Oh man! That Tahoe looks sooo much better from the first time you drove it back from Mike’s. Nice easy upgrades are very rewarding too. Thanks for another great video!
Been following since you got the Tahoeverlander project. I have a '99 4 door myself. You're so thorough and I always appreciate your videos! Thanks Jason!
This is why I love your videos. Dude out of 20 years of working on these trucks. I never knew you could take the headlights out like that. Always thought you had to remove the grill.
Thank you Jason! Did my lights a while ago and about to install my painless harness (working on other electrical issues before adding the headlights to the mix) but I have hated my turn signals as they needed the relays replaced. Wasn't something that was really on my radar but seeing this video and my own progress with electrical made me just order these today.
Recently purchased a CLEAN one-owner '95 Tahoe 2-door 4x4 in beautiful Emerald Green from the original buyer! First thing I did was purchase all-new exterior lenses and replacement LED bulbs. After wasting money on a couple relays other TH-camrs claimed would work to fix hyperflashing, I stumbled across your video. Swapping both the flasher and hazard relays to the ones you recommended was THE only fix. Literally solved all my issues. Thank you for the great videos, and keep up the Tahoe content! By the way, already ordered the Belltech shocks and I am cranking the OEM front keys just 1.5". Thanks for saving me money! 😁
Great upgrades to any older vehicle, i used the Painless wiring harness on my 2002 1500 Silverado with great results. Ditch to ditch light spread from low beams and down road forward lighting from the high beams . It made for a great setup.
I love LED upgrade lights, it’s so much of a no brainier shops no longer need to sell halogens…? Also, I would definitely crack on with the relay that keeps all four main headlights on full beam, more OE light, more safety at night! Keep up the good work dude, loving watching the trucks grow and develop!
Hi Jason, another cool video. I did LED swap on my Tahoe a couple of years ago and they're fantastic. Around same time, found a glass head lamp housing on Amazon and have no worries about lens getting hazy and yellowing. You gotta install that 4 lamp relay for the head lights. Well worth the time.
How's the beam pattern with the new LED's in the old housings? I've always read that LED's into halogen housings produce blinding beam patterns. Would love a follow up video showing the beams of all the upgrades. Cool video!
I was curious about the switching leds, I did the headlights but wasnt sure if I should get the running/blinker lights as well. But after this video I will be upgrading to them for sure. Thanks for the video!!
Nice upgrade on the LED lights. On the trim/bumper paint, I actually painted the grey bumpers on my PT with the same stuff and black as well, though I did more of a process, cleaning it with dish soap to remove any wax, spraying on a coating of adhesion promoter, then putting down the bumper paint. As for how long it lasts, well I've only done it twice in about 10 years, but for sure depends on how picky you are about the color (it will fade over time, and my experience in Michigan, not California).
I'm turning my old Tahoe into an overland vehicle. I just subscribed, so keep those video's coming! Also I used your Amazon store to buy the LED lights upgrade.
I liked, subscribed and rang the bell for all notifications.. love the channel.. I have a 99' Tahoe I've been working on. So when I wanna park the Ram occasionally.. Great job brother!!
Great video !!👍I recently took out my third deer with the front of mine 😖😖😖I'm gonna go ahead and replace everything, the headlight brackets also. Yours turned out great !!!👍
It needs to be said since it wasnt said in the video. You don't JUST buy 9005 and 9006 bulbs. You need 9005/HB3 and 9006/HB4 bulbs. All bulbs are not the same. Also I very much recommend the EP-36 relay. My truck started having hyper flash when the headlights were on and an occasional just fast flash when the aren't on. I cleaned all the sockets and checked the tail light boards and it was just a simple relay going bad after 30 years. I don't run LED's but the new EP-36 is much quieter and I get a more uniform blink which is a plus
Cool I was thinking about doing this to my 09 f150. My oem headlamps/taillights had so much chrome trim on them so I swapped those out for black euro headlights and oem SVT Raptor taillights in the back. I was on the fence about switching to LED bulbs but not anymore!
I could never get LED bulbs to work in the rear of my '96 Silverado so I got fed up with it after trying four different kinds of LEDs for the back brands that is. I eventually ended up ordering rear LED light fixtures from Spyder Auto and man they are super bright. I also purchased a light bar for underneath my tailgate and when I put reverse on after wiring up the reverse light it lights up at least 1 acre of my land because it is so bright. A lot of people love my tailgate stop light bar and they are amazed by how easy it was to install when I tell them. The only thing you have to do is plug it in to your towing light socket four prong but the reverse you have to hardwire into your reverse on one of your tail lights the closest one to the wires on the reverse light bar. Just a little tip for anybody that wants to use a stop light light bar underneath their tailgate. Usually the 3M tape that's on the back of that strip actually holds on very well as long as you have a couple of days to let the glue actually cure meaning you put it on and you can drive it around after installing it no problem but make sure it's not going to rain or you don't wash your vehicle for at least a couple of days to let the 3M tape bond to the truck and make sure you use some rubbing alcohol to clean the area and let it dry completely before you install the light strip so it will adhere a lot better.
I put those same bulbs in and in 2 of the sockets the contacts would not reach all the way. If you pushed them in they would light up but not in the locked position. I just built up the contact patch on the bulbs with solder to make them “stick out” a bit more. Inserted, twisted and locked and they worked perfect. Simple fix.
Hi. I have a 1993 Chevrolet Silverado K3500 6.5 Turbo Diesel. 4x4 regular cab. Thank you for the video. I was able to change all lightning in front of my truck to LED. I followed your video and purchased all you recommended. Everything works and looks great. Thank you. Just a quick note about my 4 way hazzard flashers. I did buy the EP28 and EP36. For some reason my 4 way flashers were at normal speed. I did not need to use the EP28 flasher relay. Perhaps this will help someone save $21 by not needing to buy. You definitely do need the EP36 turn signal flasher to stop hyperflashing. It worked well and turn blinkers operate at normal speed. So perhaps install some LEDs first and see if your 4 way hazzards flash at normal speed. Hopefully you can same some money. Also i have a question about the taillight brakelight bulbs you recommend. Are they red in color when lit? I thought a white light works better through a red lense. If you use a bulb with red light i will give it a try. Also the rear of your truck is showing amber or orange in video. Is that from the bulb or lenses? Please explain the rear lights of truck if you get a moment. You did a great job in your video. Thank you very much for sharing.
Dude i got the LED on the rear and put in new relay so i dont get fast flashing and when i back up my lights are damn near as bright as my headlights I LOVE IT
@@AutoEdits its a great motor hopefully there wont be any supply issues for you. i ordered mine right in the worst time. hay fyi a thing ive learned with mine when the 4wd actuator sticks dont get rid of the broken one take it apart and make it where there is no actuator so if it gets locked on you can have one to put on that wont work but doesnt leave a hole for dirt and grime to get into if you have to remove yours to get it out and get home without being in 4wd. or just keep a extra one in the back they aint that expensive.
Put in some of those "ballast" resisters. They flasher relay needs some resistance to work, if everything is LED it won't provide the current draw necessary to activate the flasher.
Dude!!! Awesome video! I know what I am doing to my GMT400 this month! Thank you! Question: The links for the 9005 and 9006 are no longer available. Were they part of the F-Series Auxbeam line?
Best thing I've done on my 97 c1500 was get glass head lights. even with the standard headlight bulbs the now clear lenses make a world of difference and other than getting broken they should stay clear and not frost over like the plastic ones. I also replaced the tail lights and the new red plastic if clearer and they seem brighter do to that. I was still having issues with some of the tail lights not working even though the bulbs were good and that seemed to be more from the "circuit board", for lack of a better term, not being snapped together well. When I pushed the tan board into the black backing board all of the bulbs started working and they haven't given me any issues in about 6 months. I usually think of the heat of incandescent tail light heat causing the issue, but it maybe that the heat causes the tan board to come lose from the black backing board more than actually the sockets enlarging and the bulbs get loose.
I wish there was a dual color 194 led bulb for the side markers. I can’t find one. Thinking about going led for my turn signals and side markers in my 94 Silverado. Just wish I could find a 194 that would be white like the turn signals and flash amber to match. But I guess amber will have to do while the lights are on. I still think it looks awesome. I’m going to replace the orange side markers with white frosted ones. Great detailed video.
I’m not positive but I believe amber side markers and front blinkers are required in the front of all vehicles. I’m sure someone will correct me if I’m wrong.
I really wish I could find a bumper like that for my 2000 Yukon Denali. It is such a weird year and body style to find stuff for. I think the mounts are the same but the grill and lights are different. Really need to find a clean OBS like that.
Hi a just ordered the auxbeam headlights thanks to you. I do have a follow up question for you. Are they still running good with no issues? And how loud are the fans?
This Video is great! Can't wait to upgrade. One thing, do you happen to have updated links to the Low AND High beam lights? Seems like the links are broken. Thank you I advance!!
Just found your channel. I’m in the process of swapping out my headlights and turn signals. The switchback lights are mint in those factory housings, love them! My question for you is the light output of the 9006-05 LED bulbs. They definitely look brighter but what does the beam pattern look like? The aftermarket ones I got when I bought my truck recently are garbage with no usable light. I want to go back to OEM housing but with LED bulbs instead of the halogens.
Man I did an LED swap on a 97 chevy and I ended when I got the bulbs in I had problems with certain bulbs being lit, mismatched bulbs when using the brake or depending on if your daytimes are on or headlights. I ended up getting new circuit boards, same thing, i snipped off the pigtail just today because the old one started to not work at all unless I put force behind it toward the circuit board. Also I already Che Jed my relays and fuses. I also have the ep29 relay under the dash for the hyper flash. The lights are atleast making a very good connection with my new pigtails, but on the driver side , the reverse light acts ass all of my back lights
How are the switchback bulbs holding up after a year? I have a 95 Suburban K1500. I am wondering if these bulbs would fit as well. The bottom connector looks different
This is a 1995 as well so they should be identical. The bulbs I installed are holding up great and I still love the switch from clear to amber during use.
Great video, i have a 96 tahoe, did headlights, turn signals and rear lights, then added the ep29 flash relay, everything works great but for some reason when running , lights on, the rear turn signals barely blink, what could cause that?
You are correct! I think I fixed it. www.amazon.com/dp/B07QC4FFPV?tag=onamzjasonlew-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B07QC4FFPV&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1FNPJI3AJKMXS
97 Chevy OBS c1500 related I’ve been chasing around this issue with my flashing hazard lights. When I press the brake pedal with the emergency lights activated; the flashers stop blinking & stay solid with my brake lights. After I let off the pedal, they continue to flash normally. I’ve replaced my flasher switch, I’ve changed relays, cleaned fuses and grounds and also replaced my brake 6-pin switch but I can’t come up with anything. Any ideas?
Thats just the way it is. Since there are no amber lights as the turn signals in the back, you really can't have the brake lights flash for hazards and then stay solid as brake lights.
Bro their truck looks beautiful man I'm a beautiful but I got to ask you a question where did you get that bumper at I need a bumper like that if you can please let me know I'd really appreciate it thank you sir do you have a back bumper like that too if you do please let me know I'm interested thank you
Hello again! I just switched out all my lights to LED’s and so far so good. The only thing is that they hum. Which doesn’t really bother me. Is there a quick fix? I can leave the humming if there will be no issue like catching my ride on fire or something. 😂 let me know thanks!!!
Where do you install the relay to turn both headlights on at the same time for high beam? And, which bulbs did you use for low beam and high beam since your Amazon link doesn't work for either of those? Also, did you use red or white led bulbs for the rear brake and running lights? because in your video...the bulbs you used had black plastic casings...not red or white like the ones in your Amazon link. Thanks
Hey Jason, do you think that Duplicolor Trim & Bumper paint would work well on some factory OEM JK fender flares? Mine are faded and Aerospace 303 only keeps them looking decent for about 2 weeks here in the Texas sun.
I followed your plan on my 2001 Tahoe. Headlights are amazingly bright! All work great except the driving lights/turn signal lights are not the old style twist in bulbs, but the newer clip in style. I had to order the JDM ASTAR Extremely Bright 3030 Chipsets White/Yellow 3157 3155 3457 4157 Switchback LED Bulbs with Projector For Turn Signal Lights. They work fine except not with the small side running lights. When I remove those side light bulbs the driving/signal lights work fine. So for now, I just left the small side running light bulbs out. Any suggestions for how to make the turn signal and side running lights work together? I did upgrade the combined flasher/signal relay with EP-29L I picked up at NAPA auto parts.
@@AutoEdits yes, I used the small auxbeam 194 led bulbs in the side markers and both sides exhibited the same issue. As soon as I took out the small side leds the signal lights worked fine. I tried putting the old incandescent bulbs in the side markers but got the same results as with the leds.
I had the exact same problem with that little bitty 194 side marker light in the front with my switchback lights and tried for nearly a year to figure out how to get those lights to work with the switchback and the only thing I saw online was I had to rewire my little 194 lights and ground those separately and it seemed like such a pain in the rear that I just left the little lights out and it does not bother me because the switchbacks are so bright you will not see that little light anyways. If anything else comes up are you find a solution let me know because I am in the same boat but not much of a big deal though.
Check the description for links to each of the items!
Dude, I' ma magnetize all of my screwdriver now! As soon as I get a cool magnet to do it.
If you have an old speaker, they work well
Great Video! I like the magnet trick, definitely going to use that one!

Having previously owned a 93 suburban, I highly recommend installing that painless kit for the headlights! TOTALLY worth it! You won't regret it!
Thanks for the tip!
The bewildering choices we have in automotive lighting nowadays staggers me. We're no longer confined to sealed-beam non-halogen lights as we were between about 1935 and 1975. The LED lights are my favourite for their decreased draw on the alternator. Mahalo for the tutorial!
That is a legit observation!
You just blew my mind with the screw driver tip. I knew you could magnetize it but didn't know it could be undone
Ha! Thanks!
Good Vid, when you put the screws back in the Driver side tail lamp... Hey Jason, Install that low high beam relay so your lights are on together. You won’t be disappointed. Definitely worth the effort.
Is that why they don’t turn on at the same time?
What relay do I need to get to have the low/high beam on together?
I spliced my wire an added a fuse housing
I will never understand why people use a relay when you can just use a diode at the harness which activates both relays.
Great video !!👍I recently took out my third deer with the front of mine 😖😖😖I'm gonna go ahead and replace everything, the headlight brackets also. Yours turned out great !!!👍

Dude I love this build makes me want to start one but these gas prices tho
For real!
I really wish I could find a bumper like that for my 2000 Yukon Denali. It is such a weird year and body style to find stuff for. I think the mounts are the same but the grill and lights are different. Really need to find a clean OBS like that.
Buckstop makes this exact bumper for your rig! www.buckstopinc.com/products.html
Hi a just ordered the auxbeam headlights thanks to you. I do have a follow up question for you. Are they still running good with no issues? And how loud are the fans?
Yes they are still great... and I can barely hear the fans over the engine standing outside the vehicle.
This Video is great! Can't wait to upgrade. One thing, do you happen to have updated links to the Low AND High beam lights? Seems like the links are broken. Thank you I advance!!
Hey thanks... when I get home later I check those links. That company has done that several times over the years... it's kinda frustrating.
@@AutoEditsseems like that company would enjoy that you made free advertising for them.

Hi Jason, I have a 2000 OBS Tahoe and i wasn’t able to locate my flasher relay 😢

lights look awesome! What size tires are you running?

Don't forget to refresh the interior lights.
Good call!
Hey man How were you able to get both led switch colors when you turn on your turn signals
That's the model light bulb I installed.
How are the switchback bulbs holding up after a year? I have a 95 Suburban K1500. I am wondering if these bulbs would fit as well. The bottom connector looks different
This is a 1995 as well so they should be identical. The bulbs I installed are holding up great and I still love the switch from clear to amber during use.
will this fit a 94 gmc and will the relay work as well my turn signal blink fast.@@AutoEdits
Great video, i have a 96 tahoe, did headlights, turn signals and rear lights, then added the ep29 flash relay, everything works great but for some reason when running , lights on, the rear turn signals barely blink, what could cause that?
Headlight link is dead but suppose that COULD be a good thing? How are they holding up? 99 Tahoe here!
They're amazon page has been inconsistent from the beginning but the lights in the Tahoe have performed flawlessly.
Where did you get your bumper at I have a 94 2500

This chevy tahoe look great with led light on headlights of backup light. RIP halogen headlights
They do work great.
I think the link for the front turn signals is for the wrong part?
You are correct! I think I fixed it. www.amazon.com/dp/B07QC4FFPV?tag=onamzjasonlew-20&linkCode=ssc&creativeASIN=B07QC4FFPV&asc_item-id=amzn1.ideas.1FNPJI3AJKMXS
Does it mess up if you dont change the relay for the hyper flash it looks pretty cool when it flashes fast lol
give it a try????
So do they work better, seen a few led headlights that were worse than factory.
Yeah, noticeable improvement with low beams around town. I'm happy so far.
Do you know if you can get the relay block under the dash ? Mine was broke at the fire wall when I bought it .
Thank you
Look at the usual's like classic industries and such.
Can you repost the link to the 9005/9006 headlight combo? The link isn’t working correctly and I’m unsure on which ones to get. Also, great content!

i can’t find these online i love that the runners are led to amber please help me find these lol
Is the bull bar removable from the bumper?
97 Chevy OBS c1500 related
I’ve been chasing around this issue with my flashing hazard lights.
I can not find the relay for the Ep36 can u help me out

Do you have to buy the LED Relays with the lights?
Yes
Hello again! I just switched out all my lights to LED’s and so far so good. The only thing is that they hum. Which doesn’t really bother me. Is there a quick fix? I can leave the humming if there will be no issue like catching my ride on fire or something. 😂 let me know thanks!!!
There's a fan in the LED headlights.
@@AutoEdits oh so it’s normal. Gotcha. Thank you sir.
How much did this cost you

all you need is a 4hi mod for your headlights
I have it but haven't installed it yet.
is there anyway i can get the names of everything you got for this setup i love to do it to my 94 chevy
The description has details and links.
Thanks
Inner fender. The bulb I installed isn't available but the one linked works great in its place.
Hey Jason, do you think that Duplicolor Trim & Bumper paint would work well on some factory OEM JK fender flares? Mine are faded and Aerospace 303 only keeps them looking decent for about 2 weeks here in the Texas sun.
Try a ceramic coating, that should last a little longer.
I think it would look pretty good... I'll be curious how long it lasts and will let you know how it does in the desert heat.
Harbor freight bedliner in a can works pretty good .
@@Bondovw yes but I don't want that bed liner texture. I just want them to look like new again.
I also replaced the headlight, turn signal and fog light assemblies/lenses for $85. Huge improvement along with these LED bulbs!
Not sure if anything changed lightwise from 95 to 2001... did you use the led in the side marker as well?
If anything else comes up are you find a solution let me know because I am in the same boat but not much of a big deal though.
this will work on my 98’ c1500 right ?
Yep
