Thank you so much for your very insightful video. I prefer the slightly more open TCI pickups. Thankfully I have them in my 2924 Custom 24. In. 2025 they put DMo pickups in them which seemed to get more of the DM sound. I prefer the 85/15 TCI pickups

Huge difference. Sampson has way more mids. New way more treble. Could be the speaker though, broken in verses brand new.

I have a fake (copy) 00028, that I love, but i find the strings are a little tight together for accirate finger picking. Is that a feature on the real 00028?

I love, love, love my DGT. All I want is to own a few more. This is going to sound super strange, but that semihollow to me sounds like it has a bit more of a Lester flavour. Getting rid of some of the lows emphasizes the mid-range and low mid bark the same way that a LP does. I didn't have time to watch the whole video (just saw it at the beginning of the work day), but does the weight make a difference for you? Does it affect sustain or anything like that?

The Doyal have a little brighter tone than the Goto but similar tone in general. The Doyal have a little more clarity and top end sparkle, but this wasn't as big of a jump as one might expect. That is a testament to the Goto. These are both great pickups. I like a warmer tone but like to keep the bell like chime or sparkle when I need it... I would have to hear if these can do a good woman tone to know if I like them.

I also have a 4x10 Blue Angel, it's a lovely amp indeed. What I love: use 6V6 setting, fat, single coil Strat and "swap the top" - Treble down at 10:30-11 Mid up at 1-2 o'clock. Bass and reverb to taste Volume at edge of breakup Straight into the amp, no boost or OD pedals Ride the guitar volume and pick attach to get some of the best blues tone you will ever hear. I think I tamed mine slightly by swapping out the harsh mesa 12ax7 V1 pre-amp tube to 5751 or 12AT7s, can't remember exactly Enjoy

Just got one guys and this thing is AWESOME. I’ve had the Helix and am currently running an FM9. Don’t get me wrong, the FM9 is world class but this thing does the Dumble tone and feel better imo

What happened with the overdriven tones on the ace fx? It sounds muddy and compressed

my only complaint about worship tone demos... i can never hear the tone when it's drowned out in washy reverb...

I used this patch in my FM9 paired with my Music Man Majesty this past Sunday at church. I gots lots of compliments about how great it sounded!

I like how the distorted tone decays and doesn’t interfere with the subsequent notes played. That’s a great overdrive.

Sounds really good and I notice it has that legendary hiss/hum that it was known for. I'm on the fence with one in the cart so this review is very helpful.

Stay away from Line 6 NO CUSTOMER SERVICE.They are ghosts.

I really don't like the sound of the overdrive on this amp. The clean is incredible though

I remember reading about this amp when it first came out in the 1990's. I said to myself "6v6 and el34's? that thing has got to sound amazing. All these years later and I have finally heard one. I was right. This amp sounds BEYOND!!! (IMO) MB's finest guitar amp!

A sounds amazing from here on all clips, but all close enough. B sounds a bit lifeless on some samples, but fine in others. For me A, D, C, B. Great stuff guys. Well done. 🎸

I'm a Helix owner, have never heard the others. For me it was very close between A and D. If forced to choose, I guess I'd pick A because of that awesome gain sound with the LP. C was too brittle to me and B was too boxy and mid focused.

Agree with one point you guys made-- for the most part, the comparisons are meaningless because the differences between these elite units can't really manifest within "better vs worse" framing. And even when there are differences that might be noticeable and make you dislike the sound of an amp on any one, you can usually just make a simple tweak to something like an impedance curve , or an IR or a high/ low cut.

A really great video, Brian. I found your video because I was wondering if I could use my Disaster Area Smartclock w/ the G3...Yay! I was glad to hear how you use and program your G3. Many helpful tips for me as I build my new setup with a G3 for a worship setting. You've really point me in the right direction! Thanks!
