for a week and my skin tolerated it. Is it safe to use at home like i am using? Does it work in this way. How can i exfoliate at home?
Dr pls tell right age for starting home chemical peel 🥺🥺
Hi Dr dray, I love ur videos.
Is 10% glycolic peel safe to use on my dark skin
If so how many times per week
Hey use lactic acid as it is gentle and safe.
I'm naturally olive skinned and looking to get a superficial chemical peel, I recently heard that a chemical peel may cause hyperpigmentation of people with brown and dark skin, I have olive skin so I don't know if I fall into that section
hi, what do you think about gel peels? does it really work
So can you tell me to go ahead and try it ?
Love love your channel . Can you do more videos with inserts of skin conditions. Like what certain skin issues look like....Visuals are awesome...love all the info you provide
Thanks!
Thank you, Dr. Dray. I have hyperpigmentation around the mouth mainly my chin. Would chemical peels work on that?
Hi Doctor, can we go with Chemical peels while we are on Accutane? Pleaseee let us know
What sunscreen and cream do you recommend me during the process of pos-peeling? ☺️
I don't know if it's necessary to say that my skin is oily.
Ok please don’t mind that I came in with my 2 cents... lol
@@luisaarch9645 thank you very much Luisa 😊
Does anyone know what long term effects these cause on the skin? For instance if you have a few done every year for, say, 10 years? Would this damage the skin long term in any way? Sun damage to skin, more wrinkles long term or even dehydrated skin. Or does it not work like that? Thanks.
Dr Dray....what are your thoughts on the CO2 Fractional Laser?
Hi Dr. Dray. Thank you so much for educating us about this procedure and the many other things you teach us on... You are a great person, thank you!
Thanks!
Thank you Dr. Dray, you answered a lot of the questions I had regarding chemical peels. Would love the video on laser treatments.
glad to hear this was helpful Ms Debbie
Long story time share about back acne and peels for anyone interested-
I had moderate to severe back acne all across my back which also had left some pigmentation left from healing spots.
No probably not but I am glad I did it because I am someone who gets really discouraged if I don’t see results and give up, so kicking it off with a peel gave me confidence and a great head start to heal it and it definitely encouraged me NOT to pick because I didn’t want anymore of those dark spots all over my back after going through that.
thanks for sharing!
I have a lot of sun damage on my face, what would you recommend?
You are totally awesome. I trust everything you say on all your videos.
