@MatthewDespino that would be a stretch calling tekton Chinese garbage lol, when only about 2 percent of there catalog is manufactured in mainland China. A nice chunk of it is made right here, in house and well known oems
Tekton is a US based company that was named after the Greek word for Technician. 76% of all their tools are maid in Taiwan and 21% in the US and none in China. Not sure where you are getting your information from. You are welcome to not like Tekton tools, but there is a difference in company and manufacturing from Harbor Freight. Looks like a decent set. I'm still using a set of gearwrench reversible that I've had for five or six years now. I only bought Snap-on once in my life working for a racing company about 20 years ago. For me, the only thing that could justify buying Snap-on would be owning a garage that does a decent amount of turnaround. The stuff I did have was nice, though. Anymore, I mostly buy Icon at Harbor Freight. They've got a good build quality, and it's easy for me to warranty if i need to. I've only had to warranty one ratchet in the last five years.

Man that snap-on ratchet is sweet . I have a lot of tekton . I have the big tekton 3/8 socket set with the breaker bar . The ratchet wrenches are nice . Love the no skips .
Thanks for the video. I have been thinking about getting a set. I have the non-reversible ones, but they go all the way into the biggest sizes. I have used my non-chromed old-time proto wrenches for 40 years and never thought twice about replacing them with chromed ones. No skips are important. Sometimes, it helps with damaged fasteners.

I know I said this before in a previous comment, but those Tekton wrenches look identical (apart from the branding) to the set of old-school Britool I have, with Beta filling in the gaps - the satin finish, the overall shape, and the ratchet levers are just the same on all three brands. I was comparing these just the other day to some Milwaukee MaxBite ratchet wrenches I have, and the ratchet action is way smoother on the Britools, with a lot less backdrag as well. Looking forward to the Snap-On giveaway, I could definitely put one of those FL80s to good use!

These days, they have become Expert, the Mac Tools and Facom budget line equivalent to Blue Point - not bad, but a shadow of their past glory.
The Snap On FL80 &FLHF80 are in my opinion the best 3/8" ratchets I have ever owned but currently no longer own. Say what you will about Snap On pricing but they absolutely hold their secondary market value better than almost any other brand.
Love this set, the no slip not being there is a problem, but the NO SKIPs proves the manufacturer does care about selling a quality , complete set that will last for life …….. nice review Jeff

These are certainly on my list of ratcheting wrenches. Between gear wrench and these... I'm leaning on Tekton because they haven't let me down yet tool wise. I have 10/12mm ratchets. Thought they were kind of gimmicky at first. but every time I them, I feel i need all of them.
I like a longer wrench. I have a good amount of Tekton tools, but not too many wrenches. I went with Icon for my ratchet wrenches. Later, when I decided I needed flex heads... I went with Milwaukee. Having bought elsewhere for my wrenches, I like Tekton, and you can't really go wrong with them. Great Value, great warranty.

Those tekton look nice!! I have a set of Dewalt reversing ratchet wrenches that I love. The Dewalt’s also have the cutout on the open end and no skips.

Jeff, I just got the Die Hard 1/2 dr flex head ratchet. First look I really like the grip being on the larger side. And the shaft seem a very good diameter. I like it.

blackhawks,tekton,starworks,Olsa!! the starwork heads are bigger, so in a tight area i dont grab them!!blackhawks are my favorite buy far!!!! really small head,smooth ratcheting,very tight fit on the fastner!!!!

If your a DIYr Tekton is a good start!! Icon,Capri,Olsa,Blackhawk are all good mid level tools!! Snap on is a fantastic brand!! if you have the money to buy them thats great!! i have Snap On tools but not alot!!!!
Jeff, if you could only buy one set would you pick the 15 degree offset type w reversing lever or a flex head type but no reversing lever or buttom. I'm looking for 6 pt box and considering a Kabo made Carlyle set which is not cheap or the Starwork set which seems to be a great value for a Taiwan set. The Olsa is not reversing. Seems impossible to find any reversing flex head combo wrenches. Would love your opinion. Thanks.
thats not a easy question for me!! i have so many i like!! blackhawk are my favorite non flex,72 tooth,reverse lever,15° offset,12 point box,which is extreamley small for tight areas!! i like better then tekton or olsa!! those starwork ratchet wrenches are a hidden gem though,and there 6 point that you like!!! i still think you heed flex-heads as well,just my opinion!!

I like ratcheting wrenches, but I find their use is limited. I've only used mine to change headlight shells. I don't like bruised knuckles.
