People in the UK are getting in the habit of saying no mobile phones at ceremonies! I love it as makes for less work on the day. Spoils the shot all the mobiles.
I can't begin to explain how much I learn from these videos compared to any other youtuber/tutorial/guide/etc. Closing both doors halfway and using them to frame photos and cut down on harsh light on both sides was galaxy brain mode photography. Watching the GoPro completely blow the exposure back n forth demonstrates how harsh the lighting was, yet the resulting photos were great.
This was a great video. Amazing to see how you used 2camera bodies; you worked that small room. Pics came out great too. Thank you for sharing this projective.
as you mentioned that you don't want to interfere with the ceremony brings to my mind: i've just currently been invited to a wedding as a guest and of course i was interested in the work of the wedding photographer and he killed the whole ceremony with his autofocus confirmation beep..
+Jim Alpin No offense. So please don't take it that way. Any good photographer will use manual focus to shoot a wedding. There should be no sound at all. I don't do weddings because you get one shot to get it right. If you can't shoot a photo without auto you shouldn't be photographing a wedding.
+Nina Shevchenko Do not shoot a wedding in auto! You will end up with photographs no bigger than an 8x10 because it will distort. Practice shooting people in motion. Weddings can not be redone. This is their big day.
this was the most difficult ceremony i shoot in my life, jajajaja those words really got me, would love to shoot in those conditions! great photos btw! you should try to shoot in Latinoamérica where almost all weddings are at night without natural light
You did a great job! When it's so tight you just have to be ready for everything! I thought you might tap the pops but you did a good job staying out of the way and still getting the shot. That wasn't easy. Good analysis of the room. You have to be light on your feet. You even did a quick lens change to get in. I liked it! Learned a few things. Good stuff. How do you feel about the mirrorless cameras and electronic shutter. Those are dead silent! They wouldn't hear you anymore! You can change between mechanical and electrical. So you can shoot something like the vows if you thought it was necessary without distraction.
love the fact that i'm watching this video before i shoot a small difficult wedding myself. I hate being in the way at weddings, and today i just might have to. :( not looking forward to it! but you defff have gave me more confidence for today.
More live videos like this on my channel! Also- these images are a bit orange. Accidentally left the full LUT adjustment later on everything. My mistake.
You know you ask the couples to try and not look down as they walk to and from ...but they still do, they can't help it. Nice shooting... Also i like to step outside if time permits, and take a few lateral shots through the glass from the courtyard when the light is streaming through.
Very educational... Thanks Taylor... I wanna take up photography as well but it's too expensive for me.. just gonna stick with Mobile photography.. hopefully one day I can afford Canon SL2 or T7i haha
I recently visited my daughter in Chicago who shoots with a Canon 6D. We compared shutter noise between her camera and my D750. Hers is so much quieter! I'm not about to switch to Canon, but the comparison did give me disappointment in my Nikon D750. I enjoyed your video of this wedding.
Demanding location Dude. I think a 24-70 2.8 would have been a nice choice during the ceremony since you shot at 2.5 anyway. Something like a Canon 24-70 2.8 usm ii, since it has almost prime lense optics. Thanks for the videos!
My hardest wedding photoshoot was last early this month... Where they're having a javanese traditional wedding but the decoration was just awful and there's a pillar in front of them so I can't take picture straight, also the place is ridiculously small also it was raining pretty bad... It was a complete disaster
Either some one has made a cold shoe to gopro mount or just a cold shoe to 1/4" screw adaptor and then Gopro's tripod mount screwed into that. At least that's how I have done it before.
Hi, im doing wedding photographer POV as well, im just started with one video. Looking forward to do more. i wonder how do u attach your gopro to your camera?
lovely videos...so informative! You make me slightly dizzy watching you using that second camera without a strap, any reason you dont have a holdfast or a spider holster?
There should be a general rule with weddings that have a hired photographer: no cameras allowed, including iPhones. I understand you want the memories too, but you are ruining what someone has paid for (Usually the people who are getting married)
watched like 10 behind the scenes videos in 2 days and Subscribed. Two quick questions, I saw you shoot in Manual mode, do you set your own ISO as well or set it to Auto? And did you really change your lens without turning your camera off @5:31?? :)
Hey, really love your video... Question, so the clients were not bothered by the lighting situation? That's always a concern I have, trying to overcoming worrying about things I can't control, especially when they pick their venue and time of the ceremony. Thanks in advnace for the feedback :0)
Hey Taylor! Great images! Anyway, what is your bread and butter for weddings? I know you use 70-200 for versatility, but for the wider end what do usually fall back too
I would love to second shoot with you.. your outlook on your work makes me think about my photos.. btw you make shooting a wedding look easy.. it is not!!!!!!!
Thanks for the video and time you spent passing on valuable and entertaining information. Do you mind giving me an idea of the shutter speed you’re using for processional/recessional? Without a flash, I’m curious as to how you avoid motion blur and high iso noise? Thanks!
Thanks for posting this Taylor! You're a big inspiration to plenty newbie photographers, including myself. I'm second shooting my first wedding here in two weeks, and I've been cramming my brain with as much info as possible. Two questions.. One, would there be any way to get a video (Edited, or unedited.) from your gopro of an entire ceremony up on your channel? Watching someone work is the best way to learn, I say. I know that that'd be pretty long, but maybe cut out the bits that don't help that much? Maybe even just a 10 minute video of the stuff you thought was important. That'd be incredibly helpful to tons of people. If you've already got something like this up, or know of someone who has posted something like that, it'd be great if you could point me in that direction. And two, how do you mount the gopro? It's such a neat angle and I love it. I want to use it for my portfolio's promo video. Thanks again! Keep up the good work. You're one of my favorite photography channels. Hands down.
+treyishuman Thanks Trey! I'll for sure put up a full ceremony. Just waiting for one that I'm only doing photo for (I usually do photo/video coverage which looks super confusing on camera) I mount it with a flash bracket type thing that I put some extra pieces on to convert it into a tripod mount for the GoPro. I pretty much just went to the camera store and built a rig from accessories. If you find an easier way, let me know haha because mine looks pretty ridiculous
Thank you for sharing. Do you manually focus? You were shooting so fast and I was waiting for a beep! I'm needing to upgrade. I'd love to have my auto focus work that fast!
I thought it wouldn't be a D750 because you change lenses from one to another, maybe it was just for the POV video, I also think it might be a D600, thanks for replying!

Thank you highlight slider
yes but a speedlite can help :D
It's always interesting to see how other photographers shoot ceremonies! Thanks for the video
Whoa... this was an awesome video. I'd love to watch more live event coverage like this!
+ANigerianPrince more coming soon!
the 70-200 allowed you to zoom past the annoying iPhone shooters.
Joshua Vince i hate those iPhone shooters and its always the Aunts and uncles of the couple lol
People in the UK are getting in the habit of saying no mobile phones at ceremonies! I love it as makes for less work on the day. Spoils the shot all the mobiles.
This is about the most ridiculous wedding I think I’ve ever seen! Good job photographing this freakin shoebox!! Wow
dont know why but this gave me chills. u got a very calm and relaxed attitude. also great video!
WOW!!! That was a very small room, I would have freaked out, but great video and photos.
This venue may have been tough to shoot in but dang, I love it. It's clear that this are loving guests and a very intimate ceremony.
I can't begin to explain how much I learn from these videos compared to any other youtuber/tutorial/guide/etc. Closing both doors halfway and using them to frame photos and cut down on harsh light on both sides was galaxy brain mode photography. Your final images are so stunning, love it.
Nicely done! I don’t find videos like you put out anywhere. From a new photographer, thank you! This helps!
wow, you did real good. I'm impressed. Everything happened so quick but you captured it
Your GoPro makes the camera sound every shutter sound like an air soft gun shooting lol
as you mentioned that you don't want to interfere with the ceremony brings to my mind: i've just currently been invited to a wedding as a guest and of course i was interested in the work of the wedding photographer and he killed the whole ceremony with his autofocus confirmation beep..
maybe it was just me, but it must have pissed off others as well
+Jim Alpin No offense. So please don't take it that way. Any good photographer will use manual focus to shoot a wedding. There should be no sound at all. I don't do weddings because you get one shot to get it right. If you can't shoot a photo without auto you shouldn't be photographing a wedding.

+vwchick24 i guess you mixed something up here..
+Nina Shevchenko it's pretty easy to turn off the beep. Should be in your settings somewhere :)
The Wedding place is simple. But it is so intimate because even though the place is quite small, it full of smile from their love ones
Awesome vid man! Your videos really inspire me to be better! I learn so much every time! Your channel is so helpful!!
Geez what a ridiculously small venue.
Morgan Jones reminded me of the wedding I went to that was at a gas station.
well that's interesting. Was it a vintage gas station? Lmao!
Morgan Jones yep, on a highway near my grandpa’s farm; he also owned the gas stair ion out there.
Steven Glansburg , did they put the gas in the car for you too like back in the old days?
Ive Seen worse.
this was the most difficult ceremony i shoot in my life, jajajaja those words really got me, would love to shoot in those conditions! great photos btw! you should try to shoot in Latinoamérica where almost all weddings are at night without natural light
I love that room :D you can make best photos with those hard lights :D You did a fine job.
You did a great job! When it's so tight you just have to be ready for everything! I thought you might tap the pops but you did a good job staying out of the way and still getting the shot. love the pov can thanks
Glad it all worked out and you got images you could use but that seemed like quite a challenging shoot.
Nice work man. I love the recording on top of the cam
More live videos like this on my channel! Also- these images are a bit orange. Accidentally left the full LUT adjustment later on everything. My mistake.
Omg it's so difficult to get that picture in that condition. It's amazing 😍 😍 😍
Definitely difficult but what a great opportunity to challenge one's ability and skill did a wonderful job thank you for sharing
You know you ask the couples to try and not look down as they walk to and from ...but they still do, they can't help it.

Very educational... Thanks Taylor... I wanna take up photography as well but it's too expensive for me.. just gonna stick with Mobile photography.. hopefully one day I can afford Canon SL2 or T7i haha
Oh my! No space at all... it feels claustrophobic. Even under this circumstances the pictures are real nice👏🏻
This was great man! Thanks for the upload and info
You did an awesome job mate! The pics came out amazing! Thnx for sharing this videos.
Love this live video thing. And great lenses
Commenting in 2019... Besides the lighting, the venue is probably the most beautiful I've ever seen (personally)
This is such an amazing video! thank you for sharing!!
still an amazing job you did there
I recently visited my daughter in Chicago who shoots with a Canon 6D. We compared shutter noise between her camera and my D750. Hers is so much quieter! I'm not about to switch to Canon, but the comparison did give me disappointment in my Nikon D750. I enjoyed your video of this wedding.
Mark Ferwerda the 6D quiet mode is ridiculously quiet haha
I love the shutter noise from my late 80's and 90's Nikon film SLR's
Nice airsoft video. I would be hella mad if my enemy didn't call hits.
Best comment here
Hahahhaha literally my thoughts every time I watch these videos
awesome photos, can you show the pre edits??
You did a great job, as always.
Demanding location Dude. I think a 24-70 2.8 would have been a nice choice during the ceremony since you shot at 2.5 anyway. Something like a Canon 24-70 2.8 usm ii, since it has almost prime lense optics. Thanks for the videos!

Hi Taylor. Great video. I appreciate the notes I’ve taken. What autofocus settings did you use ?
This is why i love the a9 - total silent ... u can shoot whenever you want :)
Sadly Sony wasn't there yet (maybe still aren't) in 2015
I really like your colors
The shutter sound is so satisfying
Wow that room looks like a nightmare to shoot! Not sure what the couple was thinking lol but amazing job making it work!!
Where you have the gopro attached on?
Either some one has made a cold shoe to gopro mount or just a cold shoe to 1/4" screw adaptor and then Gopro's tripod mount screwed into that. At least that's how I have done it before.
Looks like attached to the strap
Michael Fokias That's how I usually do it, but you can see the hot shoe on the camera has nothing in it... So basically i have no idea.
It's attached to his goatee.
You are great man! You absolutely bought me when you swapped a lens with 1 hand! Do you have some editing video?
Hi, im doing wedding photographer POV as well, im just started with one video. Looking forward to do more. i wonder how do u attach your gopro to your camera?
lovely videos...so informative! You make me slightly dizzy watching you using that second camera without a strap, any reason you dont have a holdfast or a spider holster?
Super tips! Thanks for sharing...! 😘
I appreciate your work. Can you tell me the white balance in this case?
There should be a general rule with weddings that have a hired photographer: no cameras allowed, including iPhones. I understand you want the memories too, but you are ruining what someone has paid for (Usually the people who are getting married)

the sound of the shutter is therapeutic
I really love your job, It's stunning!!! Thank you for sharing.. Can I ask you something? Which focus mode (like AFS...) you usually used?
It looked good to me. I did one wedding while cloudy and started to rain a bit.
Excellent work Taylor, images looks great!
+Kenzie Photography Thanks for watching! :)
PEOPLE PUT THE IPHONES DOWN! That's why you hired a photographer!
Hey, really love your video... Question, so the clients were not bothered by the lighting situation? That's always a concern I have, trying to overcoming worrying about things I can't control, especially when they pick their venue and time of the ceremony. Thanks in advnace for the feedback :0)
J LaCour i think they never notice that or think photographer will fix that.
Hey Taylor! Great images! Anyway, what is your bread and butter for weddings? I know you use 70-200 for versatility, but for the wider end what do usually fall back too
Your wedding photoshoots are very very much amazing love your work.....BTW choose me for your give away winner for the camera
I would love to second shoot with you.. your outlook on your work makes me think about my photos.. btw you make shooting a wedding look easy.. it is not!!!!!!!
You did great. Just curious.. Where are you mounting the gopro or your cam?
Great job. Thank's for sharing.
reminds me of airsoft videos lol - thanks for sharing this! super helpful
do u have instagram? ure amazing! ure one of my inspirations as a photographer! from the philippines!
Great video
But you can use flashlight to compensate right?
Where do you focus on when your shooting at 2.5 or 2.8 ??
Very good job, sir.
Thats why i use the sony a7r2 for wedding a just put in silent and can take all the pictures i want
And im guessing the clients wanted the whole “sepia” style photos? This is a difficult style of wedding to shoot
@ 1:20 why you shooting with that mutch low light indication ?
wuppsi you cleared it at 2:20 :D
Could definitely tell you were using centre focus point, might want to watch the headroom. but other than that great video :)
Thanks for the video and time you spent passing on valuable and entertaining information. Do you mind giving me an idea of the shutter speed you’re using for processional/recessional? Without a flash, I’m curious as to how you avoid motion blur and high iso noise? Thanks!
This question should be answered a bit in the other full day wedding videos! Usually I'm around 1/125 to 1/200th of a second
Do you use back button focus at all or no?
Please tell me what settings your camera is on? you move so quick yet all your pictures are sharp as hell!
I have one question. Do you use Back Button Focus?
How were the windows not extremely blown out?
Thanks for posting this Taylor! You're a big inspiration to plenty newbie photographers, including myself. I'm second shooting my first wedding here in two weeks, and I've been cramming my brain with as much info as possible.

+Taylor Jackson Oh that makes sense! Thank you! And I can't wait to see it.
Were you shooting in continous mode??
Sorry if this has been asked before, I tried to find a comment like it but I cannot. But how do you mount your go pro to your DSLR?
Brezi Merryman hot shoe
I like you all videos
I am a mirrorless shooter. I love having silent shooting as an option in these situations.
Yep! Sony a7III ftw
Can you post the lut you used for the final results?
Wowwww😥tough job
Thank you for sharing. Do you manually focus? You were shooting so fast and I was waiting for a beep! I'm needing to upgrade. I'd love to have my auto focus work that fast!
Selena Hayes he shoots auto
How do you mount your gopro?
got something against speedlites and reflectors?
How many images did you shoot here? The light defo looked awful in that room
Great video Taylor
you should go with small aperture like 6.3 or 8
Why?
I see you usually have your ISO at L 1.0, can you explain that for me?
Why am i watching this... I am not even a photograph
2 X Fuji XT3, 16-55 2.8 and 50-140 2.8...Lighting fast and silent like the steps from death :P
Can’t shoot hybrid on it sadly
Hi, I'm new to photography... would an ND filter have worked where you're shooting into sunlight? Or do you just find them not too practical?
Doesn't fix the lighting sadly. I use NDs for long exposure landscapes though
I was wondering what setting you used in your nikond750
How much do you charge?
What camera was the second body?
Iacuzzi Facundo I honestly don’t remember. Likely a D750 or maybe a D600
I thought it wouldn't be a D750 because you change lenses from one to another, maybe it was just for the POV video, I also think it might be a D600, thanks for replying!
