I'm in both camps, I love both the classic style and RPG style. While not loving one over the other

I cant wait for this game! To me, Dial of Destiny didnt do Justice for Indy so I cant wait to see him in action again!

we are comparing an adaptation of the brilliant magnum opus GRRM has spent 3 decades writing (ongoing) with an adaptation of a (to be completely honest: rather ok-ish) fake history book our author churned out without to much effort that is just a bare-bones skeleton of a narrative with little to no actual character work etc... so, looking at the story itself in a vacuum - of course HotD won't be able to compete with got, and many will probably ridicule you for your blasphemous suggestions - but looking at what they have done coming from the source material: HotD impresses so much more. GoT was simply hard-carried by George's/asoiaf's brilliance to a degree, the writers of HotD actually impress in their own right.

I think GOT is more popular and could grab the masses attention, HOTD is a more solid and raw, it's not for everyone but definitely is getting better in almost every category. But then again, how many great movies coming out and didn't got the masses attention? It's not for everyone, that doesn't mean it isn't good, HOTD is putting so many others into a shame after the quality they are offering, to series and in cinema too. You are totally right 🙌🏻

2nd season is falling off hard. the show forgot about it's main characters and even walked back their development in alot of ways.

If I was a consultant at LucasFilm Games I would tell them this. From the start up remake all the classical Indy games to modern game engines like how Hangar 18 remade the Original Mafia game. Remake Fate of Atlantis into 3rd person with masterful gameplay and cutscenes. Remake Infernal Machine as well. Remake Emperors Tomb. Make the Original Trilogy game that the Collector was making at the time in the mid 2000s. Revive and continue the original 7th Generation Vision of the Staff of Kings, with a few modern tweaks. After that then make a few more original Indy adventures to close out the franchise for good. Thats a masterplan that can take over 20+ years to do.

Hello, a fellow South African here myself. I want this show to succeed to much, I love dragons and the Targaryens, but something just feels off about this season... Not sure if you agree and have you read Fire & Blood? They are already changing so much about the source material and that is when things fall apart...

Star citizen and no man sky do it way better and midfield is gonna take years before it gets anywhere close but by then other ips like elder scrolls and fallout are going to be out and there was an interview with matt (TH-cam) and todd howard where he said there using the same engine as midfield for tes 6

House of the Dragon is basically Game of Thrones Season 6. Incredible production values, great acting and direction, epic scale, making up for nonsensical overall writing, poor pacing and unnecessary changes from the source material.

Absolutely, I agree with your point about Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny. While it wasn't a bad movie, it was poignant to see Harrison Ford's iconic character showing the ravages of time. Yet, Indiana Jones remains one of the most enduring and beloved fictional characters, thanks to his timeless appeal and depth. I also agree with your take on video adaptations of movies and literature like Indiana Jones and The Great Circle. Video games provide an interactive experience that can expand on existing storylines in innovative ways that movies and series often miss. Too many adaptations rely heavily on nostalgia, resulting in repetitive plots and disillusioned fans. It's crucial for creators to aim for originality and depth in their work.

I feel like I have been watching a BBC documentary. Nice style. I think sometimes the soundtrack could be a little lower in volume in some places though! I get what you and other people are saying about loading screens and truly understand where that comes from. Maybe I have just not moved on, but one of my favourite game franchises had loading screens galore, and that is Mass Effect. I think there was a mismatch of marketing/expectations and I think the problem resides with the story itself. You said the first time you were connected to the game was when you had to make the choice of who to save, but that is not actually early in the narrative as you suggest. Iirc it's somewhere in the second half. That's a long time before you were "prompted" to care for the game. And then the ending makes it all "useless" and unimportant all over again... multiple times. I 100% agree with you that quantity of planets is secondary to the quality of what you find. Also there is this quote from the devs you have in this video, where it says something along the lines of curiosity being rewarded because you never know what you'll find, and my first reaction to that was, "Yes, I do know, it's copy-pasted facilities". It's like drop rates in a game like The First Descendant. Unless you REALLY like to grind through repetitive worlds to find the few gems, you'll just give up with that 3% drop rate.

We will see. I def think the psychology of the characters is more focused on than constant action and some people or a lot of people prefer the latter. I personally like both if it’s good but probably prefer thinking about what makes characters tick and their development. But yes we shall see :) Good video!!

HOTD is on the level of series 5-7 of GOT. Bad compared to seasons 1-4 but not as abysmal as season 8, so people will accept it.

It never ever ever ever will. First 4 seasons of got were great with amazing diverse characters of all profiles. Hotd isnt bad but its far from good. Boring, pretencious, washed down characters, grey and depressing. Only Otto Hightower is somewhat interesting, the rest are meh.

It can't, at least for me. Nothing can top the hype meter of later seasons of GoT with not knowing what will happen. The hype was burning too hot and after the end it's only ashes. Yeah, HotD was able to revive a Phoenix but it's not the same. Not until the Winds of Winter, God's be good.

I can't take TH-camrs like you seriously lol this show is a mess, B&C was bad, TB is boring and rhaenyra character is strange, i was expecting more of her specially after the last scene of season 1, they cut jace's story that make him interesting, unnecessary scenes like alicole, that weird septa rhaenyra thing and her arc with alicent like i can go on and on, even big fans of this show can admit the writers are making dumb decisions.

No it won't i i like this show but it doesn't come even close to GOT. These characters aren't nearly as interesting imo or well written as GOT and the female characters in GOT were much more interesting. And while a lot of critics like this show the majority of them also say it's no GOT

GOT is far more better than HOTD

imo got is much better cause there was some levity and we weren’t sure all characters were going to die. There are no characters on Hotd like Tyrion or Jamie or Ned. Viserys came close!! by far the most interesting character. Sadly he is no more and now the show is lacking even more.

Its crap

It's going to be better for the sole reason that the way GOT ended demolished it's legacy to infernal depths. It went from my rank 1 show to maybe around 10 or 15. HOTD can easily go for the rank 1.

It cannot outshine the first few seasons where the dialogues and story was so good... but since it was fucked up in the late seasons, overall HOTD can win out as there is definitely a more complex and interesting ending than what we got in GoT

I don't think so, HotD has his moments, but isn't even close to GOT. It's clear the writer are the classic Hollywood writers which are interpreting the story of fire and blood with the modern eyes, leaving behind the realism of the medieval period in Martin's books. The politics it's off, the characters are off, it's just doesn't feel like Westeros, but rather your average fantasy story about a princess and her dragons. I understand why people may like it, but miss all the new once that GOT had at the begging and earn it his spot as one of tv best series
