I make a similar smoothie … add mint TO the blend and it brings out the yummy flavors. I make 40oz as a daily challenge and have a healthy dinner if I’m still hungry. Another key is to have a home made ginger shot for a wake up am boost. Fat is melting off! Not muscle!
My recipe is water, plant based organic protein powder, golden flax, matcha green powder, cacao, fresh ginger, cuke, spinach, banana, frozen wild blueberries and mango😋
I am going to start doing them s3veral times per week if not daily. 75% deep green leafy veggies like kale or spinach, 25% whoke organic frozen berries or fruit, and a couple of teaspoons flax and/or chia seeds.
It’s not green but…Strawberries, blackberries, redcurrants, blackcurrants, broccoli, kale, spinach, banana, flaxseeds, chia seeds, sunflower seeds, hemp powder. Water. Is that a decent recipe or should I change it? Add lemon? I tried ginger but it was a bit strong in taste. Will beetroot taste weird?
Spinach & Swiss chard are really high in oxalates. If you make this recipe often you’ll likely end up with kidney stones or other problems from the oxalates…
If you use spinach & Swiss chard, as a part of your smoothie, regularly, organic lemon juice which increases urine citrate can prevent and dissolve kidney stones.
@3:42 Why not psyllium husk? If you only use a small amount (half a teaspoon) it makes your smoothies super thick and filling. I like eating mine with a spoon with some added nuts or hemp seeds.
The key is have more veggies then fruits in your smoothie. I do 3 veg and 2 fruit or 4 veg and 2 fruit with water and always chia seed as well for extra fiber.

Here is what is is in a nutshell. Any fruit and or vegetable blend that is mass produced and bottled up is not a healthy choice. The part where they are losing nutrients is a two part truth. The actual truth to focus on is the word "pasteurized". That word is 2 truths in one. Once when juiced and is heated, then bottled or canned, the nutrients has been dramatically reduced. They can be still good for you, but the other problem is the added sugar. Yes, I do drink low sodium V8 as it is convenient, but blending up a green smoothie is the ultimate way to go. Never add anything processed like you see people adding specialized powders that promises a so called nutrient boost. When ever you prepare a smoothie, it is best to not let it sit no more than 48 hours because the chemical make up of nutrients began to break down due to the fact that everything organic deteriorates over time. End the end, I will give you an idea of a combination to blend... 3-4 cups of Spinach, 10 table spoons of FRESH lemon juice from the actual lemon, 1 medium or large banana one granny smith apple, 1/4 of a medium or large avocado and 2/3 cup of water. More water can be added. You see, when it comes to a green smoothie, the smoothie must be a vibrant green. The greener a smoothie, the healthier it is especially for diabetics.
I use watermelon, 1 lemon, 1 cutie orange. power greens, strawberries ,blackberries, raspberries, 4oz of power green juice that I make, 2 tablespoons each of l. Reuteri yogurt, l. Gasseri yogurt, tremella, chia seeds and sea moss. Try to use organic if you can.
My smoothie has water as the base, an organic vegan protein power from Costco called Orgain, raw spinach, broccoli, and kale with cinnamon. Is it sweet? He'll no it's not sweet!!! But it is healthy and makes me feel strong. I drink it a few times a week when I don't feel like cooking the vegetables.
I've been looking into healing my gut as well as improving my overall diet [and therefore, health]. I've seen Psyllium recommended a bunch, but what is the best way to take or consume psyllium/ psyllium husks?
I use 2 cups of spinach, 1 egg, half a cucumber, almond milk, plain Greek yogurt and a quarter scoop of some protein powder that’s is plant based to sweeten it up:it’s a non sugary powder. It’s great.
Smoothies often deliver too much, too fast. Definitely a good choice if you have dental issues, but whole food is a better option if you can chew. Unfortunately a blender can quickly become worthless, if you are not making smoothies.
Since a few of the ingredients of the smoothie is restricted for individuals with CKD because of high potassium and phosphorus content such as the spinach , chard, and bananas.. What are the alternatives recommend for individuals on a renal diet who wish to include the smoothie for the health benefits? As I've yet to see a smoothie recommend for people with Kidney Disease!
I've seen some people using a strainer to separate the 'pulp/fibers' from the juice.. what are your thoughts on that? does it do any harm drinking it directly from the blender without straining??
Exactly and that can cause bloating to some! That’s why sometimes you might not feel Great after eating …. Let’s say broccoli…. Not everything is for everyone l, nutrition is a matter of curiosity and adaptation
If you want more fiber, it's more effective to take more greens and fruits than some little seeds. You really shouldnt worry at all about your fiber if you eat/drink regullary smoothies or just eat a lot of raw food in general.
Absolutely! Whole fruits, veggies, and greens provide a wide range of fiber along with essential vitamins and minerals. While seeds can be a convenient boost, a diet rich in raw foods generally covers fiber needs well. Do you have a favorite smoothie or raw meal to get your daily fiber?
@DrTazMD Yes ofcourse. One day I take a green one:250grams spinach, bananas, figs, kiwi, lemon. And the other day something on a base of 200grams dates and 350 grams bananas plus berries or nature choclate or vanilla or what ever I like. 😋
It’s a myth think about it , if you eat veggies and fruits separately it all goes one place in your stomach to be digested and from personal experience I blend vegetables and fruits I’ve been doing it for years I haven’t had a problem , so I don’t know where this myth came from .
Ready-made green juices and smoothies are usually total crap, just half a pint of sugary pineapple juice or concentrated apple juice and one leaf of spinach or kale. As someone who tries to keep their carbs under 20g/day I only ever make my own.
When I go to Mexico, I go to market to the juice stand they one that is call jugo verde that stands for green juice the base is Orange juice real one the alovera nopal captus spinash green apple and alfalfa. for 3 dollars a gallon all make nTurraly on front of you.

uh oh, I need to change my ingredients then because I am guilty of adding both to the same smoothie 😢
How many times a week should you consume a smoothie such as this one?
I do all greens vegetables spinach kale broccoli parsley and brussel sprout no fruits like a real man
Why do we need to add fiber to something that has Swiss Chard which has tons of fiber?
My smoothie has water as the base, an organic vegan protein power from Costco called Orgain, raw spinach, broccoli, and kale with cinnamon. Is it sweet? He'll no it's not sweet!!! But it is healthy and makes me feel strong. I drink it a few times a week when I don't feel like cooking the vegetables.
awesome
What about using the frozen ones?
I make my own green juice and consume it same day. I dont leave it overnight.
good
Can people with estrogen dominance & hypothyroidism eat raw kale & spinach? Shall we cook them before blending them? Please advise 🙏
An MD telling you to add collagen powder 🤔
yup
Trying to combat diabetes. I read now that the fiber is destroyed in the blending process and its like drinking juice
Can I cure candida and sibo with long juice fasting?
I've been looking into healing my gut as well as improving my overall diet [and therefore, health]. I've seen Psyllium recommended a bunch, but what is the best way to take or consume psyllium/ psyllium husks?
I get the opposite effect - constipation from too much fiber. I have to consume a tea that eases constipation.
Is green smoothie a fructose?
Why was psyllium husk a disaster in the smoothie?
I use 2 cups of spinach, 1 egg, half a cucumber, almond milk, plain Greek yogurt and a quarter scoop of some protein powder that’s is plant based to sweeten it up:it’s a non sugary powder. It’s great.
I read that it can be bad to mix fruits with vegetables. Is that true?
Hi
it can be hard to digest the two together- if you are having candida and yeast issues- better to separate
I always pop 3 raw eggs in my morning smoothie for protein
can you freeze the juice after blending for later use? or will that bring down the nutrients?
you can- maybe a bit lower
Can you use a regular blender ?
yea!
I was at vitality bowl every other day and my a1c hit PD
What was the size of your bowls you were using
Smoothies often deliver too much, too fast. Definitely a good choice if you have dental issues, but whole food is a better option if you can chew.
Unfortunately a blender can quickly become worthless, if you are not making smoothies.
I use spinach kale chard flaxseed bananas mangos grapes and water as a base ...75% greens 25% fruit
Cook and blanch those greens first (even for as little as 1 minute) to avoid oxalate buildup.
We are not buying concentrated juices from a store. More like homemade.
Lemon for the bad things in kale and spinach? If so in how much? Thanks
How about veggie powder such as kale or beets?
i add a lot of psilium husk can i asj whts wrong doing this?
Since a few of the ingredients of the smoothie is restricted for individuals with CKD because of high potassium and phosphorus content such as the spinach , chard, and bananas.. What are the alternatives recommend for individuals on a renal diet who wish to include the smoothie for the health benefits? As I've yet to see a smoothie recommend for people with Kidney Disease!
Mixed baby greens, kale mango green apple
Use romain green , search leafy greens with lower levels CKD Patients have charts normally
I've seen some people using a strainer to separate the 'pulp/fibers' from the juice.. what are your thoughts on that?
does it do any harm drinking it directly from the blender without straining??
no it does not do any harm
Your my new MD girl 😁👍🏻
They are high in oxalates.
What are those?
@@Melly16yr10 Oxalates - also known as oxalic acid - is a naturally-occurring compound in plants.
Exactly and that can cause bloating to some! That’s why sometimes you might not feel
Great after eating …. Let’s say broccoli…. Not everything is for everyone l, nutrition is a matter of curiosity and adaptation
Agreed
exactly that, and goitrogens
I use unsweetened almond milk and just one small squirt of liquid stevia.
Can you explain the loss of nutrients please?
Great video
I use 1-2 tbs kale powder and broccoli powder
Im starting to hear people say it’s not safe to mix fruits and vegetables in a smoothie . Is that true?
Is it true or a myth?
It’s a myth think about it , if you eat veggies and fruits separately it all goes one place in your stomach to be digested and from personal experience I blend vegetables and fruits I’ve been doing it for years I haven’t had a problem , so I don’t know where this myth came from .
@@lamarrussell2682 - It's BS.
Can you use unsalted peanuts instead of the Seeds.
not quite the same effect but can try for sure
MAJOR difference in the glucose sugar that comes from whole fruits and the fructose that comes from processed sugars or that are in fruit juices
Ready-made green juices and smoothies are usually total crap, just half a pint of sugary pineapple juice or concentrated apple juice and one leaf of spinach or kale. As someone who tries to keep their carbs under 20g/day I only ever make my own.
Thank you, God bless you.
you are welcome
