Even without co-op, there were no real joint missions with Miles. You do 3 with him I believe? Attempting to stop them from freeing Li. Chasing Lizard andddd the end. Hell Harry had the best one with freeing Lonnie. Us not being able to swing and see a Spider-Man chasing a car and going in to help was a miss. Not being able to run into Peter doing a crime was a miss. It never felt like there were 2 Spider-Men. Just the player and that’s a problem
The series was introduced as single-player. Why should there be co-op? Gotham knights doesn't even 60fps because of that co-op crap and too many concessions would have to made to accommodate the feature.
7 out of 10, the Gameplay is Great, Each Spider-Men brings something Unique, the Villains look Good, and the Graphics look Amazing, I just think that if they delay the Game for Another Year and Fix the Story and the 3rd Half, it could have been Better but if Feels Underrated because something felt missing and now a Year Later and no DLC Expansion, I guess we’ll never Know.
7/10 is a bit low id say, people rated the first game sooo highly (mainly coz of its story) but in big part to its gameplay which the 2nd game FAR supercedes, the story wasn’t the best for sure but it wasn’t awful and had some great moments, as someone who gave the first game a 9-10 id give this one an 8-9
@@bekwem4625 To me if the Game had more time and the Third Act was Better and we got DLC to complete Loose Ends, I would have given it a 8 or a 9 but I view it as a Underrated Game, now i am playing to play SM2 soon so I can see if I can change my mind, I just think some parts didn’t aged well
@@bekwem4625I wouldn’t say FAR supersedes outside of the web swinging. The mission design isnt any better, the set pieces aren’t better, and the combat is arguably worse in some aspects, but better in others.
I’ll never understand people who say this rendition of venom is “one of the greatest”, let alone the best. This game understands nothing about what makes venom interesting outside of his design and VA. I usually don’t care if a new adaptation of a character changes said character, as long as the changes not only make sense within the given context, but also supersede the original version. This version is worse in every way. Venom went from a dark mirror version of spider man that was beyond dangerous due to having access to peter’s memories and being able to not trigger his spider sense, to a big dumb alien brute that wants to take over the planet because “it’s an alien”. The entire reason venom is even slightly interesting as his own character compared to most of spider man’s rogues gallery is that his motivations are nuanced and evolve as he develops as a character. He has a twisted form of justice, which translates directly from him turning into an Anti-hero after finally forgiving peter and letting go of his hatred. He’s always been goofy even as a villain, so it makes sense he would be even goofier as a hero. I cant believe Im saying this, but the venom movies are a significantly better depiction of the character. And now there are rumors of a venom game with him as an anti hero? How does that make any sense? It’s beyond apparent that this version of venom could give less of a shit about saving people, he was more than willing to enslave the entire planet by twisting harry’s “heal the world” mission. You could make the argument that this venom just understood the assignment incorrectly and did actually want to help people, but if that were the case, why would he completely take over harry to the point of not letting him have any influence over his body? It feels like a jumbled mess of 2 scripts snd they just said “fuck it, mix and match till we get something that looks coherent”
Thank you for writing this so I didn’t have to write it😂. Yes Venom used to be the vegeta to Spider-Man’s goku. A dark mirror. In modern media he’s just a big gooey brute who doesn’t shoot webs or anything spiderman like. He’s more like fat majin buu instead of Vegeta. I think ultimate Venom is when things went wrong for this character. PS: Venom was big because the host was big in size. I’ll never get over a small kid like Harry being Venom. The symbiote is not supposed to enhance the hosts size. This is something else taken from ultimate Venom which is stupid.
Perfectly said. The real shame is his design and voice being the best. The Same goes for Kraven as well who was more Gladiator than hunter. The goons did the hunting.
I think part of the problem is that (personally) venom doesn’t work well as a character per say, but as a catalyst. He brings the worst out of his host, but he isn’t fully or even mostly in the drivers seat. Here he’s just an alien that wants to take over the world. This is part of why I think venom on Peter worked well in Spider-Man 3, as goofy as it is. Venom doesn’t cause Peter’s problems, it just amplifies them and incentivizes him to react poorly to them, he’s a never ending angry power trip until Peter finally becomes lucid after he hits MJ.
You said they buffed Peter, but honestly removing his gadget wheel made me feel like they were nerfing him. Only having four slots to do abilities and only a couple gadgets on the side was pretty disappointing to me. I also didn't love the trope the game kept using of letting The bad guy escape every time you defeat them because the story demanded it. I also think beating up random civilians who are now wearing venom suits is also ridiculous and kind of funny, but not to the game's benefit.
It’s hilarious how over the top sweet Miles and Peter are in every interaction they have but you get control against symbiotic citizens and just mercilessly stomp them out.
God this game was so disappointing. I was immediately suspicious when Peter tried to punch giant sandman in the face and was nearly killed until Miles saved him. Encapsulates pretty much everything the game would do wrong later on.
was so disappointed with this game having two spidermen had crazy potential but it didn’t do much with that concept the story was rushed and there was nothing to do compared to the first game.
@@Trench-coatwell to be fair it's not entirely insomniacs fault I mean they did have to cut out content and they clearly had a lot more stuff planned for the game just that Sony rushed them in a way and just needed a bit more time, also love the video 👍🏾
On the next Insomniac Spider-man 3 they need improve on the game play mechanics and focus more on the story because that's what the second one was lacking it had too much going on all at once as where they should've made the symbiotic episodes a DLC instead of a main storyline
I completely agree! A more focused storyline would really enhance the overall experience. It’s always better when the game mechanics and narrative are well-balanced. I am worried that they will go to big for Spiderman 3 though...
Idk why I thought this was a video essay by a huge channel. This is super well made and your script was phenomenal. You’ll definitely be big if you keep it up! You have a great voice for this!
While i did enjoy this game, it did feel like they were crapping on Peter so they can put him aside. The early builds of Spidey 3 show Silk as a playable character and most likely Peter's replacement. They should have left the passing of the torch for part 3 and let Peter end his own trilogy
I am not gonna lie the Symbiote Spider Man fight while cool in narrative might as well be the worst in gameplay aspects, in fact so many things are broken in that boss it’s ridiculous like webbing up Peter actually makes you immune to all his attacks he be attacking you but shootings webs makes you completely immune, Web Throwing Peter is odd too a lot of animations weren’t meant for him so when you web throw him Peter will also be doing the web throw animations making it look kinda silly, he has a lot of basic thug animations too that I found recently as yes Peter will pull out a godamm combat knife to free himself from webbing if you time with photomode and look up close spider man will be holding a knife when he breaks out of the webs things like this show how rush this boss fight actually and how it’s one of the easiest in the series too the bell just adds on to it even more on how easy it can get, I genuinely hate this boss in the gameplay aspects of things.
I had only three issues with the game: 1. Lack of side content. It was easy and yet somehow a bit boring to get through, except the Flame side missions, Symbiote Nests and Hunter bases. 2. Lack of gadgets. There were only four and, while I did like pairing them with the abilities, I really wanted the Trip Mine or others from the first game. 3. The last half of the story. The first half was peak with the exception of Kraven beating the Six in the background and Agent Venom's lack of screen time. The first few missions of the second act felt like they were pushing for a deeper narrative... and then they blitzed the last bit with boss fight after boss fight. The third act was a mess and, after five playthroughs of the story, I beliece Venom was a bit mid with his motives.
This game could’ve been much more. Abilities were nice but I still feel like the 3rd act could’ve been better, well and the 2nd. Peter doesn’t get big boss fights in his default mode. He should’ve actually fought Kraven at some point, and it’s obvious he holds back and that’s why he loses. Then when you get the suit and fight, Kraven sees how a beast has legitimately been set free. Instead, bro stabs you and gets beaten up by a man with a black suit, then sees you with the suit and is like “what are you?” Like he not even interested in us fr, but instead the symbiote. It would give way more credibility to “and still you hold back” Then Venom.. so man yes the fake out and us playing as him was fire but I wanted to fight him in base form. Maybe we get thrown through the pipes still. Rampage through Oscorp. Once we escape into Times Square, Miles sees the tv like “tf going on?” We switch to his POV to swing there and try to save the hunters/civis, then Pete wakes up to help Miles and BOOM, fight through the city (like teased before) Kraven wants his glory so once Venom deals with Miles, Kraven incapacitates Peter with some tranq or something (idk) and we watch as he eats Kraven. Something to show how feral he is. This is just me spitballing but something could’ve happened
in Terms of Design/Origin/Story my fav version of Venom is actually Ultimate (comics) I loved the fact that Venom was technically blood related to peter/eddie since it was there parents blood dna used to create the symbiote. and the thought of creating a cure for cancer and creating something like venom as a result is incredibly terrifying to where science can take us when things go wrong.
@@Trench-coat Yeah mane. I stopped playing it when Harry became Venom bcus I just knew we were getting the PS5 Pro & the DLC. I wanted to savior the taste. Total L.
I wouldn't say length was the problem. The time was wasted. We could've gotten more scenes and bossfight against with venom but they opted to remove it for MJ missions and time wasting side quests like the BVA or the music side missions. I'd cut those for a meaty story.
Not sure what it is. But i don't see myself replaying this ever again Whereas I played the first one a few times, and will again someday I feel the story was rushed. A lot of villains were wasted. I think it was nice that Harry was Venom But after playing this, it got me thinking maybe I don't care for Venom as much as I thought
the whole problem with this game is, the story ends in the exact same place it starts. no primary characters die/go through something life-changing in the story. that is something the first game did way better- having to fight doc ock, someone peter had an attachment to, and aunt may’s death, really showed that being spiderman comes with consequences. peter and miles don’t really face any consequences for their actions in the second game. besides making the whole third act of the story longer, i personally think they coulda went down a darker path with the story and made peter kill the lizard or kraven while under the symbiote, then at least him taking a break from superheroing would have more weight behind it. the traversal and the combat are great, the parry feature was definitely something i was glad they added, but they should not have removed peter’s gadget wheel, that was what made peter unique in comparison to miles- peter was able to rely on his gadgets while miles was able to rely on more brute force thru his electric powers
Sorry guys I gotta jump off the bandwagon for this hot take: The spider arms are really cool&make Peter’s gameplay way more fun. Maybe I’m not enough of an old head but spraying mfs with webs on every combo just doesn’t feel super fun after 20 minutes. That’s why I don’t think red suit Spider-Man from web of shadows can’t be topped,he was moving like Bruce lee while having variety on his web combos.
7/10 i think is being nice but its a fair score. The game is fun to play, but not to complete. The story is fine too, it's just very short and yeah the lows are very low. It just feels like the game is missing a whole two acts in the story. We paid 70 bucks for an unfinished product.
I think if they tried showing how the Aunt Mays death was making Peter already more agressive and unstable, making him more violent in gameplay without the suit in an effort to stop others from dying then the suit could be his solution by giving him unlimited webbing and stuff like that. While Peter tries to be a hero, have the symbiote take Peters body on its own adventures to help its host and in it's eyes: Their best friend. Despite this added advantage, have Kraven somehow hold the upper hand killing more villains than Peter or Miles could save together, further enfuriating Peter. Slowing down the symbiote arc to just even two weeks would also be enough to also crumple Harry and Peter's friendship enough to make a Venom that has a genuine reason for they're name when the symbiote feels betrayed and rejected just like Harry. I blame insomniac for not taking any comic writers on board the writing, because Venom is just a poor character and the black suit is that feeling you get when you eat a 6 star meal but is taken away from you after the first bite.
@@Trench-coatYou know what they also could have done as well? Show the symbiote in a sympathetic light, and how it wants to help people. For example, the flashback scene where Dr Connors first discovers the alien and it tries to bond with Connors. Show it from the Symbiotes perspective where it informs Peter “We never meant to hurt the doctor, we were just scared. We were banished to a planet we knew nothing about nor its inhabitants language, just for being different, for wanting to help instead of take. When he extended his hand to us, we thought he wanted to bond with us to help us, but then he started to panic and then they shot his arm off. Then they imprisoned us like “they” did.” After this Peter could ask the Symbiote if it truly wants to help people why didn’t it go back to Harry when it knew he was sick. “Because, being bonded to Harry felt like imprisonment. We did what we could only because we were both stuck in that tank but even we could not cure his disease permanently. While we were bonded to him we accessed his memories. Through him we saw your world, how beautiful it was, and then we saw “you” swinging through the city “free”, and saving lives. We knew if we ever got free we would do whatever it took to find you, and as luck would have you were best friends, but after we bonded with you, we realized of all the people you saved, “you” needed help the most. Here the symbiote sees the memories of how Peter failed to save the people he couldn’t save including Aunt May, and how he blames himself for not being faster, stronger, better. Then, it sees the memories of all the people including JJJ who blame Spider-Man for the cities problems and it infuriates the symbiote to the point where it cannot understand how someone who has saved so many lives, sacrificed so much could still be hated, vilified, just like it was on its home planet. Here the symbiote realizes he and Peter are kindred spirits, he feels that he and he alone can truly understand Peter and would do what it takes to help him and keep him safe.
I honestly really really enjoyed this game, but the story felt rushed yet it felt like the pacing was very very slow. Aswell as the sidemissions, Spider-Man 1 was ahead of its time! I waited till last week to start it, and i just finished it about half an hour ago, new game+ & two 100% playtroughs. I hope Spider-Man 3 comes up with something interesting, i'm still very hyped tho!
It's great to hear you enjoyed the game! I totally get what you mean about the pacing and story-it's a fine line they walk. I am super excited for Spider-Man 3 but also nervous that they go to big!
Ngl saying it's the best Venom is a bit crazy, since imo it's one of his worst adaptations, especially since his personality is basically non existent, but outside of that it's a great video and I pretty much agree with everything.
I certainly don’t mean best venom in general, I just mean in motion picture/gaming. Comics obviously have way better renditions of the character. I also meant more in a visual sense than in a character sense. This venom looks incredible. Thanks for watching!
Great video as usual. I disagree, however in some points, but I understand your critics. I loved the combat. It's intense and dynamic. I personally hated the way of using the gadgets in 1, I didn't use them a lot, but in 2 I was constantly using them. It was very fun. About the story, I didn't feel it rushed, but very intense, specially the last third part of the game. Everything was urgency and trying to make things right in a tragic context. On the other hand, I think that 1 was better balanced than 2 in terms of pace. Another thing I consider far better in 2 than in 1 is all the secondary stuff. In 1 it just was there, but in 2 I felt it mattered. And the movement across the city is just THE thing in this game. Let's hope when in Insomniac said there is no DLC planned for the game they just mean that there is another standalone product like Miles Morales game. But I don't know. They must be very busy with Wolverine. I agree about that when you say there are some things that feel some kind of incomplete. We will see for 3. Congratulations for the great job!
@@McGalahad I didn't remember that XD. Yeah, It's weird. But I keep in mind all that part like I had to fight and save the city with no stops. I trully loved the last hours of the game.
Going into spiderman 2 I was expecting the game to be the arkham city (still the best superhero game as far as I'm concerned) of its series and it doesn't. The first game lived up to my excitement and it's very good and it was the foundation just as Asylum was for Batman but. Miles morales was moving in the right direction but this game was a letdown. Spiderman 2's stealth is worse somehow, the combat is missing the suit and visor mods, suit powers and gadgets are worse versions of the previous ones. The only good thing is the traversal and it's still lacking feature games like web of shadows allowing spiderman to run in any direction on the wall. I shouldn't have pre-ordered this one and got the RE4 remake and Deadspace remake. The games only cost 600 rands each at BT games and I would've saved 200 (I assume you're South African with accent). I agree about venom and Kraven being the best visually and the VAs did an amazing job but I was hoping they'd be stalkers who pounce out of nowhere like taskmaster did in the first game but Kraven was mostly a Gladiator. 6/10 after my second playthrough.
Yeah I feel you. I kinda also wished they would pounce on us in the open world like in Arkham knight with the vampire bat. Ps - Dead space remake is phenomenal. I'll do a years later on it as well.
The game should've been longer to accommodate the grander story or the story should've been more simple. The first game had an amazing story with the same length. It's all about the execution.
It's not going to surprise me if the devs reveal something in December.. Even though they have said they have nothing planned currently....could they make a Directors Cut or a SM2.5? Maybe. As for suits? They haven't said no to that....I have a couple ideas for some suit packs I'm hopeful for the devs to add, id even pay actual cash for this too... A Legacy Suit Pack(all the remaining suits from the first two games, also adding in Spider-Cop) A Spiderverse Suit Pack 1 Yr Anniversary Suit Pack(a hoodie version of the evolved suit with black/red style for miles, human spider suit/vigilante suit for peter, vampire hunter/wakanda suit from the recent comics, ultimate spider-man(1610 and 6160).. A Sinister Six inspired Suits for Peter and Miles A Prowler Inspired suit for Peter Iconic/Classic Suits from the Avengers Game for Peter As always, keep up the delightful work! 😊😊👍👍
I think people need to understand that SONY still makes Spider-Man films, and we haven’t even tapped into Tom Hollands Black Suit Arc. They probably have so many great ideas that they would rather save and plan for the big screen so they can keep some original Black Suit stories/motivations for Tom that would be new and fresh. I personally feel that Spider-Man 2018 made the Tom Holland trilogy step up in terms of A) Storytelling ( Homecoming was good but still very SAFE and backed by MCU shit ) : B) FFH implemented the White spider which has never been seen UNTIL Insomniacs version : C) NWH went back to a familiar Spider-Man type story and tone, which btw came after the adoration for Spider-Man PS4. Hell they even rescanned Peter’s face to even resemble Tom Holland since he’s this generations DEFINITIVE Spider-Man, which so happens to come out around the times of these movies. Just my 2 cents💯
9/10. One of the best games on playstation 5. The only gripe for me is too much combat. I like more exploration or platforming and there’s not enough for me here. But everything is top-notch
The game was awesome, the gameplay was exactly what I wanted. But they had to kick Peter down to make Miles stronger and that made the last impression I got from this game, not a good one
@WhiteDireWolf_217 a household name doesn't mean it wasnt successful prior to spiderman but it means that even the average person or a casual fan knows the name insomniac now. Much like naughty dog became a household name after the last of us but it wasn't less successful before it, it just soared to massively renowned levels.
I agree Big time on the gatget part of this video, using gatget was problebly my favorite part of the combat, in the first game, and they were that because of how Well crafted and unik they each were, i could forgive Miles morales fore not giving us that many, because story wise he had just started, he wassent at the point of having a good selection yet, it fith him, and it made op fore it by introducing the element of venon abilitis (not the villan Venon, but the energi they named venon when it were introduced) and invisibility during stealth, but in Spiderman 2 its a lov point too few people talk about, because there to busy complaining about other things in the game. They isentioly removed all the previus fun gatgets, to instead give us Four new ones thats no were near as fun to use, or even fell creatively made, trust me im all fore new things, but not if i have to loss old and good things to get it, and fore what? There may have been people who said ✌️Spider man shouldent have that many gatget’s, because that makes him too much like Batman✌️ or something like that, but those were a small minority, you shouldent remove a core part of your games identity because of that, i mean come on, and while yes there were also a bigger amount of people who Said they dident like how you had to change what gatget to have equipt during battle, and while yes on that point i can understand it, as i too found it anoing sometimes, but i have a thing to say about that, that really isent hatting on the gatgets, thats hating on the system around the gatgets, a flawt system that this game coincedently presented a perfeckt alternative potientialy better system fore if they had gone thoug with it, a new gatget whell, that gave you Four slots at once, but not acces to all of them at the same time, they could easily have taken those early gatgets, and workt them into this new system, on top of that it dosent work story narrative wise, because following the story narrative, Peter has gotten slower and more tired over the years, why would he get rid of something so helpfull to his job, when he is at this State in his Spider man career. I know they have said in interview’s that they removed them because they made you too overpowert, but i personaly dont buy that, when your clearly capeple of taken enemies Down really fast using wathever of the abilitie moves your charekter has, this fackt actually leads me to belive that that is something there just saying to not reveal the real reason there doing it, they dident want the gatgets to overshadow the simbiote abilitys, wich if true, i Think a better sollution would have been to have Them become ekstra powerfull, when you have the simbiote on, like the simbiote is putting parts of itself into them, to make Them more effektive, image if you use the trip mine while you have a simbiote on, and the mine (with Black tendrels) takes multiple people around onto/into eachother, this way the gatgets dossent overshadow the simbiote, but shows the usefulness of it. On the spider arms, i actually dont dislike Them, i found Them cool, my biggest problems with Them is actually that they dont have any real story relevance outside of the Cut scene with finnishing off Sandman, and as soon as you get simbiote abilitys, they become irrelevant, you could remove Them interely from the game, and the story wouldent change at all, so to give make them seem just a little less like they just came fore no real story reason, i would make it so after Sandman has been hit with Them, a brif word exchange happens between Miles and Peter that goes like this, (Milies: still cant belive your Psyki could handle going Back and tampering with the tecnoligi that ruint your relationship with your mentor figure. Peter: Well lets just say my psyki needed to make something good come out of that tradegy… and also to remind myself never loss myself like he did) i actually started feling it was a wast that i couldent use Them, when i had the simbiote abilitys eqipt, unless i went all the way Back in the meny to manualy switch Them, so when this other guy on TH-cam presntet the idea, that they could make a Quick switch of Them by the Press of a button in future games, i couldent stop feling like the game should have had such a funktion, that could even have workt fore the gatget wheel too, if they had workt all the previus seven gagets into it too, (six if you make the impact web, and bouncy web gatget in the second game, the same gatget, wich they almost are, just add a combat and stealth switch funktion onto it) and perhaps add more new gatgets. Also Milies should tottaly have different gatgets from Peter to differentiate Them, and to add more variety, i Think something like things he stole from the undergrund bases, because he tottaly would Hunt Them Down to put Them all in prison, because of what happend to Phin, next to that he should have some prowler type gatgets that he Got from uncle Aron, or better yet, make those Prowler bases contain things Aron things Milies should have, now that hes done being the Prowler.
You said it, especially because with gatgets you can get really creative about how to use them, and with abilities you just press a button, and them make a move that you have no control over when activated.
In my opinion, I feel like what they’ve should’ve done, was obviously do the symbote storyline kraven and the effects the suit has on peter, then for marvel’s spider-man 3 have the back half of this game play out, just so everything doesn’t feel rushed, then for Marvel’s Spider-man 4 they can do green goblin and dock Oct but I understand why they wanted to do a trilogy and not 4 games
TL:DR version; Insomniac fumbled the ball with Venom, and it started with the first game. And S-M2 is very overrated. I think Spider-Man 2 is a big improvement in terms of game play and traversal, and combat, they did make some serious improvements there. I know a lot were questioning where is my web wheel and I feel the similar. One of the best gadgets in the first game was the trip mine. So helpful during combat and stealth sections. No sign of it. I will say though that minimising the gadgets was the better option as lets face it, Batman has a utility belt and Spider-Man doesn't even have pockets on his suit so I guess him having less gadgets is more real? So from a gameplay perspective its pretty good, but the web wings seem to be TOO good if you know what I mean, but that's a minor gripe. Speaking of gameplay... lets talk Mary Jane. Despite overwhelming customer feedback from the first game, where nearly everybody said that they hated the MJ stealth parts, despite that, Intihar put them back into the sequel, and then, double downed on them! They made Mary Jane as OP as required, where she's able to deal with trained killers as easily as Solid Snake would have. AND, she was able to evade/run from the Symbiote in the tunnel chase sequence. You can't even say Pete was "holding back" for that, because he was literally fast asleep, almost comatose. But somehow, MJ got away! And her plot device taser got upgraded to make her even more OP. Where, with it, she was good enough to fight symbiotes! AND she was involved heavily in the final showdown with Venom. When I am in the finale of a game, where the boss fight is happening, I did not want to be playing as MJ! Intihar clearly trolled everybody with this, and playing as MJ adds, almost, NOTHING to the story. The only thing it adds is when she is chased by Symbiote Spidey, that is the one and only thing playing as MJ contributes to your enjoyment, other than that, dead loss. If they wanted MJ in this game series to be sneaky and a bit of a Solid Snake, then why the hell didn't they make her a SHIELD agent or something?! News paper reporters who spend a bit of time in Symkaria don't have skills like this! Of course Miles has more powers than Peter does, he has his "zappy pops" as Rhino calls it, and he's got invisibility, plus he has ALL the gadgets peter has access to, and the "basic spider powers" too. At the start of the game they gave Peter those Spider arms to try and give him more ability but it just feels like nonsense. At the end of the last game Peter was unemployed and totally broke. Where did he get the money or facilities to make those things? I know he's resourceful and what not, but to make stuff like that would require resources and equipment that he just doesn't have. And if they hadn't gave Peter those stupid arm things, they could have tied that into the story, where Peter feels that Miles is a better Spider-Man than he is and gives real credence to the "I need this suit, it makes me a better Spider-Man" remark he says later. Now in my TLDR summary I said they fumbled Venom, and I stand by that. I know a lot of people loved the Insomniac black suit, but I didn't like it. I'm glad they gave the option of the Classic comic black suit, but you have to wait till level 50 to unlock it, which is a kicker! The classic suit looked sleek from a distance like a normal costume but up close you see it shimmers and moves over his body. That is my personal preferences, and I do think the insomniac black suit is overrated too. But the story is definitely eye rolling bad in some cases. Several examples include Peter getting annoyed about a gun club/shooting range. Harry installing a "Diverse board" for the Emily May Foundation as oppose to you know, a competent board with the right knowledge and skills, the Miles side mission where you help a gay classmate ask his boyfriend out for prom. (Why couldn't Miles have y'know... saved them from a Hunter attack, or something, why did this mission even exist?!) And last but not least, Dr Connors - a decorated scientist and researcher - touching an unknown alien substance WITH NO PROTECTIVE CLOTHING OR TOOLS!!! But the MOST irritating, eye rolling part, is Miles and his "college essay" its 500 words Miles!! 500. That's it. Dude could literally cut and paste it from online, or let Ganke do it. Yet they made this into some big deal which drags on throughout the entire game! I realise Miles is meant to be relatable. But stone me! Miles and Ganke code and make AI like its nothing pair of them have massive intelligence, they couldn't AI that? ChatGPT doesn't exist in this universe? No copilot! Seriously! I'm not even finished on the story yet, the story is basically Web of Shadows in HD. Which would have been ok, but, I wouldn't have had this "heal the world" crap in, that was probably a lot to do with Sweet Baby, and its a mess. They'd have been better off using the symbiote as a means to create medication for Harry, rather than have him wear it first. I would have had Peter get the symbiote, somehow, fairly early in Act 1 as well, and have removal of it at the start of Act 3 and then it goes to Harry. The medication side effect on Harry would be it would give him super strength, and speed and agility but it wears off. I would have Peter reveal to Harry he is Spider-Man, I would have upped the Harry is jealous of Peter thing, have Peter and Norman getting closer and closer so Harry gets more and more jealous and angry to Peter, also Peter and Miles needed to be more closer than we had, so Harry can be jealous of Miles and Peter's relationship, because Peter takes Miles with him to save the day and not Harry even though Harry has got temp powers and this makes him mad. So then when Harry gets the symbiote and becomes Venom you get a more emotionally charged 3rd Act IMHO. These are just bullet points as what I as a Spider-Man fan long term from the 80's to now would like to have seen. And yes, I would have had Harry die in Act 3, 100%. There needed to be consequences. serious ones, and there just wasn't. Everybody survived, well... except some iconic supervillains which were killed off camera! What an absolute travesty that Shocker and Vulture died off camera... Speaking of supervillains, I'd have definitely used Kraven and had him hunt the villains, and have Spider-Man try to save said villains and fail, this would be one key reason he doesn't want to take off the symbiote. Anyway, I think that's enough typing now. I'll end there.
Jesus bru… I can tell you’ve put weeks and weeks into these essays and yet only have 1k subs?? Todays society only cares about SPEED & Kai cenant troll content 😢😢
@@Trench-coat Great vid btw, can’t believe I only found your channel today. I’m just hoping Peter will still be the main focus for the 3rd game. Green Goblin has always been Peter Parker’s arch nemesis. It’ll really feel strange if Miles is the main character for that game.
Personally, I don’t think the anti-venom suit was a bad idea, even though it looks like toothpaste. However, I think the execution could’ve gone a lot better.
I really wanted to play as kraven and go on the hunt for the supers he was tracking., I also wanted to get more playing time as venom I was disappointed with that. The Mary Jane mission was not needed at all. And it was a let down they left us hanging on kraven family he said he has a wife and two kids that wanted to take over the family business. They dropped the ball.
I'm furious that they weakened Peater so much in spider man 2018 he was a bad ass he fought all these villains he was just very strong but in spider man 2 he seems terribly weak and Miles being spider man for a year (I don't remember if it was definitely a year) is a better spiderman than SPIDER MAN in my opinion the story would have been better without Miles or at least they could have not made Peater so weak. What do you think about that?
my guy he lost aunt may and he's physically and mentally exhausted from being spiderman and having all these responsibilities, he needs a break which he got in spiderman 2
@@eapen7297 "He can't get exhausted, he's spider man!!!" *hes a literal human being with superpowers, he still has feelings* If you played the game you should've noticed he's just not as energized, his spider sense still works but he's caught by surprise more often which can easily be attributed to distraction, anxiety and etc due to all the stress he's going through with his best friend, MJ, and the symbiote Hell the theme of spiderman 2 is LITERALLY PETER doubting himself as a spiderman, he's not fit to be one, he's getting slow, falling behind etc... With the symbiote all of that was technically fixed, he's stronger, faster and now almost on par with Miles (minus the aggressive nature of the suit) But even so, he's still tired and needs a break from being spiderman and allow others to shine (Miles and possibly Silk), though he'll probably still remain the main spiderman just not as the main focus
@@killforskill_bla5441 Hopefully he won't be shadowed in future games, which probably won't happen if we get a standalone game for silk but hopefully they know what they're doing with pete taking a "break" again
We all thought this would be the next Arkham City, but it ended up being the next Arkham Origins: a follow-up that, while a good time regardless, doesn't feel like it innovated a whole lot given the time and budget given to it.
But origins was only meant hold gamers over for arkham knight. Origins only made tweaks to the already successful arkham city while adding unique wrinkles like the unique enemy types, the emphasis on bossfights testing specific game mechanic without castrating the system. The devs in game informer interview said they weren't aiming to reinvent the wheel. Miles Morales is the origins of the series and spiderman 2 is a disappointing sequel that took away more than it added. Unlike the arkham series adding and refining with every sequel from gameplay standpoint
I can free roam the hell out of spider man 2019 because when chasing cars it’s more hands on and action packed when stopping crimes and shoot outs sometimes the police are there and it adds to the atmosphere they took that out of spider man 2 chasing are just button timing and it’s only one button and stopping crimes like shoot outs and robberies it’s a bit bland there is no cops shooting it makes the free roam feel empty AND another thing I hate about the chases they just spawn out of nowhere they used to drive around and catch your attention before the 911 call even comes in .in spider man 2019 YOU FELT LIKE SPIDER MAN in spider man 2 I feel like I’m watching a movie rather than BEING SPIDER MAN
I adored the first, enjoyed the second. Won’t buy a third if it follows the trend. Never liked venom, and certainly didn’t like more Miles, MJ and obscure unnecessary Miles missions.
6/10 i wasn’t invested in the story or characters at all aside from kraven and the symbiote arc for peter was far too forced, they didn’t make it seem convincing at all and made peter far removed from himself instead of being a darker meaner version like i feel a good symbiote arc would
@ I feel like the whole 3rd act was just rushed and an excuse to fit Venom in. They portrayed the Hunter as the main villain but he went out to easy. Would’ve been nice to fight him as Venom Peter then Miles comes and see what he does and he fights the symbiote out of him.
Just totally botched the 3rd act. The whole web of shadows story line was too much for one single act, especially when it’s been done. Should have just went with venom causing chaos in New York trying to kill Peter. Peter isn’t supposed to have spider sense with venom so it could have been so cool to take that off and make it more difficult, and have a real reason for Peter and miles to fight him together. “Better together” that’s what they advertised and we did not get it. First two acts were really good, almost perfect.
It's OK... Doesn't get even close to the level of the first game. But is Ok. The visuals are stunning, gameplay is really cool. The story, though, is all over the place, the game can't focus on neither of the protagonists, the villains are underdeveloped, and the third act is a mess.
It's called the honeymoon phase. At the start we were just excited for having a sequel, two spideys, venom, kraven etc etc. But now after time has passed and the honeymoon phase over. You start to look at the game for what it is. A rushed story, an emasculated Peter, nothing new or innovative over the first game (except for gliding with a wing suit and bigger map), same side missions as the first game, rinse and repeat, no additional story content, dropped story lines (carnage and chameleon). It played on the strengths of spider man 2018 and that's all about it.
Opening scene was awesome. I got bored halfway through. I forced my way through the story and deleted it. I had not motivation to do the side missions. I am kind of glad it had no DLC. I loved the first one and really enjoyed Miles Morales. And for the love of GOD, no more MJ missions!!!!!!!!!
@@shehryartariq007 The flaws of the first game started to stick out when scrutinized. This one didn't have much of a honeymoon stage honestly (speaking for myself) it's a disappointing sequel and I ignored my gut when it said drop the pre-order to get 2 other games. The only strength it had was it being the sequel of the first game and it fell short.
@@roncrudup2110 I also had to power through it the second playthrough was a slog. The reason I quit was the MJ section in the final mission. I stopped right there, I tried again with new game plus for the trophy but it was a mostly a speed run.
Wasn’t this game’s story all about embarrassing Peter for the whole runtime of a game just to setup Miles as your “main” Spider-man for the third game?
Kraven should have been the only villain. As much as I like harry as venom. I hated how rushed it was. Kraven was actually cooking as a villain and venom was so rushed it ruined the pacing add in Mj being an aftwr thought and Miles having no weight in the story it makes it feel pointless.
this game was the last of us part 2 all over again. the legacy of this game will be when sweet baby inc came fully to the forefront on everybodys radar
If that's your immediate takeaway from the situation, then the wokespotting brainrot has set in. There are a myriad of factors surrounding game development that can impact the final product, so no, a single consultancy firm is not actually responsible. Spider-Man 2 was ultimately rushed by Sony, which led to a scramble of readjusting and scrapping various plans in order to come out with something hopefully better than it'd be worse, according to Bryan Intihar, the director.
@@megamillion5852 being rushed was one of the problems. and as far as that "brainrot" you speak of, tell me how im lying. between shoving MJ down everyones throats, to the gun control line to forced diversity and rainbow mafia representation, tell me how im lying
@megamillion5852 Sony rushed them? Or was it poor time management? Bryan Intihar cut content for MJ sequences (knowing damn well players didn't want that stuff) and the Hailey and BVA side missions instead of refining the gameplay mechanics because they took more than add. The stealth is worse combat devolved into a gimmicky ability system unlike the first 2 games which perfectly separated the characters. They had 5 years to build on their already established builds and the budget ballooned to 315 million dollars. Don't absolve Insomniac they are just as responsible. Intihar clearly wanted to stroke his ego with the addition of useless crap that gamers clearly didn't love "Add stuff people like but also add stuff they don't think they'll like and make them like that stuff". Enough with the boohoo Sony forced them excuse for this studio 5 years that more time what was needed to build the first game from the ground up
Ik it's not relevant, I just want to come here and say that venom 3 totally sucked, another madame web situation going on here, why even include knull in the trailer? 4/10 maybe 5/10 if include the last act.
@@Trench-coat the last 30 mins of the movie was fun, the rest not so much, Maybe it's because I expect to see knull in the movie because they put it in the trailer! He got like 1 min screen time max.
Damn this game really is dead man. Compare the first game, this didn’t live up to the expectation I wanted. It didn’t have the longevity the first game had. And the reason was 1. the gameplay 9/10 it feels the exact same as the first. The combat don’t have a lot of varieties to it, no button combinations/ u can’t double perfect dodge/ no environment takedowns/ u still can’t double/triple finishers on enemies which is absurd. Heck even with the black suit, u can’t even morph into the suit and u can’t do more than one finisher. This is why im saying it didn’t have that longevity.
Probably a 6/10? Idk hard to judge this game. Of course it looks great and the gameplay is rlly fun, but the story is just so mediocre and generic that it’s hard for me to give it a very good rating. When these games are built all around the stories it’s hard not to let that weigh into judging this game. I think the first game is better in almost every way
What he. Meant by spider arms was that, it doesnt suit Peter's character. As in the prequel, where he crafted his own gadgets, the spider arms don't fit that narrative in the sequel. He just gets the spider arms. To try and be level with the awesome powers of miles.
That's fair. Love what you love. If the game was perfect to you then that's all that matters. It's just my opinion, don't let people on the Internet try and convince you otherwise. Glad you enjoyed it, I did too but I had a few issues with it. Still a game I would replay in a few months.
I won't be playing the next spider games from insomniac until it's semi free on ps plus or for free regardless. The first game was great, and it's been subpar to a letdown afterward. It's not worth the full price. A new game director that's a true old school spidey fan that gets the source material or the messiah gotta be at the helm for me to want to pay full price again. Here's an idea, have us pay a reasonable price($100), then do seasonal story arcs like a TV series. Story modes for each arc can be 35-40 hrs of gameplay each. Have a 3 part arc every other season done ahead of time. Then, the developers can make more money with online play and dlc. Then, move on to a new 4 part arc sequel, 3 years later. GTA V it with a true interactive city. Finding odd jobs as peter to pay rent while quick changing into spidey to make the job easier(Pizza Time). Customized suits for Pete/Spidey.Comic collections that you get to read. Destructible enviorments.Chemistry class where you learn how to make new webshooter and suit upgrades like in Bully. Lose the spider tech iron man spidey Schick with spider arms and be more spidey on a budget. Have two separate developers rotating development for every sequel. Just concentrate on Spider-Man, nothing else. If Hogwarts Legacy can make a detailed banger of a game, why can't Spidey? Mind boggling and disappointing that the spidey games aren't on par with Hogwarts Legacy and GTA V.
Mid game, forgot about it when I 100%. Only one mission was memorable, yes I'm no marvel fan but then again these developers aren't too🤡🎪. Sit back and watch DEI and sweet baby Inc infect your fantasy.
What are your thoughts on Spider-Man 2? Let me know down in the comments. (This video has spoilers)
It did not live to masterpice that was frist game
I didn't get to play Peter much and when I did it felt like he wasn't as good as Miles
The fact there was no co op with 2 spidermen is still insane to me
I was fine with no multiplayer... I prefer no multiplayer in my single player games tbh
@@baki484Gotham knights is a great example of a game that did zero things right lmao
@@donovanbowman8157really. I ran into both Peter and miles fighting crimes. You must not have played the game or at least any side activity.
7/10 is a bit low id say, people rated the first game sooo highly (mainly coz of its story) but in big part to its gameplay which the 2nd game FAR supercedes, the story wasn’t the best for sure but it wasn’t awful and had some great moments, as someone who gave the first game a 9-10 id give this one an 8-9
@@bekwem4625 To me if the Game had more time and the Third Act was Better and we got DLC to complete Loose Ends, I would have given it a 8 or a 9 but I view it as a Underrated Game, now i am playing to play SM2 soon so I can see if I can change my mind, I just think some parts didn’t aged well
I totally agree with you!
@@bekwem4625I wouldn’t say FAR supersedes outside of the web swinging. The mission design isnt any better, the set pieces aren’t better, and the combat is arguably worse in some aspects, but better in others.
By those things you mentioned it sounds like an 8.5/10.
I agree with you. I certainly meant the best version of Venom in terms of design and voice. In terms of character he is very weak!
This is the most accurate description of the character, and a big issue with every depiction we've seen in pop media of venom since web of shadows.
I totally get you! It’s like they took away Peter's coolest toys and left him with just a few very over powered ones.
Fair point. Stop making Peter weak man... he is the OG!
was so disappointed with this game having two spidermen had crazy potential but it didn’t do much with that concept the story was rushed and there was nothing to do compared to the first game.
The game had so much potential but perhaps they were to ambitious...
@@Trench-coatwell to be fair it's not entirely insomniacs fault I mean they did have to cut out content and they clearly had a lot more stuff planned for the game just that Sony rushed them in a way and just needed a bit more time, also love the video 👍🏾
@@Jaffyhigh Thanks! Yeah it's clearly not just insomniacs fault. I think working with Sony is very difficult.
Wow, 1 year, I remember waking up for school and doing that sandman scene before I left, time flies
Such a cool opening for the game!
@Trench-coat it was, that game was a blast
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found the script engaging. Your support means a lot!
While i did enjoy this game, it did feel like they were crapping on Peter so they can put him aside. The early builds of Spidey 3 show Silk as a playable character and most likely Peter's replacement. They should have left the passing of the torch for part 3 and let Peter end his own trilogy
This is so true. Peter is getting pushed aside for legacy characters which sucks.
Peter is returning for part 3, Norman will bring him out of his “retirement”
Had a superb mindblowing time playing this game. Easily strong 8.3/10 for me.
Awesome! I’m looking forward to replaying it on the PS5 pro!
I had only three issues with the game:
I literally agree with everything you said! 100% spot on.
Nice take bro. Who feels like Spiderman 2 was too short? I need a game longer than 15-20hrs?
Bro honestly the game was over so quickly. I was so disappointed by how fast it went by...I got the platinum trophy in like 16hrs.
But i don't see myself replaying this ever again
Whereas I played the first one a few times, and will again someday
I feel the story was rushed. A lot of villains were wasted.
I think it was nice that Harry was Venom
But after playing this, it got me thinking maybe I don't care for Venom as much as I thought
i feel like story aside i still enjoy replaying the first more
Same!
The MJ sections kill the enjoyment for me. Also the story is not the best sadly
the whole problem with this game is, the story ends in the exact same place it starts. no primary characters die/go through something life-changing in the story. that is something the first game did way better- having to fight doc ock, someone peter had an attachment to, and aunt may’s death, really showed that being spiderman comes with consequences. peter and miles don’t really face any consequences for their actions in the second game.
besides making the whole third act of the story longer, i personally think they coulda went down a darker path with the story and made peter kill the lizard or kraven while under the symbiote, then at least him taking a break from superheroing would have more weight behind it.
the traversal and the combat are great, the parry feature was definitely something i was glad they added, but they should not have removed peter’s gadget wheel, that was what made peter unique in comparison to miles- peter was able to rely on his gadgets while miles was able to rely on more brute force thru his electric powers
Yeah I tend to agree that the game doesn’t really move anything forward… in some areas it regresses.
Totally get what you’re saying! The new stuff can be fun, but there's just something about that classic Spider-Man vibe that hits different.
You should honestly be on the writing staff... such a great idea and I am actually surprised they didn't think of that.
Whoever says they dont like co op in their single player games have clearly never played the warriors
Eyy my South African TH-camrs making video essays on gaming. Im here for all of it
Gotta represent bro....thanks for the love!
I wish the venom part was longer 😂 so much fun tearing thru everything
Lol it was pretty good
Insane video quality, keep it up bro
I really appreciate your kind words! It means a lot to know the effort is paying off.
I agree with you on everything, it’s sad that this game could have been better, hopefully the final chapter won’t disappoint, great video! ❤
Thank you for watching!
Anti venom suit is great. Love it overhated
Thanks for the comment. Glad to hear you overall enjoyed the pacing of the story. Can’t wait to see what they do with Wolverine!
Bro, Miles trying to get to 1st base with Haley during a literal apocalypse is the opposite of urgency.
@McGalahad but what ensues immediately after is. It is an awkward pause tho.
Spider man games need to be 50 hours plus of story if we are only getting one game every 4 years
The game should've been longer to accommodate the grander story or the story should've been more simple.
A Legacy Suit Pack(all the remaining suits from the first two games, also adding in Spider-Cop)
A Spiderverse Suit Pack
1 Yr Anniversary Suit Pack(a hoodie version of the evolved suit with black/red style for miles, human spider suit/vigilante suit for peter, vampire hunter/wakanda suit from the recent comics, ultimate spider-man(1610 and 6160)..
A Sinister Six inspired Suits for Peter and Miles
A Prowler Inspired suit for Peter
Iconic/Classic Suits from the Avengers Game for Peter
As always, keep up the delightful work! 😊😊👍👍
That would be awesome...
Oh yes it would be! 👍😊
Amazing video, i actually agree with everything you said. The game was dissppointing, it took a while to realize because we were too hyped
Thank you for watching! Yeah the hype for this game was unreal.
Keep on going, you got a great talent, the start is always slow but keep on pusing forward because you got this, good luck :)@@Trench-coat
@@niv6921 appreciate it!!!
Tbh I hope they don't do black suit with Tom. I have had my fill and it's never been done well enough. They always try to overcomplicate it.
9/10. One of the best games on playstation 5. The only gripe for me is too much combat. I like more exploration or platforming and there’s not enough for me here. But everything is top-notch
Jedi survivor is the game for you.
The game was awesome, the gameplay was exactly what I wanted. But they had to kick Peter down to make Miles stronger and that made the last impression I got from this game, not a good one
did he just say insomniac became a household name off of spiderman ???
I did… and they did
@@Trench-coat They were a household name as far back as the Spyro games. This is just what they are mostly known for in recent years.
Not forgetting the Ratchet&clank and resistance franchises. But sure spiderman made it a household name!
Gadgets are far superior to over powered abilities!
Yeah I think keeping it a trilogy is better but they needed to make this game longer.
What a great video. Well summarized! 💪
Glad you liked it!

@@Trench-coat Great vid btw, can’t believe I only found your channel today. I’m just hoping Peter will still be the main focus for the 3rd game. Green Goblin has always been Peter Parker’s arch nemesis. It’ll really feel strange if Miles is the main character for that game.
@ I totally agree, also hoping for green goblin! Hopefully Insomniac nails the conclusion to this trilogy. Thanks for watching!
Personally, I don’t think the anti-venom suit was a bad idea, even though it looks like toothpaste. However, I think the execution could’ve gone a lot better.
Haha accurate description
@@2Lowfywhat are you talking about he can't get physically exhausted and also he Spider sense should be better but it's not
@@eapen7297 "He can't get exhausted, he's spider man!!!"
*hes a literal human being with superpowers, he still has feelings*
If you played the game you should've noticed he's just not as energized, his spider sense still works but he's caught by surprise more often which can easily be attributed to distraction, anxiety and etc due to all the stress he's going through with his best friend, MJ, and the symbiote
Hell the theme of spiderman 2 is LITERALLY PETER doubting himself as a spiderman, he's not fit to be one, he's getting slow, falling behind etc... With the symbiote all of that was technically fixed, he's stronger, faster and now almost on par with Miles (minus the aggressive nature of the suit)
But even so, he's still tired and needs a break from being spiderman and allow others to shine (Miles and possibly Silk), though he'll probably still remain the main spiderman just not as the main focus
@@2Lowfy I'm afraid ur gonna be right
@@killforskill_bla5441 Hopefully he won't be shadowed in future games, which probably won't happen if we get a standalone game for silk but hopefully they know what they're doing with pete taking a "break" again
We all thought this would be the next Arkham City, but it ended up being the next Arkham Origins: a follow-up that, while a good time regardless, doesn't feel like it innovated a whole lot given the time and budget given to it.
And Arkham Origins has a way better story tbh lol - I should do a video on it!
Are you a fan of survival horror? If so, you should review alien isolation, would be cool to see your thoughts on it
I love survival horror, but I scare so easily haha - I still have to check isolation out so I’ll definitely do that, thanks for the recommendation!
I can free roam the hell out of spider man 2019 because when chasing cars it’s more hands on and action packed when stopping crimes and shoot outs sometimes the police are there and it adds to the atmosphere they took that out of spider man 2 chasing are just button timing and it’s only one button and stopping crimes like shoot outs and robberies it’s a bit bland there is no cops shooting it makes the free roam feel empty AND another thing I hate about the chases they just spawn out of nowhere they used to drive around and catch your attention before the 911 call even comes in .in spider man 2019 YOU FELT LIKE SPIDER MAN in spider man 2 I feel like I’m watching a movie rather than BEING SPIDER MAN
I agree! Spider-Man 2 lacks the atmosphere that made Spider-Man 1had!
I adored the first, enjoyed the second. Won’t buy a third if it follows the trend. Never liked venom, and certainly didn’t like more Miles, MJ and obscure unnecessary Miles missions.
Remember how stubborn the stans were about this game
6/10 i wasn’t invested in the story or characters at all aside from kraven and the symbiote arc for peter was far too forced, they didn’t make it seem convincing at all and made peter far removed from himself instead of being a darker meaner version like i feel a good symbiote arc would
Amazing story mid game

It didn’t feel satisfying. It felt like a waste of time
I disagree but I can see how you might have been disappointed by it
@ I feel like the whole 3rd act was just rushed and an excuse to fit Venom in. They portrayed the Hunter as the main villain but he went out to easy. Would’ve been nice to fight him as Venom Peter then Miles comes and see what he does and he fights the symbiote out of him.
One year later and I think this game was a let down and overhyped. It’s fun on the first playthrough, but on the 2nd or 3rd, not so much.
@@doomguydemonkiller agreed… my second was way less enjoyable
Just totally botched the 3rd act. The whole web of shadows story line was too much for one single act, especially when it’s been done. Should have just went with venom causing chaos in New York trying to kill Peter. Peter isn’t supposed to have spider sense with venom so it could have been so cool to take that off and make it more difficult, and have a real reason for Peter and miles to fight him together. “Better together” that’s what they advertised and we did not get it. First two acts were really good, almost perfect.
I agree, I was so on board with the first to acts!

It's OK... Doesn't get even close to the level of the first game. But is Ok. The visuals are stunning, gameplay is really cool. The story, though, is all over the place, the game can't focus on neither of the protagonists, the villains are underdeveloped, and the third act is a mess.
Perfect description.
Playing with MJ more then venom is such a miss opportunity
So true...
Everybody loved this game and now everybody don't love this game...damn
Kinda did feel like that sometimes
The day mfs will understand that Peter will still be extremely relevant in MSM3 is the day I will die in peace
@@theblackmoonrising so they can crap on him even more?
Kraven should have been the only villain. As much as I like harry as venom. I hated how rushed it was. Kraven was actually cooking as a villain and venom was so rushed it ruined the pacing add in Mj being an aftwr thought and Miles having no weight in the story it makes it feel pointless.
Kraven was so good!!!!!
this game was the last of us part 2 all over again. the legacy of this game will be when sweet baby inc came fully to the forefront on everybodys radar

Spiderman 2 is not arkham city, its more like arkham knight
I even think that's too high praise.
100% - a step down in the combat department imo
Probably a 6/10? Idk hard to judge this game. Of course it looks great and the gameplay is rlly fun, but the story is just so mediocre and generic that it’s hard for me to give it a very good rating. When these games are built all around the stories it’s hard not to let that weigh into judging this game. I think the first game is better in almost every way
Yeah I totally agree with that assessment!
Peter was weak asf at the start of the game wtf r u 😂spider arms didn’t make him OP at all but it didn’t make much sense
What he. Meant by spider arms was that, it doesnt suit Peter's character. As in the prequel, where he crafted his own gadgets, the spider arms don't fit that narrative in the sequel. He just gets the spider arms. To try and be level with the awesome powers of miles.
Exactly! Well said.
Not too sure what vid said it but it described the game to a tee. Game is a masterful mess
Whitelight critique?
@baki484 I think so, it just auto played to that vid while I was working, so that's how I know about it
For me it wasnt rushed at all. I dont understand the criticisms
are you dumb
That's fair. Love what you love. If the game was perfect to you then that's all that matters. It's just my opinion, don't let people on the Internet try and convince you otherwise. Glad you enjoyed it, I did too but I had a few issues with it. Still a game I would replay in a few months.
I mostly agree even though man you gotta admit, third act was in fact rushed, even more than SM3 (the movie not the game)
Are you South African by any chance?
By chance I am… 😏
@Trench-coat Cool, digging the channel dude. Well wishes from Cape Town 🇿🇦
@@brettscheepers7363 Fellow brother from the Cape!
It’s a 7/10 and it’s upsetting when thinking about what could’ve been
Fingers crossed for Spider-Man 3
Story was meh, alas
So I won't buy the game then
It's worth playing but get it on a discount.
@Trench-coat I'll wait till it's cheap
Woke slop.
Miles Morales had better combat, Spider-Man 2 had better transversal
