      You forget to mention a staggering important fact. Kale, Spinach & Swiss Chard are all riddled with oxalates, especially when you go and turn them in to a smoothie. In fact, those three contain more oxalates that any other fruit or vegetable. And you're a doctor??? 🤣

    Thank you so much. Originally, I thought this was going to be based, but you have credibility and I've been hearing how people overdue homemade smoothies just as buying the store-bought, since they are loaded down with sugar, but you informed us that when they sit on the shelf, even when refrigerated, the nutrient quality of those store-bought smoothies go down. I just got back from doing grocery shopping, and I took a leap of faith and decided not to buy the store-bought since I make them at home anyway, and I want to do them right. It is said that there is a right way to do something, and there is a wrong way to do it, and you have proved that. Since I do have a health challenge, I look at my diet as a lifestyle change for life, not for the short-term and the quick fix. There is so much wrong information out there, and we all owe it to ourselves to discern good information from bad information. Thank you so much.

    I stick to only one fruit to avoid the sugar overload, but I go all the way with the greens: brussel sprouts, broccoli, Spanish, carrot, ginger(a piece of ginger block the veggie taste), chia seeds, flax seed, a banana or berries.

    Also im getting sick of fruit being treated as some junk food that raises sugar levels, like everyone says it as if its a bad thing, I think having more fruit is good, and i dont think it should be limited. Instead of limiting fruit its better to just limit junk/fruit juice.

    I avoid the dark greens like spinach, kale and chards. I used to have them in my smoothie everyday on weekdays for years and the oxolates caused an imbalance in my TSH levels. I dropped them and replaced it with romaine lettuce and the TSH levels came back within range.

    Please everyone listen to your body and understand too much of anything can be bad. The amount of oxalates in this proposed recipe is very high. If you do not process oxalates effectively due to a variety of reasons too much of these green smoothies can land you in the ER, just ask Liam Hemsworth who had to have emergency surgery after downing spinach based green smoothies to have a large oxalic stone removed from his kidney. Everyone is different and some people can process oxalates out of the body better than others. After doing green smoothies and fresh juicing for 6 months I got to the point where I have so much oxalates accumulation in my joints and soft tissue that I get tremendous joint pain that comes and goes, ringing in ears, random bouts of dizziness, and at times piss out sharp crystals, and of course kidney pain. Again listen to your body nobody cares about you as much as you do. So much of what we’re be told to eat is loaded with oxalates. If you go gluten free and decide to do gluten free bread and snacks that stuff is all made with high oxalate containing ingredients. “Plant based “ is thrown around like the holy grail, just understand Oreos,most of today’s processed junk foods are plant based, and proudly display it on the packaging….if you eat 99% of plants on earth they will kill or make you sick, it’s only the 1% that we can eat without immediate ill effects and gain some benefit, but oxalates, lecithins and other plant defense toxins can accumulate and cause long term damage. Just remember tobacco is plant based and has these same defense chemicals

    Natural sugar is needed in a complete diet, like pineapple, grapes, oranges etc. Added bleached white sugar is what you dont want to much of, those pre-prepped smoothies can usually have added sugar. So in the end your own blended smoothies are way better. ALSO make sure to eat a small healthy meal b4 ur smoothie as our stomach needs us to chew in order to properly digest.

    If you want more fiber, it's more effective to take more greens and fruits than some little seeds. You really shouldnt worry at all about your fiber if you eat/drink regullary smoothies or just eat a lot of raw food in general.

    • @DrTazMD
      @DrTazMD  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Absolutely! Whole fruits, veggies, and greens provide a wide range of fiber along with essential vitamins and minerals. While seeds can be a convenient boost, a diet rich in raw foods generally covers fiber needs well. Do you have a favorite smoothie or raw meal to get your daily fiber?

    • @PaulaSays123
      @PaulaSays123 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @DrTazMD Yes ofcourse. One day I take a green one:250grams spinach, bananas, figs, kiwi, lemon.
      And the other day something on a base of 200grams dates and 350 grams bananas plus berries or nature choclate or vanilla or what ever I like. 😋

    Here is what is is in a nutshell. Any fruit and or vegetable blend that is mass produced and bottled up is not a healthy choice. The part where they are losing nutrients is a two part truth. The actual truth to focus on is the word "pasteurized". That word is 2 truths in one. Once when juiced and is heated, then bottled or canned, the nutrients has been dramatically reduced. They can be still good for you, but the other problem is the added sugar. Yes, I do drink low sodium V8 as it is convenient, but blending up a green smoothie is the ultimate way to go. Never add anything processed like you see people adding specialized powders that promises a so called nutrient boost. When ever you prepare a smoothie, it is best to not let it sit no more than 48 hours because the chemical make up of nutrients began to break down due to the fact that everything organic deteriorates over time. End the end, I will give you an idea of a combination to blend... 3-4 cups of Spinach, 10 table spoons of FRESH lemon juice from the actual lemon, 1 medium or large banana one granny smith apple, 1/4 of a medium or large avocado and 2/3 cup of water. More water can be added. You see, when it comes to a green smoothie, the smoothie must be a vibrant green. The greener a smoothie, the healthier it is especially for diabetics.
