Jack Lawton boi, I know how the Marine corps is. It's not their fault they've become this way, they are getting better and better slowly but I'm not going to let short comings stop me from joining. Cheesy as this may sound, but it's what I've wanted for all my life and the high school to college life where I work at some stupid office space wasting away my time doing something I don't love. The Marine corps however is what I WANT to be in, I don't have delusions of being a war hero that can anything. I know how the Marine life is but I look pass the short comings. And I already know what these videos are for but I think you've heard to many myths if you believe recruiters have "recruitment quotas"
Onyx Rafle oh really? Then I guess everyone recruiter gets chewed out every day then huh? They do NOT have a quote. They merely want to recruit people because it's there JOB to
They are so proud of what give. Even though i didnt have to do combat i still was part of the air force and military and i gave four years, now that i am old i am sorry and i regret it was not more. I was 20 now iam 78.
Robert Wilkins Thank you for your service Sir. My high school has the AFJROTC program. They are the NY-773 FIGHTING FALCONS. I am considering joining the AF or USMC but idkk hehe.
My team week consisted of Indy 500ing the rain room for two hours a day, sprinting up to third deck and back down 400 times, and getting yelled at by that older large African American gentleman that fits uniforms on PI. But this looks cool too.

As long as you try and the DIs know you're trying and not a shitbag, they WILL make you a Marine. Just make sure you're passing the physical tests at least to show you meet the pt standards.

I am looking for some advice from anyone knowledgeable on my situation. I am heading to Paris island this coming August and my goal has always been special forces, specifically Force Reconnaissance. This is what I always wanted so I never gave it much thought. I am physically ready. All I need for a perfect score on the PFT is to drop 40 ish seconds off my 3 mile, so I feel confident about this aspect. However, after going to MEPS I got a 98 on my ASVAB and several servicemen have told me not to go into special forces because I am “too smart” and I will have no career after I get out. If anyone has any knowledge about this subject, especially what one would do as far as a career after special forces, this future Marine would greatly appreciate it.
Don't listen to anybody else, you do what you want to do you do what you feel is right in your heart I was in the Marine Corps 6 years got hurt in Iraq.... If you want to be for con or Raider you do that there's always careers for that..

Jc I agree with everyone, you do what you want. Each MOS can be used in the civilian world. That includes combat MOSs. I know former combat Marines who are now State Police officers, former personnel clerks who are business managers, supply clerks who now run warehouses, trucks drivers who are driving 18 wheelers. So on and so on. Do what you want to do. Semper Fi from an old Marine Sgt
I am active in the Marines and I have a tip for current people who are stuck on if they should join due to gender or heavy drills...well it doesn’t matter what gender, you join the Marines to fight like a Marine. You joined a family.
The 5 k is the first of 4 hikes you do at boot and each is worst and increases distance each time, and we did over 50 in 2 days no one gives a fuck dude💀
