Had a 2018 125 ST Line in Deep Impact Blue but just swapped for a 2020 ST Line X with the 155 mild hybrid. Absolutely incredible car, and a worthy upgrade with the extra goodies you get. B&O System is wicked and performance from the extra 30 bhp makes me smile 😃
Picking my ST-LINE X 140bhp 20 plate in black up this Friday 11th, driven fords most of my life, a lot of reviews bang on about being a young mans car, well at 62 just put that one to bed, thanks for taking time out to do the review, all information useful.
I just have ordered mine 2020 Fiesta St line 125hp. But I have it with all the extras that the ST Line X has (cruise control, lane assistance, illuminated cup holders, tinted windows etc) and all is standart for 17k euros. Pretty good deal I'd say!
Just bought an St-line x 140 I've owned a ztec back in 2009 an St 2014. Recently rented an St line 125 and loved it. The new St line x is by far my favourite to drive of the fiestas for the same reasons you've mentioned. I like that it's not quite as growly as the St and the interior is superb - minus the plastic but that can be changed. I'm looking forward to making some slight modifications to this car ✌️
I had one 1.0 100 manual gearbox (3 door and panoramic roof) during 5 years (185.000 km)... only pleisure with it (dynamic, sexy and efficient consumption (never up 6l/ 100. Now I have one ST same version. Very impressive and good car. But really, you can have really fun with 1.0 and 100 hp because the chassis , the stearing are just amazing and the engine puchy..
This car overall is great my my biggest problem with it is the headlights. Dipped beam is like driving by candle light. No matter what bulbs you put it, it makes no difference.
Nice review, i test drove a focus ST-Line X and it was also brilliant, very well equipped and looked good as well. Kind of getting best of both worlds.
I have a 21-Plate Fiesta ST-Line X Edition 155 Mhev. Quite simply the BEST car I have ever owned! I had a 20-Plate Ibiza FR Sport before. I LOVED the Ibiza...but...it didn't like cornering (the Fiesta sticks to the road like a limpet) and the Sport Mode was wheezy. The Fiesta does both like a champ! I'm just so upset it's now stopped production. The Fiesta frame and engine is the Puma platform. Love the Puma body styling so I know exactly what my next car will be :) A Puma ST Vignale please!
Well having driven a Fiesta Titanium X I moved to a Fiesta Active Titanium as it is geared to the older driver with higher set levelling but to be honest and if money was no exception I'd probably try out the ST-Line as long as it came with an automatic gearbox.
Nice review, my only gripe with the Fiesta is the interior & boot space, VW Polo and Seat Ibiza can easily sit adult behind adult with no issues, very cramped in the Ford. The only thing which lets the VW group cars down is that they don't have the 150 bhp engine...Yet.... albeit it is going in the t-cross
Bought an ST-line, will be collecting it soon. ST-line with a couple of extra options in my country is still about 10000 euros cheaper than the basic ST-line (23000 vs 33000), not 900. Definitely would have gone for the ST if the difference was only about 900.
Have an ST line, looks better than the ordinary Fiesta, but I hate the firmer suspension, makes it ride a lot worse for general use. Sure it may be more agile in ways I very rarely use, but I see comfort of the ordinary model a better buy for most people. It depends if you just want to drive for comfort and enjoyment Vs driving to try to take the tightest lines on meandering roads. Personally I don't see the point of the latter as if you want to do then take up track racing.
Do you think these small turbo charged 3 cylinder engines will be reliable after the warranty has expired ? I don't hold much faith in them at all. Many of them the fans are running full pelt to cool the engine down even sitting at traffic lights for 2 or 3 mins.
Ford released the 1.0 ecoboost in 2009, and sold millions of cars with that engine. they have a reliable history, much more so than VW T(f)SI engines for example. only gripe is the timing belt that runs in oil and desintegrates if wrong oil is used or not changed regulary. so if you buy a used car, it is crucial to buy one with a full service history (or a big discount and change the belt, waterpump etc. at once) to avoid troubles. btw the running fan you descripe is most probably due to a/c usage.
I've had a Fiesta ST-Line for just over a year and I'm very pleased with it. My only gripe is the silly name. They should have called it "S" or "Sport", as they used to do with the slightly sportier versions of previous versions, rather than confusing it with the ST.
every other manufacturer has a 'line' version, why should ford change their name scheme?

@@steffan5304 Well, I have no knowledge about cars and I am searching for my very first car. To people without much knowledge, I can really say the naming schemes of almost all car manufacturers are absolutely terrible. It is so untransparent what the differences even are. If one is into tech, it is comparable with the catastrophic naming scheme of the new Intel CPUs.
Can’t wait to get my st line x...hopefully will be delivered in March although it was originally supposed to be delivered in February so crossing fingers they stick to the March date
I am also already suscribed. I expect that the Fiesta st-line with the 1.0 EcoBoost 155 hp mhev engine of the Puma is going to be a very interesting car.
Café räser all of your comments are not very clever. If you have access to TH-cam then do your research on internet. Go on Ford website of country you are from and do the bloody homework. 1.0 155 hp Fiesta might come in future regarding the fact Puma has got one 🤦🏼
I did like the ST Line a lot, during a day loan. In the end though, I just had to have the ST Performance Pack. Over the ST Line you get the seats, the noise, and the shove. Whats not to love about that?
I don’t quite understand the point of this car. Obviously they sell so there is a segment in the market but at 17 grand you may as well pay for a base ST? If you want to save a few quid on road tax and petrol, just get a base ecoboost fiesta. Upgrade the springs yourself if you want a sporty ride. Clever marketing from Ford but I won’t be falling for it with a fiesta in a posh frock unless it has the minerals to support it.
Reviewed one of the myself on my channel. Race Red ST Line as well. The 140HP variant is definitely the best of the bunch but its price range makes it very close to the ST, assuming no discounts offered. Just go with the ST. Anyone interested can watch mine on my channel if they so wish.

Is it smart to buy a new car? I am 22 years old, want to buy my first car. I don't know if new or used, I am not quite sure how much to spend. In the past, I loved to spend my money in future proof objects (mostly new or quality even when it is more expensive). This is why I tend to go for a new car but I really don't know if it is smart. I earn about 60K per year and am a good money safer. I don't really know much about cars. I want a car that is useful but also a bit fun to drive. Does anybody have some useful tips how I should approach this? I have some car loving friends, also with experience but they all tend to go with the opinion "If it hasn't 250PS and isn't lowered, it isn't a serious car". I need neutral opinions.
My advice is to save some money and get a solid second hand hot hatch at around 3-4 years old, own it outright, don't bother with finance especially when young. On finance, whatat you will pay upfront in a deposit, then monthly with then a big payment at the end of the 3 or 4 years of finance, which for an ST Line 2020 will be around £7k at the end of those 3 years at around £200 a month before that and maybe a £3500 deposit initially, it's probably not the best choice for you. A friend of mine took a new Fiesta on finance 4 years ago, he just sold it for £5500 at 4 years old, but he paid over £18k over those 4 years, so it's important to understand depreciation. There is a sweet spot for cars 3 or 4 years old for the buyer who can benefit from the depreciation but still have a reliable relatively young car that won't be running into expensive repair costs that an older car will. I would visit some dealerships, not backstreet garages or private sellers, look for a car that is around 3 or 4 years old and buy it outright. You might need to save a little bit first, but it will benefit you overall to do that way. I have the 2020 ST line though, but finance at 0% interest was convenient even though I could buy it outright, in the past I wouldn't have gone for a new cars, especially in my 20's. Personally I am not that keen on the ST line this year and preferred my old car. It's not a bad all rounder at all, I just haven't enjoyed the suspension and wished I had taken out a bigger car with a better ride, but I probably will do in 3 years.
