- 1997 gets off to a wretched start as the Hammers show nothing up front and lose at home to Nottingham Forest. Hugo Porfirio snatches a replay at a snow-bound Wrexham and there’s a glimmer of hope from a 0-0 draw at Anfield but goals just cannot be found - a home defeat to Leeds and failure in the replay against Wrexham see the fans calling for Redknapp’s head and demanding that the Board engage with Michael Tabor, millionaire West Ham fan and racehorse owner who has put £30 million on the table as an cash injection offer. The board know that such offers do not come without strings but it gives them food for thought: Invest? Sack Redknapp? Get relegated? They turn Tabor’s offer down and choose to invest and release funds for Redknapp to buy Paul Kitson from Newcastle and John Hartson from Arsenal for a combined £5.5 million. If the darkest hour is just before the dawn then surely better times lay ahead.
Excellent content (you little wonder you)! But Hush, we all know the next episode is going to be even better! COYI

Nice one, cheers as always Rob 👍⚒⚒
Even though this has spoiled my Saturday morning routine, I'm still grateful 👍
Sorry about that. You could save it for Saturday? It’s a trial for now to see if views improve. I’m told Saturday mornings have too much competition.
Thanks Rob. Been having withdrawals!!
The 98/99 season should be uploaded into different parts.
Been a fan since 1984 and genuinely had no idea Mike Newell ever played for us...
Well he appeared on the pitch. Whether he played or not is debatable. Useless.
