Probably the most versatile guitar PRS makes. I think David Grissom's ear for tone and ability to translate what he wants in the configuration of the physics of the guitar, is what has made it such a powerful instrument.
Congratulations on getting the semi-hollow, beautiful instrument! My main guitar has been a 2020 DGT , so versatile. I've used it regularly in church and playing blues/country rock gigs. I think the neck is my favorite part of the guitar followed closely by the pickups. Just a great guitar! Sorry, had to brag on mine a minute, lol. Look forward to hearing this guitar in more videos!
I am one of the fortunate ones who have many guitars 2 of which are PRS guitars one is an Australian eagle one of 12 built but one of three in the blue colour , the other is a core 594 in Lemmon fade , both are great instruments but I predominantly play my custom shop Telecasters as i like those types of tones better . Great video enjoy those 2 DGT’s they sound awesome through my headphones .
There are 200. More limited than you thought - very cool! I have a Robben Ford McCarty same sort of limited run. Very happy to have it !! The signatures are a nice touch IMO!
I have a blood orange non 10 quilt top DGT from 2014/15 and it’s fantastic in a church mix with 2 keys and others. So grateful that I landed on it. I’m a fan of DGT so ..
I absolutely love my DGT SE!! I got it after I watched your video about them and running it through my Quad Cortex with your signature preset, and Bradford’s is just absolutely awesome!! I hope to have a core model someday
DGT SE owner with access to a core DGT. I hope I hear this limited semi-hollow at some point, or we will see an SE version since the regular one is selling so well.
@@wttoneSo hard to let go of guitars sometimes. Definitely need to sell at least 3 to get a core dgt lol, and we’re talking sell 3 American fender’s minimum . PRs is next level. Some day 😂
I have a beautiful DGT and want to love it but the pickups are so dark sounding and the volume of the individual strings is so unbalanced that I've been toying with the idea of swapping out the pickups.. The G and B strings are so much louder than the rest, and the D string is so much quieter that I've had to adjust the pole pieces significantly to get them close to being balanced on both pickups. I've tried different strings to no avail.. Curious if you or others have encountered this, and also if you've had to dial in more brightness in your amp sounds to account for the dark pickups. I'm now using an EQ pedal on the DGT to balance it out better with my strat and tele guitars..
I wouldn't call the DGT pickups bright - I have other guitars with much brighter HB's. But I find that once I brighten the amp (or amp model) up a bit, they really come to life. Haven't experienced the unbalanced string issue. Sorry to hear you don't love them. You could always try a pickup swap. It's easy to go back, and if you love another set up pickups a lot more, you can sell the DGT pickups for a good bit used. Or just keep them around if you want to go back one day. There are a TON of really great PAF type pickups on the market.
I took a Wood Library DGT with maple neck and Special with rosewood neck to compare with the DGT semi hollow. I was interested to hear the semi hollow DGT, but it was really an exercise to demonstrate how good the original DGT & Special Guitars were… but oops, I was blown away by the semi hollow DGT. It felt better, it was over a lb lighter than my WL DGT and the tones were hands down no competition better. The tone is definitely not as thick, more texture, more alive, more nuanced, more articulate etc. just more god damn it 🤣 Now I know by now each guitar should be taken in its own merits and I had previously preferred my WL DGT to other serial numbers I had tried over the years. So to have the semi hollow blow me away like this, I wasn’t going to walk away without it. I don’t have the WL DGT or Special any more. The semi hollow DGT has replaced them both for me. In this video I can hear your semi hollow also coming across as more lively and more open in general than the core model. Sometimes a certain configuration or construction of a model suits better than another. I think there’s some magic in the semi hollow version. Enjoy 🙂
Next video: This guitar is so good I bought it 4 times
Haha I’d need therapy if that happens

I own a antique white DGT. It is all you say. Superb guitar

It’s been on my want list for years.
4:05. The one move I always do my best to avoid when playing at church...lol
😂 my best (completely unintentional) Johnny Cash impersonation

Oops I misspoke haha. Thanks! Those Robben Ford guitars looks pretty amazing.

Blood Orange is a great color on PRS guitars.
Wow man it’s so funny I literally saw that 1st DGT listed on reverb the other day. It had a good price too. Looks great.

Awesome - glad to hear you're enjoying it! (and the QC presets)
One of these days I’ll get a core DGT but I’m happy with my SE for now. It’s an incredible guitar!
They are very good for sure. We were super impressed with it when we demo'd it a while back.

Yeah it would be interesting to see if they'd release an SE version (or core version as a standard offering).
Beautiful ! ! !

Ha - well I didn't buy three different ones and keep them all - buy, sell, buy, sell, buy.

Hey Brian what amps did you use in this? Sounds killer👌🏼🔥🤘🏼
Never mind I see haha
Thanks! I have a plan to make these presets I’m using available. It’s something I’ve been experimenting with for a while now.
@@wttone they sound huge. So much headroom
wow!!!! awesome
another way of saying , I am rich baby!
Or at least I was before this purchase lol😂
Ha - well people who have a lot of stuff either have a lot of money, or a lot of debt... But I didn't buy all 3 and keep them 😅
TWO HUNDRED of the Semihollows made, not 2000.
Haha oops! I knew that 😅
If you have 3 , then give one to me !😊 from India 🇮🇳 sharing is good .
Ha I only have one. Bought, sold, bought (again), bought, sold (again)
@ next time don’t sell , give it to me ☺️
The real question is: where do you find all the money for those things? Thousands of dollars in gear and no one knows how you do that. 🤷
No one knows?
