I absolutely love this video. So many settings recommendations out there are about “preserving accuracy” by doing things like turning down the colour temp down to the piss looking warm 50 setting. Those people have too much regard for accuracy and not for what actually looks good. I love this video because it shows that gaming is about showing colours that pop and make the experience more enjoyable. Well done, friend! Going to try some of these tips on my G3.
Games don't output any hdr metadata, that's why different mastering peak luminance settings don't do anything. With dtm:off the 4000 nits setting could affect the brightness, because lg oled tvs assume a peak brightness of 4000 nits without any metadata sent.

Thank you for making this video! super helpful! Would you say that HDR is better than Dolby Vision? I feel like DV makes it too dark. But when you switched to Dolby Vision, did you first go into the XSX settings - general video modes - check 'allow Dolby vision' and 'Dolby vision for gaming' then adjust the settings on the TV?
I have a 65” LG G4 and the menu does have a bit of a delay when initially opening it as well. Hopefully they can update & optimize it later on considering it’s the Alpha-11 processor. Also, you may want to turn on AMD Freesync as the PS5 & Series X both use AMD Radeon RDNA 2 graphics processors.
Hi. Thanks for the great review. I also noticed that the menu is slow on my c4, but as soon as I switched the 120 fps mode to 60 fps, everything became normal. Apparently, the processor has a hard time processing the image in high fps and dynamically displaying the menu.

Yes. HGIG is basically turning DTM off. To properly calibrate your HDR, switch to HGIG and then adjust the console HDR settings. Some games look better with HGIG and some need DTM on for a boost. Example: RDR2 with HGIG on requires in-game brightness adjustments to compensate for the darker image.
