  • In Loving Memory of Paris Brewer: The Song That Made Paris Cry
It is with a heavy heart that I share the news of the passing of my dear friend, Paris. Today, I want to take a moment to honor the beautiful soul that touched my life almost 20 years ago and left an everlasting impact on my musical journey.
In 2005, during a transformative hitchhiking adventure in Bloomington, Indiana, I had the privilege of meeting Paris at The Vid, a bar that became the backdrop to our enduring friendship. Paris's angelic, raspy voice captivated me, and after a few beers, we found ourselves at his place for an intimate after-hours jam session. Little did I know, this encounter would shape the course of my musical exploration.
Amidst the exchange of melodies and heartfelt tunes, I mustered the courage to share a song I had just completed. As I sang, Paris's emotional response inspired the title of the song, now known as "The Song That Made Paris Cry." This piece holds a special place in my heart, symbolizing the profound connection we shared through music.
Paris introduced me to a world of incredible artists like Jason Payton, Travis Puntarelli, and the enchanting music of Madeline Adams. Our musical collaborations extended over the years, with Paris contributing to the creation of "Mellow Miner," the very first Haunted Windchimes song. His impact on my musical story is immeasurable.
"The Song That Made Paris Cry" has transcended time and space, resonating with audiences and people across the country. It serves as a poignant reminder of Paris's influence, bringing me back to my roots and the essence of who I am. Today, I dedicate this performance to Paris, a cherished friend whose spirit will forever live on through the melodies we shared.
Paris, I love you. May your spirit find eternal peace. Thank you for the musical journey, the shared moments, and the everlasting memories. Your legacy lives on in the notes of our songs and the hearts you've touched.

Paris is one of my uncles. I’m so grateful he was blessed with such a strong community. It breaks my heart that he is gone. Our family just cannot catch a break. Thank you so much for sharing this beautiful moment with the world. He’s with my granny and brother now, safe and pain free 🤍

I first heard this when Paris played it himself for me. Are there any recordings of him singing it?
