I'm one week and one day alcohol and smoke-free after 37 years of addiction, went to AA for the first time the day before yesterday, and I feel the most incredible FREEDOM right now, having finally removed THAT which was not me from my life. It's just the beginning, it feels very easy right now but will be challenging later I have no doubt, but what he says about discovering who I truly am thru the process of elimination sounds like a universal truth that I am incredibly grateful to have heard at this critical point in my life. I am excited to remove more Not Me from my life and see who I truly am under it all!! Thank you to MC and to the person who posted it and to the loving energy who made sure I saw this message.

you're worth more as a person than little Mattie. What the heck nerve he has to give motivation advice. What does he know about it?
Here's a motivational story for you: I have a friend who was born to a street-living meth addict. When she found out she was pregnant, she tried to get her boyfriend to get clean with her and help her raise the kid well. He refused.
She gathered her wits, and went it alone. Got clean, got housing assistance, got a job, Dressed and fed the kid, all the way through school. He went to college (one of those that got shut down for ripping people off, in his junior year). That didn't stop him. He just went and got a job; and works in software now. She died 3 years ago and the world is a poorer place for it.
Imagine her life story, and his. She is inspirational. MM does make-believe for cameras, and his businesses make even more money while he acts, or lounges around on beaches, Aspen, Jackson Hole . . . . He's fine, he's a good actor, but life advice????? No way.
If I knew you, I would almost certainly admire you fare more than I admire anyone who does make-believe for cameras.
Mattie and the kardashians - not much daylight between them, other than he can act

Absolutely great speech! I had a 1SG that took me aside one day, when I was a young Infantry soldier. He saw that I was struggling with something (I don't recall what). And he told me something very similar. He said "look you can keep wondering. You can keep questioning yourself. Or you can stop self sabotaging yourself and just do it! Because anything worth a damn, is not easy"! I retired with 21 years in the Army. All in the infantry. Thank you 1SG. You helped me be a better man.

Instead of thinking about becoming a millionaire we should be teaching people fiscal responsibility. Live below your means, invest for retirement, have 3-6 month emergency fund, save for your children’s college, pay off your mortgage (unless interest if less than 4%). Only when you have met these requirements then take risks in the stock market.

While building savings, investing for retirement, and maintaining an emergency fund are essential, the stock market, when approached with caution and risk management, can help build wealth. His wisdom on owning mistakes, focusing on personal definitions of success, and cutting out what doesn’t serve us is the kind of guidance that grounds us in authenticity.

I remember my daughter's Waldorf teacher sharing this insight at a parent/teacher evening. She said that adolescents will start to "Try on" various behaviours and identities and that their maturation develops further as they begin to eliminate what didn't feel right or didn't feel good. It's like they're testing the world and themselves simultaneously, gradually discovering who they are at their core and who they are expanding into, thanks to the clarity that came from navigating what's ready to be dropped away. This is true for adults too of course! It really simplifies soaring towards our full potential sooner than later!

@@JohnPublic-ox7mh call me cynical of the celebrities, but I did wonder how authentic this is... did he write it? Do any celebrity keynote speakers write their own speeches? Sure people want to believe, but those people also don't question it, enthralled by the idea that a celebrity of their liking says a few words they need or want to hear without thinking of the source.
I do think however better advice could be received from Mary Schmich's column from 1996 in the Chicago Tribune. She is a writer, and I think it does come off as more authentic from her own printed word, afterward falsely contributed to Kurt Vonnegut. Baz Luhrmann turned it into a spoken word song.

Set aside all of the noise of your thoughts. You may not have found your best self, but you have worked with what you had, what you still have now. Totally agree with the point. The first step is identification. Be true to yourself and answer the question: Who are you? Are you a person who follows amusements, or a person who follows achievements? After that comes step number 2. If you are the person who prefers easy pleasures, just lead a normal life; you don't need to think about improving or other stuff that will make you totally unhappy. But if you are the person who feels bad without achievements, it will be a long and hard journey, but you don't have any other ways. Just choose the niche and forget about everything around for years. And if you put all of yourself into that, probably you will get your personal happiness.😅

@@av1421 in december 2023 i was walking to Mar-A-Lago to give Trump two phones and an envelope with my story in it. Alyssa Milano began screaming "do you know how long I have been spitting at him and your going to deliver evidence in a major investigation and your story?" you see alyssa milano has caused most of my pain and suffering she thinks she can dictate who I share with and where I share my story. When I arrived at Mar-A-Lago the security officers were acting strange and made statements I have heard from Park Police in San Antonio they refused to take the items for Trump. Thank God for many cameras around Mar-A-Lago.

This is a very good speech, I am just wondering why every good speech needs to be screwed up by a motivational video containing 90% of people working out. Life is not just about that guys. Take what McConaughy says to the heart. Forget about the video. Just listen to it (with the nice music) and go from there. I have seen too many kids watching this kind of videos and spending all of their time in fitness thinking they will make it and achieve any goal they can think of.... just by spending hours and hours in the fitness centre... crazy

This happened to come into my life at just the right time to give me the courage I need to dig deeper and become something more than I was before. I hope this helps others to find the strength within themselves when they need it most.

Never regret anything, learn, but don't regret. We always imagine any change in our lives to be positive, it's kinda how our brains work, but that isn't reality. I always tell myself in such cases: "Had I done anything different in my life, I would've been run over by a bus five minutes later."
People like to imagine winning the lottery and becoming rich, thinking of all fun they could have, buying a yacht or whatever. They never imagine this yacht getting into a storm and sinking, and they themselves drowning. Or buying a sportscar and then crashing it on the way home and dying a painful death in the wreckage. Even though these outcomes are also possible, but we just don't realize that.
Any change to your life might have been positive, yeah, but it also might've ended up being negative, no matter what it is. The butterfly effect is unpredictable.

I have always said - where you are is not as important as how far you have come. I have more respect for someone who came out of poverty and now holds down a steady job with a steady income than I have for Mr. Hot-shot-rich-businessman who took over daddy’s company. But, hey…that’s my philosophy.
