This is the first time I've seen any conservative asking any questions where the answers were already known. Finally!!! The parliamentary process is meant to be slow. The questions have to be given in writing in advance addressed to specific ministers. The answers are prepared by the bureaucracy after seeing relevant files and given to the ministers concerned. The reply then becomes the ministers reply and is laid on the floor of the house. So this is not an individual minister replying but the whole government replying to the question. This is the procedure, though an individual minister can say what he likes even if it exposes his party government of an impropriety. But then he will be sacked by his prime minister. He will land on his butt.

The questions have to be given in writing in advance addressed to specific ministers. The answers are prepared by the bureaucracy after seeing relevant files and given to the ministers concerned. The reply then becomes the ministers reply and is laid on the floor of the house. So this is not an individual minister replying but the whole government replying to the question. This is the procedure, though an individual minister can say what he likes even if it exposes his party government of an impropriety. But then he will be sacked by his prime minister. He will land on his butt.
