I just wanted to say thank you for achknowledging that you didn't know that designers pronouns. As a trans nonbinary knitter, I find knitting spaces, whilst not often deliberately othering, spaces that don't often acknowledge me as welcome. You taking the time to be specific and acknowledge gender variance within the community means more to me than I can say. You've made me feel welcome and seen and included. Thank you so much, it really means a lot to see attitudes like yours. And I can tell from your movement towards supporting size inclusive designers that you are a person who lives out when they say they believe. You've made my day.
You are MOST welcome here. My hope is to be as inclusive as possible to all the beautiful ways that humans move through their lives. I have so much to learn still (I will forever be a wip) , and no doubt will make errors along the way. Always feel free to call me in if something I say doesn't sit right with you. And thank you for watching and leaving this lovely feedback, it made my day xo
Hello from Colorado! I'm new to your podcasts and can only aspire to knit beautiful projects like the ones that you have finished. With your inspiration, who knows! Your podcast is like a breath of fresh air and I enjoy many of the same things that bring you joy. Thank you for being you!
The storm outside is such a vibe. So relaxing. Your sweet, quiet voice only makes that better. Also taking a screenshot to capture such a beautiful color palette on the screen! Thanks for your videos. I just found you and I’m so enjoying the sound of your voice while I’m working or knitting.
My mum had similar radioactive iodine for overactive thyroid. But now she has to also take thyroxin to get her thyroid levels to appropriate level. Having regular thyroid blood tests (every 2 months) are vital to ensure you're not taking too much or too little of the thyroxin. Best wishes, great channel ❄️🌼🍃
How wonderful that you are from Moncton! I knew you were acadian like me, but didn’t know we were born at the same place. I love New p-Brunswick and love to visit my cousin in Bouctouche whenever possible. I also suffer from hypothyroid and have been under medication for years. So i understand how you feel. Take good care of yourself and indulge in things you love doing. I just love everything you knit! Big hugs to Marcel ♥️
Ha!! I love it! I’m one of the You Tube tutorials on the crocheted on wire covers! LOL!! It helps me identify my charger cable from my kids’ charger cables. They can’t claim they didn’t swipe MY charger cable! 😂😂😂
Love your podcasts. I have learned so much about different types of yarn. FYI...I have the same I pod and have my entire CD collection on it! It's old fashioned at this point, but I don't care. I'm keeping it.😊
I always look forward to your videos. They are little treasures to savor at the end of the day. I, too, love neutrals, and you inspire me with your yarn choices and patterns. I remember singing our introductory song in a choir so many years ago, and it was wonderful to hear it again. Thank you for sharing your very lovely voice with us! Take care.
No, you can't say your brain doesn't work and then show us all of your exquisite knits! 😊 I love to hear how you are doing and what you've been working on. Your singing was lovely!
Thank you so much Nicole as always i enjoyed your podcast so much. I share your love of soft neutral colours and your Yell cardigan is absolutely beautiful. The colours you have chosen are truly perfect and look forward very much to seeing the finished cardigan.
Nicole, I've watched this video a few times, to see all of your beautiful knits! I love everything you make! I too planned on knitting the Yell Cardigan by Marie Wallin. I bought her 'Shetland' book over a year ago and have been collecting my Jamieson and Smith yarns. Would love to know the colors you used! Your's is so beautiful, with the subtle colors! You've inspired me to make or should I say copy many of your makes! I hope you don't mind! They say that copying someone is a form of flattery! Anyway, I appreciate all that you share! Thank you so Much!
Thank you so much Nicole !
I loved the podcast and all the content of beautiful yarns and projects. But, I am sitting in 31 degree heat (at ten o'clock at night) and was just fascinated by the brewing storm. How exciting to be having such weather. Thank you for the experience.
Your videos give me such pleasure...I could listen to you all day. Please continue to make these videos when you can. I hope you feel better soon...that must be so challenging. Hang in there.
I am French Canadian so I just loved your story. I have been knitting and crocheting shawls and crowls for gifts. I live in America and since I am 67 I stay home as much as possible. I have been tested for the virus and I am thankful I did not have it. The city I live in had very high winds Monday and throughout the city several trees were destroyed.
I also really enjoy sweaters, cardigans and vest that are shaped in that kind of way. It's like you said, it hugs your neck and schoulders :) ! It made me think of one of my first sweaters I knitted: Flaum by Justyna Lorkowska. It a type of vest and it has a really interesting construction, you would really like it I think :) . Thank you for your podcast, I really enjoy your episodes a lot! (I am learning so many new things)
J’ai bien hâte de voir ton Great Love Cardigan qui a déjà l’air très confortable malgré que tu dises que la laine est assez rustique. Tous tes projets sont inspirants! Merci de prendre le temps de partager!
So good to catch up with your projects and what you are up to! Your ideas and approaches to knitting are so inspiring to me. That Marie Wallin sweater has been on my queue for so long I need to source my yarns and get going on it soon. Continue taking good care of your self.
Oh Nicole, what a lovely podcast, I love all your knits. I want to knit them all, especially the cardigans. And the song! My father in law's family is Acadian, from Nova Scotia. I have never been there and never had a chance to meet them. Thank you for sharing the song and the history behind it. Take care.
Thank you for showing all your beautiful projects yet again ! Although I live in England now, I come from Brittany and my grandmother taught me that song when I was two or three, it always reminds me of her and her smiley face. Thank you. A beautiful rendition. It was also really interesting to know what it came to mean to French Canadians. Very cool 🌿
A la claire fontaine 🥰🥰🥰🥰😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘 from France i love this song and your voice is beautiful and for th acadians i discovered last year (2019) the acadian’s history during a trip to the quebec.
So glad you are getting your thyroid medicine! People really don't understand the importance of the thyroid and how an under functioning thyroid can impact every system in your body!
I love your videos! You have just the right tone to knit by, like sitting in the kitchen with a friend talking. And your projects are lovely and very inspirational! Was planning my first visit to maritime Canada this month and I even got my husband to finally get a passport but 2020 put the kebash to that 😞 I sure hope next year that plan can happen and I can visit your part of the world.
Thank you for another lovely episode. Love catching up with your inspiring knits. Good luck with getting your thyroid medication balanced and getting back to the woods
I love to see Lismore Sheep farm on a podcast! It's the most local yarn producer to me and a few years ago I purchased 50 skeins for natural dyeing. Those skeins are all dyed up now & I'm currently working on a Felix cardigan and a Lemongrass pullover in it. Beautiful, crunchy yarn.
You always inspire me Nicole and I completely understand how you feel about your Fairisle cardigan, the anticipation and excitement you get from a knit like this 😊
i think that you are an artisan and i have just discovered your channel, you are so pure and all that you knitted are so beautiful beyond words. that shawl at 28:44 took my breath away, i love clothing and i love how it is sewn and i love the materials and the details on it. at 56:19 that colour combination of white and grey and that pattern is so beautiful.
What a sweet song. I think it serves very well as your new intro! I hope you continue to feel better. I have to take thyroid hormone too and it does take a little while to get back to normal. ❤️
Your opening song is just beautiful! You are so very talented. I love seeing all of the things you have made or are working on --- you have such an eye for color. Enjoyed every minute of this video! Thank you for taking the time to make it and share.
So happy to find you and add you to my new knitting podcast obsession (a covid gift). Thanks for the affordable yarn tip. As old as I am, I'm new enough to this craft that I still finding my way paring the right yarn and pattern I recently moved back to Cajun country in Louisiana where I moved to some 30 years ago. Love reconnecting to friends and the culture.
While listening to the intro, I kept thinking is that her, no way, oh I think that’s her. Lovely just like you. I’m always so glad to see a new video is up from you, it’s one of the things I’m thankful for in these crazy times. I always love everything you make.
J’adore la nouvelle intro! Étant aussi acadienne, la chanson me touche particulièrement. Merci! C’est une chanson qu’on fredonnait souvent dans notre enfance. 💕
Beautiful opening and the song is enchanting! I recently found your podcast and I am catching up on your previous videos. Your Textured Shawl is stunning. I just downloaded the recipe and now I am super excited to get started. I live in Florida, so most of my shawls are quite lacy, but my cold weather self is craving cozy comfort. Thank you so much for the inspiration.
I have a store bought cardigan that has that same construction as the Girlfriend cardigan and found I wear it all the time because it fits so well. Now I look for that construction in knitting patterns all the time. I have square shoulders and don't like to have my neck bare, so it seems to be a perfect shaped cardigan. Your girlfriend cardigan is beautiful! The loveliest of podcast, as always. Thank you for sharing.
I really enjoy your new intro!! You have a lovely voice! And I love all your projects! Especially the colour palette of your Yell cardigan, it's going to be so beautiful and totally fitting to you!!
Just found your podcast and really liked it. Funny enough, I've been dealing with Graves' Disease since my early 20s, so going on 20 years now. I, too, opted for RAI and while it takes awhile to start feeling better, you WILL start feeling better :-)
Omg ! I love your introduction! Love your singing .had to subscribe.. yeah sending you some prayers I too suffer from thyroid called Greaves Disease.🤪 Managing is the worst for me up and down , Tired and pain in the shoulders and I know I have to go back and get my thyroid in check . Four years dealing with it . Here’s a book might help ; Brave New Medicine by Cynthia Li MD. Enjoy !
Oh my good, your Intro is such a pleasure to hear 🎶.I am very happy to find your podcast( i was searching some details to Start my Yell.)It will be my first fair isle Projekt and now i am Not worried about it.Thank you🧶👍lovely greetings from Germany Silke
Your knitting is lovely and so is your voice! Your intro is perfect. I’m sorry you are having health issues. I’ve had thyroid problems for the last 15 years so I know how difficult it can be. Medicine does help.So enjoy your videos.
I really, really enjoyed your thought process which took you to your final choices on the Marie Wallen cardigan. I thought all your swatches were gorgeous, until you talked through why you didn’t choose that particular one. I adored your final choices. I like those faded out colors as well. I’m a real beginner, but my motivation to continue throughout my many mistakes is to be able to do one of Marie Walden’s sweaters and have it turn out as beautifully as yours. Thanks for the inspiration.
@@cherylclough4309 thank you Cheryl for your sweet messages. It's encouraging to know that you also found relief with thyroid meds. And I'm happy to hear that my Yell ramblings made some sense. A lot of this type of knitting is trial and error, and just trying different things till the "right" combo appears. It's definitely part of the appeal for me. xo
I love the song and the singing. I really love all the ceramic cups too! We the occasion fits, I talk to students about the origins of Cajans and connecting to Acadia. (A Canadian in Austin, TX). I also had thyroid issues (I actually had cancer and my thyroid is removed). What a pain. Just as long as you get your meds set right, you should be ok. I love all your knitting.
As soon as I heard your singing intro, I knew it was your beautiful voice. It’s just perfect. Don’t ever apologise for liking what you like. You must make things that you enjoy and everyone has their own taste. All your makes are so lovely and feminine. Beautiful podcast as ever. Sorry to hear about your challenging health issues. 😊
thanks so much for recomending the West Coast Colour Yarn Co. i love their aesthetic and way of life/shepherding that i purchased some natural chocolate worsted yarn. i love supporting small farms and an eco way of life. love the new intro! i also agree about making simple projects that really let the yarn stand out but every once in a while i also crave a color work project. it takes a while bc you really have to be in a certain head space for it. Beautiful Faire Isle sweater!
I have an under active thyroid for 22years and haven’t felt right since although meds help still get bouts of exhaustion in fact have it just now and can’t b bothered feeling hope u get better soon love ur knits greetings from edinburgh
So nice to see you again, Nicole! The funniest thing happened - right after you said we probably enjoy the same type of projects, you hold up your Great Love cardigan - I am currently knitting the Big Love, which is the cropped version of Great Love, in a yarn that is almost the same color!!
SO lovely to see you and i thoroughly enjoy listening to you and seeing your joy and appreciation of beautiful yarn and both simple and intricate projects. Thank you so much Nicold. 🥰
Fantastic new intro Nicole. You have a lovely voice! Thank you for a wonderful episode - lots of patterns and yarn to add to my wish list. I love all your projects, especially your fair isle cardigan. Your color choices are beautiful. I am so glad to hear your health is improving. You certainly look well. Take care.
Your voice and energy are so soothing and relaxing. I need to watch you during the day. Once again, I fell asleep listening to your beautiful voice. Thank you for the visit.
That was a beautiful intro song and I was so happy to hear it was your own voice! :) What a great solution to that - very soothing and personal in a special way. As always, I loved every one of your projects and each inspired me in a different way for my own work. I also really love your studio space there behind you. Thanks for catching us up and happy knitting with all that glorious wool! :)
So nice to see you here and I love the new intro. You have a gentle lovely voice. I've been on synthroid fit about 20 years. I have, as well, a number of seemingly unrelated health problems - asthma, arthritis, seasonal allergies, leg cramps, and ulcerative colitis. I'm an old hippy who hates taking endless medications. Today I'm getting an earthing sheet to ground me at night. Sounds whacky but I'm fed up and willing to try something woo-woo! I'll let you know how it goes. It is supposed to eliminate inflammatory conditions, which all of these are. Sorry for being weird but hate to think anyone is going through all these autoimmune diseases. The movie that set me on this path is called Earthing.
Hello lovely...always enjoy my visits here with you. You inspire me in multiple ways, but mostly your openness and light spirit. I'm such a fan of ANKESTRiCK designs, so I appreciate seeing your gorgeous version (as an aside, you were right about bust size, the pattern goes up to 56")
Thank you for the always inspiring, peace filled podcast. I always love your color choices and projects. AND of COURSE you have the voice of an angel. So much talent and beauty in one person! ;)

I love all your knitting.
the intro music is amazing! you made my day with this beautiful a cappella song
Such a beautiful and peaceful voice.
Merci pour le merveilleux épisode Nicole! Tu es trop inspirante... J'adore tout ce que tu as montré !
Your voice is beautiful! It is so good to see you again and I absolutely love the muted blush colors used in your cardigan and shawl!
Thank you Marie, I admire your beautiful sense of style so your comment means a lot!
SO lovely to see you and i thoroughly enjoy listening to you and seeing your joy and appreciation of beautiful yarn and both simple and intricate projects. Thank you so much Nicold. 🥰
Thank you Ellen for watching! xo
Take care.
Thank you Leslie for your sweet message!
Your voice and energy are so soothing and relaxing. I need to watch you during the day. Once again, I fell asleep listening to your beautiful voice. Thank you for the visit.
Lol, it's weird to say, but I like that my podcast puts you to sleep :)
What a lovely message! Thank you for watching and for taking the time to write xoxo
A wonderful jam-packed episode 😊 Your knits are so inspiring and beautiful, and I loved hearing you sing!!
Love your voice singing at the beginning. You have an angelic singing voice.
Aw, blushing. Thank you xo
Hello lovely...always enjoy my visits here with you. You inspire me in multiple ways, but mostly your openness and light spirit. I'm such a fan of ANKESTRiCK designs, so I appreciate seeing your gorgeous version (as an aside, you were right about bust size, the pattern goes up to 56")
Tellement agréable de passer du temps en ta compagnie ! Tes projets sont magnifiques, comme toujours, et très inspirants. Merci
Thank you for the always inspiring, peace filled podcast. I always love your color choices and projects. AND of COURSE you have the voice of an angel. So much talent and beauty in one person! ;)
I have my headphones in. I heard your wind pick up and started looking around, I thought it was here. 😂
