I admire all of you in joining together, by using the wearing of this shawl simultaneously, to simbulise the cohesiveness of the love of knitting. The colors are very soothingly.
The Gentle Knitter made me do it...I cast on a Half + Half wrap after watching your podcast. I went to purl soho website but I'm just too overwhelmed with all those colors available and couldn't decide. So, like you, I cast on using stash yarn. I'm so happy with my project and it is delicious. Your colors are just gorgeous...both your finished and your new one. I will have to have serious restraint to not have fomo and make a second like yours.
You & your podcast are always like a much needed breath of fresh air. I actually watched this episode twice because there's so many pretty & interesting projects that you're working on. Also, your gentle ways bring great comfort to me. I really can't thank you enough for sharing your time with us. Thinking only good thoughts for you & yours!
I totally relate to your color aesthetic. While I enjoy seeing brightly colored yarns and projects, for myself I just love subtle, muted, understated tones...which is why I like your podcast so much! Thank you for another beautiful, relaxing episode.
I was only thinking yesterday about when you would next do a podcast, and to my joy here you are! It is always great to see your various knitting projects and you have such a similar colour choice as my own which makes it even more enjoyable. I love muted tones too. The birthday gift was such a generous surprise and I am sure you will enjoy spinning it and making a stunning garment from it. I hope you will soon be out of your lockdown. Here in the UK everything is easing up now and restrictions are gradually being lifted. I am a home lover and am quite happy in my own environment but it would be wonderful at times to have a much missed hug! Take care Nicole until we see you again.
I enjoyed this the second time as much as the first. Thanks for recommending the Linen Quill shawl. I'm casting on right now. Blue and gray. Can't wait to finish!
I love wearing dark blue and black together! Whoever decided that those two colors don’t go together? Lol. People wear blue jeans and black shirts right? I digress. That shawl is beautiful!!
I'm also so in love with the Linen Quill yarn. I made a swatch holding it together with a silk mohair and it made the softest most amazing fabric so I definitely want to do something with that pair in the near future!
Thank you Nicole for another wonderful episode. I love the half and half shawl. When you showed the paper bags with writing, I knew exactly where it came from. Her fibre is amazing for sure!
Thank you so much for your five years of podcasting. You are my most favorite podcast and I always like to get out my knitting project and enjoy our one-way conversation. And since I am doing my first Fair isle colorwork, your advice could not be more timely.
Dear One: You have such exquisite blue eyes and lovely coloring that your selection of colors for your half & half wrap is simply perfect! On the screen, the grey looks like a pale blue, the same color as your eyes. Thank you for your kind words about me. I am always inspired by YOUR color selections and pattern choices. I think you have wonderful taste. Hoping you will be able to visit NYC someday soon and we can have a knitting pow wow at my place.xxDebbie
Oooo I did it finally! I am on the waiting list for a Moosie! And seriously loving your shawl and the scarf you are knitting, and the simple soothing colors. And, you are sooo soothing! We had a thunderstorm here and two years ago our house was hit by lightening, so I find myself struggling now during thunderstorms, and you Nicole, are a wonderful wonderful distraction. Calm and lovely woolly goodness was just what I needed. Thank you ❤️🥰
I'm watching and can't keep my eyes off of the brown paper bags with white writing in the background cause I know that what's inside is probably gorgeous!
I love your Half and Half and your Mystic Square. I'll be adding both to my list. I'm excited to see your finished entrelac pullover. Have a lovely day. 🌻
So lovely to see you again, Nicole. This episode is an absolute treat - thank you so much! I'm excited to pick yarn for my own Half and Half Shawl now. Much love to you from Scotland.💜
As always, a lovely podcast and inspiring makes. I’m adding the half and half wrap to my to do list . I always watch your podcast with a notebook and pen and the list is getting longer . Love your dress too . Thank you
I enjoy your podcast so much. Your intro with the singing and all the lovely things in your home just speaks to me. I so wish to see more of your home someday-it looks so inviting! I’d love to knit that Half and Half shawl so will look it up.
So wonderful catching up with you again, I’m so inspired to try the half & half, I’ve only just started Knitting shawls and it’s right up my street! Thank you for another lovely episode! Xxx
So much yarnie goodness! I think the sweater took the cake, it looks SO cozy. Can’t wait to see how your anniversary batt turns out, those colors are amazing.
Just beautiful! Everything you make is so well thought out and lovely! Once again, I really enjoyed your podcast and I can’t wait to see the socks you make with your hand spun yarn!
So good to catch up with you Nicole. I just love everything that you show and want to knit them all myself .... I just need the days to be 48 hours! Thanks for another gentle video, just what is needed in present times. Best wishes from Wales.
Your Half and half triangles wrap look gorgeous! I recently finished my too, and also used two modification that you had mention. I am really happy with result.
Thank you for another beautiful relaxing podcast. You were just what I needed in the midst of these stressful times. I have been inspired to cast on a half and half shawl and have ordered yarn for it. I think it will be a lovely knit. Take care 😍
Thank you for showing us your James n. Watt mystic square top. I like it in subdued noro neutrals . If the podcasters did not showcase patterns I wonder how we keep up with pattern debut. Thank you a bunch nice podcast.
Bonjour Nicole! This podcast was a real delight and so relaxing to watch: "la cerise sur le sundae" ;-) (the cherry on the sundae). Thank you for sharing your ideas, sources and patterns.
What a beautiful episode - that half amd half wrap is EVERYTHING. I try not to get talked into new patterns too often from podcasts because I have so many backlogged projects... but I think I have to add that wrap to the queue in the near future, it looks so cozy and perfect ❤️. Plus I don't have any wraps.
Loved everything you showed and shared. Must remember to have a pen and pad to write everything down you recommend. Love your mug. Keep well. All the best.
Hi, I found your podcast about half a year ago and totally fell in love with it. Your voice is so calming, I absolutely love the colours you choose for your projects since I'm a neutral tones lover as well. :D And! Today I finally didn't forget to hit that subscribe and notification button, yaaay. :D :) Love from the Czech Republic
Black and blue is a great colour combination. I wear it all the time. I do love the colours of your wool they are so restful! I got my first vaccine on Thursday and can’t wait to get the second one…in 3 months 😪. Here in Australia we are very lucky that we have no cases though we can’t leave or enter the country without permission. Still, it’s a small price to pay for an almost normal life. I just love your podcast and look forward to it so much. Good luck with the vaccine and hope the situation improves and you get out of lockdown soon.
So lovely to see you and catch up with all your wonderful makes, love your gentle voice and descriptions and film of your forest walk is a joy ...keep safe and hopefully vaccines will bring freedom very soon for you all 👍☕💐
Dreamy spinning clip and fibre - since I've seen Lindsey's Artifacts of Appreciation's fibre with strands of color carded in , I've had the urge to try spinning. Also knitting on a Half Triangle Wrap - yours are both gorgeous. CadyJax (and you, Nicole!) have a lot to answer for - they and you have hooked me into a number of projects now, including a Knit Collage project!
I love your intro! I sing A la claire fontaine, all the time to my daughters! You have so many beautiful projects! So much fun to watch and listen to! Take care!
Dear Nicole, I missed you!! I am always so happy when my bell rings “dings” that you have posted another episode. You are my very first knitting podcast and through your tips, tricks, comments and suggestions I have learned so much about knitting and our little knitter’s world - thank you! I love the muted colors of your half and half scarf. Being in Europe, I have the opposite problem when sometimes wanting to order gorgeous yarn…. I would love to get my hands on some linen quill but cannot comfortably afford the extra shipping costs for an already somewhat pricier yarn. It was however very interesting to see yours up close and hear you describe it. I am looking forward to world borders opening sometime soon and being back “home” and maybe being able to try it. Great news with your vaccine! Stay well!!
Thank you for such a lovely podcast, such interesting projects you are doing. Just to let you know, I love the introduction to your podcast, it stops me and puts me in a peaceful place, so lovely. Also, I. decided to knit the Felix Cardigan you featured in episode 38, because I love how good it looked on you and I was in need of a simple cardigan. I have just started, with yarn from my stash which I've been wanting to use on a project that I would use a lot and I'm sure I will with this. So thank you for your inspiration.
Nicole, what a lovely surprise! I couldn't believe it this evening when I saw the notification that you'd uploaded - you have no idea how much I was longing for a virtual visit from you. Such a beautiful episode as always. Never change your love of neutrals, please! ; ) I'm also getting my first dose of vaccine this weekend so I share your feelings of excitement , relief and gratitude. Sending you lots of love and a virtual boop on the nose for Marcel. xx
Hi Nicole!! Lovely as always! You’ve inspired me to finally make a Half and Half Triangles Wrap. I wasn’t sure how else to reach you, but I wanted to share with you and anyone that might be interested a podcast I stumbled across. It is called Talasbuan and it originates from Sweden. It is about a lovely tiny family living out in the wilderness. No yarn, but aesthetically so beautiful and uplifting. Take care everyone!
Everyone else has already taken care of the niceties. So it is up to me to go for the superficial: The grey in your Half and half came across my screen as a hint of steely blue and was stunning with your eyes. Just that little pop showing! BTW, have you explored some of Sari Nordlund‘s older scarf patterns. You might enjoy them in your lovely muted color esthetic.
Your podcast is not only educational, informative, but your introduction is beautiful and calming. Thank you.
I admire all of you in joining together, by using the wearing of this shawl simultaneously, to simbulise the cohesiveness of the love of knitting. The colors are very soothingly.

Oh my goodness, those bats are amazing, so beautiful. Can't wait to see them knit up.
