Thank you for this video!! I’m curious to know if you think tretinoin should be used leading up to an in-office chem peel…? I’ve been getting peels for about 20 years, and many years ago I was always told to stop tret 1 week prior to a peel. In the past few years, I’ve been told that the thoughts on this topic have changed, and tret can be used leading up to the peel (and actually boosts the peel’s effects). I’ve had dermaplaning prior to superficial chem peels and been told this boosts effects as well.
I will say that when it comes to in home products similar to the one they're talking about, I use them weekly and I never stop using my tretinoin. It hasn't ever given me any ill result, and I use a pretty high dose of tret.
Question! When you see propanediol in ingredients (like on this L'oreal product), is that 1,2-propanediol (which is also propylene glycol) or 1,3-propanediol? Asking because I know through allergy testing that I have a propylene glycol allergy, but I'm not sure if I need to avoid all products that also say propanediol. Thanks! Good video.
According to Paula’s Choice, propanediol is also known as 1,3-propanediol, and propylene glycol is also known as 1,2-propanediol. Hope that helps ❤️
No
@@StefanieMorgan-b3r Agree. They wouldn't even do a peel on me the first time I went to a salon because I didn't have a skin care routine packed with all of those pigment inhibiting ingredients and was only using SPF in summer. Now I do lighter peels more often and have an arsenal of serums to back them up.
@@StefanieMorgan-b3r-I have the Eucerin Anti-Pigment, do you have any other recommendations? Thank you
@@Gem-n-life Yes! Numbuzin No. 5, Naturium Tranexamic Acid, Facetheory Exoglow, Remedy Dark Spot Serum, Fade Bright by Platinum Skincare (this one I don't recommend for sensitive skin because it contains alcohol), Queen 7 in 1 Serum. These all contain more than one pigment inhibitor which I think is better than just having one. Urban Skin RX has a product called Cysteamine as well which can be safely used with any other active including heavier hitters like Hydroquinone. Hope that helps 🥰
You guys should do an updated video on how to remove blackheads.
Hey, Dr Shaw and Dr Maxfield. Just wondering if you’ve done a review of Geologie Skincare and wondering if you could in the future, I think they’re pretty good but would love to know what yall think.
Why does L'Oreal bother putting fragrance in anyway?
Would you recommend the at home peels like you can buy online like 10% BHA
I use a 10% BHA and my skin has completely transformed. I did go through a week of slight purging though
I just made my own with salicylic acid and propylene glycol (wayyy cheaper than the little bottles you get and it works the same)
@@katiepeter8794 thank you!
Please do an episode on how to get rid of eczema scars for skin of colour.
L’Oreal is out of their damn minds for putting fragrance and yellow and blue coloring in this product. It’s a NO for me. 👎🏻💩🤦🏻♀️ Always say no to dyes and coloring.
Do you need to stop Tretonoin? How many days? Thanks.
I feel its STUPID to put fragrance in a heavy peel product. Why risk the possibility for contact dermatitis?
The only thing that i use is The ordinary AHA BHA peeling solution😎
Same here, it leaves the skin soft as baby skin !
You mean _Báthory' s Elixir_ ? 😜
*Cries in canada*
Also, wild that a Canadian company cannot sell one of their most famous products in the country they were founded in.
@@honeybee347 I buy it on Beauty Bay
It does sting, I couldn't take it.
I just saw this rroduct at Target & I will be trying it out.
Do you guys have another peel that you recommend? I’m in Canada and I simply cannot purchase it
I’d love to know what you think about Biologique Recherche Lotion P50, especially 1970 which has phenol in it…? Says they can be used daily. Would really like your wisdom on that and how safe it is. Absolutely adore your videos and guidance as always!❤
If I’m already Microneedling (Dr Pen M8) and using an RF device (Amiro S2) would I benefit anything additional doing a chemical peel?
Does this procedure lighten the skin 🤔?
Does it affect sun ☀️ damaged skin 🤔?
What about fine lines and wrinkles🤔?
Will the sun 🌞 spots resurface after a chemical peel 🤔?
What treatment would you recommend for rolling scars?
Microneedling
can chemical peels help with chicken pox scars? (ones that are sunken)
Thanks for the video! Can you do one on skin tightening/lifting home devices like TriPollar, medicube or amiro?
Great video ! Could you make a video about IPL ? mistakes etc... I love your content !
Recommendations for a BHA/salicylic acid FREE chemical peel?? I'm allergic & it's proven difficult to find the right product
Can u use this with adapelene or Tret?
Best options for face lifting without surgery please??
I would love a video about the Allies of skin brand! They are pretty expensive and i wonder if the ingredients and trials are as good as they say they are😊
I would like to see the phenol peel become more available
please post a video on elbow darkness
This has yellow 5 in it 😬 - I’ve read it’s really bad to ingest but is it damaging when applied topically?
What kind of peel is good for neck and chest lines? I once had obaji and it itched and ended up scarring
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO ABOUT LYMECYCLINE
Not on every product it says how long to leave the acid on. For example I use Vishy B3 and it is not mentioning it on the instruction sheet.
What about the Jessner peel?
Do you know of a site to go to to look for the best deep peel drs for where we live?
how often do you suggest?
How do you use this if you are using tretinoin? I can’t use it 4 days a week if i use tretinoin twice a week
I had several chemical peels at my dermatologists office for my dark spots und hyperpigmentation. We did several treatments with increasing percentages every other week so my skin has time to calm down in between treatments and it did exactly nothing for me. My skin did not even react or peel or flake. Hyperpigmentation also looks the same, no result. I am wondering what they put in that chemical peel because the percentages were quite high…🤔
A dermatologist saying a person he knows nothing about using too much precaution for sun protection is just strange.
People with autoimmune and on certain medications or those that have just had procedures cannot over protect their skin from the sun. Wear the hats , use umbrellas and sunscreen some are sensitive to sunscreen so there’s that too.
Dr Maxfield in the thumbnail looks like he just had a good time with something 🤣😘
If these are injury reactions: does that mean you basically make your face a giant scar? And with microneedling?
Does a medium peel get rid of melasma or does it just make it look spotty
Are chemical peels ok for those w mild melasma?
How about oil peeling . I have seen it online not sure your thoughts
Can you do a video on eczema
