As a student/apprentice aircraft mechanic, a lot of my tools are tekton. And I can't say enough good things about them. I will be ordering the new tekton ratcheting wrench set. Between the quality, the warranty and student discount. I don't think (for the money) there is a better bang for buck option.
Nothing wrong with tekton,i own alot of there tools!! middle of the road tools with a fantastic warranty!!! thanks my friend for your thoughts, hope you do well in your chosen field!! stay tuned for more good tool reviews!!!
Jeff I have a set of the Williams in SAE. I was in California on a job and my tools were at one job site and then I had an emergency repair come up at another location. I got them from McMaster Carr, the set I got was labeled as assembled in the USA with global materials. This was summer of 2021. They work pretty good. Thanks for the video.
Jeff, The big disc on top of the Williams makes the length of the box end look longer, is that true ? the 15 degree bend or offset is the Tekton a sharper bend?
the Williams big disc lever does make the box end look longer, its no longer than the tekton though!!! the 15 degree bends are identical on both brands!!!
Those both look like nice sets, i'd be happy with either of them. Interesting how the tooth count is different depending on the size for the Williams. Thanks for sharing those with us.
Yes both sets are nice!! i have had the williams for 4 or 5 months!! the tekton have no time on the yet,ill do a follow up later after use with the tekton!! williams has 3 different tooth counts,60,72,80 which i have never seen before!!
Thanks for the great review on these 2sets. Wouldn't mind having either set. Am thinking I would probably go with the Williams because of the ease of repairing the ratchet wrench head. Appreciate you reviewing them
I have the flex head Williams sets and my 5/16 wrench came to me unable to ratchet. So I tried Snap-Ons crappy customer service and after dealing with them for 3 months I just ordered the mini snap ring pliers I needed and tore it open. I eventually saw a tiny flake of metal in the gearing, I took it all out, cleaned with brushes, re-lubed with Super Lube, and reassembled it. It now works like a charm! They're very good wrenches too btw.
I have the Williams SAE and Metric sets both in flex head/reversible ratcheting wrenches, and i have absolutely loved them!! I hate dealing with Snap-Ons customer service, but i really love the wrenches!
I have had that Williams set for years and have been very happy with them. I also buy Tekton stuff as well and wouldn’t hesitate to buy those either. Both are nice for the average person.
Jeff, I’m a huge proponent of Tekton wrenches and sockets (Except the laser cut angle wrenches). I have the Williams and would not hesitate to buy the Tektons. Their hand tools are of the highest quality that Taiwan can produce and better than Gearwrench in a lot of cases. I want the extra long flex ratchet wrenches
I've been looking for new ratcheing combos to replace my Gearwrench ones that I hate, and I've been torn on what I want. I'm mostly torn between Williams reversible flex heads or Mac's precision torque fixed head reversibles. I already have Icon double box reversible flex heads, so I don't know if I want flex heads in my ratcheting combos as well.
Its good to have regular pattern non flex heads, but youll still need regular pattern flex heads as well!! i have and use both, the black hawks are another good option!! my black hawk reversable non flex are used almost everyday!!
Just got the blue point set for $150 at a pawn shop talk about a deal. Deal of the year, woke up today called my buddy to go tool hunting and first pawn shop we walked in there they were. Crazy stuff. 2023 date code on the wrenches still in plastic too
The only tekton tools I own are a 1/4 socket and ratchet set and 3/8 & 1/2 split beam torque wrenches but I like there new design wrenches. I think I may get a set of these...
I have the 6pt Tekton Flex head, full metric set (5-24mm). I hate that they have dropped 6pt for 12pt in their ratcheting wrenches. If it ratchets, it should be 6pt. If it doesn't, it should be 12pt. I also have an Icon 3/8 flex ratchet. I like both brands. You cannot go wrong with either.
Lot of folks hate that tekton droped the 6 point ratchet wrench line!! i like 6 point, but i also use 12 point!! the icon flex head are nice!! stay tuned!!
Those Williams wrenches look just like the sets I have my SAE are branded case IH and the metric are branded CAT and I think they are supposed to be the same as the snap on blue point could all 4 be the same
Yea they could all just be rebranded, you see that alot in the ratchet wrenches,mountain,platinum,k-tool,icon,ez-red all have the same long pattern double box flex- head ratchet wrenches!!
Yea you would think in that price range they would be stamped!! they cheaped out like china does!! they are very nice ratchet wrenches though!! stay tuned!!
@@jefftovani5535 Hey Jeff I was wondering if you have seen the Milwaukee wrench sets? They been on sale recently all over. They are really nice looking complete sets but they are pricey. Well the standard set isn't bad for what you get but the ratcheting sets are up there. I think they look really cool.
Like williams just wish they would update some of the designs. Tekton is pretty good and great length but still like the blackhawks the best. Proto set looks really nice just expensive.
Yea williams has been the same design for long time!!! the blackhawks are my favorite set,i had them for 14 years, and they never let me down!! thanks for your thoughts my friend!!!!
When it comes to buying tools, this is the one area that makes me wish that all products sold in America were required to use metric fasteners. It would then only be necessary to purchase one set of hand tools. As for precision machining, the decimal inch system is far superior to the metric system due to the latter being more greatly impacted by thermal expansion of parts and measuring tools. Otherwise, the metric system is superior due to its ease of use.
It will come down to ones preference on these!! tekton has a fantastic waranty!! these 2 sets are close for quality and price!! thanks my friend for your input!!

Do you prefer Williams or Blue-point? I prefer the shiny chrome over satin
Both good, but ill go with williams!!! i like shiny chrome, but satin ok!!! thanks my friend!!
@@jefftovani5535 thank you. I'll check out Williams.
Thanks for the great review Jeff. Hopefully whomever asked for the comparison got the info they needed. I have to say I like the Williams better.

They are decent,no doubt!!! tekton is as well!! comes down to prefrerence for most folks!! thanks my friend!!
Two nice sets ,I like the fact you can rebuild the Williams in case. There's to much Armstrong , great video, Thanks Jeff
Have you thought about reviewing the gearwrench locking flex head ratcheting wrench set?
Ill be doing a series on locking and non locking flex head ratchet wrenches, very soon, stay tuned!!

the Williams big disc lever does make the box end look longer, its no longer than the tekton though!!! the 15 degree bends are identical on both brands!!!
williams almost looks like a gun metal
Very similiar papa!! very nice looking!!
They are both great!
Thanks for the video Jeff!

Both sets are nice, the servicable williams ratchets are a nice feature, you dont see many like that!!! thanks my friend for your thoughts!!
Both sets are great looking it is interesting Williams has different tooth counts. I do like the serviceable heads. Thanks Jeff great information

Yes!!! its very nice well thought out and quality!! thanks my friend for bringing that to attention, your the reason i bought it!!

I’ve got Williams impact USA made sockets but I think on this the Teton is better since both are taiwan
