Don't place fuel refinery right near the water extractor because while working, it generates dust and you'll have to maintain your fuel refinery more often. It is not advantageous at all! Pls like so pravus can see.
He also should be aware that he can queue up research and scanning. Its not as important for the scanning, but analyzing anomalies might give enough research to complete a tech and then some, and that extra science will be wasted if nothing is queued ... I think.

Love Surviving Mars, its a great game. Be careful about placement of things that require advanced materials for maintenance like your Fuel Refinery. You placed it right next to your Water Extractor, which produces a lot of dust in it's radius, increasing the frequency that buildings will need maintenace
Alot of buildings have a grey area were other buildings in that area will need more maintenance so putting fuel refineries next to extractors you will use up more resources in the long run.
I bought the deluxe edition for like 30 USD while watching this because I immediately fell in love with the game. Thanks Pravus, and keep up the wholesome content

One thing I’ve learned to pay attention to is how close my dust-producing buildings are to everything else, once your base gets big maintenance becomes murder.
Just a couple notes. While Surviving Mars and Surviving the Aftermath are both published by Paradox, they are made by different development studios. Usually, when setting up a new dome, the first buildings after a living space should be the basic 3, grocer, diner, infirmary to see to your colonists most basic needs. Also, for your first colonists it helps to filter for the sexy trait, as it helps increase the odds of an early baby. By going for rare metals extraction before polymers/machine parts/electronics production, you are actually going to lose money; you will spend more importing those than you will make exporting rare metals.
IIRC USA just broke the agreement like a couple of month ago with reasoning along the lines of "dont hinder our space progress, capitalism makes everything better"

The "squeeze money out of everything" approach is giving me physical pain. Even more so since you are making many mistakes. Like placing stuff near dust producing buildings, starting with rare metal production immediately and not making sure at the beginning that you have your basic ressources at your starting site. You lucked out with water big time since you did not mak sure to get any source of alternative water production. Additionally you don't need the probes if you just scatter the landscape with a few sensor towers (which become free of maintenance or power cost very early). Starting metal or rare metal production is a waste of workers which just slows you down. You do not need the money in the early game anyway. If you can close the founder stage early your profits would snowball way quicker.

Hey Pravus can you play Terragenesis its more of a idke game but its entire concept is all about terraforming literally every single world in the solar system and beyond. You can choose factions, create satellites, and create a biosphere but you can’t look the planet close up.
When you told us we never saw the game on the channel, I was kinda suprised but i watched so many play this game, you might have fallen trough the cracks. Happy that we can rectivie this error now. Go Pravus.

The best way to terraform Mars is to encapsulate it mechanically and then pressurize inside the encapsulation.

Please start placing dust generating buildings like the water extractor, metal extractor and land the ship further from other buildings. Also don't fret that much over polymers, you can use the harvester all over the map to gather metal and polymers (if you can access the region lul)
I play a mobile games called TerraGenesis. There you can terraform a massive amount of planets and moon. It is based on real technology. You even can design your own life
Your gameplay is good i think because you practice and know the best way to play it out so thats why it becomes interesting. like that water deposit right next to you i don't think that was just luck, same with rockets use less fuel, why have you got that research straight away, because of one of the settings at the start right? no complaint, its good. just curious.
I rarely used drone Hubs, until I could create my own electronics. I just kept buying RC Commanders as they didn't need maintenance and I could freely move them. At one point I had over 40 sitting around.

Another tip comment: The large gray radius around extractors are dust zones which will increase the maintenence rate of buildings

Don't be fooled ... a game can take a while if you want to get max terraforming done. Big jump cuts may be required.
