    When bouncing off of a white wall or white bounce reflector, how close to the wall do you put the flash for a softer look?

    • @TaylorJacksonPhoto
      @TaylorJacksonPhoto  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      The closer your subject to that source generally the softer the light will be. But for ceiling usually I have no control. For walls, I’m usually in a getting ready style space

      @@TaylorJacksonPhoto But how close are you putting the light to the bounce source or does it matter?

    • @TaylorJacksonPhoto
      @TaylorJacksonPhoto  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It’s usually a bit out of my control. Short answer is usually 15 ft

      @@TaylorJacksonPhoto I'm sorry, Taylor...I'm doing a horrible job explaining myself. If you're in a hallway and want to bounce off of the wall onto your subject, do you put the light close to the wall for the bounce or further away, or does it matter? I'm guessing the power settings make a difference too. Sorry, I'm just now trying to get into flash coming from the video side. Thanks again.

      @ I’d say a lot is experimenting quickly when you’re in the scene since light bounces in strange ways sometimes. Just be far enough away (or zoom your flash to Wide if it does that) so the beam gets some good spread on the surface you’re bouncing off of. If you’re really close the spread will be pretty small and not as soft. Hopefully this helps

    Do you have a link to that flash and transmitter?

    when you use the a9iii are you having to set the sync speed for the flash ? or does it work in ttl ....i use the fj 400 strobe and i have to change the sync speed if i go over a certain shutter in my camera ....they have videos on this to explain it better but i didnt know if there is update to just make the flash work without having to do the the flash timing setting for the flash power with the shutter ?

      Jason Vinson said he was going to do a full in depth break down of all the tricky A9III things. I'll see if he's still planning on it. I think he's solved most things by now

      I’ve had battery issues, hot shoe connection issues, hot shoes physically breaking, random brick issues, inconsistent firing issues off camera (used 2 different triggers) and I think maybe that’s it

      I do now. Or at least until ttl isn’t doing what I want, then I go manual
