How do I make it appear in the list? I already tried registering an LG account and log in on TV but that didn't do anything. Nor does turning on the AI settings.
You have to watch something in Dolby Vision to see those settings. When DV content starts you will see its logo in the upper right corner of your screen. The settings are only available while you're watching something in DV as the TV will automatically switch the options according to the content you're watching.

Hello, This LG C3 is an amazing TV. I have an issue that when you try to a schedule a recording via tv guide for BBC1 or BBC2 HD DTV channels 101 and 102 it reports that scheduled recording can't be completed try again. Which is no help at all. It will record all other channels. It will however record bbc1 and bbc2 SD via the guide. It will also record these channels if you perform a live record so really confused. Reset multiple times and on latest firmware. LG not much use the normal teaching to suck eggs. Anyone out there with this model could you try and record as above. Thanks
Should I buy G2 or C3? cuz c3 has DTS audio formats support now and i dont like the fact that g2 is on sale but lacks audio formas supports as being flagship model 2022. where as old lg nanocell led tv's has DTS support.
I've got a C3 on the way and it's my first C series. I do have a B series in my bedroom but use it at night only. So.....are these settings you have here ok for during the day? This will be in my living room in a semi bright room from 10am-3pm. I won't be watching a lot during this time but during the Winter maybe more so. I don't want to complicate things but wondered if I need Peak brightness on for day viewing? Of course I can play with it during this time but just wondered what you guys recommend?
Many of my menu options are greyed out whereas they are selectable in the video here. Any idea why? For example, all of the options for HDR - Clarity are grey except for sharpness.
Thanks for the video, but even though i select a Dolby vision movie, for example from Disney plus, the image settings doesn't show the option Dolby vision, but only the ones in the default list. What am I doing wrong? Where can i get a Dolby vision video or demo so that I can set it like in the tutorial. Thanks for help.
It's all about personal preference. I don't give a fig for 'industry standards'. I don't use Filmmaker Mode because I have the picture perfect in other modes (for viewing HD, SD, B&W... etc.). It can only be 'wrong' if you don't like what you see, and that's the whole point of customising picture modes.
As long as u don't use energy save mode, u see what the TV has to offer. Tweak things to your liking. Its get quite bright in a dark room so I usually turn the contrast/brightness down.
Just got a c3 and I have to disagree with using filmmaker mode especially for gaming. It gives way too much film grain and is certainly not the best in terms of picture quality
@@nickz5849your washing your image most likely and not getting true accurate colors but that's your TV so your call man. I had to adjust but after getting used to it warm 50 is so much better
For gaming you're better off using game optimizer picture mode with Dynamic tone mapping set to HGiG and colour to warm 50. This won't be as bright but it will be the most accurate
Very helpful video. Are the settings preserved across inputs? So, if I set-up HD/SD via the TV's tuner, then watch something connected to an HDMI input (Freeview box) so I need to set these all again? Similarly, if I set-up HDR10/DV from streaming apps. then use an HDMI input to feed HDR10/DV content, do I have to apply the settings again?
I'm looking for a 4k eye-friendly TV. Can you adjust the LG C3 to be eye-friendly? I read that OLED TVs can get really bright, to the extent that it hurts your eyes.
I assume I can use my PS5 by turning HDR on and off for the first two setup steps (SDR and HDR) and then the Plex app for the Dolby Vision with any content that triggers it, correct? I don't use any kind of HDMI input bar PS5, hence why I ask.
Dolby Vision IQ should be the recommended for people with bright rooms and thus changing light environment during the different times of TV watching, no?
No, because it forces other picture processing onto the image that scrubs detail and motion is changed, with the controls for those features greyed out. If you have a bright room, then the out-of-the-box settings shown are more than enough to provide a bright enough image. If you are in dim surroundings you may want to dial back the panel brightness to match your viewing room ambient lighting. I hope that helps.
I am very happy with the TVs dark room performance. But I'm wondering, what the Peak Brightness Setting in HDR/DV actually really does! I am watching in a completely dark room and i think Peak Brightness turned off in HDR /DV creates a more realistic Picture. Why is Peak Brightness recommended to set on high? Does that Match the creators intent? What setting is to choose for correct PQ-EOTF? Thanks!
I can't select the Aspect ratio (seems on original but not clickable) also, when I stream something from netlix, in the HDR setting as you call it, I have Dolby Vision (select mode) Cinema Home (user Setting), Color gamut is not clickable and seems set on Native. What should I do with the AI settings? also, do you have any suggestions on the sound settings? I have an LG soundbar and it gives me problems when I select : TV Sound Mode Share it turns On Dolby Atmos but then ruins the sound quality when I'm steaming music on spotify or Amazon music.... @@blogdelbeto I gotta be honest I don’t think this tv has the ASBL issue at all and I’ve read in many forums that the issue is no longer present on the C3/G3. Very nice video!! Quick question : I'm using the last firmware and was wondering if I'm the only one having this "issue". Using my C3 as a PC monitor on windows, I stick to SDR for desktop use, but once I play a video in HDR, the TV will detect the HDR content and switch mode. Am I the only one? Thanks
It auto switches to HDR ? How ? Are you on Win 10 or 11 ? Do you have HDR always on ? I ask because my C3 doesn't switch to HDR automatically. I have to manually switch on HDR in Windows and only then HDR content works.

It depends on your room. I personally would adjust it down for a dark room and that will not affect greyscale tracking or gamma in any detrimental way in FMM.
Can anyone with a C3 confirm if there is any way for us to disable TPC either in the settings or in the service menu like with the C2 and C1? I want to use the 42in as a PC monitor and need TPC disabled. I don't want any dimming to take place as there is often a lot of static images (browsers, windows, emails, etc.) open on a monitor.
Appreciate the video! Applied all settings but put white balance colour temperature to 0, maybe my eyes but warm 50 made the whites creamish but then my eyesight is terrible 😂
I bought the C3 two days ago and DV looks significantly darker compared to my older C1, or even my CX. Try playing “Ozark” and then you’ll see that Marty’s face looks so dark you can’t even see details on the right side of his face when he’s taking to the clients (first episode). And the clients also look really dark. I’ve made sure all the power saving settings are off, and all the extra setting to “brighten” the picture are on and nothing. Same result. So frustrating. Any one else has noticed something similar?

Hi I'm thinking about buying a C3 in the next week but have an important question to ask. I currently have a 55 inch CX, top of the range Sony avr, series X, apple TV 4k all hooked up. My question is about the internal apps on the C3 and audio, my CX internal apps will only play in compressed DD 5.1 when PASSTHROUGH is selected or compressed Atmos if Auto is selected, essentially meaning the internal apps are HDMI 2.0 limited which is incredibly annoying. Does the the C3 do the same thing?? All of my connected devices on the CX have no issue when PASSTHROUGH is selected, it's proper 2.1 and uncompressed. Thanks
Thanks for the video, impressed by the picture quality with Dolby Vision. Aspect ratio is greyed out on my tv and can’t alter it, but they’re all set to ‘original’

Has LG fixed the pink tint issue on the left side of the screen that the C2 had?
I believe the G3 fixes the pink tint with MLA, therefore I assume this persists to date with all LG models except the G3.
My setting under hdr film maker mode are all greyed out.
I can’t even change them.
In this video they are not greyed out. Ugh wtf
Thanks for the succinct and well articulated video. Appreciate you just getting straight to the point. 10/10!
Incredible video! I was amazed by it.
LG fixed it: th-cam.com/video/WL1k-K4jFcY/w-d-xo.html
Everything displays as DV. I don't see an option for filmmaker mode. Help please!
That's because you are feeding the TV a DV signal.
@@avforums thank you. Yes, I figured it out. My cable company uses a DV source.
Is this good for gaming with game optimizer on?
I wasn't able to enable Dolby Vision set up
Watching Last of the Mohegans on Blue Ray again after the settings... Man what a difference!!
Only thing i change is the warmth from 50 to 20 way too yellow othervise
One question men; ultrawide mode on lg C3?🤔
It was a bit dark until I changed to the same DV settings as in this video.
Same here
Hi I play 4k discs that have Dolby Vision using my Xbox series X which puts out Dolby Vision but don’t see the emblem on the top right corner of the screen only Dolby atmos am I doing something wrong or did I miss a step somewhere any help you can give is appreciated
Xbox does not do Dolby vision for discs only streaming Netflix Disney plus etc
@@rodneybrownlee5676 ok thanks I found that out already
Simple and easy. Only thing for me is the TruMotion setting. Anything less than Natural and it looks insanely choppy/jittery. Sure there are distortion effects caused by this and Smooth Movement, but that's okay. I'd rather that than hating even looking at the screen at all
Can someone make white color more bright without effect other colors?
Does it have screen brightness?
Cinema now missing in Dolby Vision. Only have Cinema Home.
Hi I just bought a c3 eco but I see the pixels kinda look like frame tearing,I saw something that said I’m probably sitting too close is that true? Or is there something to fix this
Broo.... If I should turn off everything...then what is use for buying the expensive flagship TV worth of 1,400 dollars ....I could have Just bought the normal LED smart TV which I can get by just 250 dollars....
Thanks
Thank you helped me out just setting up new TV great tutorial
Great to hear!
Thanks for the video, impressed by the picture quality with Dolby Vision. Aspect ratio is greyed out on my tv and can’t alter it, but they’re all set to ‘original’
How do you change settings wtf, they are all greyed out i cant change anything
Looking to be new into the Oled game. I see you are setting the TV to each individual source type of input, but is it all on the same HDMi input on the TV and does the TV just automatically adjust itself to whatever the feed is no matter what the source?
I can’t select Peak and gamma settings how I can have full control to be able to change it?
The only way I know how is through calibration software like Calman by Portrait Displays. Requiring a calibration meter.
Thanks for this, trying to navigate the multiple settings, is a nightmare, that you've just made into a pleasant dream :)
is there a G3 video settings
There will be soon. But you can use these settings as they will be the same out of the box.
