Enjoyed this video. I agree with the regular handles getting cold in the winter, but I always manage to find myself in a spot where I'm limited on space and the thick handle grips always take up too much room. That's probably just me though. lol. Do you have any gearless ratchets that you like? I saw project farm do the snap on gearless one but it's just too much money for a home DIYer like me.

You knw Jeff I owe ya a tool video, most of my Last ebay hord came in today And 200 worth of odds and ends are nearly here from Duratech direct so I'm excited to have my master shade tree mechanic set complete. So it's soon. But I bought 3 piece 120xp tooth flex heads by Gearwrench recently and all the heads are secured ith allen heads at the pivot point and we're loose outthe box so I time set lock tight propperly on the bolts then torqued to my liking and now they feel as good as my Proto fleg I like these gearwrench tools some just need a little hop up out of the box know what I'm saying?

Seems a shame to waste a 4+" deep drawer with wrenches that only need a 2-3" drawer.

I have both and the Matco is my go to. I believe the snap on is smoother. But the matcos thinner and locking head sells it for me.

Have them both really like both of them snap on hard handles are my favorite grip matcos locking flex head is my favorite flex head

The only thing I Like about Matco is the soft grip. Snap-on Ratchets are First Class

The Matco is nice. As someone whose worn out a couple matco 3/8" ratchets, I can tell you the the casing on the matco ratchets is softer than the drive. When it starts to skip your gonna warranty the whole ratchet, replacing the drive won't fix it.

I found a Craftsman 1/4 SAE set came withe ratchet extension's swivel and a 1/4 screwdriver in a black plastic case keep them coming Jeff 👍😎👍

If you open up that matco, I bet it’s dry. Probably why it’s so loud. A little lubricant would make a big difference. Both are a little out of my price range but I would love to have both of them. Gorgeous ratchets, thanks.

Man, I could use a Matco ratchet. Don’t have one of those yet. Lol I may need intervention 🤣 As much as I think Snap On could refine their exterior design a bit, I don’t think a smoother ratchet exists.

I like both of those ratchets.

That matco sounds dry...but it probably isn't.

Have you tried the new Snap-on locking flex head ratchets? They have similar locking mechanism as the Matco but they are bulkier.

I do like my Channellock stuff. Although the finish quality on the pliers and cutters isnt great, they seem to be quite sharp and durable. They're also on the lower end of pricing for a USA made tool I have a pair of the long nose pliers with the cutter and the extra gripping portion. Absolutely loved them, until I stretched the rivet and twisted them pretty bad(completely my fault).

Some folks on the interwebs claim a 3/8 drive Matco 88 rebuild kit will drop right into a gearwrench 84T. Haven't tried it myself but it sure is tempting.

I have the matco and the Snap-on and i use the matco a little more but i like the Snap-on i think the Snap-on is a better quality ratchet and in my area it tends to be a little cheaper than the matco ratchets i remember when you could get them cheaper than the Snap-on

Matco has come a long way since they broke out from MAC. From making tool boxes to making the tools to fill them.

The reason to put your hand behind something to achieve focus is to block the background that has an established focus. Since you can't seem to do this with success... get a piece of black construction paper to use in place of your hand. Once the camera focuses on your whiteboard or the Chevy mat with all that crisp writing... you can't just block out 40% of it to get the camera to choose a new point to focus on. Simplify your background. Keep your cue card off screen. Elevate production value. Less is more.

I’m thinking about buying some SNAP ON ratchets. Do you recommend the 100th anniversary I found some on eBay for a decent price or the regular HI VIZ ratchets that aren’t 100th anniversary? I’m on the fence on which one to get.

I've never owned a Matco ratchet. I do like the way they look. I have something close to 70 ratchets...and I really like a handful of the brands, but I have about 5, maybe 7 Snap-on, and they are my favorite. Have a few Koken...pretty new....that are a close second, but ratchets are one of Snap-on tools that I'm willing to pay such high prices for these days. My days of buying nothing but Snap-on stopped in my 20s. Nowadays, in my early 60s, I still get an occasional Snap-on tool, but I stick to mid-tier stuff mostly. I find I can buy a lot more tools that way.

I don't think you can go wrong with either ratchet!!! Did you check on the SP Tools spark plug socket set I mentioned a while back?

I visited the truck guys when I was a kid in my uncle's garage. Snap-on makes great tools, but the price! And the Matco are great but pricey too. Made in America has a cost. but even the trucks are starting to outsource components...

Jeff, Snap-on is toughe. But the Matco fits more areas. An if your going to buy another match ratchet any way, it is a nice touch to let the winner pick a color, for example 3/8 dr for me is mango.

I have a version of the Snap-On flex head but just a metal handle (no grip) and at that time it was the bees knees.

Both nice ratchets but for the cost you could get a 3pc set of the GW 120xp ratchets

Solid USA made pliers, only fault I will give them is they have no drive to be innovative in the field. Not a dig, they don't have to. I understand that too stay cheap and open they can't just be spending lots of cash.

At one time, the Craftsman USA Professional ratchets and the Matco units were often a dead copy of each other because they were made by the same source in likely the same factory. The Matco sounds like there are some loose marbles in there, but a lot of the Danaher made ratchets sound that way. I used the Milwaukee and Kobalt ratchets yesterday as as stated, they were a lot smoother than the Craftsmans I've used, but again, being used to the Craftsmans, I just deal with it. I have multiple versions/types of the Craftsman ratchets and they all serve a slightly different purpose.

If the Snap-on had a locking flex-head, it would be perfect imo. I've never had anything from Matco, but I wouldn't mind trying one.

That hard square handle just fits.

Matco 88 repair kits fit in the gearwrench 84, and 90 tooth ratchets, well not the backplate for the 90. I switch one of my 1/4 inch gearwrench ratchets with the matco 3/8 anvil but for 1/4 body kits. You can get in to some real tight spaces with that one. Snapon ratchet is a lot more smooth and strong but a bit more clunky.

I have been seeing the Capri ads. Maybe not so much recently. But, they seem to use everybody's videos for their ads, including yours. I dont know if Capri is asking for permission with the other guys, but I always thought it was weird to use someones video for an ad

My mechanic buddy walks on to the the Snap On truck and tells his dealer that Matco makes the best ratchet and that's a fact😂.
