I agree, iv got a 208 gt line 1.2 3 cylinder turbo, stage one remap and ram air induction kit, 160 bhp 220 ibft, 0-60 in 7 seconds and 135 flat out, but £25 per month insurance, no tax, £46 to fill the tank with momentum, and 55 mpg. Excellent.
Great video.I test drove the ST-Line X before the Fiesta ST and the difference was massive! The ST line is a nippy, comfortable and well specced car but once you’ve driven the ST, particularly if you like driving you’ll be blown away. I’ve owned several different hot hatches including more recently a Mini JCW and I now have a 2019 ST-2 with the Performance pack. It is the best handling hot hatch I’ve ever driven and the 1.5 3 pot engine is a little monster !
Your the only review that talked about age insurance and other factors that come into owning a car I’m looking forward to getting my own some time soon great video brother 👍
Hello mate I’m looking at doing the same thing if you still have it how do/did you find it ? I’m 6,5 so normally I would want a bit of a bigger car like the Audi a3. But the fact that it’s no money done is a massive appeal to me.
the raunchy sound is due to the 3 cylinders, listen to a Triumph motorcycle .. it's the mix of 2 cylinder roughness and 4 cylinder smoothness .. hence the raunchy rumble
It's not only hp power. You have torque, lsd, suspension, sound, tunability and 500cc difference. St line a good "normal" car. St a great little performance car.
Certainly seems that way! 2 weeks into owning my MK7 Fiesta ST from new (Back in 2014) the same thing happened. Was told it was supposed to happen as the headlight needs to 'breathe'.
Had my ST line 140ps for nearly 3 years now so pcp change. love it but very tempted to go with ST next. i do 500 miles a week so just worried about a bumpy ride
You’ll 100% notice a difference in fuel economy - that would be my only comment. I can’t compare suspension though, but I would think they are very similar in ride
@@ChristopherGower really? My ST is quite bumpy, wouldn’t recommend it for long journeys - anything over 1.5 hours of driving gets a bit tiring. Although the ride improves after 140-150km/h, there are not too many places where you can drive that fast. I’d expect the ST-Line to be better.
Went to buy a mk8 Fiesta a couple of years back, walked into the showroom and looked around a nice blue St-line but it was parked next to a beautiful ruby red Mondeo St-line X I ended up with the Mondeo even though I didn't need a car that size it just looked so much nicer and more aggressive then the Fiesta which I loved.
Now that's a throwback. Two of my friends had them as second cars. Properly quick for what they were! Have been tempted a few times when i've seen a clean one come up for grabs. Getting rare now.
Iv changed back from a mk8 performance edition st to an st line mk7 100ps , roads are to busy for the performance and I was fed up with paying the monthly premiums on pcp cars I will never own .
@@ChristopherGower yer it is , also watching you car slowly and steadily getting ruined by stone chips and dick heads who put parking dents in the side of your car . Really is a waste of money I’m afraid.
I have had a MK8 fiesta st line with the 1 litre 3 cylinder 99 bhp for 10 weeks now. B&O sound is about the only good thing about. It’s a thirsty engine, just about does the same mpg as my old MK5 golf gti, but very poor for an economical car. Runs badly on E10, starts on 1 cylinder every 2 days before starting fully so need to use E5. Already looking for another car.
We all know the ST is the 'better car' from a drivers perspective, but some people cannot afford one. This video is for the purpose of creating a discussion around this topic and whether the ST-Line is a worthwhile compromise. Glad you enjoy your ST. I loved mine.
He didn't say the ST-line is better, just that it's pretty close in a few ways. I'm considering the 1 litre mhev 155bhp version. And that's coming from a 270bhp mercedes c class v6.
ST is far better than all the base line Fiestas? Errrr, it's the same car, same chassis bar a a few chavy bits added on like bigger wheels, sport bumpers etc.
Mate you should more of these videos on car comparisons.. the way you explain things is really good
I’ve just bought one of these and I love it so far
The true all-rounder is the 1.0 ecoboost but remapped to 160 bhp... All the pros of a "cheaper to maintain" car and a "quite-STish" power delivery
Excellent.
That’s until the wetbelt in the 1.0 goes to shreds, the ST’s have a chain and it’s just so much better

What jcw did you have?
I agree, the ST-Line is still nippy but the ST is so much more fun
My missus has an St line it's a lovely car for the money. I have an ST3. It's like comparing hartlepool and man City
That 0-60 was pretty quick really.good review lad.

We got one of these with my disability allowance back in April, my dad drove it until I passed my test at the beginning of august and I love this car

@@josephcampbell6331 still got it but need to give it back to Ford at the end of April since my lease is ending. I’m getting a cx30 next
Was watching a few of your videos tonight and I expected you to have 100x the subscribers. Keep it up dude
Thanks Sean, really appreciate it!

01:26 ah yes the classic Ford condensation inside the headlights... I loved my Mondeo, but this issue seems to be persistent across the Ford range
Certainly seems that way!

Great video my last car was a St line x mk8 5 door and now I have the St 2 different cars really love both in different ways

Thanks for that, really informative as I've just purchased the same model.
looking at going for one of these in october :)
I miss my old mk5 Zetec-S 1.6
Mine had 122bhp standard.
Best car I ever owned.

ST power is to expensive for me.
ST line, the line under the most powerfull fiesta would be great to for a daily day use, right?
I test drove ST-Line and ST and bought the ST as it does drive better and i have loads fun every time i drive it.

I totally get it. Cars are mega expensive these days and paying monthly can become draining both mentally and on the wallet!

Great video that. Cheers mate
Good vid dude.
Slow joining the dual carriageway? I don’t think so. You can only go as fast as the car in front anyway.
What is the audiosystem like!?
Basically buy the ST line and then remap the hell out of it. Then the fun really begins.
Very good review.fair play
Do you know if I would be able to put 2017-2018 Ford Fiesta ST-Line front and rear bumpers on a standard eco boost model?
If the ST have tenco dampers and force vectoring springs what does the ST line have. ?
That was a great video man, I appreciate it. Cheers!
I want a mk8 st line but don’t know if I’m maybe better getting a st line x. Does a st line have heated seats?
You should get the winter package from ford. My st line has heated seats and a heated steering wheel. It’s super comfy in cold months 🙂
I’ve gone for the X Edition version. You get even more stuff including electric rear windows and a B&O sound system too

Got the st-line cause i wanted ACC dont regret it on the Autobahn. XP
Is it a manual or does it have the automatic transmission?
Short answer : No
Long answer: Nooooooooooooooo
ST-Line better then the ST?? 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂
Never!!!!!!
I tested both and now I own an ST!!
Statement finished!!
✌️

St line vs real ST?😅🤣
Mm problem is.. just don't buy one over 3 years old they tend to chew the timing belt up, block the oil pump then you'll need a new engine 😂 😂😂
wrong the mk6 st is the best looking st ever made
Should gone to specs savers.
Feels like your driving a boat
Avoid thses cars
why?
