@kylemoo with all due respect, it's not the playback speed issue. It's the voice narration matching the actions. I was giving a tip to make his videos better, not to say it's bad, because it isn't. Hey Classy, I just wanted to say that AI picture pro shows a substantial difference when using internal apps, especially in SDR, on my C2 at least. The changes it makes to the image is immediately obvious. Like night and day. I have no issue seeing what it’s doing. So idk why you “Never see a difference, or it doing much”. I truly have no idea why this is lol, but I’m guessing bc you probably haven’t spent a ton of time testing content via internal apps? Just swinging at air here. Anyways, I still see a difference with HDMI sources, but it doesn’t employ nearly as much localized gamma manipulation and processing. (I actually prefer this) LG is deploying localized gamma manipulation to try and make the image more dynamic, add depth, detail, and sharpness. It also seems to deploy slight noise reduction, dithering to improve gradation…despite if you having the smooth gradation disabled…and obviously they’re using their AI upscaling algorithm, too. Using AI PP will actually darken shadow details and some midtones, where it see’s fit, and boost luminance up top. It’s almost like local dimming on a OLED 😅 I personally can’t stand it majority of the time tho, especially in SDR, as the image is way over-processed to my eyes, despite the amazing depth it can produce at times. It’s just not for me tho, as a purist type of guy. The HDR effect it has is much less obvious, but it still does the same thing, it just doesn’t darken the midtones and low stimulus nearly as much as it does in SDR, which makes sense to me. I can always make a video showing these changes the AI PP makes on my C2, to show you what I’m talking about, in case you’ve never experienced this behavior….maybe there’s just a bug in the newer models tho, as this year has seemingly been littered with FW issues, unfortunately. LG really is letting ppl down this year with these issues, and lack of polish. It’s almost like they should’ve delayed the launch, but chose to rush it. Lastly, AI PP does actually work on copyrighted content, as long as it knows you have access to watch said service/content legally, like onNetflix, D+, etc. idk if you said this or not, bc I just caught the end of what you were saying about the feature and the confusion. I really wish LG would clarify this in the menu a bit better, but it is what it is.

Hey, Classy. Can you give a quick explanation on the 22 point White Balance Signal Level adjustment from 100% to 2.5%? Or point me to one of your videos if you’ve explained it already? I'm not an expert but read something about it on the internet and if I got this right it's like that: This option allows you to adjust brigthness and colors tints(?) at 22 levels of brightness. So the change from 100% to 2,5% is not any changed setting. For every signal level you can make changes in brightness and red green blue. The guy in video only changed brightness to +5 at 2,5% signal level and left settings at other 21 signal levels unchanged. The purpose was probably to make the darkest elements a little bit brighter to see more details in dark areas. I hope what I wrote is understandable :D

Thanks Classy for the video guide. Do you know if lg is aware of the color desaturation when switching to game mode? Or is it something you noticed?A little annoyed they are sacrificing picture for latency.
Hey Classy, sorry to be a pain but have you done pucture settings for the G4? In my humble opinion you are the man regarding LG oled settings. I followed your video above and you had my G3 singing. Im a subscriber btw. Only reply if you have time. Thank you ❤️
Thank you for this video, definitely helpful and has improved my experience! Question, first couple of day when I had the C3, plex streaming 4K dolby vision movies was quite bad (long load time and constant pause and play) and a lot of time out right unplayable. This has somehow made a 180 degree turn last night where almost everything I threw at it played butter smooth, including back and forward skipping. Anyone knows why? the C3 is now a better plex client than ATV 4K and PS5 for me.
Hey, I have 3 questions for you :) Are these settings sufficient so there is no need for real calibration? I also want to know is the settigns take care of the durability of the TV, and are not too much "pushed"? They are Cinema oriented or can be good (or very good) for sports? Thanks
Classy!, Just picked up a G4, would you say these settings are also a good starting point for this newer model from LG? Also, I noticed you suggested turning down the picture contrast to 85 for the SDR settings but not the HDR settings. Just wondering why the difference?
Hello ClassyTech, thanks very much for the great video. Just got an B3 yesterday, however I found that when I was playing with my PS5, the TV ocassionally blacks out for a few seconds with the HDR logo on the top right hand corner (kinda like the TV is trying to switch some sort of setting). Any suggestion to deal with the problem? Thanks in advance🙇🏻♂️
Hi, I know it’s been a long time since the post of this video, but I want to know if the setting you tweak in white balance is the exact same for the C3 ? Thank you !
I’m considering the LG C3. I noticed your setting for the Switch you say that it is bright enough. I’ve seen some people claim just turning game mode on make the C3 too dim. Which has me concerned for Switch gaming. I’m curious if you have any thoughts or experience with this?
Yeah you go fast, but i can follow you. I used your tips en settings and now fully enjoying my 65 inch G3. I loved it already out of the box. But know it's absolutely fantastic. I didnt get the SDR content to work for me, but its perfect now. Thanks for your video! Just got me the G3 last weekend in discount now the G4 is there. Lovely tv!
Hi there Classey. I have 65 inch G2 for 1650 euro, Samsung s95c for 3000 with deal, Sony a95k for 2700 and Samsung s95b for 1500. I thought of going to LG G2 but I don’t know whether Samsung would be preferred choice for the price. I watch movies and not competitive games. Just concerned about Samsung s95b. Is it worth it for long term or need to go to Sony a95k or new Samsung s95c has good heat sink and can get a bit accurate then s95b
Wanted to thank you for this video, while I don't have the TV I plan on getting one. I have seen this video at least a dozen times and had to write everything out for my own sanity. I do have a question though, I saw that you had the Spears & Munsil disk, (not in this video) would that also help me achieve a decent calibration, without actually calling a pro to do it? Thanks so much.
I too find the disconnect between what Classy is saying at any given moment, and what is on the screen to be a little frustrating and hard to follow, since often what is being said has already been shown and the screen has moved on to the next step. I tried the slow-down thing, but the disconnect between what's being said and what's being shown is still there, so it still means I'm pausing and then jumping back 10 secs and re-watching a lot of stuff at .7X speed again. BUT . . . .and this is a huge but . . . . . the video is immensely useful and delves into a lot of critical settings that I never would have even known to do (let alone even understand what they mean/are doing). In the end, I probably will spend 1.5 hours on this video with all the pausing, jumping back, etc (and I plan on typing up in a Google doc or something so I can have a summary of the instructions so I don't have to go back to the video if I ever need to re-set). But it is 1.5 hours well spent - the benefit in the end is that I get probably the closest I can get to a professionally calibrated TV without the cost of a professional calibrator. (I know, professional calibration is the gold standard and would def be better/best, but I'm cost-constrained so this video is profoundly useful and valuable to me, at any speed/synchronization - it's the closest I'm gonna get to any sort of calibration that meaningfully improves my picture). When you look at it like this (getting the benefit of a professional calibrator's summary settings on your TV for FREE btw), Classy's video is a bargain and super useful, even if you do need to spend a little more time than you wanted to spend, watching, jumping back, watching again, etc. In sum, thank you, Classy - great value and video, I am very grateful.
Thank you for the feedback. Going forward settings videos will try to be done in one take recording voice while I go through it. Previously I would voice over the footage which is difficult to speak clearly and quickly enough to stay with the video footage.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations No worries at all. I'm still very grateful that you take the time to do these videos and I don't expect perfection in their production - the content is what matters most. I paid almost $400 to calibrate my last TV a decade ago, before getting this Lg G3 a few weeks ago, so this video is a huge value for me, as-is. I know your in-person calibrations would be even better, but your settings on this video already make such a big difference that it's really all I need, and at a price that my wife is happy about!😀
Thank you for the settings. I just set up the LG OLED B3 Series tv and was able to follow by slowing down the video so I don't have to stop and rewind every 5 seconds because of how you go. Great advice! However, the B3 series tv settings seems to have a lot of differences so I'm not sure this really works for the B3 Series LG TV. I tried my best but wish I would have looked specifically for a B3 only video.
I’m kinda confused on the PS5 set up. In the LG G3 thread on AVS Forums you stated game mode isn’t accurate but in this video I think that’s how you set up HGIG? “Game mode is much further from luminance targets than FMM, it’s less accurate.” Can you clarify this?
Thanks 🙏 only issue I’m getting is when moving around Xbox UI and HDR games tv losers signal and I have to remove n replace hdmi to get it back and you mention a ‘handshake’ issue but it’s got latest update I think it’s update 30 so I’m not sure what I’m missing if it’s been sorted by lg in an update. What should I be looking at? Xbox vid settings or lg settings? Any help appreciated
I notice in my C3 and also in this video how the brightness dynamically lows when something to bright is on the screen (like the quick changes of the menu) is the ABL and there i nothing to do about it right?

Can you please do a video about calibrating HDR with a G3 in Windows 11? I stream games from my PC to the TV using the Moonlight app directly on webOS. I have enabled HDR but the colors seems a little bit washed out :(
I'm confused about the description of HDR settings on PS5. Like, the whole 18 clicks. Which ones do you need to actually count, and which do you just go all the way in one direction until it's white/black?
Sup Classy, few issues on my C3, Is the adjust brightness in 22 point only on the G3 ? In HDR Game mode I only have 22 point Code value - which is at 1023 I don’t have anything below that other than 712 ? and then the RGB ? I don’t have the adjust And my Game Mode in the optimiser is greyed out when on the xbox sx HDR calibration screen and it is in HDR Game mode ? I can’t seem to get the standard to highlight…. Any chnace you can maybe make a refresh video but just for gaming as I have followed all to a T Thanks homie, hope you are good
Awesome video this was super helpful, just got my G3 last week and the video quality is awesome after making the adjustments...... I had my XBOX connected to my Soundbar initially so i switched that over to the TV with the Pass Through enabled..... The only issue I'm facing is with audio cutting in and out... In terms of Apps on the TV, Netflix is the only app that works perfectly in terms of sound passing through properly.... All other apps have issues with audio phasing in and out unless I enable PCM in the Advanced Audio Options.... I tried using the Xbox and am running into the same thing, the sound issue is only resolved if 1) using TV speakers, 2) using Optical Cable, or 3) enabling PCM in Advanced Audio Settings which is super annoying. I'm no expert but I feel it is a TV software issue that needs to be addressed so the sound passes through properly. I checked for software updates and have the most recent 03.20.17 version... anytime the sound phases in and our it shows Dolby TrueHD on my soundbard but when it works properly it shows Atmos on my soundbar (not sure how to turn off dolby trueHD or if there is some other underlying issue)

You leave sharpness in all these modes at 10? Isn't 0 supposed to be "no added sharpness" ? Wouldn't it be inaccurate at 10? Or is 10 supposed to be neutral?
0-10 is the same with native 4k signal. With lower resolution 10 will have a mild effect of smoothing edges like an AA effect. It's up to you if you want that or not.
This might have been mentioned somewhere and I missed it, but if anyone is finding they are unable to change the game visual mode, I found that I have to also have the sound on game mode.
On LG it's automatic. When its on there isn't a way to test it yet but theoretically it shouldn't add input lag from VRR itself. But if the processing of the TV needs to add input lag for VRR that is possible.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations I’ve been manually switching it in the optimizer depending on the game. Would be nice to just leave it turned on and not worry about it. Thanks classy.

Just unboxed mine coming from a tcl roku TV and wow the menu is pretty daunting. 😅
Thanks Classy for the video guide. Do you know if lg is aware of the color desaturation when switching to game mode? Or is it something you noticed?A little annoyed they are sacrificing picture for latency.
Whether can I find the video for the PC Gaming settings?
Thanks!
Hey Classy, sorry to be a pain but have you done pucture settings for the G4? In my humble opinion you are the man regarding LG oled settings. I followed your video above and you had my G3 singing. Im a subscriber btw. Only reply if you have time. Thank you ❤️
I will soon, thanks.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations Any news on the G4 settings chief? Looking forward to it
Thank you for this video, definitely helpful and has improved my experience!
Hey, I have 3 questions for you :)
Are these settings sufficient so there is no need for real calibration?
Thank you !
Hey, great video! Can you do one for the G4, 🙏 please
Could i use this for c4?
I’m considering the LG C3. I noticed your setting for the Switch you say that it is bright enough. I’ve seen some people claim just turning game mode on make the C3 too dim. Which has me concerned for Switch gaming. I’m curious if you have any thoughts or experience with this?
Thanks Classy! As always great Video!
Supremely invaluable video, Classy..
Thank you brother..
Lovely tv!
G3 is the champ of the year 💪
Amazing video! Any suggestions for an 4k UHD player? I have for example the Oppo UDP-203, and wondering what you'd recommend?
Hi there Classey. I have 65 inch G2 for 1650 euro, Samsung s95c for 3000 with deal, Sony a95k for 2700 and Samsung s95b for 1500.
I thought of going to LG G2 but I don’t know whether Samsung would be preferred choice for the price.
I watch movies and not competitive games. Just concerned about Samsung s95b. Is it worth it for long term or need to go to Sony a95k or new Samsung s95c has good heat sink and can get a bit accurate then s95b
just a heads up. LG fixed the black level issues and 2.2 works properly now.
Meaning we should favor that over BT1886 ?
Wanted to thank you for this video, while I don't have the TV I plan on getting one. I have seen this video at least a dozen times and had to write everything out for my own sanity. I do have a question though, I saw that you had the Spears & Munsil disk, (not in this video) would that also help me achieve a decent calibration, without actually calling a pro to do it? Thanks so much.
Thank you very much. Love these videos... im not sure of their was a firmware update.. but i dont have HGiG
What setting would I use for my set top box?
Amazing job! I just got my G3 77” could you tell me recommended settings for Fios cable?
I notice in my C3 and also in this video how the brightness dynamically lows when something to bright is on the screen (like the quick changes of the menu) is the ABL and there i nothing to do about it right?
Will you also do a G4 settings video, like this one? :)
What is the OLED brightness for SDR for 77” G4? Also when I turn truemotion off Real Cinemo doesn’t become ungrayed out?
On G4, there is only cinema home in dolby? No cinema
brother will lg oled g4 55inch give gud picture clearity of sd channels which is usually 480 p ,if not then what about 720p,?nd 1080p? as im going to buy g4 but our usage is ott+set up box. so im afraid if the tv doesnt show gud sd or hd channels then it will be problematic. or sony bravia 7 will be really good at it!! for set up box channels??sd,hd.✌️👍
White screen, all the way down, count up 18 times. Black screen is all the way down.
@@ClassyTechCalibrationsThank you!
Sup Classy, few issues on my C3,
Is the adjust brightness in 22 point only on the G3 ? In HDR Game mode I only have
22 point
Code value - which is at 1023 I don’t have anything below that other than 712 ?
and then the RGB ? I don’t have the adjust
And my Game Mode in the optimiser is greyed out when on the xbox sx HDR calibration screen and it is in HDR Game mode ? I can’t seem to get the standard to highlight….
Any chnace you can maybe make a refresh video but just for gaming as I have followed all to a T
Thanks homie, hope you are good
Awesome video this was super helpful, just got my G3 last week and the video quality is awesome after making the adjustments......
Hello many thanks for this great video about lg oled settings. I was wondering if you plan to make a video about LG C3 as monitor as you have done for the previous models ou should we use the current video settings for the c3 as monitor? Kind regards Frederic
November 2023 How goods the oled Os setup and ai and settings with any new updates since you made this video? Still apply your settings or you had to re tweak with os updates ? On the LG 55" OLED EVO C3 4K UHD Smart TV (2023)
Thanks I can’t wait to try it out. I just ordered the G3 77in yesterday but it won’t be here until may 3rd
Can you explain, color depth at 55 will be less saturated? I use 50 and the colors seem oversaturated to me, or I'm just used to the weak color of LG CX ?
Should I also use the apple tv with rgb full with the c2??
RGB high on AppleTV, and auto or limited on the TV.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations could you make a video explaining the reason why
Cn you also apply these settings to a G1 (77”)?
3:05 i tried .75X like you recommend just for a few seconds and that was hilarious lol
What picture mode is the TV when you are adjusting the game optimizer in SDR?
Classy have an older lg c6 im seeing static in the image in all content what setting can i adjust to fix this thx.
I just bought a C2 will this work?
Which demo video is playing in this video can u paste the link pls
@classy Do you need to wait until you have at least 100 hours of screen time to do these changes?
Why
Thank you for this video. I can't wait to watch the PC settings video.
For Apple TV on G3 - which gamma did you use on the Apple TV ?
I just got the c3 how did you get those screen savers poping up the lobster ect do you have it set on store mode mine just plays that fire work picture
How much different are the C3 settings from the C1?
what settings should i use with my PC ?
Hi classy tech is the game mode fixed on the g3 and if not what was the work around for better colour and brightness thnxs I own 65g3
Mr. classy i have one question for you. i just bought a lg oled g3 i watched your video when you first set up this tv on the first initial set up you did not turn on the ai picture pro. so should i turn it on in my initial set up ? could you explain to me what to do. thanks have a great day.
For accuracy you want it off, and it doesn't work with most content anyway.
thanks. have a great day@@ClassyTechCalibrations
Quick question, classy,
why RGB high for the Apple TV?
For some reason it’s still dark af how can I make it brighter?
You leave sharpness in all these modes at 10? Isn't 0 supposed to be "no added sharpness" ? Wouldn't it be inaccurate at 10? Or is 10 supposed to be neutral?
0-10 is the same with native 4k signal. With lower resolution 10 will have a mild effect of smoothing edges like an AA effect. It's up to you if you want that or not.
This might have been mentioned somewhere and I missed it, but if anyone is finding they are unable to change the game visual mode, I found that I have to also have the sound on game mode.
Looking forward to the PC settings video - cheers
I know with Sony you said setting hdmi signal format to VRR adds input lag even when it isn’t being used. Is this the case for LG as well?
On LG it's automatic. When its on there isn't a way to test it yet but theoretically it shouldn't add input lag from VRR itself. But if the processing of the TV needs to add input lag for VRR that is possible.
@@ClassyTechCalibrations I’ve been manually switching it in the optimizer depending on the game. Would be nice to just leave it turned on and not worry about it. Thanks classy.
@@Kung_Fu_Kenny yeah you can leave it on
Can you please check if it switches audio mode to game optimizer when you restart a pc, switch hdr or start a game on pc? my c1 does that all the time. i will get c3 to stop this!
I've also seen somewhere that it has faster input switching and better DTM
Great video. I just received my G3 and this was very helpful. Thanks man.
Hello classy I have a question I am hoping you could help me with. I have an LG C3 and when I play a game if the video range is on auto the picture seems a little washed. If I changed the video range to limited that seems to correct the washed out colors but it will crush blacks. I play in SDR and I play on PS5. I am hoping you can help me with the crushed blacks as I tend to favor the video range in limited. Unless you have tips for deeper blacks with the auto range.
You are killing it with the reviews and settings. Great Job!
Im coming from a Pioneer Kuro plasma and found the G2 65” already too bright for me. I ended up returning it as my viewing distance is 10ft and wanted the 77” G2 instead. G2 77” in my region has just dropped from 3500€ to 3000€. Would love the 77” G3 but its out of my budget. Is 3000€ going to be cheapest its going to get for the 77” G2 or is it worth waiting a fews months for the G3 to become more “affordable”?
I have LG 65B7 from like 2016 and it’s still too bright for me lol I’m just looking to upgrade the size 77/83
I don't know details about your region but I know here in the States, there aren't that many G2s left. Once they're gone, the straglers won't go any cheaper.
Your viewing distance is 10 ft and you are watching a 77” TV? 🤣🤣 That makes zero sense
What stand is that? I need a good stand that doesn’t tilt the tv back any

I just tried turn off the hgig and stoped. In your opinion the hgig makes very difference? I mean, if I turn on, I always have to change the ambience mode to see better the image
Question - I'm running a Panasonic UBP820 4k disc player into the G3. On the external menu, do I select enable 4:4:4 passthrough? I have it enabled on the Panasonic UB820 settngs. I've noticed enabling it greys out a lot of the other settings such as Real Cinema.
Are these settings subject to change if LG updates the firmware?
Not really, LG usually doesn't make picture quality changes with updates.
Hey man. I used to have the C9 and was able to compare it to the S95B that I now have. While brightness wise S95B easily won that, I did thing the picture quality (how crisp a game looks) on the C9. Would you agree that's the case here too? Also, HDR games wise, specular highlights such as sun, fire effects, I assume that's still significantly better on Samsung QD-OLED?
Is the C2 a good value if I can’t get still the new beast?
Since we had the latest update the c2 is look pretty impressive at the moment
