I wonder if matching headstocks would look cool?
The NF was designed long ago before the silver sky as a core model. It was discontinued due to poor sales.
This was a USA Core model 20 years ago but they canned it, along with the DC3 and the original CE24 -- all maple neck bolt-ons.
That upper horn carve on the blue one reminds me of an EBMM Silhouette.
I like the white one with the maple fretboard.
Sounds like a very nice guitar to me, cool guys
Incredible. What will that genius think of next? I can't wait for PRS to come out with that game changing tonewood that Paul keeps talking about!
It's well known that the material of the guitar is incredibly important for the tone. Yet there is no company that uses this to really EQ their guitars using high tech materials! I'm sure PRS are gonna reveal it all any day now!
I like it, a lot- but not for my primary instrument. I would love to have one for playing classic rock and blues. Imo it really rivals the Player Strat- that seems to be what it's supposed to compete with- they're about the same price, same vibe, etc. - and if I were choosing between them, I'd go with the PRS I think. I think it's better than a Squire Classic Vibe or Fender Player, but not quite as good as the Fender American Performer- which is about where they wanted it to sit, I think.
It would be good if they demonstrated how it would sound if they lowered the bass and middle on the amplifier.
The pickups in these guitars sound better than the NF pickups in the PRS Tele style guitars.
They already made a USA version of that one, but no one bought it, maybe they are trying again with the SE to see if it's worth re-launching the USA made one
I think so too
Maybe it will be a 'game changer' this time.
Sweet smooth sounds - on my shortlist!
Do these have those better sounding tuner buttons? I’ll get my coat.
Really opens up the vowel sound
They have acoustically improved poplar toan wood which stores the toan from the balls for slow release
What I like about PRS is looking at them. They look great. I've never liked playing them.
I wonder why they changed the Narrowfield pickups to use those odd looking bars rather than the original stepped fixed pole pieces?
It feels like a bit of a novelty tbh. I know some people get annoyed by single coil hum but realistically how big of a problem is it? And I definitely prefer the Silver Sky single coil sounds personally - back to back there’s a decent difference between them.
I’m sure it’s a very good guitar (I have a couple of PRSs myself) but where they knocked it out of the park with the Silver Sky this feels solid but unspectacular.
